J.Crew is still offering an additional 40% off Final Sale with promo code GET40. This offer expires Tuesday, January 29, 2013. The fine print includes:
*Offer valid on the purchase of final sale items in J.Crew stores or at jcrew.com from January 21, 2013, 12:01am ET through January 29, 2013, 11:59pm ET. Offer not valid in J.Crew Factory stores, at jcrewfactory.com or on phone orders. Offer does not apply to previous purchases or to the purchase of gift cards and cannot be redeemed for cash or combined with any other promotion. Discount on retail purchases applied at register. To redeem online, enter code GET40 in the promo code box at checkout. Limit one promo code per order. Terms of offer are subject to change. As many of you already have mentioned, J.Crew is offering an additional 50% off Final Sale items in most brick and mortar (B&M) stores. Wahoo!!! However, the selection is pretty limited at this point. So it is nice to see an increase to the percent off online.
Plus, J.Crew has a nice update to their Final Sale section online (click here) earlier this morning. Lots of merchandise for everyone (1100+ for Women and 560+ for Men).
Did you check out the Final Sale section today? Were you able to snag any amazing deals? If so, please share! :)
It was nice to see the 40% discount AND restock this morning. I did get the white wool cafe capri and Collection skirt in abstract floral. Yay! Hope they ship.
ReplyDeleteI got this skirt. Definitely needed to size up though b/c waist is so high. Glad I did!
DeleteI agree Genny. I did too when I saw the measurements for it from CS. Quite a few of the Collection skirts seem to run small.
DeleteRunning to that sale! running to that sale!!
ReplyDeletegot the sterling skirt in crimson maple on popback, ordered a few non final sale items to go along for try-ons
ReplyDeleteOh dear. This must stop soon!! I picked up the everly cap toe t-strap in ivory and the everly (also cap toe but not called that) t-strap in vintage grey (and black). I am a new convert to the everly, having tried it for the first time in my B&M a couple weeks ago. (Much more comfortable than the Mona, but like the Mona, size up by 1/2.) Also got the collection photo floral cafe capri, which I have tried on in store but waffled just b/c I am afraid of whites. Decided that I need to get over that.
ReplyDeleteI love the everlys too! Much more than the Mona's!
DeleteDoes anyone have Micky's email? I had the most frustrating experience this morning!!!
ReplyDeleteHere ya go:
Deletehttp://consumerist.com/2010/03/17/eecb-j-crew/
I keep checking back and seeing the herringbone vest "available" but then when I click it, it's sold out. So frustrating. I may have to go to Ebay for that particular piece.
ReplyDeleteI keep trying to apply the code at checkout and it's not working. Hopefully that will be fixed soon.
ReplyDeleteI had issues with checking out in Safari; the code wasn't applying. However, I used a different browser (Chrome) and it works fine.
DeleteGot another pair of tall stretch twill Minnies in the khaki color. Love that they're doing 40% off online.
ReplyDeleteI was able to have the 40 off applied to the promo priced Nolita jean jacket, so I'm getting it for $66! That's half off! I rarely see these go to sale in a wide range of sizes/colors. I also got a top for my daughter for a fab price. Just missed out on an adorable sequined sweatshirt for her unfortunately. Got snatched out of my cart. :( Also added in the lightweight beige snood as a ride-along. Can return it if I want, but that could be a great item worth keeping even at FP.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info about the jean jacket! Promo price, not final sale, so was able to order two sizes to try out. Fab!
DeleteCongratulations to you both on getting the Nolita at such a great price! I've been contemplating it ever since it went to promo-price last week, and it's an even better deal now with the 40% off.
DeleteBtw, more promo-priced items listed here.
DeleteHope it works out for us!
Delete@FFM, I was considering trying it out last week too! Glad I waited.
Has anyone noticed that many of the clothes online are altered or tacked to fit the model better? I normally go crazy during these sales, but J. Crew isn't even a guaranteed fit anymore. After I got stuck with a lousy fitting dress last year, I almost have an aversion to final sale clothes now. Sad.
ReplyDeleteThe sad thing about them tacking the clothing is that it sometimes leaves small holes in the item. Last year I purchased a blouse and school boy blazer. I got home and noticed multiple holes in both that most definitely wouldn't close up with washing! For the price I paid for the schoolboy blazer I wasn't going to keep it with any imperfections.
DeleteYes, tacking the clothes often leaves small holes. I tried to buy something off a model at BR recently and was told no because they knew it was damaged from being on the model.
DeleteOT: Reportedly, Michelle Obama wearing J. Crew shoes, Malia Obama in a J. Crew coat for the Inauguration today.
ReplyDeleteOT but JCrew is back in the Times http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/20/fashion/jenna-lyons-the-woman-who-dresses-america.html?pagewanted=all
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see 40% off online again, and hopefully they'll end up lowering the shipping minimum, too. My store is still running the 50% off, so I plan on checking out the sale section when I go in to make a return later this week.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteOT: First daughter Malea is wearing a J. Crew double cloth lady coat for the inauguration today! Not sure of the color - looks like a purple but I don't think J. Crew did that color this year. Maybe it was made special - also looks like the buttons were changed.
ReplyDeleteLuxette, it looks like the Fresh Plum color. Now watch it sell out after people see the pictures!
DeleteDefinitely the fresh plum! I was wondering why all the lady das went back to full price!
DeleteOh, yes - thanks ladies. I bet didn't see it since it went back to full price. Really glad I snagged the golden sun on promo a couple weeks ago. The Fresh Plum color is not for me but I do really love this coat!
DeleteHad been in search of the lady day in golden sun in my size 2, but now I think that I'll just give up.
DeleteThe Copley store in boston has a robustly stocked sale section. Saw four hothouse flower skirts....sz 2 , 4, and 10. Lots of shoes but mostly bigger sizes.
ReplyDeleteFresh plum leather gloves have also sold out....was just about to hit the button!
ReplyDeleteWow-stock depleted so fast today....
ReplyDeleteI finally scored the collection cashmere polka dot sweater in the fuchsia/navy color way for all of $89. On top of that, the cocoon coat in smoky coral (which I have yet to see in real life, but for $139 after discount, I couldn't pass up), as well as the Aggie boots in suede (another blind buy at $77). Hoping for the best here, but I couldn't pass up these prices. Super excited.
ReplyDeleteNBC said Michele Obama's belt is Jcrew. Don't see anything like it online. Wonder if it is an item yet to come or custom made for her?
ReplyDeleteWhat's up with her hair? Wig?
DeleteShe got a new new haircut. I had my moment with the fringe last year. Fringes or bangs never, ever work out but it looked better swept to side as she had it recently.
DeleteThat belt is probably collection from the collection B&M store or like you said, made specifically for her.
DeleteAs for the hair I think she got a weave. It looks way thicker than before!
DeleteHer hair definitely was not flattering. Her make up and dark navy coat she wore , however, were gorgeous!
DeleteToo bad the pieces I want aren't final sale!
ReplyDeleteMy purchase plans were unfortunately foiled this morning when the shopping bag and checkout weren't working.. by the time they worked everything in my cart had sold out. Come on JC.
ReplyDeleteI almost had the same problem, but switched over to pay pal at the last minute and lucked out. Sorry you got such a bad deal!
DeleteThanks, I'm glad you worked something out! When I was ready to checkout I couldn't even access my shopping bag anymore :(
DeleteI need to stop. No really this time!
ReplyDeleteMy morning haul:
Perfect shirt in chambray polka dot,
Perfect shirt in medium gingham in timeless turquoise,
Collection cashmere tee in heather dusk, Indian voile popover in vibrant fuchsia (for price adjust),
Deck-stripe board short (wrong description so fingers crossed that it ships),
Refined crystal-bow buckle belt,
Refined silk-cashmere wrap in neon azalea and fresh turquoise,
Cabochon and crystal bracelet in frosted holly,
Shawl-collar stripe sweatshirt in ivory,
Collection cashmere Tippi sweater in heather dusk,
Tall café capri in dazzling sun,
Even though I know the deals are better in store, I am still satisfied with the prices that I paid because chances are my size wouldn't be available in store anyway.
That's going to be a fun box to open! I'm sure none of that could be found at the stores near me.
Deletecate: My little store that couldn't, never even had half these things. And right now, the sale section there is bone dry too. I was going to drop by anyway since it's literally 9 minutes from my home but we're in the middle of a freezing cold snap in the northeast. BRRRHH! Bring on spring, I'm ready!
DeleteI'm ready for summer, I've bought sale bathing suits haha! Their printed one-piece suits are awesome, how did I not know that until now? And for $27 they are extra awesome. Meanwhile, it's single digits here, brrr...
DeleteHas anyone seen the matchstick cords in neon fuchsia in a size 30 or preferably a 30T during their travels? They sold out online today before I could purchase them! My email is sallen07@gmail.com. Thanks in advance!!!
ReplyDeleteStacy - the Walden Galleria store in Buffalo had a stack of them yesterday, just not sure what sizes...might be worth a call (716) 684-8189
DeleteI'm not sure if I can afford to keep savings money. These promos keep wearing away my willpower (who am I kidding like I had willpower).
ReplyDeleteOrdered Ludlow wool pants, broken-in shorts and even socks today. Rarely find Ludlows on sale in my size; what a score!
The UPS guy will be visiting me even more now and the denim I ordered from the last promo is wait-listed. Oh boy I need to simmer down or get a part-time job to support my on-line addition to J.Crew.
jcrew guy, I was thinking the same thing. Maybe what I need to do is work for J. Crew on the weekends. I think that I'd make a great SA. lol.
DeleteJcrew guy & d*ska,
DeleteSame "problem" here,! My husband asked "didn't you just buy two coats from J Crew last week?" Boy, he doesn't know the half of it..... I have two more large orders coming! Lets all work for JCrew and console each other.
Hey D*ska; we could split shifts and cover each other when the other is trying on new clothes. Sadly if we worked in the store we'd even spend more.
ReplyDeleteI'd be paying J.Crew to work there. Sigh. Anyone wants to start a J.Crewaholics Anonymous with me?
DeleteReview of the Nolita jacket in indigo wash in this post. It's a net $66 with GET40.
ReplyDeleteOh man wasn't supposed to buy anything anymore and my condo concierge knows me from picking up so many Jcrew packages....
ReplyDeleteI managed to order a neon kiwi blythe this morning in 0 that i saw at the Fairview mall location the other day. At the mall it was full priced for $128 and I got it today for $40-something and I got my husband a Dodo case for Valentine's Day he's been eyeing.
I picked up the Collection "Silk Georgette Blouse" in "antique ivory" online and it finally arrived! Check out my full review here: http://www.harpersshadow.com/2013/01/jcrew-collection-silk-georgette-blouse.html
ReplyDeleteJust ordered this top in the smaller of my sizes, 0, this morning based on your review. Thanks!
DeleteI picked up a Copley Saddle bag in neon persimmon for $50, and a Classic Merino cardigan in mint green for $20.
ReplyDeleteVery early update this morning--5:45. It was tough! But I got the one thing I really wanted, the Heartbreaker sweater in navy, though everything else disappeared.
ReplyDeleteItem pictures and descriptions were still messed up this morning on the web site in the sale section. How is anyone supposed to know what they are buying? Are they even trying to fix this?
ReplyDeleteI know Cate, I looked last night and they were describing rain boots and it was a picture of a ballet flat :) Very annoying.
DeleteThis was a good one. I did a search on vibrant flame and up pops an iphone case image with the description. POPPY KING FOR J.CREW LIPSTICK. for $19.99. :)
DeleteIt's happening on older items, too. My search for an image of the Drea pump to use in my post today, produced a link to the J.Crew product page with the correct image, but the name and description for the Mona printed pumps.
DeleteI received two of my crazy messed up items today and I got the item pictured not the item from the description. Which was excellent news for me.
DeleteD*ska that's great!
Deleteat least the checkout was working properly for me this morning.. managed to stock up on a few basic tees and a cashmere hat that i lost over the holidays. almost didn't go through with it once the taxes and shipping were added on, but after the 40% off plus an extra 6% from ebates it was still worth it.
ReplyDeleteVisited my B&M (Park Meadows, CO) yesterday and got a long merino cardigan $14.99 and Jackie Cardigan - Mustard Yellow (GSU) - $25.00. The sale section was huge, even the SAs said they can't wait for it all to be gone. if anyone is looking for the Liberty Shirt - Wiltshire print they had about 5 for $49.99 BEFORE 50% off. I know they get stock from Aspen store and seemed like there were new items. They had the zigzag and polka dot sequin tees, lots of the felted wool minis in navy. Worth a call if you are looking for something specific (303-649-9620). I did try on the Boy Shirt in Colorblock which is cheaper online but did not like where the color changed made it boxy and stick out.
ReplyDeleteJRSConifer - Last in-store price for the boy shirt in color block was $24.99 and cheaper than last online price of $29.99. ITA agree about the color change & visual boxiness. However, I was forced to order something as a ridealong for fs. I'm happy w/the way I styled it in this post.
DeleteGigiofca, I must admit I was on the fence about it but it was marked $39.99 and I was short on time. I may stop in tomorrow since they had a bunch of them and try it on again if it is still there. Thanks for the price update and the styling ideas.
DeleteI picked up a cashmere tippi in bright pink and tall minnies this morning. awesome prices on both
ReplyDeleteI stopped at the mall yesterday...sale section at my store was slim but I did get the Teddie dress in byzantine blue for $40 and the long sleeve tweed dress (a surprise win for me) for $65. I was pretty happy with my success :)
ReplyDeleteWow, excellent deals! Those are two of my favorite dresses to wear to work.
DeleteDoes anyone know when the new arrivals will be - er - arriving? I figured it would be yesterday when the sale ended, but then they announced the new sale. I can't wait to see what they have for spring!
ReplyDeleteSounds like it is Jan. 30th online, Jan 31st in stores? The get40 sale ensd Jan. 29th, so that seems right.
DeleteCatherine - New arrivals in-store and online around 1/30, 1/31.
DeleteThank you! Can't wait to see them.
DeleteI have a question. How can inventory update when this is final sale and has been for a long time? Why was I able to find a sweater I wanted this morning, when it had been on final sale?
ReplyDeleteAre the stores slowly sending in their inventory? Or do we think that the listed inventory isn't comprehensive.
Sorry--geek question. But I'm really curious!
I am curious too. I imagine they must process returns and inventory transfers from stores daily and maybe they do an inventory refresh every morning based on what's back? It's probably more involved than that.
DeleteI am glad I am not the only one who is curious! I woke up really early this morning--just after 4AM and couldn't get back to sleep. Around 5AM I realized that my body was just waiting to check JCrew, which I have been doing since December and which is just pathetic!
DeleteI have one more thing I want--we'll see if I can manage. I was in such a panic to get the Heartbreaker sweater (having missed it twice before) that I didn't even bother trying to get free shipping.
Then, later, I didn't manage to get a pair of sunglasses. Which is probably just as well......
It also updates because people return FS merch for defects, or gets CS to mark their accounts to return and JC puts the merch right back out there for sale. Watch out for used Kleenex in pockets!
DeleteYes, watch our for used Kleenex and sometimes ca$h!
DeleteAnd rancid perspiration smells!
DeleteI responded to Bizrate's request for clarification of my comments about inconsistent prices, incorrect product descriptions and update issues (specifically sold out items shown immediately after the morning update). They responded that my concerns would be forwarded to JCrew...guess we will see but I know that I am not the only customer who has complained lately.
ReplyDeleteI told myself I wasn't going to place an order with this sale but then I saw that the code worked for the Wool Cafe Capri's in heather grey and decided to give the tall length a try. I have found that the regular length just look silly on me even though I am only 5'6". I also ordered the Tippi in neon azalea and the peter pan merino sweater in silver stripe at full price. Unfortunately both are on backorder til Feb 12.
ReplyDeleteNicole, you probably have a longer than average inseam. Good luck w/the talls :)
DeleteI picked up the Wool Cafe Capri's as well in the regular length and I am 5'7". Where should these fall on my leg? Maybe I should have ordered the talls. TIA!
DeleteI'm 5'7", and I prefer the talls. The regulars look too short on me and give me that cankle look.
DeleteThe regular cotton Cafe Capris are quite short on me. I have a short torso and long legs. When I sit, they are in the middle of my calf. I have the Cafe Capri in wool Herringbone in a regular length and even though they are listed on the JC site as having the same inseam as the cotton Cafe Capris, oddly the herringbone are longer on me. You never know if it's gonna be hit or miss with their clothes sometimes.
DeleteI am 5'4" but I cannot wear petite sizes (longer arms and legs, shorter torso). I have both the regular and tall length versions of the Cafe Capri. The regular hits me at the same spot it does on the model while the tall fit like regular slim leg pants; they hit at the ankle. I feel like the two different lengths offer completely different looks. The taller, more refined and sophisticated, the regular length, more modern and fun.
DeleteI am not sure which would be best.... I guess it's best just to keep the regular length. Thank you for your input!
DeleteCan anyone comment on how this year's crop of wool Schoolboy jackets fit? Go with perfect shirt size, boy shirt size, etc? Think I might snag one next time they do an update if they're still around. TIA!
ReplyDeleteI got the navy last year and found it fit TTS. This year I ordered the wool flannel in heather caramel and found it was WAY too small. I ordered a size up but have yet to try it on. Very weird that the sizing would change like that based on wool vs. wool flannel. Hope that helps!
DeleteI bought the 2012 Schoolboy blazer in Modern Red, Festival Blue, and Purple, all in Size 0. My measurements are 33-27-36 and these fit well as long as you were wearing a thin shirt or shell underneath. If you were looking to layer a sweater, I would size up to a 2. HTH!
DeleteI don't know how they fit compared to last year's version but I took my usual size 0 in them and they were too small. I went with a size 2. I went with a size 0 in the Fall 2011 Hacking jacket and had to size up to a size 2 in the Fall 2012 version. It may just be that JC is leaning away from vanity sizing and more toward designer sizing.
DeleteHas anyone seen the Blythe Blouse in Brilliant Flame (red) in Size 2 in stores? Any tips are greatly appreciated!
ReplyDeleteAlso, do any JCAs have any knowledge on when J.Crew typically does suiting promotions? I'm hoping to get the 1035 jacket in super 120s in black.
Thanks! :)
Shopaholic, it's been a week or so but I did see that blouse in that color at the Cherry Creek, CO store. 303 322 7020
DeleteI definitely saw it on Saturday at the Michigan Ave store in Chicago.
DeleteI honestly can't recall the last time J.Crew did a suiting specific promotion. They do mark down suit separates, though, without warning. And if they do a universal discount, it's a good time to get one. That's how I got my suit jacket about six months ago.
I only remember seeing suiting promotions in the summer... I believe it was 30 percent.
DeleteShopaholic - The last suiting promo I recall was in-store only and -- in typical J Crew fashion -- not advertised with signage. The SAs were willing to call in if different sizes were needed & request the promo be applied. I think PerfectFit is correct w/the time period & % off.
DeleteAnyone seen the purl-stitch cashmere snood in store today? I'm looking for the camel color and gray (did it come in gray?)
ReplyDeleteDarn it! Missed the pop-back again! Who are these people with this lightening quick reflexes?!
DeleteDid anyone see an excursion vest in the navy in size small in their store? I would be soooo happy if I found one! TIA!
ReplyDeleteNo sale update today (as of yet, I don't expect one at this point 8:10am ET), boo! 520+ items in sale.
ReplyDeleteThere was an update this morning. Very small. I can't remember the count. I do recall seeing one size 6 dotted silk shell in ivory pop back. And a couple other things. No new markdowns.
DeleteYes, there was a small update with the number a little over 600. The Cocoon coat is now on promo in additional colors, and the Majesty peacoat is on final sale in all colors (instead of some colors being on promo).
DeleteNo wonder I didn't notice it, that is very small!
DeleteBeen stalking the cocoon coat in green and it FINALLY got marked down this morning. Ran out of bed and snagged it! At 40% off, worth it and not final sale.
ReplyDeleteI popped into the Prince Street store in NYC, they have several of the following that I thought noteworthy, and picked up myself!
ReplyDeleteWool Plaid scarf in green/fuschia $34.99 less 50% off = $17.49
Cashmere wrap in kelly green $79.99 less 50% = $39.99
Bubble necklace in green $99.99 less 50% = $49.99
I also saw a stack of the toothpick cord in ribbon bow print.
HTH!
Santa Barbara, CA store still had 50% off final sale today (prices below b4 discount). Saw black sequin polka dots tops ($89), fair isle leggings ($59), peacock necklace ($79), mint bubble necklace ($79), size 9 beige mcalister wedges w/ fur, long sleeve tweed dress sz 12 (i think it was $129), no2 circle eyelet skirts in yellow ($20), two small sizes navy mint diamond sweaters (don't remember price maybe $39?) , wool cafe capris in green, guava, jade ($29), jade & red jules dresses, sz 12 chiffon top in darker pink, pear sweaters, one sweater with the cat, dublin plaid skirt (one left on the mannequin). It's a small store but they had a decent selection considering. They had the scroll print dresses in sizes 0-8. Also a few pink & red excursion vests. Fair isle ski sweaters in xs and s I think. HTH!
ReplyDeleteKudos to the person (maybe a JCA) who scored the crystal encrusted earrings on Tues AM. I never stalk popbacks but that morning I did and was so bummed I missed those...been stalking FOREVER! I don't know what the color is called but I know it's not the green (as seen on Pink Peonies & Cupcakes & Cashmere). This pair has the opaque jade with turquoise & coral. If anyone has any leads on these in-store I will be so grateful.
There are still good scores to find! I got the Circle Lace Top in Black, the Nightshirt in End-on-end Cotton, and the Bow Toothpick Cord for $54 today with the teacher discount. I love the nightshirt. The cut is slim and just right. Its too cold to wear alone right now but it will get a lot of wear in the spring and fall.
ReplyDeleteHow much are the chiffon tops in store?
ReplyDelete
