  1. I wanted to place an order on Wednesday for the Felix boots, which are on final sale. Thanks to other JCAs who've posted about their success with online chats, I started a chat with an SA. After I told him that I was hesitant to purchase and was frustrated that I couldn't find more IRL/model images, he agreed to make a note on my order to let me return them if they don't work out. Fabulous!

  2. I love my new Stadium Cloth Duffle Coat that came in the mail today. It is warm and beautiful. A steal for $125. I have a Stadium Cloth coat from 2005 and it looks to be the same quality too.

  3. OT but Madewell has 40% off sale items and free shipping on everything with code LOVE40. I just ordered the Jean Jacket in storm wash!

  4. OT but can anyone comment on the fit of the Madewell sidewalk simmers? Do they fit like J Crew ballet flats? Are the skimmers cut narrow, espcially with the pointed toe?

    1. I love my Madewell skimmers. I have a size 7 foot, medium width, and I tried the black and white polka dot skimmers in that size but felt they pinched my toes so I went up a half size and am happy with them. I do the same thing with the Viv patent flats.

    2. Tweetle Beetle - I reviewed the sidewalk skimmers in glitter in this post. I wear 7.5 and took an 8 in the skimmers.

    3. continuing on the OT... does anyone know what time the Madewell site updates? Is it the same as JC? Stalking a jacket - thx ;)

    4. Yay! Glad to hear these comments re. sizing. Before I ordered this morning, I read Gigi's review on her awesome shoe blog and ordered a 1/2 size up, and it looks like it was the right decision. I ended up ordering 2 pairs.

  5. Tweetle Bettle, the pair I have is not cut narrow--in fact, they tend to flare on me a bit at the point where my foot starts to narrow (right beneath the widest part of my foot). I have the polka dot pair. They are pretty comfortable. If it helps, for reference, my foot is narrow but not narrow enought to wear AA (except in Talbots--I can do their narrow size). You might check in with Jcrewismyfavstore and ShopwithM on their blogs (see sidebar links)--they are the ladies whose reviews piqued my interest in the sidewalk skimmers. HTH!

  6. Hey everyone! My mom found the best gadget... the Remington Fuzz-Away pill remover.

I used it on my Stadium Cloth Elements Coat which was pilling like crazy, and it made it look new! I was really glad because I didn't even like the coat any more, it looked so old and used. TOTALLY WORTH IT. You can find it on ebay!

  7. I want to confess that I just ordered the beaded rose necklace, full price (although I did get free shipping). On the one hand, it probably will make it to sale, and I'll be thinking "I could have waited!", but on the other hand, it is EXACTLY what I love in a piece of jewelry (color, style, everything!) and I had such a horrible day yesterday, I decided I deserved a self-gift. I love the look of that necklace so much!

I will report when it shows up! (It is in stock now.)

  8. I just wanted to add a positive note about the many customer service reps I have spoken to on the phone. I know that there have been many JCAs that have not shared my experience, but without exception they have always given me great service. Whether it has been a mistake on their part, my request to match a store price, or even working with me on a final sale item that didn't work out, they have always stepped up and resolved the issue to my satisfaction. Also they have done this in a professional and courteous manner. From my perspective, Well done!

  9. I bought the Downtown Field Jacket during the 30 off the entire store promo before Xmas. I just got it in the mail. I have it in my car to return. It was about $100. Tell me, am I making a mistake returning it? I'm just on the fence, and if I'm on the fence, I feel like I should just take it back. I guess this is a "Tell Me I Should Love It" post, lol!! Thoughts?

    1. I tried it on at the way beginning of the season hoping to love it and I didn't. Then I kept staring at it and decided to try it again during the 30% off and I LOVE it. I've seen it everywhere since then. It's a really flattering light layer. Mine is navy and I can't wait til the temperatures allow me to sport it again. Since I'd been stalking it the entire season, I noticed that it NEVER went on sale. Not once. And it's back to being offered, same style for this spring. So the 30 off is a great deal if you're even considering keeping it!

    2. I LOVE mine; it's my go-to jacket on cool or rainy days. I get lots of compliments and it looks good with practically everything in my closet. I bought it during one of the 30% off promos to replace a similar jacket from H&M 10 years.

    3. OK, I'm going to hold on to it for a while and see how I feel. I have 60 days. It really is a good price for an item that rarely goes on sale. I keep thinking I'll regret it if I return it. Thanks for the feedback!!

  11. Scored the Slim Trench Topper in black watch plaid today for $150 at the Eaton Centre store! SO happy to get that coat for that price, now I just need it to warm up outside so I can wear it (it's a snowstorm here right now)!

  12. This is a love/hate. Love that they are apparently going to start posting actual measurements now. Hate how hideous and golden girls this blouse is! Enough with the 80's fashion!

  13. I recently tweeted about a J.Crew item from years past I'd love to see them re-release. I was pleasantly surprised when J.Crew's twitter person directly messaged to let me know they'd pass it on to the team. Even if nothing comes of it, that small touch of acknowledging me was classy and awesome. I'm smitten. :)

  14. This is a partial vent, a love/vent if you will.

I've been ordering a ton of stuff with this ongoing promotion and my inability to stay asleep past 5am. Out of the "hundreds" of orders that I have placed, I've had five gaffes happen.
I received the St. James Meridien II tee instead of the Minquiers III tee, twice. Got a polka dot cashmere sweater that smells of perspiration, despite having its tags on and two Saturday pants with major holes along the seams, one in heather flint and the other heather spruce:(. A third order of the Saturdays in heather spruce was cancelled.

But just when I was about to gather the disappointments and call CS, they ring me to tell me of the cancellation. A lovely CS rep lends me her ear as I relay my recent woes and does an immediate return of said items and sends me a $25 gift card for my inconvenience.

I've already re-ordered the polka dot cashmere sweater but I still wish I had those comfy Saturdays and cute Minquiers III tee. Think I'm going to use my "sorry we made you sad" gift card in-store.

  17. I recently ordered the Collection "Silk Georgette Blouse" with an additional 30% sale and about two weeks later they offered an additional 40% off. The blouse wasn't cheap and I called to inquire about a price adjustment. I figured the chance was small but worth asking and sure enough, they did it! They said their policy was usually just for full price merchandise purchased within 7 days but they gave no lecture and offered it immediately. How nice! <3
