Best J.Crew Deal {what's yours?} :)

"Thanks!" to Anon at 10:05 PM (in this post) who came up with a *fabulous* suggestion for a post topic: "how about a post for best J.Crew "deal" we have recently got".

This is a great topic since so many of us have been able to snag some super-fantastic J.Crew deals, either through J.Crew's website (using the great MERRY, HURRY, JINGLE, EXTRA20, and HOHOHO promotions) or through their brick and mortar (B&M) stores (taking advantage of the additional 20-30% off sales, 25% off red card, and other promotions).

My top "deal" is the Sean bag in Tulip (Item 99785; Regular $268.00, now $149.99) which I was able to purchase for $37! (I have to give "thanks!" once again to LaDolceVita who let us all know that the bag was even on sale in this post.) Although I am not a huge fan of the resin links for the handle/ strap, the purse itself is gorgeous! (Especially gorgeous for just $37.) ;) I love the "smooth, supple and specially wax-treated" leather which really is smooth to the touch. I also think the rich Tulip color is very beautiful in person- a great way to add a "pop of color" to any outfit. Lastly, I really appreciate that the purse is lined. :)

What is your best J.Crew "deal" that you recently purchase? Would you recommend that item? If so, what are some of the reasons why? :)

  3. I am so glad I found this blog! I've always been a JCrew fan, but with the great sales lately and ramping up the wardrobe for a better job, I've been a complete addict.

I got a lot of great deals in the recent sales (I'm 6'2" so I basically ordered everything they had left in tall sizes), but by far my favorite deal was the Siena Print Calf Hair Driving Mocs in Cheetah: http://www.jcrew.com/AST/Browse/WomenBrowse/Women_Shop_By_Category/shoes/flatsmoccasins/PRDOVR~12420/12420.jsp

I'd been eyeing them for weeks at $268 (and trying to justify the price since stylish shoes aren't always easy to find in 11s), But then they were marked down to 189, and I used the "EXTA20" for 20% off and free shipping. LOVE that!

  4. my recent deal is $19*0.8 champagne rose tee. however, i haven't received it yet. not sure if it will be switched or missing in my package. Maybe I will find out it is a used item.

I am not a big fan of this tee. basically that the amount I am willing to purchase it at.

  5. for me I would have to say the fontaine dress. I got it @ 280...not bad considering it was orginally priced @ 650. It's just so pretty...I wore it to a ball about two weeks ago, just got it out the cleaners, and hung it up @ my closet door to just stare at it...for 2 days!!! I know...but it's so Sex in the City!!!!

  6. Eva and Letitia -- Alexis already put a link in her original post to the entry that describes how the Sean bag was just $37.

My best from this past orders was the herringbone Fiona jacket for $52 (reg $198) and a Tartine cardigan for $15 (reg $88).

  9. Just bought a men's v-neck cashmere sweater for $30 at my J.Crew Hawaii store!

  10. I think my best deal we getting the Bal D'Hiver (one of last years items that popped up!) for $149, no tax or shipping. That's $300 less than the original price. The dress arrived and it was in perfect, new condition.

Another great deal was getting the cosmos liberty print twisted placket shirt for $34. I love those shirts and collect them...I usually pay FP for them. The Cosmos print on this is little tiny purple/pink flowers on a white background, so pretty.

  11. Men's cotton v neck sweaters in blue and green. Really pretty shades for $9.99

Women's knee high socks for $2.99- bought 4 pairs

Girls headbands for $2.99--bought 6 different ones
Girls critter wellies $15.00--bought 2 pair

    Maggie jacket for $107
    Cascading Flowers Astrid $223

  12. I got the Penelope Mary Janes at $64 with no shipping (they were $235). Didn't expect to like them, thought they might be too high and you know how pretty shoes are usually uncomfortable. So excited to find that I LOVE them -- super cute and comfy!

The other deals are all the Tartine cardigans at $15 like rosie said and the Wide Patent-Leather Belts at $18 from $55 because they are so wearable.

I got both the Sequin ($119 from $228) and Leopard ($119 from $298) versions of the Hedren Jacket as well as both colors of the Cashmere Florette Jacket ($119 from $325) and love, love them so much that I consider them a deal!

  13. I hate to say it buy my dest deal was my lost order during the turkey mess. I ended up getting 7items for $70.00 plus a $25.00 gift card. I ended up getting the lowest possible price with fs for all the items I ordered, plus 30% off. I got mens tees, 3 Ringspun and 2 yogi tees for myself. I also would like to add the only reason that I got this deal is that I was being honest with J Crew, they had already refunded my money for the lost parcels and the CS rep was trying to get the order for free but management said no so instead I got the lowest possible price plus shipping was waived.

I did not have to call back to tell them I received the parcels, I felt it was not right, they had been fair with me, and if there is a problem with an future order we all know there is a great chance that there will be, I will be able to get it resolved with no black mark attached to my name.

  14. Alexis: Congrats on your great deal! My recent best deal was Alessia patent-leather peep toes for $51 from $215. I wouldn’t pay for a full price for them, but I love them for this price:)

    ReplyDelete
  15. I got the Beckett boots for $138, down from $400. They are beautiful!

    ReplyDelete
  16. casual crew:
you are lucky, my TURKEY order never showed up. They refunded my money eventually. Since then I have been too scared to purchase anything else (it was a $800+ order) I am hoping for a good sale this week and I may brave the website again. What do you think the odds are of an on-line sale this week?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Penny: Sorry to hear about your order, I be too nervous to order this week, with all the X-mas cheer going on in the warehouse, especially if they have a good sale going on.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Sounds like everyone got some really great deals...congratulations!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Everyone: Thanks for sharing your great deals with us! I love reading these stories!!! :)

Letitia: What a great price for the Fontaine dress- congrats!!! And you got to wear it to a ball- sounds beautiful too! :)

Eva & Letitia: Ladolcevita let kind enough to let us know that the bag was on sale for $69.99 (even though it wasn't marked on the price tag itself) in another post. Since the store was carrying an additional 30% off sale at the time, and the red card (good for another 25% off) was still around, the bag went from $69.99 to $37. Incidentally, I really miss that red card- I hope they bring it back! :)

Cece: You might have gotten the best deals of all with the Serengeti dress for $24 and the Owen bags for $40- fantastic!!! :)

Naomi: I think the Alessia peep toes are so pretty! Congrats!!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I got a pair of wellies regularly $88 for $13.74!!

They were marked $49.99 with 30% off clearance but they were actually only $19.99!

  22. Thanks Alexis!!!

I need some advice guys. My basket is full of items that are finally available in my size...but no promo. What do I do? I think they're going to bring a promo the day after xmas, which will be final sale. I think I want to try on the items first and return them if it doesn't work out? HELP!?!?!?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Slightly OT: I was told by a customer service rep over the phone that J.Crew expedited shipping (for free) on orders placed up to this Saturday before 9AM so customers would get their packages- way to go J.Crew!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Letitia: I totally feel your pain! When the coat I was eying finally came available in my size/color, there was no promo code in sight (except for free shipping on $150 and my item was less than that). ;)

My advice depends: if the items are hard to find (even on the website), then go ahead and buy them. You most likely won't get the items for a week, and if there is a promo that comes in the next few days, you might be able to call it in and ask for the difference. However, if the items keep popping up in the sale section, then wait, because I am sure they will be around post-holidays. In either case- good luck with your purchases!!! :)

  25. I have to agree with Alexis ; the sean bag was my best deal this season - howewer, during that whole period when the store was offering 30% and I was using my additional 25% off red card the deals were unbelievable. Honestly, I was feeling like I had to buy everything!!! I do miss my red card, we'd become very close friends! I have the peacock jacket coming today - which ended up costing me 108 with promotions - so I'm excited to see how it is.

  26. Flaneuse, what size is your bal d'hiver dress? I love that dress.

  27. My favorite steal has been two Quinn camis (regular $78) that I picked up in the store for ~$14 each. They were marked down to $19.99, then were an extra 20% off, and the sales associate was willing to apply my 15% off educator's discount. I got one in pale almond and one in a beautiful deep peach color, and they look fabulous under cardigans. The ruffle is gorgeous!

    ReplyDelete
  28. MY best deal this season was a pair of Penelope flats in charcoal for $31.49....but then I also got a Madeline coat in a tall size...for $98 and free shipping. And in the Columbus Circle store here in Manhattan, NYC where I live, I bought all of the colors of vintage cord skirts for $18. So lots of deals this season

P.S. Lots of sherpa hoodies for $11 at the madison avenue store...got some of those too!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Tina, do you know if there are any of those sherpa hoodies left? That's a great deal!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I got a pair of chinos for hubby for $13, a sweater for him for $14 and the black double serge skirt (for me!) for $42. Oh, I miss the red card!

    ReplyDelete
  31. OT, but does anyone have any comments on the fit, look, etc. of the trois rosette tanks? They seem cute and so reasonably priced at $19.99...

    ReplyDelete
  32. Red (dark poppy) Madeline Coat for $112 ... perfect for Xmas and Valentines!

    ReplyDelete
  33. My best deals have been the cashmere cupcake cardi for $43 and the cashmere sequin card (heather silver) for $36. It's wonderful to get such great deals!

  34. I picked up the berry astrid jacket in charcol for $107 after sale price plus additional 30% off, and educator discount.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I was able to snap up a Francie skirt in Papaya for $19.99 a few moments ago! I'm excited since it seems to have elicited a bunch of positive comments from aficionada's in the past. I guess I shouldn't get my hopes too high in case it's not in stock :)

OT - one item that I was bummed didn't work out was the Ella dress. Also ordered in the Papaya and it fit beautifully from waist down (very fitted) but was so so so loose up top. I consider myself normal-chested for my size (B/C cup, 5'1, usually 0-2 waist) but no amount of standing up straight and sticking out my chest would've filled in the dress! Also, the chest darts made the top seem pointy on me (I think someone else had mentioned this also) The color however, was much prettier than I had imagined. Not too bright and I didn't feel limited to wearing it in the Dec/Holiday season. Congrats to those aficionada's that can pull this dress off - it's certainly unique & pretty!

    ReplyDelete
  36. OT: How is the fit of the Quinns? My store only had the papaya colored one, and even a size 2 looks huge. I usually wear a 6 in jackets and button downs, and wear a 4 in the hammered silk. Will a 4 in the Quinn work for me?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hi everyone, love this blog, and I wanted to chime in on this post.

I got a whole outfit for under $60. It was all on sale (extra 30% off) and I had the extra 20% off coupon.

Stretch vintage matchstick cords in citron for $16.79

the Dream Valerie bow cardigan for $39.20

and last but not least, a tweed crystal headband (also in citron) for $2.79.

And I plan on wearing this outfit for Christmas. Thanks J Crew for your awesome deals!

I bought the trois rosette tank in a small. I'm 5'5" and found the tank too low. I'm going to stitch it myself to make the straps shorter. Easy fix or a tailor can do it for you. I bought the putty and love it under my navy velvet ecole. In this color, it looks best underneath a cardigan or blazer. I like the drape of the merino wool.

For the $19.99 price and being a unique piece, I say get it!

Alexis, thanks for this site! I love it and appreciate all the work you do on it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. I think you could do a 4 in the quinn as long as you don't have a large chest. I usually do a 4 in most of JCrews flowy silk tops, but I had to get a 6 in this one.

I think my best deal was getting a cashmere femme sweater for about $34. Also several of the wide patent belts for about $13. I love my student discount!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Thanks Anon @ 10:11, for your comments re: trois rosette tank. I went ahead and purchased it because I think it'd look nice under cardigans or blazers, as you mentioned. I'll try out wearing a cotton/spandex blend cami underneath to deal with the low neck & to smoothe out the fit. That or shortening the straps should do the trick. Also, thanks Alexis for the blog. It really does have the nicest members.

  41. Wow! :) These deals are amazing. After reading some of them, I don't even want to share what I consider mine to be, because they're nothing compared to others!

  42. My most recent purchases have been:

    1) Lulu metallic peep-toes - $73

    2) Alessia patent peep-toes - $100 - Naomi: don't know how you snagged them for $51! I think my price is still better than FP though, too.

    3) Brushed gold-lame skirt - $56

    4) Double-strand flower necklace - $64 (from $175!) - been lusting after this for some time and almost didn't get but decided I wanted it too much to pass up.

There have been other purchases for tees, the Lea cardi, etc. at great deals, as well.

P.S. Just ordered those last 3 items Friday and my est. arrival is Xmas eve *cross fingers*. I want to wear the skirt to Xmas eve dinner as the dress I was going to wear doesn't seem to fit right anymore.

    - my beloved Lille coat $71 or so
    - Burnished Rubber wellies- $15
    -Scetchbook Belle skirt-$15
    -Cashmere sequined shell-$30
    -cashmere Femme sweater-$31.

  47. Anon @ 9:13...

I doubt it. Maybe though...I purchased them last week when they had the additional 30 off in stores. They were marked down to $19.99 from $69.50....that brought em down to $14 and I had my educators discount do came to $11.90. Call the Madison Avenue store. Its on 44th and madison ave...NY, Ny. They had mediums and extra smalls. I took all the smalls they had!

  48. My favorite deal has probably been getting the Alessia Mary Jane heels in cool graphite for $36. Hard to beat that.

Question for J.Crew pros...does anyone know what it means when your order status is changed from "waitlisted" to "open?" I knew the dress I ordered was waitlisted until Christmas...so I'm not sure if this means I'm off the waitlist, or its come in stock and will be shipped soon.

    Thanks for your help!

    ReplyDelete
  49. My best deal are the Alessia Mary Jane for $54, two Double Serge pencil skirts for $56 each, a strapless embossed beach dress for $19.99 and the Berry Astrid for $126.

I just received two orders that I placed a few days ago via FedEx, and I am waiting on two more. Thanks, JCrew, for upgrading shipping for free... very much appreciated!

  50. I was thrilled to snag a boucle Lucille coat for $69.99 (original price $285) with free shipping using the HOHOHO code and the metallic giraffe coat for $103.99 (original price $425) with free shipping back in October. Both were under 25% of their original prices!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Priya: That Open status should mean that your waitlisted item is getting ready to ship. This just happened to me last week...a sweater waitlisted until the middle of January switched to Open, then received a tracking number and is due to arrive today. Good Luck!

  52. Tina, I called and they only had larges left and they were $49.99! What colors were you able to get at that price? Thanks!

Well, thanks J. Crew, what a surprise, after all of the disasters these last few months.

  60. Sooner_girl: Is it a FedEx tracking number? I have a package coming today via FedEx, but when I clicked on the tracking number in the shipment email it took me to the UPS website. If it's FedEx it won't have a 1Z at the beginning, and will just be a set of 12 numbers with no letters.

  61. Does anyone have the crawford watercolor cami? I am wondering how it fits, whether its versatile, etc.

I'm having problems too. I have about four orders in transit and all but one tracking number don't work. They still say "billing info received" or are a completely invalid number. Hmmm...thinking about it, it sends me to UPS on one but it isn't a UPS number, like FFM just explained. I'll try Fedex! Maybe that will help me track one of the four.

Anyways, good luck sooner_girl! Hopefully we both get our packages :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. Thanks for the tip, FFM! It *was* a FedEx number with a bad link (to UPS).

Also, if anyone gets "n/a" on the shipment email in place of a tracking number, you can call CS and they have the tracking number. Why it doesn't just show up on the email, I don't know, but it seems they do exist.

I'm also in love with my gold glitter tank, purchased for $12...

  79. My best deal with have to be my most recent purchase - the Ecole Herringbone Jacket. It was originally $198 and I ended up getting it for $49 online. I'm really thrilled to have gotten that because it looks perfect with my Candy Tee in Champagne. I've reviewed it in my blog if anyone would like to read about it before buying it.

Sounds like many of us had gotten some amazing deals! Congratulations!

  80. Alisha, I'm guessing you must have been a real good J. Crew shopper this year. I got a gift one year too, a cashmere scarf (not in my color, unfortunately, but it was the thought). Another year I got a very cute and soft stuffed animal from Bloomingdale's. I think I spent ... it makes me wince to think it, so I won't :)

    ReplyDelete
  81. Donegal skirt suit (blazer + pencil skirt) for ~$80 (30% off final sale + used $25 off purchase of $125 or more card).

    ReplyDelete
  82. Tiffany, I was a VERY good J.Crew shopper this year - I had to rebuild my wardrobe (due to additional weight loss), and I went almost solely with J.Crew for both casual and professional wear. Yes, I spent too much this year, and this gift is a smidgen of what I spent. What spooks me out is that the scarf IS my color, and I'm unsure if that was luck or intentional. It matches the cashmere scarf and gloves I bought earlier in the winter (online, with my card, of course.) Not hard to track, but I wonder if that much thought was put into it? The scarf is spearmint, which is one of the "signature colors" for the winter (so I was told by my PS.) It could be just dumb luck, but I'll be interested to hear what colors and items others receive.

It's 10 degrees here with a wind chill of 20 below, and I have to leave in 10 minutes for an appointment, so I am grateful to have this scarf, as it matches both my sweater (cashmere henley in spearmint) and the aforementioned gloves and hat which I will be wearing!)

Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, and I hope Santa (er, Mickey) is good to all of you as well.

  83. With my red card, I got a bunch of goodies for me & DH at a B&M last week for only ~$108:

    For me:
    -city luxe cord trousers
    -paillette cardigan

    For DH:
    -2 pairs of boxers
    -cotten cashmere 1/2 zip sweater

    :)

  84. Alisha can you post a link to your review?

    ReplyDelete
  85. I got my Jamie in cloud grey for $130. I think it is a good deal. :) I am happy with it.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Anon @1:26: Alisha's not reviewing anything, and she already posted what she got on here.

    ReplyDelete
  87. actually she said she was posting details on her blog and would post a link

  88. I managed to score a men's cashmere v-neck last summer (God bless off-season returns and subsequent markdowns!) for $11.90, including tax, after my student discount.

  89. I don't see why people keep posting about gifts they get from Mickey. It just makes everyone who didn't get something upset.

    ReplyDelete
  90. anon at 1:47, just because you get your feelings hurt doesn't mean other people do.
it's interesting to see what people who spend a lot of money get. unless you spend thousands of dollars, don't get your panties in a bunch. who cares if people get special gifts? It's because they're spending ridiculous amounts of money. so instead of spending a lot of money and getting something free, just go buy yourself what everyone else is getting it it'll make you feel better.
the problem isn't with people sharing what they get, it's people who are so insecure they get jealous of someone getting something for free

    ReplyDelete
  91. Agreed, why in the world would it hurt your feelings or make you upset because you didn't get something. Guess what, for Christmas my husband is giving me the Madeline dress. No reason for anyone else to get upset. It's equally as silly to get upset about some token of appreciation from Jcrew.

    ReplyDelete
  92. OT, but does anyone name the name of this j. crew dress?

    http://blog.enpointephotography.com/archive/angela-kenny-engagement-session-teaser/

i remember seeing on the website, but it's no longer there (sold out).

  93. Smarty: That's fantastic! My UPS order arrived earlier this morning (the waitlisted cardigan), and the FedEx order just came, too...YAY!!! Let us know if your UPS packages arrive today...fingers crossed for you that they will. :)

    ReplyDelete
  94. it is called the "shimmy" dress

    ReplyDelete
  95. Many thanks to J.Crew for upgrading our orders shipping to expedited. It is a very nice touch. I will get a package on the 24th instead of next week. Fabulous!

    ReplyDelete
  96. FFM: I already received my UPS package. The FedEx package should be here by 3pm.

    ReplyDelete
  97. anin 1:51 Chill out dude, the comment made by the anon is a valid point, this blog has a history of turning negative when someone posts about gifts from Mickey.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Alisha, weird, mine was also a pale minty green color and it was probably 3 years ago when I forked over many thousands. Glad you were able to use it, sounds nasty there.

I apologize to those of you who might be upset about the gifts. But like anon 1:51 said, it was a ridiculous amount of money I had spent and the scarf was a small token. We'll move on now ....

I get mildly upset -- just mildly :) -- when I hear about people picking up super bargains like the Serengeti dress for $24. But mostly I'm happy for those who were able to snag. I'm only upset because I wish I could have too as I love that dress and would be happy to pay 4x that price!

    ReplyDelete
  99. I agree people shouldn't be so sensitive. The only reason it would turn negative is because someone takes offense to it. No offense should be taken when a valued customer gets a token gift.

    LOVE IT.

  101. It's not that great of a deal because I can't go to a store, but I got the boucle scarf coat online for 160, no taxes and free shipping. I was so excited! I haven't gotten it yet, but it is one purchase that I'm looking forward to getting!

    ReplyDelete
  102. Oh and speaking of going to a store... I got the red card but wasn't able to use it, because like I said I can't go to a store! (I live overseas)

    ReplyDelete
  103. Eva, sorry to reply so late to your comment! I think the Bal d'Hiver dress runs a little small...the only size available was a large so I took it and figured since it was no FS it was worth a try. Lo and behold, it's not as large as I expected. I think the side zip could be taken in an inch but that's really it. I think since it is made out of knit instead of fitted fabric the designers figured that the fabric could have more stretch and therefore the sizing is not so exact (unlike say the Kate dress).

    ReplyDelete
  104. When I searched for that dress it came up under search saying there was a medium left... but when I clicked on it it said it was sold out :(

    ReplyDelete
  105. a white polo once... it was on sale for $7 and is the best polo I have owned!

    ReplyDelete
  106. I purchased the shimmy dress a few days ago. I've been stalking it since it first appeared on the website. When I typed in the description, the left side of the screen showed 2 in my size. When I clicked on it, there was another one of those sold out messages. I called and CS told me there were 2 in my size left. We did the order over the phone and I'm supposed to receive it tomorrow.

My still unworn chocolate perfect cross-back tank bathing suit for $13 is right up there as a best deal.

I just saw a Sketchbook Roses Belle Skirt size 2 online! Not my size (I need a 0) but hope one of you can get it....

    Sorry. Just ranting.

  121. I absolutely love Alexis for thinking up this blog...its really great...but somehow I'm always amazed at the lack of maturity found on here...some times more than others. There are some people whose budget/lifestyle do not allow them to even shop, much less at J. Crew. We are here to enjoy the blog, not bicker and rant. Geez. Be happy for those who got a deal and if not, say nothing at all.

Back to J. Crew ....smh at these so-called adults.

  122. Yay - I got my package at about 8:35 - I think I am going to wear these tights on Christmas with a skirt. They are comfy looking - the grey ribbed ones.

  131. OK so I got the droopy flower astrid today and I do love it...however you guys weren't kidding when you said the flower was literally droopy!!

So what's my plan of attack here? Spray starch, blowdryer, and safety pins? Has anyone had success using another method?

  132. Interesting article about how retailers are willing to haggle with consumers. There's a quote from a J Crew employee.

I actually had success just treating the base of the flower pin as if it were floral tape. I forced open the petals and pressed in place at the base. Didn't have to use starch at all. The only other manipulation was the top petals had to be pinned up so as not to flop over. (Not sure this makes sense - it's hard to describe this in narrative. . . . ) Suffice it to say, I didn't have to starch the thing (and I have two of them because I like them so much).

  135. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I got home tonight to find a mountain of JC packages and boxes blocking my front door. Some were shipped regular and some 2 days and at least 1 box with overnight ship (not my request).

There were 21 -- yes, 21 not 12! Granted, 7 were waitlisted single-item packages and some were duplicate orders of sale items that I will return but this was a horrible display of consumption. I think I'm trying to save the economy by myself. My new year's resolutions include taking a long break and adopting 10 more hero rats (search hero rat)....

  136. tiffany rose, I hope you recycle packaging? Hope you got some good stuff, anyways, & Merry Christmas.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Anon at 2:10~

Thanks for the tip. So you were able to get it looking a little less "dead" with only a safety pin? I will have to try it!

Yay another Esq!! Sorry, I found out I passed the bar in Nov and am up for admission in January, so I am a little excited about the esq. status :)

    ReplyDelete
  138. Hi Anon 7:04, I have been an avid recycler since I was 14 (many moons ago) so absolutely I do. I even reuse my grocery bags and those plastic bags you put vegetables in until the bags get too yucky.

I opened a few packages and saw some fabulous things and may have some items to share (like snow flake tees) in next week's exchange. Merry Christmas to you too!

    ReplyDelete
  139. ^I love u for this. I just took 3 HUGE, I mean GIANT trash bags full of plastic packing, bubblewrap, paper filler etc.to my UPS store as they can use it for packing. Reduce, reuse, recycle. Now if only I could reduce my JC consumption. Although-my CC bill just came and I will not be buying for many months. I WAY overdid it:(

    ReplyDelete
  140. JaneEsq -

Congratulations on your recent bar passage!!!!!! Time for celebration -- and no better way to do it than with JCrew ;)

But, yes, I had no problems getting the petals to behave. I just had to pin the top petals up so they don't flop over.

  141. Few people were asking about Italian vachetta uptown tote. I purchased it and when the purse arrived I found out that the color is not really pink like the color on the website. It is a nice tan/beige color. This color make the vachetta bag more desirable unless you are looking for a bag in a light pink color. :) I cannot tell much about the quality of the leather yet since I just received the bag last night and have not worn it yet. However, I expected this bag to be more than what it is. It did not impress me too much. However, I had a similar impression of the Jamie bag (cloud grey) and now I absolutely love it and wear it almost every day. Also I would like to mention that the regular uptown tote I bought last month in ivory regal color is as nice as vachetta but the leather is more grainy and may be thicker. Both bags are great buy and in the end it all comes to what type of leather you prefer and what color you desire.

  142. Since this post is getting a lot of attention....I just posted on the great weekly exchange, a NWT sequin tissue tee, dark fog. $20 shipped. info is in the other post. Thanks for reading!

  143. just wanted to share that i received my Owen bags today and oh my goodness...they are just beautiful! the terracotta is my favorite but the yellow one will definitely look awesome for spring...theres even an authenticity card to acknowledge that it is tanned by borge. its so soft and the horn handle looks awesome. it is comfortable to wear over my shoulders as well. so to be able to get it at $40 each is simple a mircle!
