This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the RESORT & early SPRING sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!
OT but just saw on the website that womens' sweaters are "20% off, prices as marked". I haven't been smoking or drinking but I don't see any reduced $$ except for the "select colors on sale" prices already in effect. what's up with that?
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely visiting Jcrew this weekend. I have a few returns :-)
ReplyDeleteOT: There is 20% off sweaters promo through Sunday, March 7, 2010, 11:59pm EST.
online only?? boo!
ReplyDeleteIn for a return, as per my usual!
ReplyDeleteI went in yesterday so I don't think that I'm going this weekend. The denim Minnies were marked down to $59.99, I was surprised.
ReplyDeleteI won't be going in. I don't think there's anything new that I haven't seen and the sale section is abysmmal.
ReplyDeleteI am returning the double v dress. I am too broad shouldered for it (plus I think I'm too large-chested as well). It's a cute dress and I like the dress, but it's not for my body type.
ReplyDeletemath teacher: Re: the double-v dress, does it fit tts, or did you size up/down? and how is the length on it?
ReplyDeleteHey Alexis, just wondering...
ReplyDeleteSince you do this post every Friday (Seek & Find), how about doing a follow-up post on Mondays about "What Did You Score This Weekend"?
I'm always wondering what the JCSs found on their weekend shopping excursions :)
AppGal: I bought the double v in a small. I LOVE it. But I am slim through the shoulders and small-busted. I actually am probably going to get an extra-small if it comes in any other colors in a later roll-out. (I found it to be a touch too big for me in the top half--even in a size small!) I am not returning the small (a cami will help)...but for any ladies contemplating this dress, bear that in mind.
ReplyDeleteDoes that help?
I'll probably go in to do some returns, but not sure if I'll make it in before the weekend is out. I'm interested in trying the denim Minnies again, now that they are on sale, but I will size up this time and see if they are any different. I already got some of the latest markdown items (crosshatch blaine jacket, handcut flower art tee).
ReplyDeleteDina: Thanks, my fellow knit-dress lover! I am thinking the xs will work best for me too. Will you be doing a review or sharing pics of it soon?
ReplyDeleteI went to my local store in LEX and found the Elizabeth Ruffle Shirt $19.99 and Slub Cotton V Neck $19.99
ReplyDeleteAppGal: I normally run hot, even in winter, so I would do a review, but it has been SO cold I just can't do it! :)
ReplyDeleteThat said, I have an upcoming trip to a warm place on the horizon (woop-woop)...and yes, it is coming with me!
OT: At American Eagle, I snagged a doppelganger of my beloved Nonno shawl collar cardi. $14.99, plus 40% off sale. !!! They have lt. grey/white marl, green/blue marl, red/lavendar marl, and solid navy. It hits mid hip, with slightly thicker cuffs and hem than the Nonno. The pockets are side entry and lined in thinner cotton sweaterknit, while the body is 40% acrylic, 33% nylon, 22% wool, 5% rabbit hair. They also had some cute, cheap flats as well.
ReplyDeleteFWIW I love Cliquot's idea!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'm going in this weekend. Practically shaking from crewlade withdrawal...
I went in today to do returns and they had $10 off all Graphic Tees. Not much in the sales section.
ReplyDeleteI find myself getting so excited about items online and then when I see them in person they are a big let down! Saved myself $$$!
btw--------i bought the double V dress and LOVE IT, too. I got it for a maternity dress----i am 22 wks pregnant and got a medium. I hope to wear for spring/and summer after baby comes!! I will def. get this dress in another color, if it goes on sale!
ReplyDeleteappgal - I sized down and it fit fine (a little tight across the chest though). The length was just above my knee. Really, I love the dress, just not on me. :(
ReplyDeleteI went this week to do some returns so I won't be going again.
ReplyDeleteYes, the denim Minnies were $59.99.
Mckenzie blazer in black were $119.99 (I got this but not so sure since it's a bit of a cropped fit)
Tuxedo pencil skirt (ivory with black stripes along the sides and center rear) were $79.99
Meron dress $79.99 (?) or $59.99
Blossom skirt (looks like camo) $39.99
Pretty much the tees marked down online were the same.
Happy shopping!
Hello,
ReplyDeleteDid anyone purchase the Rose Vines Romper (one piece swimsuit)? It looks so pretty and I was wondering about the fit and feel. I received the Seersucker swing top today and it fits great!! Longer then I expected and it's very flattering.
-Maria
I went for returns today - sale section was blah and small. But there on the rack they had two of the zebra trench coats, one in my size. After slamming it multiple times on the blog, but this being the first time seeing it in person - I had to try it on. The SA said they flew out of the store, which appears to be opposite of the web site - as it is still available in all sizes.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit... I kind of liked it. The ruffles in back lay down, so much you might not notice them. The fabric feels like silk - nothing that will keep rain off of you or keep you warm! (can't remember what exactly it is made of...) After much debate regarding the photoshopped picts on the site (they have now taken them down) - there are short tabs on the cuffs - not the large ones or complete absence of them (two options shown depending on how far you zoomed on the now-removed pictures). The fabric is beautiful, I love the cut (back ruffles still could do without), and think it actually runs a little big... and I just couldn't leave it there. So I brought it home to think about it some more and try it on with some outfits.
I have been so good - bakcing off the crewlade for a couple of weeks now. Must sleep on it. I may see things more clearly tomorrow after the crewlade has worn off.
I've been on a buying binge the last couple weeks, so no shopping for me this weekend.
ReplyDeleteMaria, I love the soft dove color of the Rose Vines Romper print, too. The print is really pretty and feminine. I wish they offered the soft dove as an additional color in the Rose Vines Print Perfect Shirt.
ReplyDeleteI went in today to see the Caprice jacket, #23315. Not a fan, not even on super sale; the fabric is ok and light for a windbreaker, covers half of my bum, but the fit is about one size large and boxy. What broke the deal was the ruffle collar - you can wear it up or down, and when down, I looked like a dragon lizard!! (Just Google it, you'll see.) I do have broad shoulders though, so that could be the issue.
ReplyDeleteGap and H&M are doing the same military/safari style jackets this spring, if J. Crew style/prices don't work for you, there are other shops.
Audrey,
ReplyDeleteI saw some cute jackets like you are describing at LE/Sears too today== also online Canvas.
Stopped by the Glendale, CA store and got the Alpansia swiss dot blouse in white for $20. Lots of sizes left in both black and white. It's still $50 online on final sale so I was surprised it was on sale for $20 in store.
ReplyDeleteJaymie,
ReplyDeleteThat is a good deal. I did not see that item at my store in the sale section when I was there yesterday!
Glad you got one:)
