Quick follow up to the "J.Crew Shares Their Thanks {mailed promotion} :)" post...
"Thanks!" to so many of you who let us know that the red card can be used (1) multiple times and (2) in addition to the store's "additional percent off" sale.
A few stores may allow the red card to be used with the educator and student discounts, but most do not.
Also, "thanks!" to audball (in this post) who shared with us the following:
FYI for anyone who relinquished their 25% discount card: I sent an email to JC asking if anything could be done for those people who gave up the card. It appears that the card is meant to be used multiple times. I had my receipt from when I used the 25% discount card code number is there on receipt from the scan.
In any case, here was their response:
"We regret to inform you that we are unable to send another discount card to you at this time. You may use the coupon number from your receipt to make additional purchases with the 25% discount. Should any questions arise while you are making your in-store purchase, a retail associate may contact our customer service department for clarification. Thank you for choosing J.Crew."
I think this promotion is a wonderful one! I have already used the card many times and have seen lots of customers (at various J.Crew stores) using their cards as well. I am also happy to hear that customers who were asked to relinquish their cards can still be able to use the promotion (via receipt). :)
A super big "thanks!" goes to bixbysgirl who shared with us the online code for the red card. Considering previous experiences with the JUSTASK and the QETUOXVN123 codes (which were pulled a day or two after being publishing on this site) it was decided that it was better to not feature the news on the main page of the post. To view the online code, click here. If possible, please discretely share the code so it will not be pulled early. :)
ReplyDeleteI've used my 25% red card last weekend, so if anybody is still looking for one to use at their B&M, I can post mine. Please email me at margotreine@yahoo.com if interested.
ReplyDeletealexis
ReplyDeletehow can we use this code? i thought it was instore only?
I have spent so much money recently at J.Crew (and over the past year) that I'm embarassed. Yet, I have not received the 25% off red card or any of the thank you gifts from J.Crew. What gives???
ReplyDeletethis code works online. i just checked! only it can't be combined in addt to 20% promo. i was hoping to get the great deals that everyones getting instore with the 25% coupon. oh well. i was so happy when i opened the mail and saw this card last week, but it was right before company was coming over and i was mad dash clearing the clutter and must have accidentally thrown it away!!! NO!! now i can't bring myself to go shop knowing the money i could've saved. too bad for jcrew but good for me, i guess. i did email jcrew after i saw how much everyone was saving instore to get a new card and they pretty much said no, but there will be more promotions this week for me to take advantage of. whatever!
ReplyDeleteI had no clue that I could use mine online as I live nowhere near a B&M. Thank you so much for the valuable info. I was really feeling slighted! :)
ReplyDeleteI just used the code online to purchase a Cashmere Turtleneck Sweater (Putty, Size Small) and the Chiffon-florette cardigan (Hthr Chalk) size small. 25% off is so much better than 20% off! Every little bit helps. Thanks so much for posting this Alexis! :)
ReplyDeletei'm so confused. how do you use it online? i had to give mine up in the store. can i use the code on my receipt?
ReplyDeleteAnon at 11:33AM & BKP: To view the online code, click *here*. It will take you to an image where the code is on the bottom. I hope this helps. :)
ReplyDelete(I used an image so search engines cannot find the code, since it is not text). Also, if possible, please discretely share the code so it will not be pulled early. :)
Thanks so much Alexis!! I used my 25% off card and they took it from me before I read about it on this blog- or I would have requested it back. I still have my receipt, so thank you!!
ReplyDeleteAlexis: THANKS so much for the online code! I don't live near a B&M, so I too was bummed. Just placed an order and it worked! YEAH! Yes, I agree - 25% is better than 20% and every little bit helps!
ReplyDeleteAudball: THANKS FOR FORWARDING THAT INFO!!!
ReplyDeleteThey took the 25% off card from me but I kept the receipt from that purchase so hopefully that's good enough !
Great to know that those who lost their cards can still get the special promotion again! :)
ReplyDeleteI used this code, but it doesn't seem like such a good deal when you can't combine it. i always seem to be able to combine discounts in store. (student or additional percent off sale) but using it online you can't also use the holiday code, additional percent off sale or student discount!
ReplyDeletethe only reason i bought something with this code was that the item is already on waitlist and i'm not sure it will even be shipped out to me!
Thank you so much for the online code! I got a red card, but mailed it to another Aficionada because I'm nowhere close to a B&M store. Now I can get the discount too!
ReplyDeleteOT, but does anyone own the Dream Tie-Neck Cardigan? I am thinking about ordering it and am not sure on the size! Does it fit TTS or should I size up or down? Also, what sizing would you compare this sweater to? Thanks in advance!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! What a cool idea to make it an image link like that, Alexis. Hope it lasts longer than the other codes!
ReplyDeleteMelanie: Thanks! :) Bixbysgirl was kind enough to send me the code on Friday. I waited to post the code for two days in order to figure out the best way to share it without delay- the image was the best I could come up with.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, I just google searched the code and found it has already been published (an hour after I posted the comment/code too). Oh well! I figured it was a matter of time before it got out there. ;) Hopefully it won't expire before its time. :)
Also, "thanks" again to Bixbysgirl!
thanks bixbygirl :)
ReplyDeletei have to say btw, for all the people complaining about not receiving red cards -- j.crew, which previously would forget to send me catalogs altogether, somehow managed to send me a $25 of $125 card in a catalog, and not one but two red 25% off cards, all in the period of 2 weeks. tres bizarre. but, i guess i'll take it :)
OT: MAC is offering free shipping w/ no minimum until midnight tonight with code: MACGIFTS
ReplyDeleteHappy shopping!
As one of the unlucky few who did not receive this magical red card, I refuse to spend any $ at JC until the cards expire. Take that, JCrew! :(
ReplyDeleteCan anyone help with the fit of the stretch ponte ruffle dress? (currently on sale for about 118)
ReplyDeleteI am between a 4 and 6 in jcrew and I was wondering about how it fit in the bust and the length compared to other dresses. i know I could call and ask for the measurments, but i don't know what to compare it to. so if anyone else has any feedback i would be much appreciated!
i am usually a 4 in jcrew dresses, but the embossed beach dress from last summer was tight in my chest in a four. so the high neckline has me wondering. i also don't want to just order the 6 as i don't want it to be too long. i think sometimes jcrew dresses hit at a weird length below the knee. i'd prefer if it hit the knee at least. (i'm not short at 5'9" either)
i can't just order both and try on because i am overseas and have my stuff shipped to me. so what i get has to work.
on another odd note when i checked the quantity, i could only order 12 in a six, but there were 99 in a 4. i found this odd, and think it must be off- just like their other problems with the number in stock being off.
I know this is a long post, but if anyone can help i would be SO THANKFUL!
Bixbysgirl and Alexis;
ReplyDeletethanks so much for posting! It is, indeed, great benefit for those who do not live near b&m store and defnitely a better deal then currently offered promo. I assume it's a no minimum code, which makes it even better.:)Oh, no, I forgot about ourageous shipping charges, too bad.:(
Does anyone have thoughts on the Paradise jacquard Clea jacket? It looks kind of fun.
ReplyDeleteOT-Does anyone know FOR SURE about the taxes on shipping? I have read several posts about that topic here over time but it makes NO sense to me. I have NEVER seen any other online retailer charge me tax on shipping. Then again--I usually get free shipping-Ha! Just thought of that!
ReplyDeleteI am very curious--it is NUTS when you see the amount that goes into your bottom line total (add to it S/H taxes!)
daisy i think it looks cute too! i haven't had the chance to try it on, my only reservation would be it looks like it would be short like a lot of the other jackets they have out right now. i just can't stand a short jacket! that fabric is nice though!
ReplyDeleteAnon 3:40...thanks for your opinion. I just talked to a CS rep who went to the mock store to check out the jacket. She said it's very shimmery and reminds her of pjs! I thought that was an interesting comment!

ReplyDeleteMetallic Houndstooth Phoebe jacket is darling on and the price rocks at $129.99 plus % off! Great for Holidays and just a sat night out:)
ReplyDeleteOT (sorry)
ReplyDeleteHas anyone tried handwashing the Victoria ruffle cami? I hate constantly paying for dry cleaning, but I'm wondering if it would mess all the pleats up. I used to be fine handwashing the Elizabeth halter. Any suggestions?
I would NOT wash this cami--way too much intricacy going on there and not sure it would ever look the same (unless you are patient with an iron;)
ReplyDeleteoff topic - Does anyone have any thoughts on the Primrose Garden bracelet. I ordered one but it's so big, I can't decide if I like it enough. I would love some input. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this. I haven't used my card yet because an associate tried to take it away from me after a small purchase--she was nice and voided the purchase, and I wound up using my teacher discount instead. Maybe I'll get to use the online version, although I can't say I trust the website.
ReplyDeleteThanks again!
So I am going to try and hold off as long as possible to order...maybe the deals will get better:)
ReplyDeleteoh, so i guess i shouldn't be all excited that i happened to receive TWO cards in the same mailer...
ReplyDeleteAs long as the 25% card is around the deals will not get much better until after the card expires. Do you really want to risk another turkey fiasco if you wait to order days before christmas?
ReplyDeleteThis is to those lucky few who received 2 cards. Would you be willing to send it to someone who doesn't have one?
ReplyDeleteI bet the fiasco is still going on...
ReplyDeleteOT-
ReplyDeleteBoden lovers--if you don't already know--they are having up to 60% off womens, mini and baby--some great deals to be had;)www.bodenusa.com
OT - Occasionaly someone will mention that they've "checked stock" and can see how many of an item are available (supposedly). I'm curious - HOW do you check stock on an item on-line?? THANKS!
ReplyDeleteanyone has a 25% card to spare? if you do, please contact me at irenech@rogers.com...tia
ReplyDeleteand also did any canadian receive the 25% card?
Elizabeth: In the quantity box type in a high number i.e. 99 and the actual stock will appear. Please note that the phone orders do not minus the inventory by 1 until hrs later, so if the inventory is low some phone orders maybe ahead of you. Priority is determined by order #s and overnight shipping.
ReplyDeleteanon 7:17 : No I did not receive the card and I am Canadian.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Alexis! I was just deciding whether or not to buy the Lille heavy wool pique coat and now with this extra discount, I did it. It came to $110.74 incl shipping and tax, which is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI used my card the day I got it and the associate had never seen it - she asked me how I got one! She kept it and I don't have my receipt but this makes up for it.
PS - does anyone have the Lille coat? Do you like it?
HELP!
ReplyDeleteHow do the Cafe Capri pants fit?
JCrew pants are one thing I do not own (with the exception of city fit luxe trouser cords).
The above mentioned cords are size 2, but tend to stretch out and be baggy. I wear a 4 in JCrew shorts and other stores (27/28 in 7forallmankind jeans if that helps).
What should I get? 2 or 4? Or size up to 6?! I'm so lost.
Anon @ 3:36 - I think it is state law on whether shipping is taxable or not. So it varies state by state (here in WA it is taxable).
ReplyDeleteI'm also Canadian and did not receive a discount card. We've been paying 25%+ in exchange plus shipping and taxes so it would be nice for JCrew to reward their loyal Canadian customers who spend so much extra because we love the store.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alexis! Just used the code and it worked.
ReplyDeleteI got a red card in the mail- it was forwarded from my old address so I didn't get it until this week. I plan on hitting the B&M this weekend, but online shopping is so much better than the crowds at the mall! And I can find more of a selection for short length pants.
LS-size 2 for sure!
ReplyDeleteI wear 28 in matchsticks and needed 2 Cafe Capris.
thanks so much bugpin. ordering now :)
ReplyDeleteLS - IMO, the Cafe Capri pants are TTS. I am a 4 or 6P and I own both 4 and 6P in various colors. Sounds like you should get a 2. You may experience a little stretching as the day goes, so don't size up. HTH
ReplyDeleteOT -- was the eggplant Madeline dress ever carried in stores? I was waiting to order one in a sz 6 and now it is of course sold out online.
ReplyDeletecasual-crew: THANKS for the info! I appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteToday I received a 25% off Coach coupon valid Dec. 5 - 14 at Coach stores. I'm not going to use it, so I'd be happy to send it to anyone who wants it.

ReplyDeletePrevious posts deleted because they were incoherent. Here is what I meant to say:
ReplyDeletekitchy7: my email is classicstyle1980 at gmail dot com. Please email me if you still have the Coach coupon. I'd love it if it's still available! Thanks :)
dream tie neck- TTS. Nice & thick, very warm, tie looks great. I have one in snow.
ReplyDeleteAnyone think they'll be reductions online tonite?
Also, they updated the stock in sale section
Some quick reviews:
ReplyDeleteDream Open Neck Crew: 3/4 sleeves, a bit on the longish side. Definetly 1 size too big-- not just the body, but the neckline, arms, etc. I am a 34C and the S was way too big. I got it in the honey glaze, which is a great color--at first I wasnt sure if Id like it. Its going back.
Cashmere eva- I wanted to love it. got it in the spearmint, S (my usu size)-- Super boxy as well (why?? its such a great sweater!! why make it 2x as wide than as big??!!) *sorry, vent!* Anyways, it just looked like a huge tunic. LOVE the neckline- crystals are very cute, neckline is gorgeous. So I ordered the XS- fit much better, but the foldover "collar" on the neckline was much smaller and less flattering..and the cashmere was see through- prob due to the light color- I put an ivory cami underneath and you could see it pretty clearly--Just didnt think it was worth the $ even with the discount--If the fit was better and the fabric was thicker, I would have kept.
Tartine, buttercup- love the color! A bit big in the body, TTS across bust (got the S). Sheer, but I expected that. size down if youre going to wear it unbuttoned.
hth someone! : )
PS- anyone think there'll be some deeper sales tonight or tomorrow?
I just got my 25% off in the mail today from a fellow aficionada (THANK YOU SO MUCH)!!!
ReplyDeleteWent to the store tonight and picked up the new v-neck short sleeve cardigan. I got it in putty. I love it with a white long sleeve tee underneath. I found it runs a little on the large size.
Boucle Astrid on Privileged tonight. They fixed the droopy flower and it looked fantastic!
ReplyDeleteKatieQuinn,
ReplyDeleteI have it and I love it. I am going to get it in a different color as well. What color did you get?
thanks gigi and bug for the help with the capri pants. i will let everyone know how they turn out.
ReplyDeletethanks alexis for the code! worked perfectly!
this site is wonderful :)
Thanks so much bixbygirl! I had a free shipping because of a messed up order and I was just waiting for a better deal from Jcrew. Your code sure helped. Got Christmas gifts for the BF and mom. (and myself....) Really appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteKatieQuinn, I have the Lille in black and I adore it! The fabric has such a great texture and weight. It's casual enough to throw on over jeans but cool and classic enough to wear with a skirt/ dress (once I get all the cat fur off it, that is!) There's plenty of room for multiple layers underneath, I almost sent it back to size down, but since winter is already horrid here in michigan, I've been enjoying the extra room to tuck extra long scarves, etc. I got it before the latest price reduction, but for once I'm not disappointed on the dollars I could have saved since my size isn't available in black and although I'd like another color in addition to, I wouldn't want another instead of. Happy wearing!!!
ReplyDeleteHere is Lisa G. from the Howard Stern show wearing a very familiar-looking tee!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteBlah, link doesn't work. If you go to Howard Stern's site and click on "Monday's Show", there are pics of Lisa G. wearing the sequin reindeer tee :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that code! I'll make use of it if things I want pop up on the website again.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone understand how they are restocking the sale section now? They usually did it in the morning. Now it's not happening regularly in the a.m. I just checked (9:00 p.m. MST) and the numbers are higher - 33 skirts as opposed to 26 earlier - but it looks like they just put up a bunch of skirts that are and have been sold out.
And add me to the list of J. Crew shipping mistakes. I received an order today of 12 items, but 2 were missing. The silvered tweed skirt and the golden roses skirt. Both are sold out in my size online (hence my attempts to catch the restock). Interestingly, my invoice had red marks next to those items, like the person packing it knew they were missing.
kendra - Great reviews. I am the same bust size. I generally don't like the tunic cut when J Crew does it. I ordered a vneck and it was that way. Eww. I know you really wanted to find out about the Eva. Sorry to hear it disappointed you. I have no clue about updates. I was on the sale section today and saw some random, random items. Not that you can trust they're actually in stock. *lol*
ReplyDeletedesert flower-what size do you need--I think there is a 2 Golden ROses skirt at Galleria St Louis extra 30% off.
ReplyDeleteKitchy... would love to have the coupon. Plz email met at dazzle2_in@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteCoach coupon is spoken for by classic_style.
ReplyDeleteAwesome new J. Crew promo:
* spend $100, save 20%
* spend $150, save 25%
* spend $200, save 30%
and FREE SHIPPING on orders over $100! yay!
code is HOHOHO
and funnily, my word verification is "worsts." here i was thinking this promo was the "bests" I'd seen in months!
Just think...we now get excited at % off with free shipping when we used to get this automatically last year! Yes, I am glad to see the free shipping with the promo but also remembering that deals were actually better in the past when JCrew wasn't so hard up for business!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I am willing to wait for a better sale b/c there is only one item I want...Also, too many messed up orders...
Bugpin,
ReplyDeleteDid you ever send an email to Mr. Drexler about all your shipping woes? If not, you should. I have decided to no longer order from JCrew b/c I live overseas and can't check my orders sitting at my parents house until maybe Aug. and I can't afford to find mistakes. I placed three HUGE Orders so that will be enough to deal with I am sure. Actually, almost, not looking forward to opening those boxes! Kinda sad really.
Julie
I can only imagine the messed up orders with this code and they are rushing to get the parcels out to meet the shipping deadlines.
ReplyDeleteI was told by a phone rep, after a second attempt to order an item from the web that went sold out while I received an item in it's place that I didn't order, that just because the item is on the website doesn't mean they have it in stock. So much for ordering from an online store.
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeletePlease help. Can this code that Alexis posted be used on a phone order. I want an item that is online only.
Someone on this blog had success I thinktwith this.
the code Alexis posted can be used online, and since it's an online only, you can use the code online.
ReplyDeleteWeb site is very very slow again, hope everyone gets their orders.
ReplyDeleteThis code CAN be used over the phone. Yesterday, calling from the store, I ordered the Tweed Fiona Jacket with 30% off sale items in store PLUS the 25% off coupon code. Got it for $36!!
ReplyDeleteI have an extra 25% off coupon I received in the mail. I am willing to send it someone in need :)
ReplyDeleteIf you are one of the unlucky few who have not received one, please email me at shin.jennifer at gmail dot com
Lets give credit where credit is due....With all of these horror stories, its nice to be able to post a surpisingly good one.
ReplyDeleteHad my eye on the men's cashmere cardigan ....marked down from $248 to $99. With my 25% off card from Mickey it would be just $75, but I couldn't find it in any local store.
So I called CS and explained the situation. They let me use the 25% over the phone. They were going to charge me shipping, but when I explained that I wasted so much gas going from store to store looking for this, the rep had some pity for me and comp'd the shipping!
That was Sunday night. The sweater arrived today (Wed) and I must say at first glance and try on, I love it! Hope it doesn't suffer the pilling fate others have complained about.
Anyway, take it for what its worth...sometimes JC is on their game.
best,
Joe
NJ
I am, like most everyone here, a JC fan freak! My husband rolls his eyes when he sees me online perusing the JC site. Anyway, I wish I had an experience such as Joe's with the 25% card. Let me first say that I LOVED this card! Despite the economic times, it has inspired me to shop. I mean, 30% of sale items PLUS 25% off on top of that?!?! I treated myself to a pair of boots for my birthday (originally $350, but after the discounts, only $129 and some change). But here's what bugs me: I live in a "ritzy" high-end idyllic town on the west coast, but the JC is TINY--women's only and when I drive down to other towns and notice that there are things on sale in those other stores that aren't on sale in my home store, it makes me scratch my head and wonder; do items not get marked down in my store because JC thinks they can pull the wool over customer's eyes in this small, idyllic, money-laden town by not marking things down? Or, do the SA's forget to mark them down? Or, what?!? A few times I've mentioned that certain items are on sale in other stores, and they are (or act) genuinely surprised. And the other thing that bugs me is how items online often cost more or sometimes less then they do in the store. What gives with the price differences?
ReplyDeleteIn the example of my birthday boots, I called the JC 800 number and explained my situation; that my tiny JC does not have the boots and the nearest JC with a shoe department is 90+ miles away--one way. The SA didn't care, and also said that she could not allow me to apply the 25% on top of the 30% off when ordering over the phone. So I called a store in LA and they had the boots (a half size too big, but I wanted them in a BAD way). Not only did they allow me to purchase them over the phone and get the 30% off, but they allowed me to apply the red card 25% off without proof I had the card (I did, of course, and showed it to the SA when I picked up the boots, just to be honest). And come to find out, the boots were cheaper in the store than they were online! I guess the money I spent in gas made up for it, but I would think that JC would have some sort of uniform policy when it comes to pricing, understanding customer's locals, etc. especially when they market themselves more toward the "luxury" end of the spectrum. I truly love JC, but you really got to shop and browse often (and in several stores) to get the best value---and hope you get wonderful SA's, like I did when I called a certain store in LA.
