"Thanks!" to many of you, including Karen, as well as rynetta PhD (in this post), who let us know that J.Crew had an update to its website last Thursday (click here to view online). Apologies for not realizing (and posting!) this sooner. For some reason, I did not notice it.
There are some new arrivals for men (click here) & women (click here). {wahoo!} It looks like Crewcuts (click here) has been updated, but not the J.Crew Collection (click here).
Finally, the latest catalog (click here to view) is available to view on J.Crew's website.
My top pick from the new arrivals is a classic striped top with a twist thanks to the playful neckline: the Peter Pan Merino Sweater in Stripe (item 36078; $89.50). I love both "navy nector" and "silver ivory" versions. I can't wait to check this one out in person!
As for jewelry... The Tortoise and Brass Link Necklace (item 56265; $110.00 ) is already on back-order! It looks similar to the previously offered Resin and Rhinestone Link Necklace (item 52029; $85.00). I own the latter necklace in the tortoise shade and it so pretty thanks to the rhinestones on the links.
What items are you most excited about and why? Which items are you surprised (or not surprised) to see? Which items did you hope would be included? Were you expecting a bigger roll-out? Also, did you receive the latest catalog? :)
Well, Alexis, I didn't even catch the merino sweater (above) as a new item. There were so few, I admit I wasn't very thorough as I was being drawn to that d*** final sale stuff! Merino is usually dependable as far as quality - hope that is still true!
ReplyDeleteLOL Suzy!!! Me too!!! I keep looking (and buying) from the Final Sale section that I never bothered to look at the main page, let alone the new arrivals section. ;)
DeleteI like the Biennial briefcase.
ReplyDeleteThe WHAT??? Im checking that now!
DeleteI've mostly been focused on final sale as well. The first of the no. 2 cotton pencil skirts are out - I like the spearmint and melon colors. I've really been wanting a true orange color for some time but I think the melon will also work for me. I got a mint cotton mini last year and love the color so the longer version is on my wishlist. Also fab is the clover tweed no. 2 pencil - fabric looks beautiful! Alas, the high here is 8 degrees today so it will be awhile before I will be tempted by spring items.
ReplyDeleteLooking for some positivity here: I just placed a store search thru Live Chat for the cocoon coat in black in 00. Since the rep didn't say it was sold out nationwide (like I've heard before), I got a glimmer of hope. How do these usually turn out for y'all? I just want the coat. Actually, I just want to stop having to get up at 5am to check for the coat :)
ReplyDeleteTaylor
Had to laugh about the 5am!!! I do it too some days.
DeleteHad some at Garden State Plaza in NJ. Not sure sizing though. Give them a call!
DeleteI own the Cocoon in green also in size 00. I am 4'11 for reference. I initially bought a size 0, and found it to be a tad big on me, thats why I had to size down. Good luck on your search.
DeleteSaw some at Roosevelt Fieldd garden city - store was not busy & SAs are lovely.
DeleteI don't blame you Alexis for missing the new arrivals - this must be the the smallest rollout ever! :)
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime, if anyone is looking for the scroll print Jules (sold out on-line) there was a huge rack of them in the Burlington MA store on Sunday. All sizes.
Can't reply to my above comment, so...Nevermind--got the thumbs up email that my cocoon jacket has been found! Less than an hour later, wow!

I think it's interesting (odd?) that there are two tortoise bracelets. I really wish JC would put more details into the descriptions, such as length and width. Has anyone seen the two IRL for comparison?
ReplyDeletemaryeb, I have TORTOISE LINK BRACELET, item 42751. It is just over 7 1/2" long and 1 1/2" wide. HTH
DeleteThanks, it does.
DeleteThe Tortoise Link Bracelet has wider rectangular links vs the Tortoise Link and Brass Bracelet has round links with brass between the resin links. I personally fell in love with the latter when I saw them in store. I tried on both, but obviously liked the latter. The Tortoise Link Bracelet looked more plain IMO, but I'm very partial to gold. HTH!
DeleteOT, but Chicago JCAs...
ReplyDeleteI know a lot of people said they preferred the North Ave store to the Michigan store in the Location Series guide, but is it worth the trip if I'm staying in the Gold Coast? I'll be on the corner of E. Chestnut and Dewitt.
I do have a B&M in my city, but only one.
You'll be right downtown by water tower place too so lots if shopping. Jcrew is up the block in Bllomingdale building and again, lots of shopping. I'd stop in if you're in the building but if you're not shopping for anything jcrew-ish then there's lots to do elsewhere. Oak street is nuts too!
DeleteOT, thought I'd share this video of girls in a Romanian orphanage wearing Crew Cuts outfits sent to them by J. Crew for Christmas. Point your mouse to the right of the video to read the full story. It's quite sweet and makes me think Mickey et al are pretty decent deep down. http://girlsack.com/post/40505003971/my-ex-coworker-dear-friend-and-lover-from#notes
ReplyDeleteHi Alexis! I just called the J. Crew store in Arden and they're having a sale this weekend the 19th 9am-8pm and the 20th 10am-4pm.
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know! I will be sure to have a post about it this week. :)
