Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the RESORT & early SPRING sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  2. Went to Northbrook IL yesterday and they had a good selection of all the new pencil skirts and Celosias in spring colors. A couple of the new print cardis, not the watercolor though. Sale section was lame, just a million tired-looking embellished tees that no one will take home, but they did have a few Edens, studded skinny belts for 19.99 and calf hair belts for 39.99.

Has anyone seen the pom pom scarf IRL in stores? It's a NEED not a WANT.

I just found a hole in mine and it's still hanging the closet with tags! I'd like to find a replacement before returning this one!

  4. Nope, unless I happen to end up near a store somehow. With warm weather looming here in a matter of weeks (and considering that I've already stockpiled some great spring/summer stuff from past seasons), I can't get into leftover tees, cords or sweaters at the moment. I'm patient, so I'll hold out until people tire of their sunshine peony and neapolitan items and buy them in time for fall. :-)

  5. The garland tank is on sale in stores for $29.99...

  6. At the Tampa store last night they had a lot of the black blossom jackets, skirts, and shorts, plus several contrast skirts in 4 and up, a couple gray crosshatch skirts in 0 and 12 (I think) plus matching Blaine jackets in those sizes and 2 too. There were also a bunch of black rumpled Meron dresses and the double-breasted cardigan in black and the pinky-orangey shades. Also, tierdrop earrings for $29.99 (still full price online) and dogwood earrings in gold and black.

They also had some cute cotton and silk "receipt pouches" that I hadn't seen before in the new Neapolitan, waterfloral, and I think the watercolor patterns marked down to $14.99. Item number 23348.

Their selection of new merchandise was really poor. The manager said they'll get another shipment in Weds though!!

    Hope this helps someone! :)

  7. Okay, so that didn't last long. Somehow my car magically drove itself to the mall (lol). In the Durham, NC store, there were lots of vintage slim dark-rinse jeans for $59.99, some very skinny jeans with wee brass zippers at the ankles, OODLES of tees at $24.99 and $29.99

They also had a decent selection of sale-priced necklaces but nothing I wanted. Not much else to tell. BLAH!

For anyone who's still looking, I did notice a watercolor-y scarf in the pink/yellow/orange print (maybe some green in there too?). Thought I'd mention it in case anyone's still looking. They also had a few of the canvas bags with the line drawings on them.

  8. Here's my report from Montgomery Mall :D Lots of tees on sale, some of the newer ones too with the flower appliques. Corwin cardis in lots of colors, most sizes and at $59. There were also denim minnies I think for $59. Lots of garland tanks too and scalloped tops in all sizes.

A few of the new arrivals were on display as well, including the gorgeous turkish delight skirt. BTW, the pom pom scarf is really cute too in IRL but I'll be waiting for that one to go on sale.

What did I buy? I managed to find a heather charcoal schoolboy blazer for $49, and a crewcuts longsleeve for my son :)

  15. Genny, I'm fairly sure Durham has the latest new arivals. I just didn't spend much time checking out the front of the store, as I visited during lunchtime (heheheheh).

  16. Desert Flower - I would like to see that as well, but the description says catalog/j.crew.com only.

  17. Kris, sorry, I didn't notice that! I guess I have to order that skirt if I want to see it. I'm having trouble thinking of ways to wear it. It would be a work item for me, but it resembles khaki in my mind and khakis are not a work option. I can't figure out what I'd wear with it to the office. I try not to buy things that won't go with 5 or 6 other items in my closet. If anyone has styling ideas, I'd love to hear them!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Desert Flower - I'm having the same quandary, but I love the idea of the skirt with a simple white button down. I agree though, may not provide a lot of styling options.

  19. Miss Penny Z,

The Lexington, KY store has the skirt you're looking for in a size 0. Their phone number is 859.971.6933. I just saw it twenty minutes ago--Good luck!

  20. Yikes. I've hit two Washington DC J Crews already this weekend. Here's what I found:
    Georgetown-
J Crew collection Sequined Starland Tank in gold peach- regularly $138, purchased for $39- they had lots of sizes
    Friendship Heights-
Drapey wool Mackenzie jacket in black- regularly $198, purchased for $119, they only had 2's and 6's
Neither location offered an extra discount.
Also FYI- I purchased the black Minnie pant on Friday night at the Georgetown location. I didn't try them on in the store. When I got home, I put them on and there was a big hold in the seam on the outside of the left pant leg. I returned them today at the Friendship Heights JCrew and they said that apparently that this a recurring problem with this "lot" of Minnie pants. So just be careful and make sure your seems are all sewn up before you purchase.

  21. Elaine,
Thanks. Raleigh did not have any of the new items out until a week or two after they have been out online. I find they are WAY behind when they get their stuff. Like the forget me not cardigan. When it was out online I went in and all the staff looked at me like I was nuts. They had no clue what sweater I was talking about; not even the manager. So I will wait and see as I am assuming they don't have the new items that just came out this week either. I ended up ordering on the red phone. It seems like I do that each time I go in there as they never have the new stuff. I am just ahead of them:)

  22. Debra - I've read this blog alot but have never posted till now. I do have a Ruthie Ruffle Tank in bright coral in size 6 that I purchased in final sale but it didn't fit and I wound up reordering in another size. It's brand new in the bag still if you're interested. I'd charge $12 for shipping from Canada plus whatever you think is a fair price - I can't remember what I paid. I can take payment by Paypal. I really enjoy this blog having been a J.Crew fan for a number of years and appreciate all the work put into it! Since I'm new at this please let me know what to next if you want to follow through.

  23. Kate,

Did you see any of the other colors of the Sequined Starland Tank on sale? TIA!

  24. Tia- Nope. Just the gold peach! It's got lots of sparkle. I love it.

  25. PrairieGirl, try posting on Monday. Alexis always has "The Great (Weekly) Exchange {looking to sell}" post where you can list your item for sale (and your email address so people can contact you).

She also has "The Great (Weekly) Exchange {looking to find}" post on Monday and you can check those comments to see if anyone is seeking the item(s) you have available.

These two weekly posts can always be found on the right sidebar under {Latest} JCA Weekly Posts.

Also on the right sidebar under Referencing {helpful posts} you can find a link to the following, which is really good:

  26. I did not go into the store but I ended up placing an order through my personal shopper yesterday. I ordered the golden flambe pencil skirt after she gave me some styling ideas, the polished slub pencil skirt in natural, and the twisted chiffon cardigan. I also ordered the Austin cardigan in grey, I want to see that in person. I love the gathered detail on the neck and pockets.

OT, does anyone have or have tried on the silk linen v-neck (item 24593)? I'm looking at it online, trying to determine how sheer it is and how low the v-neck is.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Desert Flower: I tried the Silk-linen v-neck sweater on in the Ivory and Sandstone...both were very sheer and not as long as the online pic, either. I wouldn't consider wearing them without a cami or shirt underneath, and don't personally feel they are worth full-price, either.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Desert Flower: I don't think they're worth the current sale price, either.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Desert Flower: Did you size down in the Austin? I ordered mine in my regular size and after looking at it again on-line I felt I could have size down.

Yikes I drank the crewlade again and ordered the Watercolor garden cardi this am.

  30. CaptainCrew, thank you for the advice. It's appreciated! Also thank you to Debra for responding. I've decided to give the top to a friend who would look great in this colour and we have similar taste in clothes. Have a great day all!

  31. Thanks for the feedback, FFM. It looks so good online and I had hopes for a summer sweater.

Casual-Crew, I ordered it in XS which is my usual size. I haven't received it yet. The personal shopper said it isn't oversized. I'm wondering if it will look good belted.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Desert Flower: I think wearing it with a belt would be a good option for this top, it would give it a more fitted look.

  33. Thank you Rynetta! i will call them right now, hopefully it's not too late!

  34. Miss Penny Z - I saw one earlier this afternoon at the Briarwood b&m in Ann Arbor. Good luck!!
