Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to take advantage of the "secret sales", the additional 20% off sales, or to see some new holiday arrivals in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic! Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

P.S.S. As many of you have mentioned, J.Crew stores are offering *20% off the entire store* (sale & regular priced items)!

  1. Hi still looking for Astor Duchamp in 12. Sigh .

  2. I won't be visiting this weekend . . . I say that every week, but I usually end up visiting . . .

  3. haha Jeff, I second that. Last weekend when I went in it seemed like more than 1/2 of the Cambridge MA store was on sale!

  4. Hello all--quick report. I went to the Walnut Creek store tonight and they were moving stuff around. A SA mentioned it was the "last day of the extra 30% off sale items".

Also, Quinns are 19.99 there too. Didn't see much else as I was in and out--hope this is helpful!

PS I also cannot believe how these codes have crazified me over combing the website and ordering. Yikes! JCrew you have me hooked!

  6. I went to the San Diego,CA B&M last night and they had all colors, all sizes of the candy tees on sale. $29.99 plus an additional 30% off. Beyond that, it was more of the same. HTH!

  10. I may go back this weekend since I need to return a couple of items anyways...only thing is that I really dread being at the mall the weekend before Christmas. ;)

Btw...I will be returning the Charcoal Berry-Trim Astrid in size 4 (I'm keeping the size 2), and Matchstick Jeans in Premium Denim sizes 27R and 28R, so email me if you are interested in them before they go back to the J.Crew abyss. :)

  11. I was in my store last night, and there was was really only one thing that I felt was worth mentioning - they have two of the plum colored peacoats, one in size small, one in size medium (as of 5:30pm last night). The small was out in the sale section, and the medium was returned while I was checking out and then taken to the back (since it's something they don't normally carry). Their number is (248) 449-6690 if you wanna see if they still have them!

Beyond that, nothing new or on sale that was too exciting - mostly the same old stuff. There was a decent amount of sale outerwear if you're looking for something in particular.

  14. J Crew is listed as a merchant celebrating... FREE SHIPPING DAY! Yup, merchants are offering free shipping all day Dec 18th (today). Looks like J Crew took care of this with their current promo.

The site lists participating merchants, there are lots of them.

  15. Jliz,

Were the quinn camis marked 19.99 before any discounts? Thanks!

  16. Biltmore Village store (Asheville, NC) has a small and picked over sale section.

But I noticed they had a size 0 velvet ecole marked $49.99, it was either green or blue, can't remember.

They have the brown fabienne tall boots, size 5.5. They have the suede glenbrae flat boots, in brown (not sure which), size 10.

They have lots of flats in varying colors.. mostly the salina patent in black and red.

The rest of their sale is pretty picked over and nothing too exciting, and the prices are marked higher, on the whole, than in other stores.

  17. All ten items that I ordered at J Crew were unavailable. A range of things for men & women and EVERY SINGLE ITEM was "sold out"? And irritating that they don't mention it until a few days after the fact. I am starting to hope J Crew goes under.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Anon @ 5:25am--the resort collection has been up for awhile..

    ReplyDelete
  19. anonymous @ 8:20, they were probably sold out because they were on fourth markdown & from spring 08. thank you for wishing my company would fail and I would be left jobless, along with the thousands of other associates out there. thanks, happy holidays to you as well.

  20. Everyone: Thanks for sharing news about your local stores! :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yes, the quinns were 19.99 pre-discount.

    ReplyDelete
  23. The website hasn't been working for the last hour or so: it goes up and items are displayed but I cannot click through to the item description, and you know, possibly ORDER the item. Just shows the main pages (sweaters, etc) .....

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yes, I saw the post on the resort stuff but did not see that it was mentioned to view online. Whatever.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Anyone have any idea what the latest promotion will be after HURRY expires?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anyone place an order on 12/17 and still not receiving a "shipped" email? I am really hoping my order arrives in time for me to wear a few of the items on Christmas Eve. TIA

    ReplyDelete
  27. Wow, just saw where the Angel Down Parka I bought at Land's End went on sale even more today from when I bought it on sale on Monday. I just did the live online chat and they credited me the difference on a sale item just within minutes of typing in my order number. FANTASTIC customer service. JCrew could learn a thing or two!

Land's End has free shipping and a daily Santa pick (super reduced item) each day. The parka today is very trim fitting and a real fashion coat for anyone looking...$79

    ReplyDelete
  28. Quinn camis at Pentagon City were $19.99, with an additional 20% off.

    ReplyDelete
  29. People might make fun of Land's End style but that puffer is heads and tails about JCrew's for style and looks. That is a nice jacket for a puffer! I might order one for the price--Wow:)

    ReplyDelete
  30. I was actually thinking about going - I have some returns to make for some orders.

Also, I have been wearing their flannel pajamas bottoms and love them! They're so nice and soft. :) They're all sold out online, I'm hoping maybe my store has some.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I went to the Dallas Galleria yesterday and they had a pretty good selection of sale items. All sale items were an additional 30% off. If you are a student or teacher they will let you use the 15% discount on top of the 30% promo so be sure to take advantage.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Thanks to everyone for info on the quinn camis! I almost bought one last week when it was at $49.99 so I'm glad I waited! Can't believe how quickly it was marked down again!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I agree on the Land's End comments. Yes, some of there stuff is rather dowdy, but there are diamonds in the rough . You just gotta look for them. As for customer service, well, yeah, no, duh they are heads and tails above JC. And for the JC associates reading this, I love you all and thank you for your patience in dealing with us cranky and at times, demanding customers.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Melanie,
I am sure the stores have them. I know every year the Edina MN store seems to have racks of them they are trying to get rid off. I just walk by and don't look though but you might call them if you really want a pair. I am not into buying pj bottoms from JCrew. I go to them for unique items...pj bottoms I can get anywhere that are very nice too for less...but I do hope you find yours at JCrew if that is your passion.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Anony@9:52 Well, JCrew USED to have much better customer service. Both quality and customer service are way down in my little Mid-west girl's opinion. Land's End was so easy to deal with a few mintues ago. I mean, I didn't have to wait. Took care my refund on a sale item...I was fantastic. There is no reason JCrew can't do better.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'd just like to point out that customers wouldn't be cranky if J.Crew didn't constantly mess up orders.

  37. Hi everyone!

I am looking for a double strand jeweled flower pearl necklace (96999). It is on sale right now for 159.99. Some stores seem to have carried it, so if anyone sees it, please let me know! My email is katherinerieder@hotmail.com.

There is one on ebay right now, but it's marked up pretty significantly considering it should be around $100 right now with all the discounts.

    TIA!!

  38. I usually try to avoid stores this close to xmas, but my boyfriend still needs to finish gift shopping, so I may end up at the downtown Philly store on Saturday. The weather is probably going to be terrible, though, so I actually might end up riding my bike downtown shortly to check out the store.

    ReplyDelete
  39. (I'm reposting this from another topic.)
I remember someone was looking for the aubergine boot cut cords, but I can't remember what size. Anyway, my local store (Towson, MD) had 4 pairs last night- (2) 10R, 12R and 0R. HTH

    ReplyDelete
  40. Melanie: ITA on the J.Crew pj bottoms! I have the pink with white dots and the grey leopard print ones, and I love them. They are so cute and comfy! And I got them for about $15 each on sale :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. OT-
classic style-I know you are into the penelopes right now. Are all of yours closed toe? If peeptoe, how are you wearing in the winter? Or anyone else??

I love the look and actually the comfort of this shoe BUT how do I wear peeptoes when it is 25 degrees? Well, actually..I personally don't/won't unless it gets warmer which may mean the 40's after this cold snap!!

Wondering if you just brave it or wear tights (I am not fashion forward enough to wear those like the model did;) Kinda starting to think I should return the grey and just plan to wear the dusty rose in Spring/Summer. I do love the grey though...such decisions.

BTW-that Land's End Parka is VERY NICE and cute with the bit of satin shimmer! And for all you spearmint ladies--you can have a down puffer coat too! Never doubt something until your see/try--I bet the quality and warmth smacks it out of the ballpark as well!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I have to go to the bm today to do some returns from online ~ will report on what they have later.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Hi, Classic Style - did you ever find your Spectator peep toes in dusty rose? Hope you did!

    ReplyDelete
  44. This is pretty much wishful thinking but if anyone sees the Crystal Clasp Opaline necklace in either the blue or green, could you please put it on hold for me? you can contact me at labonneflaneuse at gmail dot com. If anyone has one or 2 they would like to part with, I'd be happy to pay you the full retail price. xoxo

  46. Bugpin,

My daughter loved the Land's End Puffer in Spearmint and wanted me to order that color! I bought the pink however....thanks for the positive comments on the coat. I am excited to get it soon:)

    ReplyDelete
  47. ^Anon 10:50-that is so random and rather presumptuous of you. I am certainly not an employee nor do I think the person posting about Lands End WORKS there but is merely mentioning a nice coat. You need to take a nappy.

    ReplyDelete
  48. bug pin: I am very into the peep toes right now, mostly because those are the j.crew shoes that fit me best (although I do have some of the juliet midheels). I have not been wearing the peep toes now because it's freezing with snow in the forecast, but I would consider wearing them on a clear day with thick opaque tights like the models do. I might try black tights with the gray, and gray or brown tights with the dusty rose. I will likely wait until it warms up a bit to try it though.

I have the graphite peep toe spectators and I think they will look fabulous in the spring with pastels like lilac, baby pink, and light spearmint. They will also be great in the fall before the weather gets too cold. I might also try the graphite with pale yellow or peach in the summer.

Overall I think the dusty rose will work more easily into the summer than the graphite, but that won't stop me from enjoying my graphite spectators immensely ;) The graphite color is so versatile ... I would hold on to them, if you can.

anon@10:39: I did fine the dusty rose peep toe spectator mary janes :) They are being shipped to me from a store. I am so excited!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. To join in, I *love* my Lands end puffer from last year. Got it on after-Xmas discount for about $70 and is extremely warm, and a great burgandy color. I *am not* a LE employee!

    ReplyDelete
  50. classic style-thank you for inspiring me and also for reminding me there actually are some beautiful Fall days where I can love my grey's. I have already forgotten with this cold, snowy weather:) So glad I asked you for feedback. I am anxious to hear about the tights action too--please report back. I wish there was a way to post IRL pics on this blog. How many of us would LOVE that?!

I also agree the grey might be nice in the spring with some of the pastels.
This is gonna sound bad coming from an aficionada but I am actually SO GLAD that I am not loving any resort. My card is still hot as a fire poker and smoking from the amount of purchases made this Fall/winter. I couldn't pass up one amazing deal after the other but it all adds up and I desperately need to STOP! Ha:)

  53. I am the initial poster about Land's End. I do NOT work there. I just really like some of their items and have shopped there since 1987. Esp. their helpful and always kind customer service reps and no time limit return policy keeps me coming back. I was just passing on the info. about a stylish puffer (or as trim and stylish as far as puffers go). Esp. Since JCrew is sold out of their long one...

    ReplyDelete
  54. *classic style*
So glad you found the dusty rose peep-toes! They are so cute. I saw another pair, in your size, at the San Diego store, but I saw you post that you had found them.

On that note, I would love them in a size 7 if anyone sees them! TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  55. If someone could find me the Maggie in a 2 for 4P in black, gray nickle, or ivory I would be eternally grateful....Since the 4 camel looked like I was wearing a brown sack, I am hoping sizing down might give me better luck.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Also, I would like to add that J. Crew is probably having way more online traffic due to their constant promotions and are not used to this...

If you've EVER worked in customer service you would probably have a bit more patience...customers can be so freaking demanding and demand perfection 100% of the time! J. Crew has messed up a few of my orders but it is fixable and not the end of the world. I just appreciate being able to afford their clothes...spoiled much people??

    ReplyDelete
  57. What about the J. Crew employees who come on here to schill? I mean, could that Hawaii person be any more transparent?

    ReplyDelete
  58. There is a Tall 2 Maggie in camel available.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I won't be visiting this weekend. Just got a call from my credit card's fraud prevention services rep - to confirm whether I still have my card in my possession! I placed five orders last night and they want to make sure the unusual activity is not a case of someone stealing my card and using it! So embarrassing!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Immature Anon @12PM
Spoiled by good customer service?? Hmmm..that's somewhat of an oxymoron and I mean moron.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Ummm...wow you really are spoiled. I was kind of kidding. Immature? I call immature getting angry at a store b/c they make a mistake. How sad and pathetic.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Christina @ 7:06, thanks for the tip and I called the store but the plum peacoat (small) did not have Thinsulate/Thermore :(. Darn!! I appreciate you posting that though b/c that's gotta be helpful to someone, I just really prefer the lining...

  63. Hi ladies - my store has a TON of candy tees, all sizes, all colors. $29.99 with the add'l 20% off. (518) 456-5902

    ReplyDelete
  64. Oh and I have to agree w/ Anon @ 12:00 b/c I have worked in customer service.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I was curious as to whether anyone has tried the Onyx Sequin dress? Is the merino the same material as the featherweight material? Anyone know what it feels like? TY in advance for you advice.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Hi Everyone! Thanks to everyone who shared news about their local stores. :)

Westport, CT store is having 20% off all items (both sale and regular). They also had a bunch of those small bow patent headbands (in all colors) for $14. They had a few Duchess-dots pencil skirt for $139.99 too.

Lastly, let's try to keep the comments non-personal. I know I have said this before, but I honestly think there is a lot we can learn from each other, in a positive way. :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. Anony@12 is a jerk. I mean really it is called CUSTOMER service for a reason. Other stores have even more and better promos and are slammed with orders this time of year as well. In 25 years I have never had a nasty CS rep from Land's End or LLBean. And in about 15 years from Old Navy and GAP and BR. I have had so many (too many) rude, slow and non friendly reps from JCrew. Even in stores...snooty salesclerks. Why do I keep coming back...b/c the clothes fit me and I have trouble finding stuff that fits me.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Help!!!! My Maggie coat I ordered is mocking me. It keeps telling me how beautiful the fabric is and how stylish it is. But, it really just doesn't look right on me. Oh, Maggie, how you mock me.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Agreed with Alexis. She is doing us all a wonderful thing by hosting this blog. She is not here to babysit us. At all times - but especially at this time, during the holidays - can't we all just show a little bit of respect for the variety of opinions held, and the insights shared, on this site?

    ReplyDelete
  70. Bug Pin: I have to know if you took advantage of the new sale price of the Bug Pin? Will you be sporting your namesake piece of jewelry on your collar, purse, ? I ordered one - I couldn't resist - and it was $20 with discounts. Can't wait to show it to my fellow J. Crew aficionadas here...

    ReplyDelete
  71. Anon @ 1:01 - that was a hilarious post.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Any opinions on the Long Beckett leather flat boots. They seem to fit better with a thick sock on the inside, but the leather is a bit too soft.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Maggie is still mocking me, and the purple Lille coat makes me look like Violet in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when she blew up into a blueberry.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Ann Arbor store is 20% off all merch. Prices aren't as good as online though, and I'm finally all bought out! (After yesterday's order that is.) But I was in doing a few returns, so I had to browse.
In store there was the candy ts in all colors including pink which is sold out online, and Lille coats which I noticed Jeff was still looking for for his sister. 734-662-6630.
OT, there's tons of sick markdowns on shoes at BM, I was in JC returning heels, and was sad, until I went into BM and got a classic pair of black leather peep toes for 27$. Tons of flats, heels, and wedgies in patent, leather and suede were to be had for like $22 and up.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Anon at 1:01 - if you don't love it, return it. Something else will come along...

I keep checking the site hoping someone will return a size 4 Maggie in black or ivory.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Does anyone have the matchstick jeans in crisp blue? If so, how is the fit? I am a 2R in the bootcut cords, and ordered a size 27. I was debating btw the 26 and the 27, as I usu buy 26 in premium denim(7famk, citizens), due to the stretch-out factor--but the 26's were sold out and the size chart said to go with the 27's. I just searched for some reviews and think I should have ordered >1 pair for sizing, but now the 27's are sold out, too!

Thoughts? I know different washes fit differently.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Anon at 1:01~

I feel your pain. Maggie mocked me as well. It looked like I was wearing a potato sack :(

    ReplyDelete
  78. Anon @ 12 here...wow...calling me a jerk was extremely rude, esp. since I'm a very nice person (the Internet can be such a bathroom wall). I'm actually trying to stay positive here - I understand their c.s. has issues, but by being mean and hateful you are not helping the issue. LIGHTEN UP!!!

    ReplyDelete
  79. LOL to Anon at 1:11 pm :)! Smile everyone!!!!! :) :) :)

    ReplyDelete
  80. Question on the candy tees - do you find that the beads come off easily? I saw some in my B&M that have some missing beads and it worried me...

    ReplyDelete
  81. Kendra, I found them TTS. I am consistently 28 in all J crew pants- cords, denim. They don't stretch as severe as cords do, so if you 2 you are probably 27. My friend is 00 and she gets 25. I am 4 and 27 were too tight on me.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Kendra, in premium jeans I am 29, so you need 26, not 27.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Another question to go along with Katie's about candy tees...how do you wash them?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Is the 20% off everything in store combined with the student discount?

    ReplyDelete
  85. Haha on the Maggie mocking posts! The Maggie looks fab on me, but when I saw all those lovey dovey posts on the Lea sweater, I went to check it out. At 5'-10", that sweater would look terrible on me, lol.

No matter how beloved an item is, it will never work on everyone. I'm just glad J Crew makes things that look great on all of us. The variety they offer is underrated, and they really deserve kudos for that.

On a separate note, has anyone tried the new vintage wash bootcut jeans? Any tips on how they fit would be much appreciated.

    ReplyDelete
  86. smarty: I wash mine in a mesh lingerie bag inside out, and they come out fine. If you do not have a mesh bag, a pillowcase tied in a knot will do as well. I have done both with no problems.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Is there something going on the 19th-21st about 40% off ??? I thought I read that on an earlier post, is it true?

    ReplyDelete
  88. Katie: I have 2 candy tees, I haven't had any problems with the beads or sequins staying on.

The metallic crest tee however needs to be hand washed or else the metallic silver rubs off in case anyone is wondering.

    ReplyDelete
  89. JINGLE is no longer working.:((( or may be :))) so I won't spend anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Blumre--

The merino on the onyx dress is thicker than the featherweight merino (thank god). it's actually a very nice dress, but the neckline was just no good for me.

    ReplyDelete
  91. *casual-crew*
Thank you for your advice on the candy tees! Sounds easy enough. I also have a metallic crest tee I haven't washed yet, so I appreciate the info on that too. Thanks again!

    ReplyDelete
  92. Slastena-

Thanks for your help! I guess I'll have to wait and see if the 27's fit. Did you find that yours stretched a lot?

I called and tried to do a 'we will find it' for the 26's, but they said that they don't do it for sale items : (

I will keep stalking the website : ) It's probably for the best, anyways- I own too many pairs of jeans already!

    ReplyDelete
  93. anon: 2:12-
I just went to my B&M (Willowbend)and they would not let me stack my student discount with the 20%! I was so pissed b/c I do this all the time at other B&Ms near me. I didn't buy the item and will probably go the Galleria. They have a better selection and better service.

    ReplyDelete
  94. casual-crew: as smarty said, thank you for the info on the metallic crest tee...i usually hand wash jcrew's embellished tees but might have thrown the metallic one in the wash figuring the metallic stuff would be really stuck on their like most of the "painted on" graphics. thanks again!

in other news...just wanted to report that my HOHOHO order arrived this week and was successful. not only was everything i ordered there, i really love everything i bought...many items are sold out now so i'm glad i acted when i did. i have one more order coming from the weekend (i think the EXTRA20 promo)...i'm hopeful! :)

  95. anyone have the antonia dress from last summer? i don't remember ever seeing it... how does it fit? looks short... is it real short? tts, or are the arms tight? does the back dip too low to wear a real bra.
    any feedback is appreciated, thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  96. oh the antonia was a linen shift with 3/4 length sleeves.
its on we sale site right now in tangerine... VERY bright, but I might try it anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Katie, I wanted to reply that the beads stay in place just fine. And then I touched the beads and some of them started falling out :(((( May it is because I machine washed it, but I did put on the delicate cycle. I guess to prevent this in the future I will have to hand wash it.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Kendra, mine stretched some, but I haven't washed them yet- may be they will shrink back. Color is very pretty, was very excited when I got them ( I paid $70+), but do not regret.:)

  99. Somebody was asking about the confirmation and shipping emails. I did not get a confirmation email about the order I placed on Sunday. I got an email today that the order was shipped. I had an item that was due to ship on the 18th so this explains why the order is being shipped 4 days after I placed it.
I did not get any confirmation for an order I placed on Monday, 12/15. It has not been shipped yet.
I did get the confirmation email for the order I placed yesterday.
For the order I placed last week there was no tracking number in the shipping email and I had to call CS to get it.
When I called the customer service about this a CS rep told me that they get super busy with the orders sometimes they do not send confirmation emails.
I usually track my order status online anyway.

  102. I placed 6 JINGLE orders yesterday and got email confirmation for each. CS says they are totally swamped - 6,800 orders yesterday!! Is that possible?

I'm hoping my 6 orders will get here by Christmas! According to the website, orders with standard shipping will be delivered by Christmas if they are placed before Dec 19, 9 p.m. EST.

    JINGLE no longer works!

    ReplyDelete
  103. anon at 3:05pm. Of course it is possible. Some people were buying just one item they really wanted to take an advantage of free shipping.
    I myself placed only 1 order. :)

    ReplyDelete
  104. Kendra: Hope it fits! I'm in the same boat. I'm a regular 2 and P4 in pants but am not sure about these jeans. I ordered 27 and 28. Would have ordered 26 too but they were sold out yesterday. I'd need mine hemmed for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Anon@3.03: The lexington is available NOW!

    ReplyDelete
  106. I could totally believe the 6,800 orders yesterday. I do NOT believe the CS who said they had 52,000 in one day. yeah right.

    ReplyDelete
  107. on the subject of order confirmations, i don't always get them either...since the upgrade i've only gotten order confirmations maybe 3 or 4 times out of about 10 orders. thanks anon@3:01 for letting us know that it's just because they're busy with orders (i was hoping that's all it was). I thought it was automatic though?? i do however, always get a shipping confirmation and make sure the order is in the jcrew system online...

    ReplyDelete
  108. 52,000 does not sound right. Although it did feel like thousands of people were shopping online and over the phone – the site was down and it was impossible to get a CS rep on the phone because they had a high number of calls.

    ReplyDelete
  109. ccbmum: I have had problems with missing email confirmations in the past. CS put me through to the technical folks, who asked me to go online to delete and re-enter my email address in my account info. No more missing email confirmations ever since. HTH!

  110. I have the antonia dress in flame and recently got the other one in brushstroke...I got P0, its not short at all, almost to the knee. Fits well, a lil roomier in the hips. Love the fabric, very soft, get loads of compliments when I where it. I'm still not sure about the other color, brushstroke, its more subtle but the fabric is not the same. Its a lot rougher and thicker. There's a good chance it will be returned.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Oh the back is not too low at all, it looks crazy low on the model but you dont have to do any major undergarment accommodations like you'd think from seeing the picture

    ReplyDelete
  112. anon@3:13 - thanks! i'll try that :)

    ReplyDelete
  113. thanks! i wish they had the one that is shown on the model... it might be flame? it also has navy in it.. it's a lot darker colors.... i really love the print but especially with those colors. i don't think the tangerine will be the same

    ReplyDelete
  114. ccbmum & anon: I did the same and it works for me in terms of getting the email confirmations. I did mess it up one time when I tried to change the password. I was trying to think of a good password when I got called away. The session timed out and when I got back, I was locked out because my account no longer had a password! Had to call technical support to fix it.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Anon@3.16 - that print is lovely! I have the antonia dress, the quincy cami and a short sleeve sweater in the same print. Talk abt overkill! But it's such a pretty print and I get compliments each time. The tangerine is really loud and fuzzy looking, IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Anon 308 gone! I missed it :( thanks though I had CS do a store search on it but haven't heard back yet.

  117. I think that what JCrew meant to say was that they had 52,000 and 6,800 BOTCHED orders.

    ReplyDelete

haha, I think anon at 3:08 is mocking you.

  119. Wow, I see the Victoria ruffle cami is sold out in fuschia in all sizes ~ so glad I ordered when I did, hope to actually receive it. The Walnut Creek store did not have a whole lot in the sale section, but the entire store was 20% off (sale and reg.merchandise).

the onyx dress isn't itchy at all. its actually very soft.

i love it, although i am still trying to figure out what to do about the neckline

  121. Hi Everyone - My mom and I were looking for the stormy tweed lille coat in size 0 for my sister-in-law for xmas. We both ended up finding them, and only needed one obviously, so there is currently one on hold under my mom's name (Sally) at the atrium mall in chestnut hill. their number is 617-332-0122.

I hope someone can take it! It is 179.99 with an additional 20% off.

  122. Kendra: I have the crisp blue matchsticks. I wear a size 6 in the cords, khakis, shorts, etc.

I purchased the crisp blue matchstick jeans in 29 and 30. The 30 was too big, and the 29's fit perfect. I've actually worn them two times (I have them on right now!) and they don't have the stretched-out-already-worn look. I think these jeans are the best! They actually make me feel so much better about my body because they fit so well. Also, I have not needed to wear a belt to hold these up, and they are absolutely fantastic for wearing with boots. HTH!

  123. bugpin~

I noticed on Chloe's blog that you got both of the droopy flower astrid. I got the pink and am waiting for it so I can starch the crap out of the flower. I am actually considering purchasing the charcoal too bc the price is right but I wasn't sure if it would look to gothic on me with the black flower(I am very fairy skinned, dark hair, you get the idea). How do you like the charcoal version as compared to the pink? I just want to get an idea of the color before i pull the trigger....

    ReplyDelete
  124. Shoot, what I meant to say was I've worn them two times without washing them & they don't look saggy at all. Also, I don't own any other JCrew jeans, just some Gap jeans. Sorry, I'm rushing, not much time to type!

    ReplyDelete
  125. Blumre-

I didn't think it was itchy at all. I thought it was good that it was thicker because it drapes better that way and is decent at hiding unwanted bumps. Just to let you know, it is pretty TTS but the chest area runs a little small.
    HTH!

    ReplyDelete
  126. anon @ 416- Thanks so much! Did you buy them online or @ the B&M? I hope they fit!! They look soft, not rigid like some of the other washes.

Also, what size do you usually wear in other brands (im obsessing now..) ?

  127. IMPORTANT INFO THOUGH I WOULD REITERATE ON METALLIC CREST TEE! I just wanted to make sure everyone that owns this tee knows this because I personally NEVER would have read the directions and mine would be ruined. This tee is hand was only and lay flat to dry! I know the anon poster from several posts ago mentioned her crest came off and now casual crew mentioned the hand wash too. That's important as this tee would not strike anyone as something you could not wash in the machine and dry. It's rather ridiculous and I am bummed because I love the tee:)

    ReplyDelete
  128. kendra: Looks like we're both right on the money - hope my 27 fits. Too bad the 26 was sold out. I was willing to order three sizes to get this one right. It looks so soft and the color is pretty and unusual for today's jeans.

    ReplyDelete
  129. JeneEsq
The charcoal IMO is very different as it is going to be more classic, Chanel and not as jazzy as the hot pink. I have varying flowers that I picked up that really make it cool and I think you can make it look less matronly for sure (that word has been used to describe it-I don't find that at all). A hot pink turtleneck sweater underneath with layers of pearls etc. and matchstick jeans and boots--how can u go wrong-darling! Go for it-you can always return it and free shipping!
FYI-They actually told me earlier today when I had to re-order boots in diff sz that all orders get expedited shipping right now for the holiday.

  130. So, does anyone know if you can use the student discount on top of 20% off in stores? And any predictions on whether there will be a new promo this weekend? I am tempted to buy two dresses from the resort collection, but feel like I should hold out for a better deal!

  131. Katie - washing cady tees... I have washed all of my ringspun tees (even the rose one) in the washer on the "hand wash" cycle. It has worked really well. On my washer this is the lowest setting, one below gentle. HTH

  132. Has anyone tried the Maria ruffle cardigan? Is it tts?

    Thanks for any info :)

    ReplyDelete
  133. Yes, the Maggie was not for me either...a definite no my friend and hubby both said when I tried it on for a different opinion. I am returning both colors. The Camel washed me out and the gray was nothing special. I have a gray with ruffle trim jacket from a few years ago from JCrew and it is fab!

  134. Got my Jan. 09 issue of Instyle Magazine and there is an article about Keri Russell on page 121. In a couple of the pics she is wearing J.Crew items. A cardigan on p.123 looks to be the merino lili ruffle-chiffon cardi in a color combo I haven't seen. Also a shirt on p.124.
She looks gorgeous as usual! I *love* the outfit with the cardi. don't have a scanner otherwise I would scan it for everyone!

  135. **** Thank you JCREW ! *** for processing my crazy Jingle orders at light speed!

I made some 7~8 Jingle orders (-yeah I went completely out of my mind-) and to my surprise, all of them got tracking numbers within a day without any item getting canceled. yay!

I was very anxious after placing this many orders, because I needed to receive them all before 24th. But the outlook looks pretty good at this point, and I am really very happy! I can totally see that JCrew is trying hard to process orders much faster than usual, which I really appreciate.

Btw, I think the reason why nothing got canceled from my orders is simply because I didn't order anything that was particularly low on stock. I learned this from my past experience - if I order something that appears and disappears everyday, chances are those will be canceled. Moreover, an order containing such item tends to get delayed with processing.

  136. Hi, have been away for a while and too busy to shop online. Any thoughts on what happened to the jewelry online? Selection is way down and new items with hefty markdown only a couple of weeks aftr they went live? Could this spell the doom for the controversial jewels??? Can't even open the sale items link for any jewelry. Interesting.

  137. Bug Pin & Others: The Metallic Crest Tee is HAND WASH ONLY, I have 2 of them (bought on sale), I hand washed 1 of them, it came out perfect, threw the 2nd one in the washer on delicate cycle, it faded alot, and the metallic rubbed off.

I usually do not hand wash tees, this one you have to. I am glad that I had a messed up order and got a second tee to make up for my mistake.

  139. someone returned the shimmy dress (the white silk one with the ruffles all over it and the black silk thing that ties around the waist) and i got it for $80!!! it was marked down to $170, and it was an additional 30% off, and it had a little tear by the button so they gave me another 20% off, plus my student discount and WOAH. i can't even believe i found one in my size.

  140. Ladies that own last years Lexington:

Did you have button issues? If so, was it just the front buttons or the buttons on the sleeves too? I'm thinking of having the buttons reinforced, but I could see that being super expensive.

  141. kater,

i really wanted the stormy lille tweed coat but gave up after i couldn't find it in the 0 and i got the alabaster and platinum tweed instead=( but now that you say there's one on hold at the atrium...how warm is it? would it be enough for new england winters? and it says generous fit? did you find that its true to size or sized a bit big? thanks so much!!

    ReplyDelete
  142. suilove - i wouldn't say it's the warmest coat ever. It's not heavily lined or anything like that. I think below 40 degrees, it's not going to be enough.

it is however, the cutest coat I have seen in a LONG time. and I personally think it runs pretty big. Size down from the size you were buying in jcrew LAST year. That has been the norm with me for them for awhile though. For example, I took the same size in the stormy tweed as I did in the lucille.

I really think you can't go wrong with this coat! HTH!

  149. Yes, I agree with TACKY Jewelry. I would love for the jewelry to go away and for them to concentrate on the clothes and improving quality. The stuff is big and ugly. I would not wear 95% of it. Some of the smaller pieces seem OKish but really TACKY! and not worth the high price tag. (I bought several pieces and returned all but one in the course of 3 years.)

  151. I actually like some of J.Crew jewelry pieces. I am wearing a new pink garden ring and getting compliments from everybody. My friend at lunch just told : "Wow! Such a nice ring, great statement. If you wear it you do not need to wear anything else". I think she meant I do not need to wear any other jewelry pieces but we started laughing because it sounded like I do not need any clothing with the ring because it grabs all the attention anyways. :)
    It is a fun piece.

    ReplyDelete
  152. I actually like the jewelry and have gotten many compliments. My favorite is the chartreuse starfish bracelet from the summer + starfish earrings. I have had some issues where the goldplate wears off after one wearing, whereas I did not have that from 2006 jewelry.

My other favorite is the double strand necklaces with flowers which I have in honey glaze and rose. I never did pick up the double strand pearls with flower and I am sorry I never got around to it.

I think that the quality has remained roughly the same with some good and some bad. I guess you would get that anywhere you shopped.

  154. Received a Maggie in 4T today and it looks great! I ordered T just because ivory was sold out in regular, but I think the longer cut helps reduce the boxiness for me. Just a tip for anyone who has a chance to try a T. PS, my online personal shopper called today b/c they had a 4 in Black in "very limited inventory" if anyone wants to take a shot at it - that was about an hour ago. I just didn't want to have to choose between more colors. :)

    ReplyDelete
  160. tacky jewelry - I'm with you, the jewelry just doesn't cut it for me. I'm not a fan of costume jewelry anyway, but half the stuff from JCrew seems like stuff you would buy at a discount store.

  161. I am still having problems with my orders. One order I placed with overnight shipping showed up late and when it did show up it was two items short. Two gift items! I wouldn't mind as much if the missing items were for myself. JCrew credited my CC but still... one Merino sequin chiffon shell in honey, XS: $99.99

    Pailette cardigans: $89.99

Cashmere argyle cardigan with sparkling buttons, different colors/patterns: $119.99 (I picked up a pretty heather grey, cream & grass green combo in S)

Quinn cami, good color selection, mainly larger sizes: $19.99

Victoria ruffle cami, size 2 & 4 in Navy: $59.99

PJ tops are now $15.00 from $24.50

Printed Lace trim tank, it looks like ochre color, lots of sizes: $9.99

A few tissue sequin tanks, I think for $39.99

    tons of various tees

lots of sweaters, not just in the sale section but throughout the store

An assortment of shoes, already out in boxes, mainly sizes 7 and up

It is a lovely jacket, I really liked it. I did not get it at the time b/c I have no need for this style jacket ( have similar ones), but overall I recommend it highly. I recommend down sizing one size. 2fit me like a glove (I am usually 4). I posted some real life pics at my blog some time ago if interested.

I just got the Glenbrae knee high boots (with the high heel). I was going to try and wear my pants tucked in, but they just end up bunching up. What kind of pants do you wear when you tuck them into boots - do they have to be skinny/matchstick? How do you tuck them all the way in and not have them fold over and bunch up?

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  174. To the person who ordered the Phoebe. I have it and adore it. I don't think it's over the top because of the grey/black color and the houndstooth pattern. Great with jeans, a white or grey tank (I like it, too with my black sequin placket tee) and black boots or my peep toe patent heels from 2 years ago. Also looks lovely over a plain lbd or my black serge skirt. I like this a hundred times better than the metallic green giraffe jacket. When you receive it, play dress up with other items in your closet. Start easy with neutrals like white, black or grey pieces in your closet. I love it! Best wishes!

  176. Dream tie-neck cardigan:

I was initially hesitant to order this sweater as I thought the tie would annoy me, but I ordered it anyway because I really wanted a sweater in light spearmint (I had returned 2 sweaters in this color already) and I saw a cute set with the sweater on Polyvore (may have been Slastena).

Fit is tts and is also a bit fitted as advertised, but not nearly as fitted as the Melanie cardigan. It does hit at hip.

Soft to the touch and I think it has a warm, wintery feeling to it.

The only other thing I want to mention is that the pocket ends are loosely attached inside by braided sweater fabric. This was not a turn off for me, just interesting.

Overall, I loved it so much that I also ordered the Joelle flats to match.

    HTH

  179. starla729 :
Funny you have asked, I got it today in a Spearmint and sz S. Fit is TTS. I am S in cardigans and XS in crewnecks ,so it's just a bit loose (good for full chested gals to prevent gaping). Very soft, thick and plush. Almost did not feel like a reg. Dream yarn- which I have few sweaters in and which pills incredibly. I believe it's a thicker gauge ( yes, it is , 5 vs reg.12, I just checked) hence that plush feeling. Color is fresh and bright and I adored oversized brown buttons. Cardigan was perfect with my Acorn cords.
Exremely pleased with it and planning to wear tomorrow. Highly recommend!

  181. To Snow at 9:05. My package from last week has done the same thing. It came from Va. to Jacksonville, Fl and should have delivered straight to me in So Fl. Instead it went to Il, Mo then back to Chicago. UPS told me that Jcrew must have put two labels on the box. Jcrew said it was UPS fault that it missed being scanned. That is too strange that your package did the same route. Jcrew is doing something to screw these shipments up.

    ReplyDelete
  182. Ok, so far I've clicked on seven sale items, and for every one of them, it says sold out. If so, then why have them up on the site? J.Crew really needs to get its act together.

    ReplyDelete
  183. Tammylee,

The boots are super stylish, and I love the darker brown color. They slip on, and have some space around the calf. They are big enough in the calf that if you put them under jeans they will show and the jeans catch on the top of the boot. So, you pretty much have to tuck your pants in. I tried tucking in my bootcut cords and even they bunched up. I'm going to take my boots tomorrow to J. Crew and try them with matchsticks. The boots are comfie, and have good soles with grip.

  184. report from boston Copley: large sale section still with peacoats, jewel button cardigans, skinny patent belts, various skirts, and lots of cords. one floppy flower boucle astrid. cable slippers and a big bin of socks. many glitter crest tee, candy tees, and sequin henleys. had a sale shoe section including some dusty rose maryjanes.

    20% off entire store.

  185. I received the Decade Dot blazer today and gotta say that I love it! Sleeves are supposed to be bracelet, but are too long because I am short/petite so I will need to get the shoulders taken up. (There is one button at the cuff, so hemming at wrist is not an acceptable option to me.)

Fabric is beautiful. Its a textured weave. It has a hint of blue. There is also a gold thread that does not show in the photos but is really nice IRL, IMHO.

I am a sometimes 6, sometimes 8. I ordered a 6 in this jacket and thought that the fit through the shoulders and bust were perfect. Jacket did not appear boxy, as some others have commented.

Totally worth the sale price of $149.

  186. thanks for your review slastena! sounds like exactly what i hoped... plush and cozy!

  187. Argyle and Tammylee: I have the Glenbrae boots in suede (flat). You probably need to stick with a slimmer leg jean/pant, either matchstick or something similar. I wear my Old Navy skinny jeans tucked in. The trick is to wear mid calf or knee high socks and tuck your jeans/pants into those before putting the boots on. I fold mine over around my ankle and then slip the socks over the bottom of the jean....voila! the boots should slip on easily and they shouldn't scrunch up around your knees as the day goes on. Good luck! I love my flat suede Glenbraes so much, I ordered the Camel leather high heel ones and they are shipping tomorrow.

  189. Just wanted to let anyone who's interested know that I was at the Westfarms store today (CT) and they had the elusive Storybook Charm Bracelet. I believe there was only 1, and it looked like a return from an online order to me because it had a big white tag on it like you'd find on an item of clothing, instead of one of those little gold tags with the thread. It was placed upside down so I couldn't see what the price was, unfortunately. I wish this bracelet was not resin links, but a metal so it would make it stand out more. I feel bad even thinking about buying a resin (plastic) charm bracelet for that much money! PS - why do they always flip the jewelry price tags down so you can't see what the price is?! That kinda frustrates me sometimes....

  190. They flip the jewelry tags so you have to ask an SA what the price is and then they can sell you on it. Happens at all stores, not just JC, but it's annoying.

  193. Believe it. I saw quite a few navy victoria cami today, at $59, plus 20% off!

  194. $125 for the storybook bracelet and once again WAY OVER PRICED for what you get....

I just can't believe people actually pay good money for cheap, costume jewelry. Is it just b/c it says JCrew?

  200. Hi all,

I've had a sad exp w both the jewelry & the billing process. Some of this may be a double-post, hope that's ok.

I had ordered a few of the stone bead necklaces over the red phone on Sunday. They weren't in the store; but I got to use my red card & they sent them free ship which I thought was a good deal. So much so that I bought a few as gifts. Then, the trouble started.

First JC billed the wrong method of payment & sent it to the wrong address. I notice this when I rec'v my email confirmation. I call up & they say "I apologise for the trouble etc. " & promise to fix. Then I get the shipping confirmation, still the wrong billing info. I call again, "I apologise..." etc.etc. & they promise to fix it. Still going to check my statement to make sure I didn't pay interest on this little slip up. Today the shipment arrived -- Only one necklace! Oh & one of those "bonus slap in the face" cards from Mickey about how glad they are that I continue to be loyal - eeep!

I call up & the nice CS says that they can "Probably" get the other necklaces to me in time for x-mas. I'm sure that she's trying her best, but I'm just done with this whole experience. Thanks all the same, but I don't want my friends catching "JCREW-itis".

Now, I have worked retail for over a decade. I understand completely that the person on the phone is not responsible for the computer support / shipping services & etc. I try to remain patient & polite because I know that they are trying to help. That said, someone higher up the chain really needs to re-examine the system. It would be great if I just got the stuff I ordered. So Mickey, please no more notes!!!

As for this weekend... Like FFM & Melanie, I'll be going to the B&M to return some things (inc. one rather forlorn necklace). Since my local SA'a are always amazing, I expect to have good things to write soon!

    Good luck everyone,

    Heather:D
