Preface: A big "thanks!" to Clicquot (in this post) who came up with the suggestion to create this post. Also, "thanks!" to the JCAs who voted (in the "How Long Have You Been "Sipping the Crewlade"? {poll time}" post). I will start out by posting on Mondays for a few weeks, and then see how it goes. Hopefully this will help out us JCAs! :)
This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the RESORT & early SPRING sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

ReplyDeleteDidn't stop by JC, but I found this very similar top at Forever21.com to JC's beaded bow top:

Good morning! I stopped by one of my J.Crews and noticed that a lot of the jewelry online at *full* price is *now* on sale in the store...
ReplyDelete-Crystal colletto necklace (item 25976; $118.00) in black on sale for $59.99. (The necklace is gorgeous in real life so it's well worth the price.)
-Crystal devoté cocktail ring ($55.00) on sale for $29.99
-Crystal nebula bracelet ($78.00) on sale for $19.99! (Really not worth the sale price- the thing is huge and cumbersome to wear.)
-Dogwood link bracelet ($78.00) on sale for like $39.99 (can't remember exactly)
-Duchess stone cocktail ring ($65.00) on sale for like either $19.99 or $29.99
Mini-review on the Reese studed gladiator sandals that I received last week.
ReplyDeleteI got the black colour, and I love how they look. They're strappy enough to look cool and trendy, but thankfully don't go overboard with a crazy amount of straps that go halfway up the calf. The zip at the back of the heel make it much easier to get them on and off.
My only concern is that the straps that cross around the ankle (the highest straps on the shoe) are a bit snug. I would assume my ankles are no bigger than anyone elses (not as skinny as a model's, though), so I don't know if the snugness is typical of this kind of sandal. I can slip a finger under the leather so it's not as though the straps are cutting into my ankle, and they're fine to walk in, I just worry that in the heat of summer, after walking around all day, will they be uncomfortable?
I do love the style and know I would wear them a lot...maybe I'll see if a shoe repair can stretch the leather a bit.
Was just at the J Crew outlet in Riverhead, NY yesterday, and found lots of great stuff. Also, Tanger Outlets now have a 20% coupon that you can use there, so it's definitely worth a trip!

-Satin pleated headband ($18.50) on sale for $9.99
-Chain-mail headband ($18.50) on sale for $9.99
-Printed mini pouch ($24.50) on sale for $14.99

Alexandra,
ReplyDeleteCan you provide highlights of the outlet offerings? Thanks for linking the coupon!
The J. Crew at the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL had the Merino Boyfriend Sweatshirt on sale for $49.99. I was thrilled because I've had my eye on this item and it isn't on sale online.
ReplyDeleteclicquot, how do the sandals run? I am between sizes and am wondering if I should indeed size down as j.crew suggests.
ReplyDeleteregarding the snugness of the straps, I bet the leather will stretch a bit as you wear them.
Allie, I think they fit TTS (following JC's recommendation for half-sizes to size down). I sized down from 7.5 to 7 for the Reese and the length and width is perfect.
ReplyDeleteAnyone see the Beacon Hobo (or other Beacon bags), esp. in the yellow color? Thx!!
