This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this post) says it best, "You know, that thing you bought because you love it and you keep pulling it out and then putting it away without wearing it?"
Please share your J.Crew item (either that you own or are thinking about getting) that you would love help creating an outfit with.
Also, please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel free to include links to your blog (where you incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance! :)

ReplyDeleteJust wondering...is anyone wearing their No.2 pencil skirt in the cotton leopard print in the winter weather? I just snapped one up on super-sale and will love it in spring/summer, but thought maybe with black tights and a sweater it might work in winter too. Thoughts?
ReplyDeletePlease.... I need help styling the yellow matchstick cords (lemon gimlet).
ReplyDelete@Clicquot - I don't have the leopard print cotton skirt but I do have the paisley print cotton pencil and I have been wearing it this winter with tights. However - with the cotton lining (not sure if the leopard is the same)the skirt doesn't drape well at all wearing tights so I also wear a slip underneath...sort of annoying but otherwise the skirt bunches up horribly and catches on the tights. I say if you can get it to work with the tights, go for it! HTH!
ReplyDeleteClea dress in pine... Can I wear a blazer over it? If so, what color? What color accessories? Ahhh! I have coveted this dress for so long and now that I have it, I don't know how to wear it without looking totally plain.
ReplyDeleteAny ideas on styling the blackwatch plaid #2 pencil so it doesn't look holiday-ish? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteClicquot, I think it would look great with a black or red sweater!
ReplyDeletesavvy shopper, I always find a grey or a silver colour looks great with yellow. I would stay away from green or brown.
ReplyDeletesavvy shopper, try any shade of blue, turqoise or teal. I haven't seen that yellow in person, so teal may not work.
ReplyDeleteWendy, what about a bright plum? I think black would work, too, and not be too holiday.
Thank you Rose and math teacher!!!
ReplyDeleteHi J.CrewJD, I love how they styled it with the leopard Edie, maybe a leopard scarf or sweater. Maybe the darker wool scarf they brought back or the mohair cardigan in leopard? My word verification is "trials".
ReplyDeleteThanks Shekster! That is a great idea. I have the lightweight wool scarf that came out a couple months ago that I totally forgot about... I will try that!
