It's Back! Extra 30% off J.Crew's Final Sale

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Closet Crisis (in this post), Rosie (in this post), as well as Irina, who shared the following promotion from J.Crew this morning.

J.Crew is offering customers to take an additional 30% off all sale items (no min) with promo code SHOPNOW. This offer expires Friday, February 17, 2012. The fine print includes:
*No exchanges, no returns on items marked as final sale. Offer valid at jcrew.com only. Offer is not valid at J.Crew retail stores or J.Crew Factory stores. Offer does not apply to previous purchases or to the purchase of gift cards. 30% off discount applies to J.Crew sale and Factory sale online items only. Offer valid through Friday, February 17, 2012, 11:59pm ET. Savings are applied at checkout with code SHOPNOW. Offer not valid on phone orders. Cannot be combined with any other promotion. Limit one promotional code per order. Details of offer are subject to change.
It is great to see some type of sale promotion back at JCrew.com. Especially since all the brick & mortar stores' sale section look pretty empty.

Once again, I think it would have been nice if they threw in free shipping with a lower minimum (even if it was a $100). But I will take what I can take! :)

Lastly, how much longer do we think "Final Sale" will last? Will it go away in late Spring or early Summer?

Will you be checking out the Sale section? Are there any items you are hoping to see or to get?

  1. Thanks for this promo code. I picked up the cafe capri in bright dahlia that I had been eyeing since September, along with the leopard print pencil skirt. I also got a black tissue turtleneck and the merino tatted lace sweater. I used it with my J.Crew Spring rewards! I know I probably could have gotten a better deal in store but I think I got a pretty good deal :)

  2. I was disappointed when I saw this promo. I was really hoping for a full price one. I have many pretties in my cart that I want but just can't pay the high FP. Happy for those that found pop backs or things you've been stalking! Maybe our FP % promo dreams will come true soon!

  3. Hey Rose, right there with you. I was planning on Staying strong as I need nothing. But then BR offered me 40% an item yesterday and 'crew hooked me with 30% off the sale price today.

I think I need to freeze my credit card in a block of ice to help me cool it.

  4. Hello, neon azalea double serge pencil skirt.

Just hope it doesn't come with the tag, and obvious wear creases in the lining, like the camel one did :(

  5. @ jcrew guy in Canada, I think that block of ice would have to be in the Arctic to be of any help to me.

Yes I bit again. Twice. Sigh. There was a little bit of an update after I purchased my mixed bag (FS & FP ; really wish there was a FP promo). Also wish there was more of an update. Where's all the stuff from the B&Ms?

And to make matters worse, I forgot to use my rewards card again. Again! What are they putting in the 'lade?

  6. I was so excited about this but my wish list is gone! I'm hoping for some popbacks in the Blythe Poppy in 0 and the Ashbury shirt in 0. Oy!! I won't even wince at the shipping!

  7. What are people buying? I'm so blah with inbetween season time, I need some inspiration.

  8. Blah. I was really hoping for a FP promo. Not even looking at sale.

  9. The day after I order the Cafe Capri in Floral Taffeta after many attempts during random pop-backs they have a 30% off promo. I guess I shouldn't complain because I probably would have missed them with the discount. Nothing else is really jumping out at me.

  10. I bit as well...Liquid dot silk skirt and a Cosabella bralette. I bought a denim shirt from BR yesterday (hurray full price promos!) and I kinda want to style the skirt exactly as it's shown online...which doesn't happen that often let me tell you. But if it doesn't ship I won't be too upset, I'll just put the funds toward all the full price stuff saved in my imaginary cart.

  11. Always nice to see some type of promo!

I bit on items I was after: sparkle seamore sweater, a Lana cami and the Matinee trench in navy.

  12. I was hoping to find the vintage tweed pencil skirt in blush popped back in 00 but to no avail. *sigh* I wish the SA's could help me locate it in the stores!

  13. jcrew guy in Canada, that's too funny! That's what Rebecca Bloomwood did with her CC too. :)

Kristine, I would contact a personal shopper to locate one for you. Those skirts have been out of the stores for a while now.

  14. I agree that it is nice to see another promo, but do think it should have included free shipping.

I don't plan on purchasing anything. The combination of Final Sale and needing to spend $175+ to get free shipping is a huge deterrent for me.

  15. OK, something must be wrong, because this is the second promo in a row I find nothing tempting. I think the quality issue has reduced the items I desire. I've only picked up some jewelry items, which I LOVE - glad to see some more fun pieces. Clothing wise, I've only picked up 4 items in the past several weeks (Spring), and there isn't anything in my cart (wish list) at the moment. Looking forward to the bigger roll out on Feb. 28th (I think).

  16. I spoke with an awesome CS rep just now, who applied the extra 30% on FS to an order I placed a few days ago, which was over $65 in savings. :-)
I also just placed an order for the Lora peep toe wedge in heritage green, since it's on promo for $188 minus 30%. Oh, beats is 3% now, too!

  17. Ack, iPhone auto correct! I meant to say that Ebates is now 3%!

  18. 30% works on factory items that are on sale, too. Ordered quite a few new knit tops to try and really good prices.

  19. really bored with everything in the sale section. not tempted by anything. i could have gotten most of these items cheaper during the last 40% off sale.

  20. I bit on the wool cafe capris, saddle belt and clea dress. I have been sooooo good lately and haven't made a purchase for quite some time but these were on my wishlist....

Also ShopAtHome offers 7% cash back. They work just like ebates.... Shopathome.com

  21. easypetitelooks-

I agree prices seem higher and the high free shipping minimum have really deterred me lately. It is a good thing for my pocket book.....I won't be placing any other orders but would have with a lower free ship minimum and better prices.

  22. I usually stock up on shoes during these end of season sales. I got a pair of Charley boots and a pair of Biella loafer heels, the combined total scored me the free shipping too. I almost bought these last night but had the hunch a promo code was nearby so thankful I waited until this morning, saved $92 on both pairs. I'm eyeing a few more things, but I got my two must haves. Might play sale roulette with the others and see if a 50% off is coming up in the near future.

  23. I refuse to buy any final sale, but did pick up the promo-priced director dress in navy pinstripe. With % off and my rewards card, it was a good deal.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I bought a Crewcuts shirt that was suddenly stocked in many more sizes despite being on sale for months.

There are still a lot of kids items that have tons of sizes and stock but are still pricey. Not sure of the strategy there.

(Ironic that my verification word is "ratio". Maybe a hint that JC should think about inventory and profit?)

  25. For anyone who wanted the Jules dress in Wildcat, it recently moved to sale, so with the 30% off its about $100. Just bought one for myself - have been waiting for it to go on sale for what seems like forever!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I placed a Crewcuts order too. Their items never go down in price, despite how long they linger in the sales section. :/ A short-sleeve shirt I bought my son 2 weeks ago as a ride along is now on promo, so I reordered with the extra 30% off. That and some swim trunks as those rarely get any cheaper. Hurrumph.

  27. is Vibrant Flame actual a RED or more Orange?

    Thanks

  28. Hi Marietta, lucky you on getting the extra 30% on a previous purchase. I just called a CS and inquire whether the extra 30% can be applied to an online purchase that I made this past Saturday but got the answer no...May I know whether your previous purchase is FS items or FP?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I have been thinking about the short Quincy boots in black. Does anyone have them? I am about 5'9". Wondering where they will hit on my legs...
    Thanks!!!

  30. Doctor Mike, it was on a FS item. The CS rep did say he could only apply it if the item was FS. He was super nice about it. I took a chance calling because I've heard that getting adjustments on prior purchases is hit or miss, depending on who you get on the other line. I'm so sorry that they wouldn't apply this to your order.

  31. Here is a link to pics from J.Crew's show at NYFW this morning. Looks like some crazy stuff, but look at the print in slide 18. Reminds me of the Veruschka dress/San remo print rolled into one!

    ReplyDelete
  32. JCrewJD, thanks for the link. I like the pink coat and that print you mention, but a lot of it looks like 70s-grandma clothes. And that orange dress is a disaster. But hopefully the versions of the items that come out of production will be more wearable.

  33. Nope. Free ship min is still just too high. Taxes and shipping add ~ $20 to my order, so it's just not worth it. I had a few odds and ends in my cart but the shipping negated the discount. Hoping for a better sale inventory update soon.

    ReplyDelete
  34. JcrewJD thanks for the link! I really like a few pieces and some of the shoes!

    ReplyDelete
  35. J.CrewJD, thanks for sharing. How about look #7, remind you of anyone? LOL

I scrolled through them all and did not see one thing I wanted to get, but I usually don't find much to love in the lookbook anyway.

  36. I agree with JustVisiting that this is THE promo if you want to get the Matinee...

    ReplyDelete
  37. There are also a number of promo items that get the 30% off but aren't final sal. Tall stretch perfects shirts, Manitee trench, Bangles. I'm guessing FFM will do a full list!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I was hoping for a % off new merchandise, I've placed 3-4 large orders in the past week and it would be nice to get an adjustment.

I did make a purchase but just a teensy one containing two 'promo' bracelets (not final sale) and a pair of mens wool socks to wear with my rainboots (I've been borrowing my bfs...I think it is time to get my own)

  39. cca..: Vibrant Flame is more orange in color, and usually very bright, as well.

stylish professor: The list of promo-priced items will be my next blog post. :)

  40. I'm have to admit a final sale shopper, but only for the basics. Viridan green and neon azalea pencil skirts, boot cut cords, perfect fit lace front tanks. All stuff I know will work for me.

I would love to buy a coat, but I sometimes need petite in the sleeves and can't take a chance on final sale. My store is 2 hrs away and doesn't carry petites, and I'm frankly not organized enough to buy at FP then send back and wait to rebuy on a sale. Maybe in my next life...

    ReplyDelete
  41. It figures, I gave up on a sale and slept in so by the time I got to look at the web all my items were gone. My hubby was all too happy about that! Happy Valentines Day just the same!

    ReplyDelete
  42. thanks Fabulous Florida Mommy. Radio red was orange, vibrant flame is orange. What color is an actual red with the coats

    ReplyDelete
  43. I have listed the majority of the promo-priced items that aren't final sale but do receive the extra 30% off at J.Crew in this post.

    ReplyDelete
  44. cca..: You're welcome! :) Unfortunately, J.Crew doesn't offer a true red in any of its garments. The closest they have come is the color called 'maraschino cherry', but even it isn't actually a true, deep red. Many of us have asked for them to offer one for the past several years, so hopefully they will decide to do it someday in the near future.

    ReplyDelete
  45. oh me. I just placed another mostly FS order...that's 3 now. Wish JC would just do one Large update and be done with it.

    verification word = stabs

    ReplyDelete
  46. cca, the maraschino cherry is as close to a true red as you can get in coats (I think only the Boulevard trench is offered in that color though). Poppy is a true red too but I think it only comes in sweaters.

Is the Academy stripe blazer on sale online (I mean before selling out)? It is on sale for $139 in stores, they have a few at the Madison Avenue @ 45th in NYC (but don't even think of getting the 30%off on top of that, the manager was very strict about it)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Yikes, looks like almost all the new fanfare print stuff is already on final sale :(
