  1. A surprising love for me is the Embellished Shell, #33511. I ordered it out of pure curiosity. I don't know why I never noticed it before it hit sale. I was expecting a mockable, outrageous item but what I got instead was a beautifully designed piece. For once I am in total agreement with CFS's description. I even think that the un-embellished back is a good idea (I have items that are embellished all-over and it usually doesn't work out to well in the back). The sequins are far more matte than they appear in the online photo and the foulard pattern perfect for someone like me who can't see herself wearing a foulard print, especially in a capri pant.

It fits TTS and the quality is there. I took an XS. I wear 2 in button up shirts and blouses and 0 in just about everything else. It's fitted but not curve-hugging. I think that I am actually going to end up keeping it because I can see myself wearing it. When I'll actually get to wear it? Who knows.

It shows up as sold out now but I've seen it pop-up over the past few days.

    1. I saw this as a pop back and wanted to order it, but I missed out on the xs. I haven't seen it popback in a few days. It looks beautiful and unique, and, like you, I never noticed it before it was in the sale section.

    2. I saw a popback this morning in Small but it was final sale. Mine wasn't final sale. I hope you get your size on regular sale. Happy to know that I'm not the only one who can't recall seeing it. Now I am thinking that maybe they are store send backs?

    3. I am absolutely in love with this shirt! I almost preordered it when it came out in the early winter catalog. But then never saw it again until it was on sale as well. I missed getting my size (s) and am hoping it will show up in sale soon. I have been checking rather compulsively but think its pretty much worth it.

Either of you happen to be interested in selling it!? ;-)

  2. OT: it looks as though there are a couple of new #2 pencil skirts in cotton online. The scroll skirt also appears to be entirely sold out.

    2. Miss JR - is it the green tweed one that's featured in the current Looks We Love? If so, I don't think it's been made available yet (I've been stalking, googling, etc. for a couple of weeks now). Love it and hope it's not too expensive.

    4. So weird! I wonder why they pulled everything?

    8. Was the blouse she is wearing with the skirt available? Thanks.

    9. I believe the blouse is actually the COLLECTION CASHMERE WAFFLE SWEATER http://www.jcrew.com/womens_feature/NewArrivals/sweaters/PRDOVR~37444/37444.jsp

It appears to still be available.

    10. Or do you mean in the item picture? I'm not sure what that is. But the skirt appears to have popped back in many sizes this morning.

    11. Thanks ladies. I see it is back online. Very odd.

  3. I love the Lexa dress that I got during the last promo. Bought it after seeing DaniBP's great reviews. I got it in fawn - a lovely pale, neutral color. It's a dressy dress, but the short sleeves and minimalist design make it feel modern and easy. The silk taffeta is a nice weight and feels divine. A dress to invent occasions for.

  4. I got my double-serge wool pencil skirt in mauve blush in the mail yesterday and I am wearing it today. It is lovely (I think a better color in real life than online) and a good final sale purchase. The wool pencil skirts are my favorite for work in the winter and I might go check one of my local stores to see if I can find any more on sale today.

  5. I am really loving how quickly I am receiving my packages.

Thanks for your J.Crew order: Monday, Jan 7 05:59 am
Your J. Crew order has shipped: Monday, Jan 7 09:16pm
Order Arrival: Wednesday, Jan 9th 05:15pm

Yes. It's down to two days now. Last week it was three days max. The order that I placed this morning has already been shipped. And yes, I am using the free standard shipping method. All I can say now is whoa! Is anyone else in the Northeast experiencing such rapid-fire order turnarounds?

    1. Yes! they have been super fast for me! They are shipping faster than I can return haha! I do return a lot, but I keep some too :-)

    2. I agree, very fast shipping and best of all, my orders have been accurate! I am using the free standard shipping as well that comes with orders over $175.

I know they expanded their Lynchburg warehouse a little while back, I wonder if this has helped with inventory control and shipping.

  6. Received the hacking jacket in mint yesterday (size 8 petite) and it fits perfectly. Wearing it right now. I have the tipped hacking from last year and it's not nearly as comfortable as this one -- last years is so itchy. The only quality issue is that the "hacking" label is sewn in upside down :) How did that happen??

I've also ordered quite a bit of crystal jewelry lately (flower lattice necklace, jeweled brooch, Lulu Frost deco cuff) and I'm very impressed by how clear/sparkly all of them are. The brooch is nice and light, so it won't drag a lapel down. The deco cuff and necklace both feel very substantial. I wear the bracelet to work quite a bit and always get compliments on the design. Great price for the amount of metal and stones!

  7. I placed an order for final sale with free shipping and accidentally had it shipped to my old address. I emailed J. Crew when I realized my mistake (a few days later) and they were very accomodating and re-routed the package to my new address at no extra charge. I was very happy with the service I received.

  8. J Crew had to cancel two items in two separate orders because they sold-out. I was so excited to see that they sent the remaining items from both orders via 2 day air since there was a 3 and 4 day delay between the date of my order and them realizing the items were no longer available. Excellent service.

  9. My kids were loving my luxe silk blouse at mass today. It was hilarious. I had one on each side of me and they wouldn't stop rubbing their faces on my sleeves like cats! I felt pretty stylish, too. I hope they make more blouses in that fabric!
