It's back! The Final Sale (click here) has reappeared on J.Crew's website. "Thanks!" to many of you, including Naomi & Anon at 5:27 AM (in this post), for letting us know this news.
I guess we all knew that the removal of final sale was not going to last forever. But why did it have to return so soon! ;)
UPDATE: "Thanks!" to many of you, including Lauren H, JTS, Crystal, Slastena, Jean, Sophie, & Em (in this post), as well as Anon at 10:38 AM (in this post), who let us know that J.Crew has changed the sale section back to no final sale. (I think this took place around 9:30 AM this morning.) This is fantastic news!!! :)
What are your thoughts on the final sale's return? Did you know it was coming? Are you happy to see that the "final sale" was removed? ;)
What are my thoughts on this? I have a string of expletives too horrendous to print running through my head. I loathe final sale - and I'm not buying anything from it. Period.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for Banana Republic and Martin + Osa.
I guess I'm pretty surprised by this. I don't understand the motivation for flipping back and forth so quickly. Did they expect to sell more when they made it regular sale and then realized it didn't make that much of a difference? Or were so many people returning things they bought on sale that they had to put a stop to it? Or maybe it's a sign an extra % off is coming? please please? I'd be interested in other people's theories of why they switch back and forth so often. . .
ReplyDeleteP.s. the sale section just updated with a whole lot of sold out items. Why do they do this to me :(
ReplyDeleteDo we really need a post on this subject?, it is discussed everyday.
ReplyDeleteboo hiss is all I have to say. but not surprised...
ReplyDeletei can't believe they brought it back!! boo!
ReplyDeleteYeah, everything I clicked on was sold out.
ReplyDeleteWow -- this sucks!!
ReplyDeleteLuckily, I placed a HUGE order yesterday (huge b/c I bought different sizes, colors, etc... so I could take back what didn't fit!) so thank goodness I didn't wait until today ... that would have been a real bummer ... but a plus for my credit card bill!! ;)
I've made too many 'final-sale' mistakes ... won't be buying more until it's not final sale!
Makes me glad that the item I rec'd yesterday from J.Crew was bought BEFORE final sale...because it is wayyy too big!
ReplyDeleteYes...just got lilah in small fuschia 29.99, beaded floral tee in coral 9.99 , rolling ruffles in warm blush small 29.99, cafe capri white size 6 19.99,linen ruffle cardigan in navy 19.99, and a secret wash shirt for DH 19.99, and cute crewcuts skirt for DD 16.99. 146.00. I'm done. And HAPPY!
ReplyDeleteHopefully, the return of the final sale will also be a return of a % off and free shipping???
ReplyDeleteI agree. J.Crew's final sale is awful. I will never buy anything that is nonreturnable from then again. I love J.Crew's clothes but the when it's nonreturnable it always looks hideous and I'm stuck with it.
ReplyDeleteI will not even look at the final sale anymore. I am buying so much less from JCrew as a result. I placed 4 orders during the spring sale. Glad I did now. Who knows when I will be able to buy again...
ReplyDeleteIt's been so long since I've purchased anything from final sale that I've forgotten whether or not it says "final sale" when you check out. The one item from sale that I'm thinking about purchasing doesn't have those dreadful "final sale" words in red beneath my item in the shopping cart.....does this mean I'm safe?
ReplyDeleteIsn't there a way around the final sale? Like you bring the item back and say that your Mom bought it for you?? (I know, I know, how very dishonest of me ....)
ReplyDeleteActually....my sale page doesn't say "final sale". It still says "Spring Sale" so I went ahead and snuck my order in there.
ReplyDeleteI've been successful in returning a final sale item by calling in and explaining that the item I purchased didn't fit like other items that were the same size (it was huge!!!) and they just made a note on my account saying I could return it.
ReplyDeleteJ.Crew website says it's "spring sale" now, not final sale...
ReplyDeleteIt says "final sale" on my laptop but "spring sale" on my desktop. I'm using the same operating system and browser on both. Crazy!
ReplyDeleteSpring sale, not final on mine... Weird..
ReplyDeletei just almost had a heart attack (i had just ordered!) but mine said spring sale and nothing on the order has those pesky red words under it....
ReplyDeleteI have placed an order this morning but my order confirmation page doesn't say final sale on all the items I purchased. Hope this is the same on the packing list when I receive the items.
ReplyDeleteI for one will be returning the majority of the items I've purchased in the last few weeks - mostly because I wasn't sure about the colors or styles (based on the online photos) and I felt more comfortable ordering - because I had the option of returning. So maybe I'm an example of why they're putting a stop to it. On the flip side, I'll be buying a lot less now - I just can't stand to have more unwearable items sitting around waiting to be posted on eBay. It's too much work!
ReplyDeleteStrange. I just have spring sale, too.
ReplyDeleteI just placed three orders. Ridiculous but it was one of those things where I was rushing through checkout before my item disappeared. I finally got Penelope Ballet flats! Who knows if they will ship though.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, the sale section still says Spring Sale and none of the items I got had the dreaded final sale red type under them.
EM
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky that I was waffling on them!
Marymoo
Hi Everyone! Thanks for letting me know that J.Crew has changed the "final sale" back to no final sale. This is great news!!! I have also gone ahead and updated this post. :)
ReplyDeleteOT, but has anyone found JCrew in your TJMaxx store? I am wondering if mine will ever get another JC shipment...
ReplyDeleteP.s. the sale section just updated with a whole lot of sold out items. Those items have been on the website all along if you just searched by keyword or item number. I bought a bunch of Astrid jackets last week.
ReplyDeleteI use Amex to pay for my J. Crew purchases so I can get my money back for anything I don't want, regardless of whether it is final sale or not.

ReplyDeleteI think J. Crew is trying to make us have panic attacks! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that they took off the "final sale" because final sale without % off seems worthless to me.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that it's clear now that they changed it back to spring sale. I just placed an order that I was hesitated to place earlier this morning because I wasn't sure whether the size will fit my husband.
ReplyDeleteMarymoo: LOL! That is so funny. I got two pairs and they are both "released" so we will see what happens! The 9.5s right? Well I got one pair for me, and one for my mom... but we both really wear a 10. We are going to try to jam our feet into them but if that doesn't work out I will get in touch with you in case you want them! Oh, such adorable shoes.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know for sure whether you can return items that do not have any mention of final sale on the receipt? I bought some items during a "final sale" but there is no mention of this anywhere on the receipt or packing slip. Can they be returned? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAnon at 3:23: Yes, you can return items bought during final sale that are not marked final sale on the invoice. I have done it.
ReplyDeleteHmm...mine still says Final Sale when I go to the site.
ReplyDeleteI still am showing Final Sale....I did place an order though and no dreaded final sale notes on it.
ReplyDeleteAnony@11:13
ReplyDeleteHow does that work with AMEX exactly. I have one...but don't quite know what you mean. Thanks.
Hi Anon,
ReplyDeleteIt is called Return Protection. I cannot say for sure if it is included in all cards, but you can get more info here:
