Weekly Share: Other JCrew-like Retailers

This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent" posts), where we can share our finds from other retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew (like Anthropologie, LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann Taylor, and the like.)

If you have recently encountered items that are similar to J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including experiences with certain merchandise pieces, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

    Hey, all.

    Summer 2013 Boden debuted on their preview site two weeks ago, which again seems really early compared to prior years, but if it is like the Spring preview, they are just giving us extra time to enjoy the preordering. (They debuted womenswear first last time, and then added the kids and mens later. This time womens and menswear is debuting first, with kids debuting later.)

    I do know that the preview 20% off code is PRV3 and will last until early February.

    I wrote more on its debut here at this blog post.

    Okay, in other Boden news...this week they are featuring "Catch of the Day" items in all clothing categories, including for men and babies.

    This is the schedule here:

    Mon - Dresses, Shorts
    Tues - Knitwear
    Weds - Skirts/Trousers/Jeans
    Thurs - Tops
    Friday - Lucky Dip

    That said, today actually has additional items for women including a selection of bags, accessories, and shoes for sale, including the darling suede brogues that I know a lot of my readers love.

    I haven't written today's picks post, but you can look at Monday's for more information on how the "catch" works.

    Also, thanks to FFM for announcing the catch of the day in last week's "Other J. Crew-like retailers" post. :) I always think I have to wait until Wednesday to post the new information. Of course I could go to the prior week's, but it never occurs to me. LOL.

    Mesilla Peasant Blouse and Stacked Spots Sweater. A bit farther down you'll find Embroidered Tulip Dress and Blomma Cross-stitch skirt

    Random question: I am looking to purchase a pair of Madewell shoes as they are having a 40% off sale promo. If the shoes don't say "Final Sale" at checkout, could I return them if they didn't fit? Any help is appreciated. Thanks so much!!!

      Pauline: You should be able to return them if they don't fit. I would save a screenshot of the checkout page that shows they are not final sale, just in case they were to question the return, though I doubt you would have an issue.

      Hate to be a downer but the sale is really clearly marked as final sale in the fine print in the header. I was wondering the same thing (but hadn't see this post) and chatted with CS. She said there is (very) fine print that ALL sale is final sale right now. Good luck!

      Thanks for the information you received from CS shannon, although I'm pretty sure that if the invoice is not marked final sale, then they have to accept the return. I think that Pauline will still be able to return the shoes if they do not fit.

    Was on the ON Canadian site and noticed that the short sleeve chambray top is only 2.99 (+15% off). Gigi reviewed the top previously. Item number 333123. Sizes xs and s are left.

    If anyone shops Calypso St. Barth, there are some pretty neutral basics in the sale section, and they are offering an etra 50% off and free ship on $150+. Some pretty cashmere sweaters, linen tees, etc.
