Take 30% off Final Sale with STYLEFIND

"Thanks!" to many of you, including ObsessedwShopping (in this post), who let us know about the following promotion.

J.Crew is offering an additional 30% off Final Sale with promo code STYLEFIND. This offer expires Sunday, January 20, 2013. The fine print includes:
*Offer valid on the purchase of sale items in J.Crew retail stores or at jcrew.com from January 7, 2013, 12:01am ET through January 20, 2013, 11:59pm ET. Offer not valid in J.Crew Factory stores, at jcrewfactory.com or on phone orders. Offer does not apply to previous purchases or to the purchase of gift cards and cannot be redeemed for cash or combined with any other promotion. To redeem, enter code STYLEFIND in the promo code box at checkout. Limit one promo code per order. Terms of offer are subject to change.
It is nice to see another additional percent off available online, as well as an extension for B&M stores. Especially one for this long (this promotion is running for almost two weeks!) Plus, there was a nice update to the Sale section this morning with 1100+ for Women and 430+ for Men.

It sounds like the sale sections in the B&M stores are still pretty decent with lots of goodies to find. Also, many items are priced lower in stores than online. For example, the Janey Glitter Flats (item 24690, $228.00) are on sale for $149.99 online, while in stores I saw them for $99.99. Another example is the Copley Saddlebag (item 93192; $258.00). I believe I saw it online for $129.99 (or about there), and it is just $99.99 in stores (before any promotion). Lastly, the Toothpick Cord in Ribbon Bow Print (item 22219; $110.00) is on sale for $89.99 online, and available for $39.99 in stores. (By the way, I was initially not impressed with this item as I thought the print was too much. However, I purchased a pair for myself after seeing some fellow JCAs style this piece. I love it!)

I also have a feeling that after this promotion ends, B&M stores are going to ship back their sale merchandise to the warehouse.

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Any items you are interested in? If so, please share!

  1. Thanks for the information about the in-store price differences, Alexis. I agree that it's nice to see another % off promo online and in-store, especially one that lasts this long.

I'm going to stop by my local J.Crew this week to make a return and check out the new arrivals & sale section. I'll be sure to report my finds. :)

I did notice a few new promo-priced items this morning, as well as a couple of markdowns on previous promo items and noted them here.

    1. FFM, since your review of the gorgeous biennial calf hair satchel a few months back, I have been hoping it would go on sale and finally, today, it did! I just could not get myself to pay $595 for a jc bag, even with a percentage off, especially because it is calf hair -- is it very fragile? I worry about the hair coming off and looking bad...

But, in any case, $280 after discounts, and NOT final sale, so I'm figuring I can't go wrong.

Thank you for your very helpful, detailed review!!

    3. You're welcome audreys, and congrats on getting the bag! I don't think the calf hair is overly fragile. It is similar to two other calf hair bags that I own, one of which I have been carrying for over 2 years that still looks pristine. Unless you are really hard on the bag, it should hold up well.

  2. Woke up at 5am to snag the Lady Day in Antique White because it slipped through my fingers during last week's sale. I have definitely crossed over to the dark side, as that is the craziest J crew related thing I've done. My boyfriend looked at me like I had 5 heads when I gleefully announced my triumph. Now let's hope it fits!

I wear a 6 in blazers, and have a stadium cloth pea coat in a 4 that's a bit snug, so I ordered the 6 in the lady day. Fingers crossed.

    1. Congratulations! Stalking that one too but I was up too early (3 am) and then of course I was sleeping when the update took place. Was it still $149 in the pewter?

    2. Thank you! I feel your pain. I missed it on pop back a few times. It was still $149 so you didn't miss a crazy deal. Also there were very few sizes. Keep watching- good luck!

  5. Still wondering if I should go for the hacking blazer in herringbone. I LOVE the cream black and wish they had dropped the price more ($160 before discount). I did notice they got more sizes in stock.

  6. I have not been shopping JCrew b/c of final sale or promo prices even b/c I am just refusing to pay more online when in store is cheaper and I do not have a store nearby. I have been shopping Talbots great after Christmas sales. Talbots online prices match the store prices exactly. Also, with my credit card I ALWAYS get free shipping and there is no final sale currently and get extra 5% off additional 40% off sale prices in store. Also, store will hold an item for up to a week so if prices go lower during that time....your wait was worth it! So, glad I shopped at JCrew online before Christmas!

  7. I love these end of season sales, I agree a lot of store merchandise will be going back to the warehouse to make room for Spring season merchandise. I got two cashmere sweaters, the striped Tippi and Colorblock Stripe $69.99 after discount. Also grabbed a pair of Dreamy Cotton Pants for $25 after discount and a pair of Bermudas for $13.99.

    1. Laura - I haven't seen the bow collar necklace, but wanted to respond since I saw your post in another thread or two. There were some lingering before Christmas, but I think w/the continued 30% off they ended up selling. On the upside, items purchased by 12/24 should not have been final sale. Hope one is returned & you catch it :)

    6. There are many in the Park Meadows Store (Store 533), if you call catalog and asked to be connected to the WIFiFY team, they will call the store for you to order it.

  9. I've been dreaming about the cashmere polka dot sweater for some time, but now that I finally have some Christmas gift cards to use, the only colorway available is the fuschia/navy. I actually love the pink, but the dots look black to me, and that combo is triggering some 80's flashbacks! Has anyone seen this colorway in person?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I have seen it, it is pretty bright but cute. Also, if you call the WWFIFY team, they will probably be able to locate it for you in additional colors. Again, I know Park Meadows had a green and navy, and one of the other colors that they got back as returns. There are always so many floating around in stores. And since inventory took place almost nation-wide for Jcrews, I would imagine their inventories would be fairly correct.

  10. Review of the cafe capris in green tie silk in this post.

Alexis, good point about the prices. I added some mens items to the In-Store Price Guide. Most recent updates have the date in red. Their bargains are amazing w/some of the plaid buttondowns ringing up for $19.99 + 30% off. Lots of them still on the rack at Westfield. Worth a look in-person if there are mens items in your store.

  11. I did bite on this one. Could not resist the PETITE DOUBLE-CLOTH SLIM TRENCH (11138) for $118.99. I bought this earlier in the season in Camel and love/love it. I got the Brilliant Cobalt in 6P, hoping it is not too bright. Did get a PETITE KEEPER CHAMBRAY SHIRT as a tag along for the free shipping. I noticed also that the Emmett Boots went down $20, I ordered a pair in the last 30% off and have not received yet so if I decide to keep I will ask for an adjustment or reorder. Also had the Cotton Silk Popover since it was available in my size again but it was gone before I could check out.

  13. I'm avoiding final sale like the plague, no matter how badly I want the coral double serge hacking jacket!

Shopping at Land's End instead, they have 30% off everything and free ship over $75 (before discount, usually) with code GIVING pin 1715. I wanted to share here since they don't seem to be advertising the sale on their website.

I bought the tall (yay!) essential long down parka for $55ish, to replace my J.Crew long puffer from 2010 that is unflatteringly puffy, and one of the hood snaps fell off. I am going to donate it... it is definitely still wearable, but the Land's End one is just so much better.

    1. Debating between JCrewlet Long Belted Puffer Jacket and LE Womens f(x) Down Coat. I decided JC Wintress too $$ and I remember reading favorable JCA reviews about crewlet puffer. Now with this code (thanks J.CrewJD!), the LE coat seems like better buy.

Any thoughts crewlet puffer vs LE f(x) coat?

      Delete
    2. I bought an LE puffer (the Diamond Down Coat) earlier this year trying to save money. I ordered my normal size at JC and the LE puffer was huge. I also thought it looked very cheap - not anywhere near the quality of JC. I returned it to Sears and wish I had never ordered it as the return was a pain too.

      Delete
    3. Thank you so much for the Lands' End code -- I was waiting for another 30% off + free ship!! I just ordered the Tenley wedge booties for $55 (nicer than the MacAlisters IMO).

      Delete
    4. I bought the JCrew Wintress Puffer this year in the black and I absolutely love it!! One of my favorite parts is how it has thumbholes in the sleeves (like the lululemon jackets)--something that they don't advertise but they should. It is so cozy, and with the belt it is perfect because it is actually flattering, something that is near impossible in a puffer coat. I probably could have got the Tall coat size as my arms are kinda long, but I am happy with the regular and have worn it probably 20 times already.

    5. Catherine K, The fx coat is really nice. My mom bought it for herself. It is definitely comparable to The North Face/LL Bean as far as quality. It definitely "looks expensive". It does not add bulk and I really liked the little pattern on the fabric.

It is miles above the crewlet puffer, although it is also sportier. If you want a less sporty option, the essential long down coat fits the bill. Compared side to side with the fx, they are similar in weight and style, but the fx is more outdoor sporty looking and the essential down is more "fashion" looking. I hope that makes sense!

Kelly L-G, I agree that some of the LE coats are ugly/cheap looking. For example, the Cire down jackets. So shiny, so ugly!

      Delete
    6. Grande, so was I! My "save for later" section had about 15 things in it. Was so happy when the code came to my mailbox!

  15. Thank goodness for this sale. I thought I was done with shopping but I just couldn't pass this one up. I've been stalking the Biella Patent loafers since Fall 2011, I know, right? Feeling frantic and worried that it might sell out in my 5H size, I ordered it without the 30%. Sure enough JC brings back the promo hours after I had placed my order. So I had to draft an email to CS asking them to apply the 30% to my order, and they did! Stalking these shoes for over a year paid off! I ended up paying only $116 - with 30%, shipping and sales tax! Ok I definitely need to stop shopping for awhile...I already got in trouble with the hubby this AM. Being on break from school gets me in a lot of trouble, I can't wait to return next Monday. :-)

    1. I LOVE the Biella loafers! I ordered mine back in November when there was a 30% off promo after stalking them for almost a year as well. They're incredibly comfortable and I've received quite a few compliments on the shape/color (bronzed clay).

      Delete
    2. @jennifer - I like the bronzed clay color. Yea, so many missed opportunities with the Biella. I even regretted not buying it when it was offered in Metallic Silver, Fall of 2011. I ordered the dark pewter color and I can't wait for it to come. I guess JC will be retiring the shoe since all colors are on sale or maybe not.

  24. A couple of things:

I ordered the Mona leather pumps in my normal size and they felt sooo tight when I tried them on that they were in my return pile. I tried them on yesterday to try a few other things on and after a few minutes of standing in them, they started to actually feel comfortable. Not sure I could walk for miles in them but I could wear them around the office. Anyone have any thoughts on whether I should keep them or get them stretched out? Don't want to size up as it always ends up with an unsightly heel gap and feels slippery and unsafe.

Reluctantly, I returned the cafe capri in winter white wool. It is website only and $99.99. The extra 30% did not apply to it when I ordered it and it was not final sale when I ordered it, but it is final sale now. It is a gorgeous pant. The pockets show through but my black underwear didn't! That is pretty awesome for a white pant. I returned them because $99.99 for a white pant was too much for me but I am sort of regretting my decision.

Had to return the cashmere mini cable sweater in lemon pulp. As usual, what looked lemon yellow on screen ended up being bright yellow (not as bright as neon kiwi but still pretty bright).

    Replies
    1. I had the Mona in Patent leather and initially I too felt they were painful to walk in and seriously considered selling them since I had only ever worn them at work. I am glad I didn't, after wearing them a couple of times they are a lot better! I wouldnt walk a mile in them either, but they are quite tolerable and the cuteness factor really kicks in. Hope this helps!

  25. Just stopped into the 45th and Madison store. In the sale section there is a huge stack of the navy tweed capris with the gold thread running through the fabric for 29.99 - 30%. There were also lots of other solid wool cafe capris but I didn't check the price. (This is what happens when you try to push capris on women in the winter, JC!)

I'm abstaining from final sale, other than to reorder 2 coats I previously purchased which are now cheaper. Got 2 double cloth coats for $119 and $141 each, pretty happy with those prices.

    1. ITA about the capris in winter line!! I know lots of women here are big fans of the cafe capri but I just can't bring myself to buy them for the winter! Completely impractical for snowy upstate NY. I so wish I could though...
