J.Crew Final Sale {nice update}

J.Crew has a nice update to their Final Sale section online (click here) this morning. Lots of merchandise for everyone (1160+ for Women and 450+ for Men). Moreover, it looks like several new pieces made it to sale along with some new price reductions. Yey!

Guess what item is on uber-sale? It's the Signature Tee (Item 30459; $45.00), which is now on sale for $14.99 (before any discount)! You might remember this top from the "Questionable Item of the Week: Signature Tee" post. I am guessing it did not sell as well as they hoped...

Plus, the STYLEFIND promotion for an additional 30% off sale is available, both online and brick & mortar (B&M) stores. Yey for that too! :)

Incidentally, has anyone else notice that J.Crew's shipping department is awesome lately? They are fulfilling orders quickly. Love it! :)

Did you check out the Final Sale section today? Were you able to snag any amazing deals? If so, please share! :)

  2. So much for staying away from Final Sale. In a semi-concious state, I whirlwinded my way to a very large, half final sale order.
What my haul looked like this morning:

a couple mini-gingham perfect shirts (FinalSale), Saturday pant in hthr khaki (FS), a couple Tippis (I need to stop with those, FS), Sequin-trim tennis dress (FS), cashmere polka dot in Navy lilac (FS).
No.2 in geometric print, Cafe capri in jaquard dot (a huge love for me & a Purchase-Return-Repurchase), hacking jacket in sheer mint (FS & PRR), cotton-silk Lucille dress in festival green, toothpick cord in sea salt (I have been watching for this color to go on sale for forever) & Martina suede wedges in bluebird. Whew!

JC early morning sale updates wake me up way better than my daily cup of tea.

Alexis, I love that I get my orders in three days. It's almost instant gratification!

    2. D*ska, whew what a haul for you! Thanks for the headsup about the graphic #2 pencil not being fs. I have been wanting it forever and was hoping the price would come down more. I ordered it this morning so that way I'll have it. If it goes lower in price I'll reorder. Also bit on the pink neon gingham shirt after Whitney's review thinking it will be great for spring.

  3. Just got an email from Factory touting up to 60% off sweaters and knits, so I hoped on over. Not impressed. Prices are as marked and at those prices for cashmere and merino, I'll stick with retail, thanks. The sale is online only and ends tomorrow. Also GETMORE gets you 30% off Final Sale.

  4. Jruby18, I replied toward the end of the Reviews post about the denim shorts (couldn't reply to the post for some reason so my reply is at the bottom).

  5. Bit on the Minnie pants in petunia (so much for getting over my Minnie addiction...) and the Ramona dress in green--very pretty and looks like it could be worn year round.

  6. I did notice the update this morning, but haven't ordered yet since the coat I'm considering is on promo and has plenty of stock left.

Along with the update this morning, there are several new promo-priced items, as well as some that were marked down, and even several 2nd/3rd markdowns, too. I've noted them all here, and the list of additional promo items & markdowns is here, as well.

  7. I wish there were some additional slashes on coats! So many have been lingering around Final Sale without any traction; an additional cut on the Toggle Coat with Thinsulate would totally sway me. Not yet, though; even with the 30 percent, $180 still seems high for an online-only item I would be buying without never having tried on ...

  8. Has ANYONE done a review of the cashmere tee dress?? I can't find anything on here or with google! The price right now is awesome, and they have Heather Poppy in my size, but I'm hesitant to buy on FS without some reviews on sizing and color. Decisions, decisions.....

    1. I bought one last year and love it, I feel it runs true to size. Very comfortable too. It looks like its the identical style to the one this year. Mine is also the Heather Poppy color (red), its a true red to me (I wore it to Christmas and several University of Alabama game functions which I would not have done if it were not a true red in my opinion). Again my was purchased last year but they look identical to me.

    2. I love the cashmere tee dress too, but it is short. Midthigh on me at 5'10". I wear it more as tunic with pixie pants. I think that unless you want it to be tight, get the larger of your usual sizes if you are between sizes. I have multiples of this dress in size medium which is perfect, even though most of my cashmere sweaters from J.Crew are smalls.

  9. @Julie, I *think* ShopwithM did a review of the cashmere tee dress and liked it. Check out her fab blog!

Well, I was going to order the denim shorts b/c they were on promo, and thus returnable. As of this AM, they are no longer on promo, and back to FP of $79.50, a ridiculous price to pay for a pair of jean shorts! I am sure I can find them at a fraction of that cost and that they'll be just as good. Actually, I'm glad that happened b/c even at $59.50 minus 30%, I still thought that was a little high.

    1. I had been going back and forth for months on buying those denim shorts specifically because the price is so high! $80 is silly. I finally bought them with last week's promo because I wore out my last pair of home-made denim cutoffs last summer and all the cheapie ones I found in stores were too short. Or they had rhinestones on the pockets, and I don't wear rhinestones on my pockets.

  10. OT but just a quick comment to say ShopAtHome cash back is at 9.5% today.

Oh, and that I love the stadium cloth duffle coat. I have it in dark artichoke AND navy now, which is a little silly, but I couldn't resist at about $114 after promo and cash back.

    2. Heather - I think it does but I'm a bad judge because I'm pregnant so nothing fits like it normally does. I'm a size 2 in most J. Crew but ordered this coat in a 4 for layering over blazers and such. It still just barely zips over my 6 month pregnant belly.

      See shopwithm's detailed review here.

  12. FYI, the stores switched to 40% off as of this morning. I lost on the striped cash sweater that I bought with 30% off but won on the assorted flower Liberty shirt in blue/white that I had put on hold and got today (which is btw still fp but they honored the website price plus 40% off)

    ReplyDelete
  13. I was about to order the metro coat in retro jade because I really want a green coat. Does anyone know if that color really is more of a blue?
Also -- and I know this has been explained here quite a few times -- how do you check to see how many items have been added on any given day to the sale section?

    1. I don't have the coat, but I have the wool Jules dress in Retro Jade and its definitely more of a turquoise, its very pretty in my opinion but I don't think it would qualify as a green color.

    2. I think it's closer to the greens than to the blues. The website colour seems turquoise on my monitor, but IRL it has a bit more green in it.

  14. Got my lady day in antique white and it was totally worth waking up at 5am on Monday for! The coat is gorgeous and the color is so elegant. I'd been eying it all season, but when I saw it on Royal Pains, I knew I had to have it.
While on my winter white kick, I've also been thinking about the toothpick cords in sea salt that just got marked down today. Not sure the price is quite right yet. Although the mention of 40% in stores is appealing!

    1. I have the Metro coat in camel and love it! Probably the best coat I've ever owned. It has such a clean and refined silhouette. I don't have the Lady Day but it looks very similar to Metro.

    3. They are very similar. I've tried both and can't say the fit is really that different. I found the metro coat to flare out a tad bit from the hips and a tab bit longer than lady day. Also, metro has the flap pockets.

    4. Thanks....I'm leaning toward the Metro as it's more "down to earth" if that makes sense. I just got a 2nd Duffle coat, more casual I guess is my style.

  18. I bit on a very rare pop back of the calf hair MacAlistair wedges in my size! I was so excited to see these. Still pricey even with the promo but IMO worth it b/c they are hard to find and I love the wedges I have in the nut color. So comfy. I think there was only one other size available and they sold out in minutes.

  22. Thanks, I can't decide whether to wait and see if Heather Stone goes on sale or order the grey. I tend to look better in gold tones than silver...or I may wait to see if the Metro coat in Camel pops back.

  23. I stopped by my store today to make a return, and they are running the extra 40% off, as well. The sale section was not as full as I've seen it in the past, but there was still quite a bit of merchandise.

For those looking or interested: there were 4 pair of the Fair Isle leggings (navy) in sizes small, large, and Xlarge. I believe they were marked to $59.99 before the 40% off. They had the Lace-printed sweatshirt in small, medium, and large plus an xsmall on the mannequin across from the registers. They were marked $49.99 before the 40% off. There was one Fair Isle ski sweater in size xsmall for $99.99, and one Herringbone quilted vest size Xlarge for $79.99 before the discount. There was one size 2 Liberty perfect shirt in claire-aude priced at $49.99, and numerous Liberty perfect shirts in wiltshire in varying sizes for $49.99, as well. (All prices before 40% off.) They were all at the Orlando store in Mall at Millenia: phone 407-226-9732.

I didn't purchase anything in the store, but did have my PS place an order for a Lady Day coat in black for me. The last time I traveled up north in the winter I had to borrow a coat, so I decided that at this price I will get a coat in a classic silhouette and color to have for any future trips I need to take. Plus it isn't final sale.

    2. bella: There were a bunch of them at the Orlando store today. I didn't get the chance to look at them well, so I cannot offer an opinion on fit or quality, but wanted to let you know since they may be marked down further in store plus the additional 40% off. If you decide to get one, it may be worth a try calling the store first to find out the price, and then see if they have your size.

    3. Fabulous mommy, thanks! i will try calling them tomorrow.

LizT: what do you wear your gilded tweed with? the sales lady said i can even wear the jacket with a tee shirt. really? i am concerned about the practicality of the piece since i am a stay at home mom,,,, how often do you get to wear it?

    5. The Gilded Tweed is very gold so wearability is some what limited, but I view it as a special piece. I paired it with my Merino Turtleneck in Camel and skinny jeans and it looks great. IMO it looks best dressed down with jeans and a turtleneck or T Shirt. I also tried it with Minnie pant and it looked good. I was surprised just how many things it goes with in my closet. I am a SAHM too, so basically I see myself wearing it out to dinner, the theatre, etc.

  26. Why can't they do the 40% off online as well? I'm kind of new to J. Crew, but they don't usually have a very wide selection of cashmere in stores, correct? There's a sweater I've had my eye on for a while now and 40% off would really seal the deal for me.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Seth Christopher: J.Crew does offer 40% off online occasionally. Hopefully they will switch it online to 40% off before the promo ends this time, but you just never know with them. If they don't, you can try asking your local store to place an online order for you, and have the CS honor the in-store 40% off since the sweater is not available there for you to purchase at that discount.

  27. To keep or not to keep the Terrazzo Tweed jacket? It was a decent price with the sale and it fits great, but I'm hesitating about the odd chain that goes around all the edges. It is an actual metal chain. Do we like the chain or is it odd? I'm not sure where I would wear this jacket but I love it other than the chain. I need to return it, right? Does anyone have this and what do you think of it?

    1. cate, I bought the jacket in the summer (fp) but returned because the 0 was a tad small and I couldn't exchange it with a 2 (soldout everywhere). I just repurchased it in a 2, crazy!
Anyway, I really like the chain, personally, it is what makes this jacket special and modern.
I can't link but I had a post back in July with IRL pics (I am planning to style it like on the model, in my opinion it goes mostly with jeans, navy pants and not much else but I am in jeans all the time)

  30. Hi Ladies, Some advice needed... I am intrigued by the calfhair biennial after seeing FFM's review on it. Thanks FFM! The only thing holding me back is that it seems close in pattern to the summer leopard hobo (mini brompton) bag that I own. Of course, the biennial is more luxurious with the calf hair and leather. Any thoughts regarding whether you would own both? Trying to be practical(2013resolution) For this SAHM. FFM, do you own both? If so, any thoughts? Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi savvy shopper! I don't own both, but I do think they are different enough to get the biennial if you really like it. Then you would have a leopard bag for the cold weather months and one for the warm weather months, too. It isn't showing up as final sale right now , so perhaps you could order to see how you feel about it in person, and also decide if it will work with your current wardrobe?

      Delete
    2. I agree, I have the mini Brompton in safari cat and I retired it before the fall, it is a summer bag. Plus the colors are different as the safari cat is in the brown tones and the biennial is mainly black/white if I am not wrong.

      Delete
    3. I agree as well. I bought the biennnial when it went on sale this week, after reading FFM's review long ago, but have not rec'd it yet. But based on the website and FFM's photos, I would agree with Ema that the coloring is quite different even if they are both leopard print. I have the safari cat Brompton and it is a very casual warm weather bag.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I would go with what you ordered for the cafe trousers. I originall bought these a size up because I got measurements and they seemed to point me in that direction. However, once I tried them, I ended up taking my regular size in pants. I ended up returning because the wool seemed like they would pill, and also the colors are off to me-the navy is not a true navy but on the violet side which did not match well at all with greys.

      Delete
    2. I just got the stovepipe trousers! j crew is so great with shipping these days. took two days! i love these pants - perfect for the office. they're like the 120s in thickness and not lined, but i think that adds onto how streamlined the fit is. the cut isn't as straight as i had hoped but they're great with heels. i got them in black and green. sooo tempted to get them in the beige at 34.99. i'm thinking TTS so 6 would work very well if you do the cafe trousers in that size. i wear 00 in the minnies, pixie pants, cafe capris, and so 00 fit perfectly in these. i find with the cafe capris the sides of my upper thighs are slightly noticeable through the fabric (which I don't really like) but not in these :)
