Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the RESORT & early SPRING sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Headed to Valley Fair (Santa Clara) this weekend & will be returning a gingham shirt (dusty shale in P6), I see it's on backorder, so thought someone may want it. Also returning a medium knit hoodie in the popular Sepia color (seems to run a little big, going to try to get a small although these seem to be limited now).

  2. Yes, my SA is Portland said the new stuff will be on the floor on Saturday!
Also, a shout out to the store manager at Pioneer Place in Portland - I went to return a NWT Neapolitan cardigan today, because it's now way cheaper, and even though it's been more than 7 days since purchase she asked if I just wanted a price adjustment instead. Yes, I did! And I thank her very much for it.

  3. Had a chance to get into the SF Centre JC today. Lots of new arrival to ooh and ahh. Fell in love with a pink tweed blazer, but at $350, quite pricey for my lifestyle. I didn't have much time to try much on, so I'll probably go in on Monday.

  4. My B&M got the new arrivals this past Wednesday but I haven't had the chance to go in yet...hopefully this weekend though. :)

  5. Heading to Boston Copley store today :)

  6. Amidst the sea of t-shirts: I ended up the flower hat tee, another with carnation flowers in light ginger, and some cute flower ruffled flip flops - which are on promo for buy 2 or more, 25% off. They are reminiscent of the flora sandals from last year (replicated this year), come in 4 colors. Grey, black, light ginger, and a brownish color. Cute!!

  7. Happy Friday, everyone! This is off tangent, but I'd like to ask those who have purchased any of the campo pieces to comment on how they've been holding up over the past few weeks or months of use. Love? Hate? I saw the grey campo tote recently and feel ambivalent. It looks like a dingy, sad grey bag. The finish reminds me of nobuck suede. When I passed my hand flat across the bag, it left a track (similar to when one pushes the vacuum cleaner in various directions on the carpet). However, when I passed it across again in the opposite direction it returned to normal.

I guess I envisioned a leather much like vachetta: darkening with age, minor scratches buffed out with minor rubbing, the oils in our hands giving it a shiny patina over time. Maybe this is just an ugly duckling that turns into a swan over time?

The burnt sienna looked fabulous in the catalog. I'm wondering if it had been aged before the shoot or the lighting used simply changed the appearance of it for the catalog shoot. I like the shape, but perhaps $225 might be better spent on a Cole Haan grey bag I saw a few weeks ago.

    Thank you!

  8. I think I need to check out the crystal web earrings in person. They've been enticing me from the computer, and now that they're thirty bucks the siren song is too much to resist. Thanks for the heads up on the lower price Jean!

Oh, and I need to return the crazy dresses I tried. I hope there's some new arrivals to check out and that my daughter is amenable to a browse!

  9. Are there any Charlotte, NC JCAs out there? I'm wondering about the Northlake Mall b&m...how is it compared to the SouthPark location? I've never been and might be checking it out this weekend.

  10. nyc rock center had new arrivals out yesterday.. not much that really caught my eye. it is a pretty small rollout in my opinion, but it is definitely starting to look like summer in the store! some new sandals and flip flops out. that combined with the beautiful weather we've been having is making me very excited.

i left with the gingham shirt in wild blackberry, having missed out on the navy check shirt in the fall. i couldn't commit to the fall version, but these smaller checks are much better on me.

    have a nice weekend, all!

  11. I might hit my B&M if my little one gets over her cold this weekend.
I'm eager to see that new t-shirt with hat and flower and the new tunic I've seen on other bloggers' pics.

  12. Nothing I really want from JC right now; I did have a wardrobe freakout last night b/c I was going out and felt I had nothing cute to wear that wasn't too wintery or summery, so I felt compelled to pick up some dresses today. I would have taken advantage of the JC dress promo but there is nothing I really want in my size. Instead I just ordered about 6 dresses to try from BR using the 30% give and get promo. I didn't have an online code, only the coupon for in-store use, but I called customer service and they gave me a code good for online use. Just fyi in case you are looking for a code to use online.

  13. I'm home and full of shiny! The crystal web earrings are so light for being on the huge side. All the stones seem very tightly set, so I'm giving these a thumbs way up for quality. I have no appropriate setting for such fanciness, though, so if you are randomly blinded at the grocery store or the park, I apologize. My bling demands to be seen.

OK, so what the (bleep) is up with the tiered floral skirts with elastic neon waistbands? The marriage between eighties and nineties, done in preteen lengths is damned. These things are so schitz I wasn't even able to find the humor in them! Any rollout that includes such atrocities should go straight to Nuremburg.

  14. CheesyGoodness: Good news, now we don't have to bedazzle our own aprons - that dress I know we both have our eye on, the La sequin crochet dress, has been reduced from $1,400 to just $1120.00. Indubitably it will look fantabulous with your new earrings :-)

  15. La Belle Helene, thanks for the heads up! Now that it's within budget, I can request it as an early mother's day present! I'm so glad we can use the rhinetones and bedazzle a tiered skirt instead.

  16. I went to my local B&M yesterday and scored my Alpansia Swiss Dot blouse for $19.99! Anyone looking for one, they have a whole rack, black and white, various sizes, at Corte Madera, CA J.Crew.

I also tried on the new cork wedge sandals and am in LOVE! They are $150 and my store had tan leather and black suede. I just may use my next rewards card to get them!

  17. cheeygoodness - I laughed when I read your post! I have to admit I like/love the tired ruffle skirt with neon waistband. I have having a thing for mini skirts this season and I love ruffles on skirts. I ordered an extra small and the waistband is large, but I haven't brought myself to send it back yet. I think its cute IRL if anyone is on the fence about it. :-) I am new to this blog and enjoy reading it. Thanks!

  18. question!--

I bought the toothpick ankle cords final sale. It doesn't say final sale anywhere on the invoice. Can I return them? I bought them in every color and I realized that probably isn't necessary.

    ReplyDelete
  19. krissie- if your invoice doesn't say final sale then you should be safe to return. it will usually say "*final sale item cannot be returned" or something like that toward the bottom of the invoice. hth!

  20. My large patent campo (plum) has held up PERFECTLY-- and I've received a ton of compliments taboot! No complaints here

  21. Also for those of you interested in LLBean Signature; I received my order today (in only 2 days!!) -- I ordered everything in my usual JCrew size, as I heard Lands End Canvas ran TTS, and regular LLBean and Lands End tend to run the same. The items look too small, and will have to size down to an XS/2 (usually a S/4 in jcrew tops). I got the SS wrap dress-- GORGEOUS color and material, the pintuck floral elbow sleeve button up (reallly cute pattern), and oxford shirtdress in blue. Will report back once I try them on. HTH someone!

  22. opheliasmom: This may sound silly but be careful shouting out store managers in specific places. I'm glad she was reasonable and provided you with excellent customer service but because it was bending company policy (however ridiculous that policy is), someone from corporate may come across that and reprimand her about it? I don't know, maybe that doesn't make sense but still you never know.

  23. Cortney Joy - Can you give me some idea of how the Alpansia fits? Thanks. And thanks for letting us know!

  24. Already checked out some of the new arrivals and posted a few pics on my blog. I am loving the lively colors and bold prints this season.

  25. Belle de jour - I usually wear a 6 in J.Crew tops but I have broad shoulders and am tall, and the 6 felt a little constricting so I bought the 8. HTH!

  26. AppGal- I usually shop at the Southpark JC in Charlotte. I've been to the Northlake JC a few times, but as I recall, they didn't have quite as much at the SP location. The staff, however, were very helpful. Northlake mall is a very different shopping experience than SP. Northlake is a pretty mall, fairly new, and has lots of good stores if JC does not work out. I've actually been a little disappointed with the SP J Crew lately- I can't find my size in many things. Maybe I've just hit it at the wrong time. Have a good trip if you decide to make the drive!

  27. Hey - if anyone sees the crystal cardigan, would you mind posting about the fabric? Looks gorgeous online, but I'm wondering if it's icky to the touch.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I second that on the Crystal Cardigan! I keep looking at it online, but am just not sure.

I bought the wild blackberry checked shirt and love it. I was on the fence with last fall's bigger check shirt and am so glad I waited. I wore it today with a black Jackie vest and it looked fab and was so comfortable. I might need to get it in some other colors...

  29. Rae-

I ordered the crystal cardigan. It is of a sheer, almost mesh-like fabric. I didn't think it was itchy, although it was just a little stiff. The fit was tts, and it was actully quite pretty, but I returned it because the color just doesn't work with what I have.

  32. Thanks Cortney Joy and Gigi. It's always helpful to have reallife information about products, particularly clothing.

I appreciate how helpful everyone is, perhaps it's "enabling". ;-)

  33. Thanks, Kris. That's sort of what I'd guessed.

  34. dancerb26: Thanks! I didn't realize that Northlake had so many amazing stores...usually I go to SP because it has all of my faves under one roof, but NL has all of them too. I'm heading down the mtn today to stock up at Trader Joe's, so I might stop by just to check it out. Thanks again! :)

  35. OT - I ordered the golden flambe pencil skirt and it arrived yesterday. It is really, really golden. Frankly, the color looks nothing like it does online. The picture looks like ivory with subtle stripes. In real life its more like a medium taupe with very pronounced gold stripes. My normal size was also a little big. It is not work appropriate for me, so back it goes.

I also ordered the polished slub cotton pencil skirt in natural and highly recommend. It's a very nice weight, the lining is also cotton and it will be fantastic for the office when those temps start climbing. Highly recommend.

Finally, the Austin cardi. It's long, hits me at low hip. I ordered XS, it is not baggy or overly big at all. The fabric is light and very soft. I love the gathering detail on the neckline and pockets. Also recommend.

  36. I received my Austin cardigan this week and I also recommend it, it is not boxy as the on-line pic. The quality is very good and the material is soft.

  37. I was at the Easton Town Center store in Columbus this morning for a few returns and quickly checked out the new arrivals.

I didn't have a lot of time, but I did walk out with the hat tee.

I was surprised when I saw my total. Art tees were $10 off (I didn't know that) so the $29.50 tee total was just over $16 with the promo and my teacher's discount.

If anyone is interested, I thought it ran a little large.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Desert Flower - Do you feel like it isn't work appropriate because the gold stripes are too pronounced, or for some other reason?

    Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  39. Kris, I think the gold is just too pronounced, yes. I thought online it looked more subtle. The skirt itself is nice, however, I couldn't wear it for day.

  40. Desert Flower - thanks for the info - I loved it online but was concerned about that.

  41. I am not going to JC until Monday as the malls are too crowded this weekend (end of Spring Break). I have lots to return: the scalloped zipper cardi in XS (cute but too cropped and I pd FP), the rose vines perfect shirt in 0 (I initially loved it but haven't worn it yet so it's going back), purple check perfect shirt in a 2 (just like the popular blue check from the fall....going to see if I can exchange for a 0), Reese studded sandals , size 9 in Beechwood. I actually love these and they fit TTS but I ordered them as a ridealong for FS on some other order and can't justify them at FP.....very cute, though. I may also return the Vintage paisley tunic, size 2. Cute, but was $88 FP. Also , I hope they let me return a pair of white matchstick denim jeans. I ordered from FS but they are not marked final sale. Size 25 was way too tight in white. This will all be going back to the Austin, TX Barton Creek Mall store if anyone is looking for these items!
