This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to take advantage of using your Red Card, to see what's available in the Spring Sale, or to see some new Spring arrivals in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!
Please let me know, anyone, if you see any v-neck sweaters on sale in size XS. Also looking for Ringspun Rosette Tee in XS.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I picked up the last travel trench in navy, size 0, on sale at my B&M for $80. And a gateau skirt in champagne, size 0, for $50. I wasn't sure at the time if I was going to keep them but they seemed like such a good deal. If anyone really wants either, I'll ship at cost, before I return them this week.
jcsusan87 at gmail dot com
Let me know if you see Aubrey Jackets in navy, size 0 or 2. Or put on it on hold. TIA! Has anyone been able to use the red card when calling the stores?
ReplyDeleteHi, there are a few of the tissue rolling tank in warm blush and natural on sale at $29 at the Washington Square Mall, Tigard, Oregon. They also have some capri pants on sale for $19.
ReplyDeleteAubrey-
ReplyDeleteI called a store yesterday to have them ship me a dress and they wouldn't do the red card or my student discount. I think I'm going to take it to my local store and see if they'll adjust the price! It never hurts to try!!
I returned a 0 navy Aubrey to the Mission Viejo, CA store today. 949.347.0135. Hope you can snag it!
ReplyDeleteAubrey - If you are referring to the linen ottoman Aubrey, I saw one in 0 at the Las Vegas store (Fashion Show) on Mon nite. $29.99. They only had one...no other sizes.
ReplyDeleteThanks to Anon 12 47, and "For Aubrey". I'll try calling both tomorrow :)
ReplyDeleteAubrey,
ReplyDeleteI have a linen ottoman aubrey in navy in a 0, I took the tags off of it, but I have never even worn it! Its so cute, I just have entirely too many jackets!! Let me know if you are interested!!
pumpkernoodle AT mac DOT com
I might go since I need to return a couple things...I'm curious to see if anything else has been marked down, too. :)
ReplyDeleteHi, I visited yesterday one of the Manhattan stores (Madison) and there were definitively some good deals. Maise jackets are now $59, all the seaside shorts are 19.99, shoes have been further marked down (patent Cate slingbacks are 69.99) and a lot of belts (the wide patent ones for sure) are on sale. They had tons of the French terry cardi but I didn't see any s or xs.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone sees the Brigitte metallic heels in metallic sienna in a size 10 please let me know.
ReplyDeletesherbie210 at hotmail dot com
Would love to find the gladiola print skirt in a size 4...if you see one, let me know: cjackson523@hotmail or mention it in this thread :) TIA!
ReplyDeleteAnon 12:37, I returned the rosette tee in XS to the Tucson store. Try calling them.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking for the rosette tee in natural in a Small. The XS was too tiny in the shoulders. If anyone sees this, please put on hold and email me and I will call the store. My email is mrsnonia@aol.com.
Just saw on jcrew.com a cascading flower Astrid Ivory in a 10 in case anyone is still looking... (of course not in the 'official' sale section) but in the secret sale section... type in astrid in search and it comes up.
ReplyDeleteTwiga
Isn't this the usual Friday topic? I saw this, thought it was Friday, then realized no, there's still a day to go :-)

ReplyDeleteFYI I was able to use the red card on the red phone at my B&M store here in Greenwich. It was for full price suiting items in tall. Which they do not carry in store. They were very nice and I did not push for any further discounts. Also I ordered the Jack Purcell sneakers from J CREW, way too big. I found the same shoe on Zappos, in the size I needed for cheaper and they shipped them overnight for free. They did not write my name on my card. But I probably won't abuse it as there is nothing of real interest to buy in store.
ReplyDeleteOh my it is Thursday! LOL I will make a quick run to B&M this weekend. I hope to see more prices slashed from last weekend. I would like to find a Navy and fushia Nicky skirt in a size 8.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen the Silk pleated-ruffle tank in stores? I'm curious whether or not the off white color is lined and how straight the fit is. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOT - Canadian JCAs - if you return items to a store when visiting US, do you get the duty back? e-mail CS after the fact?
ReplyDeleteanonymous at 12:37 am/jcsusan87
ReplyDeleteI bought a v-neck sweater at the Rockaway Townsquare in NJ early last week, and they had a lot of them, in various colors, marked down to $19.99. I haven't been there in over a week, but it may be worth a try. Their number is 973 366 5353.
Good luck.
@Summerila
ReplyDeleteThey should technically do either one of them. You can call the customer service and complain.
Off topic--When will the site be updated with May arrivals?
ReplyDeleteIf anyone sees a Faille Maisey jacket in Champagne size 2 could you please put it on hold and email me or let me know where they have some. Thanks!
ReplyDeletesbash123@yahoo.com
maryw2062-
do you know what colors of the vneck sweaters are $19.99? Tia!
:)
I'm going to BM today to do some returns will report about further sales. I returned a XS rosette in natural to the Emeryville store a few days ago, it was too tight in shoulders.
ReplyDeleteSA said new arrivals in store on Monday, 4/20.
I purchased 3 cotton modal knit cardigans from B&M - new item already marked down from $49.50 to $39.50, used the red card = $29.63. No marking on my red card by SA. Not online.
ReplyDeleteLong length - fabric much nicer than the thin snaggy Summerweight V-neck cardigan.
These are in the same muted color palate - dr grey, light grey, off white and putty.
Ashley
ReplyDeleteI bought one in navy blue a little over a week ago and I really like it. They run a little big, by the way, not like prior seasons of the cotton v-neck sweater that were a little short and TTS or even smaller than that, so if you're a small you may need an XS. I got mine in my usual size because I like a longer sweater (I HATE exposing my back or worse, my undies when I bend over) but the arms are longish, too, so I could have sized down with no problem. I saw them in springier colors, too, like a light limey green. That doesn't mean they are still there, but the Rockaway store is an acknowledged "clearinghouse" for merchandise from other area stores before the stuff goes back to the warehouse, so I'd say it's worth a shot. And you can't beat $19.99!
Good luck!
anonymous @ 10:03 I have returned items to J.Crew and have received the full amount back. I work with a PS, but it should be the same for all of us.
ReplyDeleteWent yesterday and will go again to return stuff on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI saw a ton of Maisy jackets at the Brea, CA store. I didn't check for sizes as I wasn't interested.
There are a lot of stuff on sale on the website, and they allowed the 25% off as 'one time courtesy' when I called from the red phone.
JCrew guy in Canada - thank you. I'll take items back with me to Florida next week, hoping to visit a store in Orlando.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if this type of question is okay, but I just ordered the berry-trim Nathalie tank dress, and I am wondering if anyone has any feedback on the fit of this dress.
ReplyDeleteI tend to go between 2 dress sizes and I am mainly wondering if it runs small and how low cut it really is.
Thanks in advance!
Hi all,
ReplyDeleteAs many of you may know from previous posts, I'm planning on going to the Los Gatos B&M this weekend. They've really stacked the incentives for me with;
A hand written note from one of my fav SAs (there are at least 2 amazing people @ that branch)
A sale $25 off any purchase of $125 or more (offer ends April 28th)
A brand shiny new storefront!
Reeallly hope there's some lovely things left this weekend.
Hope to see some of you there!
Heather:D
Anon @ 11:19 AM - If no one answers about the Nathalie dress, you should definitely call customer service to ask for the measurements to help make your decision.
ReplyDeleteJust in case anyone is interested I am going to be returning a Havona tank, size 10 or 12 to Bridgeport village store in Tigard Oregon on Friday afternoon. I ordered both sizes and am still debating on which one to keep.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone been to the Bridgeport village location recently? Any good sales or new items?
Scooted over to the South Point (Durham) JC @ lunch and this is what is in the sale section (mostly):
ReplyDeleterolling ruffles tank - dark slate, natural, Lt Pewter, Shell - 29.99
Michelle Merino's - 19.99
Tons of Putty Library shawls - 39.99
Tons of Saturday pants - 39.99
Blush cafe capris - $19.99
Several colors of vneck tissue and painter tees - 19.99
Printed Zebra and Seahorse Tees - 24.99
The promo'd cardis were hardmarked to 59.99 (now why not 49.99 since they were on promo for 59.50)?
Tons of beach dresses but didn't look at them
Did notice a dazzling dots (?) dress size 2 in Rose. Must be a return b/c this store doesn't carry the more special occasion type dresses.
Scored 3 Michelle's and ruffles tank for $70 - YEAH Red Card!
I just stopped into a store over my lunch break and picked up the Heavyweight jersey cabana dress in dark charcoal for $29.99 (39.99 on sale minus 10 with 25% off red card). I noticed on the website that the only colors on sale for 39.99 are white and navy so happy that the dk charcoal was on sale in the store. Also purchased the boyfriend military jacket (would not have if didn't have the extra %25 off) - I was surprised how big this ran - I had to get an XS and I never wear an XS in anything! Would like to have gotten the Soirée sateen blazer (now that it's marked down)in spicy olive but they didn't carry it.
ReplyDeleteThis was the first time using the red card and the SA asked for my id and wrote my name on the back. When doing so she said "We have been having some discrepancies with these...". I am wondering if increased sales=discrepancies.
Ashely - Palo Alto store had at least 3 Champagne Maiseys in sz0, might have a size2 as well. I tried it on and while it was cute, I have too many jackets.
ReplyDeleteOther stuff in store:
- lots of saturday pants
- 19.99 Linen/cotton shorts with the buttons at the hem
- French terry cardis
- Lots of sale shoes (mostly flats, some wellies)
- A few more of the GIRAFFE shorts and FRESCO shorts/skirts - Fresco skirt rang up as $19.99!! I know they had sz4s
- Frenchie in khaki, lots of sizes, $69.99 marked (but not sure at register what it would be)
non-sale they have some Corsage tees, but they are going quick!
happy shopping~
Not much new added to sale at Ann Arbor B&M. A half rack of the rolling ruffle tank, a dozen of the beige garland silk camis (super pretty) and the same tees as previously mentioned. I went in with a list of things from the website, but nothing came home with me. The corsage tee that's not the perfect fit one looks cute, but my size wasn't there. Not TOO sad, but I would like to use my red card before it expires.
ReplyDeleteThanks Maryw for the vneck info! I'll be sure to call!
ReplyDeleteAnon 1109, and JCbellemarie THANKS! I'll be making some calls for that jacket!
Marymoo- thanks for the sales run-down and congrats on getting some great items! the ruffle tank is pretty cute!
Can anyone compare the fit of the Maisey jacket to the Maggie jacket? I'm wondering if the pleats in the back give them a similar fit. I was surprised how much I love the Maggie as back pleats are not usually something I like.
ReplyDeleteTIA
I got a gold mini skirt for $22 w/ the red card and two pairs of Danielle sandals for $55 each!
ReplyDeleteLots of cute spring stuff.
hey everyone,
ReplyDeletefor those of you who have seen michelle cardis for $19.99 in stores, does this include all colors? or just a select few. thanks!
- michelle
Xoxo, I don't know if it's the same thing than the Maggie, but I have a IRL picture of the Maisey from the dressing room on my blog here(trying a 0). I've tried it again yesterday and liked it more (especially at $59.99) Hope it helps, even if I couldn't take a pic of the back!
ReplyDeleteMichelle (Anon @1:50)
ReplyDeleteI think it is all colors. At S. Point - they only had pewter, desert brown, a lighter brown, charcoal color, and a melon.
MaryMoo
so um...if no one wants their red card or are finished with it, I'll gladly take it!
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
i have both the maggie and the maisey and they are almost exactly the same other than the fabric being heavier on the maggie.
ReplyDeleteI'm really sorry to re-post, but I'm a little desperate for advice. Did anyone get there Victoria cami drycleaned? Did the pleats come out ok? thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletestacy- did u size down on the maisey? or did u get the same size as your maggie? thanks!
ReplyDeleteany opinions on the charlie jacket? would a non-petite size work for someone who normally wears petites?
ReplyDeleteAshley,
ReplyDeleteI own the Maggie jacket and I just tried on the maisey today in the store. I sizee up in the Maggie to an 8, but the 6 in the maisey was perfect. I always have issues with their jackets being to tight in the shoulder area.
If anyone sees the crocodile cocktail jacket in size 0, please let me know. Thanks in advance!
ReplyDeletectorborg@gmail.com
Thanks for the info Stacy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the photo and review Ema. BTW, I LOL at your most recent post about your baby cacca at the sample sale. ;-)
Thank you too leaderboys. Nice to know the Maisie will be a bit roomier.
ReplyDelete- added to cart. ;-)
Anyone been to the Fashion Valley store (SD) lately? Any good deals??
ReplyDeleteMNtoNY 12:50pm:
ReplyDeleteThere's a bunch of Soirée sateen blazers ($99) at the Columbus Circle store today. More sizes in spicy olive than in slate. No seashell. HTH.
If anyone sees a Michelle Merino Cardi in Key Lime in a sz Small please let me know!
ReplyDeletesherbie210 @ hotmail.com
Interesting. My SA was gracious enough to place an order for dresses/shoes/etc. over the red phone for me (since these items were not available in our store), and get the 25% discount. Then she sweetly added "but they had to charge you shipping."
ReplyDeleteThis is getting so old. I'm getting to the edge - and ordering more and more from gap/banana republic/old navy these days. Free shipping PLUS huge discounts - and even during a sale (ordered a $275.00 dress for $98.00), there was $7.00 max shipping at BR last weekend.
J Crew is def. getting less $$$ from me these days.
RE VICTORIA CAMI // CLEANING
ReplyDeleteI got mine drycleaned and it turned out just fine--I was really worried too but it looks great. I do wish I had a steamer myself, but I would say go ahead with the drycleaing, should be fine :)
If they ever come to Canada J.Crew should definitely open a store in Calgary. I just got an email that Crate & Barrel is opening its second Canadian store here in Calgary. That's right fellow Canadians, it's Calgary before Vancouver or Montreal. ;-) I hear Anthro is opening in Toronto this year too so hopefully Calgary is also next and maybe, just maybe J.Crew won't be far behind. It would be a luxury to visit a B&M for a change.
ReplyDeleteanon 4.02: I really don't think anyone cares about store openings in Calgary.
ReplyDeleteanon 3:50: Me too, I purchased a great cardigan at the Gap using the 20% off coupon today.
ReplyDelete^ Wrong! I was VERY interested in Calgary, thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteAnybody sees a Jayne dress in tea rose size 0, would you please hold it under Chance and let me know. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteThere are plenty of Canadian JCAs and I think many of us are interested in certain store openings in Canada. I know I am. Thanks for posting the info 4:02.
ReplyDeleteHi all! Hate to be off-topic, but does anyone happen to have a coupon code for White House Black Market? TIA!
ReplyDeleteSorry to be OT, but I just got a red card in the mail today. Pretty late in the game, but I had just moved, so they had to forward it from my old address. Pretty funny, too, since I think I've purchased one thing from them in the past 3 months. Oh well, nice surprise...
ReplyDeleteI may be waaaay to late for this but hope springs eternal, right? If anyone sees the small metallic thompson tote in silver could you please let me know? Actually I'd consider the large, too. Thanks ladies.
ReplyDeletegolson at fuse dot net
Amelia,
ReplyDeleteI found only one coupon, $20 off when you purchase $80 or more. Hope this helps.. Code: 8822
The Michelle cardi's are a great deal at 19.99 minue the red card if you have one ... 14.99! My B&M had a ton in every color, they're 59.50 online. I got charcoal, snow, blush, melon, basic colors but they'll go w everything. They'll probably pill, but I'm OK with it for that price.
ReplyDeleteStill couldn't pull the trigger on rolling ruffles ... if it looks like a rag on the hanger, what is it going to look like after one wash?
can anyone comment on how the michelle cardi fits compared to the portland cardigan? thank you!
ReplyDeletexoxo and Ashley,
ReplyDeleteI tried on the Maisy in a size 0 today and I thought it felt bigger than my Maggie, which is a 2.
Tons of items in the sale item at Columbus Circle on two floors. Some things I spotted:
ReplyDelete--French Terry Cardigans. White--$19.99; all other colors $29.99
--Saturday Pants
--Ruffle tanks--$19.99
--Rolling ruffle tanks in natural ($19.99) and pink ($29.99) and only a few slate ($29.99)
--Lots of pink deco dot cardigans
--Zebra tees ($24.99--the pink ones, not the beaded ones)
--Bubble tanks
--Racks of denim trousers and various jeans (sorry, I didn't look carefully)
--Oh, and one Dazzling Dots skirt in a size 6. I saw this hanging in the downstairs fitting room. It wasn't reserved for anyone.
Hope this helps!
Anon @ 3:50 - I am sorry that they charged you shipping. :-( My PS called in a few things for me over the red phone that they did not have in the b&m, the 5" chino shorts in light kelly ($29.99) and the corsage tee in breeze. They honored the 25% off, plus I received free shipping.
ReplyDeleteI was at the 17th & 5th b&m tonight, I picked up another Sanur dress (in black), the catalina jeweled sandals in black ($129.99) & the Pietra jeweled capri sandals in gold ($98). What's interesting is that they still have the promo on full priced shoes (25% off), but they applied it to the catalina sandals, which are on sale, plus I also got another 25% off with the red card. I paid $73.12 for them! :-)
Of note in the sale section, the cashmere argyle vest (I only saw salmon mango silver) is $59.99. It is still $99.99 online. I also saw Saturday pants, sateen blazers, french terry cardis, Solid silk garland cami in white sand (sizes 10 & 12), beaded grosgrain belts, a few cate patent slingbacks in soft seashell (%69.99).
This is OT, but could anyone tell me if the satin Martine heels (from last year, I think?) run true to size? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe Portland and Michelle are basically the same with a few different minor details. I like them both. The Portland is a tad longer and softer in my opinion. The Michelle also has the wide band trim/edge. I have had no Pilling in either style. I love JCrews Merino Portland, Lea's and Tnecks. I also like the feel and fit of the cotton v neck sweaters. I will look for a few more this weekend since they are on sale for 19.99 and I have my Red card.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone is interested Martin & Osa is having a 30% off on already reduced items.
ReplyDeleteThe code is 49322244 and it is good til 4/21.
I ordered a blazer from M&0 and it is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteIf anyone sees the sale pinstripe charcoal or is it carbon (the sale color) 120s suiting in size 12 (pants and jacket) or 14 pants, could you please place on hold under Milly? I'd love to replace my too small-post babies-suits (yikes) in preparation for interviews this summer as I pick the most fabulous time of the decade to return to the workforce. Woo Hoo! Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteI just got home to find an shipment waiting for me. Here are a few quick reviews.
ReplyDeleteRingspun rosette tee in shell
I decided to find out what all the fuss was about and ordered this tee in shell when it came up on the sale restock. I have to say that I am so not impressed. There is nothing exciting about this tee. I would much rather have had the rosettes placed in other areas where they would be visible peeking out of a cardi or jacket. The color is pretty washed out too. It fits TTS and nicely, but it's just not anything special IMO. I realize that some love it, but the appeal is lost on me.
Frankie bag in guava
I can't believe my luck to score my second Frankie bag. You probably think I'm crazy to buy it in guava since I already have it in cherry but I love the red version so much and used it a lot through fall/winter so I wanted the guava for spring/summer. This bag is well made and totally stylish. I love, love, love the pebbled leather. The shape is unique and it is really a classic that became my go-to bag and I have a lot of designer bags so that is no easy feat. If J.Crew made Frankie in other colors I would probably buy them too.
Scoopneck painter tee in jasmine
This is a nice-fitting tee, although slightly sheer. It feels comfortable and I love the jasmine color with my skintone. I think this will be my last ringspun tee as I'm seeing the fabric absolutely everywhere. IME that means it will soon become either the new standard or passe. I'm waiting to see which. I like the ringspun a little less than the perfect fit tee fabric, just because of the sheerness. It's amazing how sheer some tees can be.
Skinny patent belt in blanched almond.
I have this belt in black in size M, which I felt was sized quite large, but good for wearing at the hips. I bought the blanched almond in a S and it is a lot smaller than the medium, I will only be comfortable wearing it with high-waisted bottoms that hit at my natural waist. Nice, quality belt in a warm spring neutral.
Slim stretch shirt in black
I love the fit of this shirt and really like the look of a crisp black shirt over a pair of white pants or skirt with silver jewelry. You can wear any color of shoes/sandals and the look is totally summer and totally classic. This weekend I plan to wear it with white jeans, strappy sandals and throw a colorful scarf around my neck if I need some warmth.
Metallic silk mini in fresh mint
This is strictly club wear for me. It will look great with tanned and toned summer legs. Very comfortable, very flirty and fun. Feels like you have nothing on because well, you practically don't. But that's the point, it's a skinny little mini that's made for fun.
Have a wonderful day everyone.
Walnut Creek info as of Thu:
ReplyDeletelots of Saturday pants. Marked at $39.99, ringing up at $29.99. Also a seersucker type, but not sure of the price.
bubble tanks, incl size 0
4-6 tan Maisie jackets
dresses: pique pavillion, ruffle jersey, beachcloth ruffle
sz L rolling ruffle tanks in blush & natural, no grays
low stock of Merino v-neck cardi, but there were some there in beechwood
lots of linen cotton seaside shorts - stone, white & warm blush + another darker tan color
2 small gold metallic thompson totes
1 large pink leather thompson tote
misc belts at $19.99 & $9.99
headbands that have been on sale
2 navy atelier jackets, but I don't remember the size, definitely not a 4 or 6
Anony@3:50
ReplyDeleteI got charged shipping on both orders placed from the red phone with my red card. That is company policy after all.
However, I do agree with you completely. JCrew charges way too much for shipping. I had to pay $12.50 in shipping for a couple of silk tanks. Ridiculous!
Anon 1:16 am - What size is your rosette tee? I'm desperately looking for one in a size S and I would happily purchase it if it doesn't work for you.
ReplyDeletePlease contact me at emallier@hotmail.com
Also, if anyone sees a small metallic Thompson tote in one of the NYC stores today, could you put it on hold for me under "Emanuela" and let me know ? Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteEmail: emallier@hotmail.com
Anon 1:16, thanks for your review of these items that we don't usually hear much about.
ReplyDeleteOn another note: does anyone know if the silk garland camis have been marked down yet at stores? I like the tea rose color which is not available online. Also wondering how the "garlands" will hold up in dry cleaning as they're raw-edged.
Francesca- silk garland camis in the yellow print and the champagne have been on sale a week or two at the B&M.
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot to add I'm also looking for the charcoal/carbon pinstripe suiting skirt is size 12 or even 14 (could have it taken in). Thank you!
ReplyDeleteJennifer-
ReplyDeletethanks for the Maisey sizing info, did you get up getting it? Or was the 0 still too big? TIA!
OT - did anyone else's order history disappear from the website??
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know what time they are updating the website? Everything item that I select I get the "We are Sorry" message.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Sherbie: I was at the Orland Square (IL) store last night. They had a small stack of key lime Michelle cardigans & I think they had a size small. I know they had lots of size XS. Telephone number is 708-460-8217. There were quite a few navy and melon Portlands, too.
ReplyDeleteThis is a long shot...but i would love to find the wool/cashmere soiree cardigan with the crystal buttons in the kelly green size med....or any color...so love this sweater and missed out on it...would def purchase it pre loved too!!!
ReplyDeletei am planning on stopping into the Ridgeland, MS store... in between renovating a house.. went last week, as they were closing, the MObama skirt was there in size four!!!
ReplyDeleteDid you see the flip flop email....
Just had the BEST experience ordering from a random east coast stores looking for that Maisey Jacket! The sales rep lady even let me use my red card on a PHONE ORDER! She also grabbed all the Michelle cardigans in my size so I could choose which colors I wanted!
ReplyDeleteSUPER DUPER customer service!
She told me that have tons of sales stuff left so if you're searching call the White Plains store in NY
heres the #: 914-997-6171
AND only $5.95 to ship EVERYTHING!
HTH!!!

Dear Anon at 7:18--
ReplyDeleteI like both the Portland and the Michelle, but the Portland's nicer, in my opinion. The Michelle runs a little larger in the body, but not the sleeves. The knit seems a little looser on the Michelle, so it isn't holding its shape as well as my Portlands. The buttons on the Portland are smaller and it's a simpler, cleaner design.
Totally agree w/Fidele. The Portland is my favorite, though I did purchase a few Michelles because the Portland didn't come in pewter or charcoal. The knit on the Portland is fantastic. The Michelle, to me, seems larger and more boxy but the sleeves don't have any "give" to them. I'm wearing my Gondry tee and a Portland cardigan right now. So comfortable!
ReplyDeleteEma - my ringspun rosette tee is size M. I've seen your IRL photos on your blog and you definitely would swim in a size M.
ReplyDelete1:16
Here is the final update on my transaction from the weekly exchange. This morning the mail carrier delivered an envelope from the seller. Inside was the uncashed money order that I had sent for payment and a small note. She said that she is extremely busy due to family concerns and is not likely to find time to ship the package to me so she was sending me back the payment. She apologized and asked for my understanding during her difficult time.
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say? Not the result I was expecting but I'll take it. If I ever enter another transaction I'll use paypal. I hope things work out for the best way possible for her and her family.
Thanks for all the support here on the blog.
Anon @ 9:28am - you are the best!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip.
To patiently waiting -
ReplyDeleteI think we bought from the same seller and she actually claims she shipped to me. What's your email? I am curious to know whether she's intending to refund my $90 (the check that she cashed.) I had a hunch it was the same person...
chyleung@gmail.com
Sherbie: No problem at all, happy to help. Now is the time to stock up on those fabulous cardigans. I could not resist and bought four yesterday. At $14.99 with the red card, just could not pass up!
ReplyDeleteIf anyone is looking for a tan travel trench, the North Michigan Avenue store in Chicago had two yesterday afternoon, size 2 and size 4.
ReplyDeleteI went online this morning to get phone numbers for local NYC stores and saw that there's a store set to open on April 21 on Broadway that will be a men's only store. Maybe the Liquor Store location has been so successful they're expanding and opening more of these types of stores? Thoughts on whether we'll see this trend continue outside of NYC? I'm of course secretly hoping that with a men's-only store around the corner from the Prince St store they'll get the guys' section a proper home that's less cramped and expand the women's sale section downstairs more ;)
ReplyDeleteashley - I wonder if the sweet papaya lyla pump is the same fabric as that floral pencil skirt in instyle magazine this month. I can't wait for that skirt to come out!
ReplyDeleteashley what colors/sizes did the store have available?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Were you able to use your red card over the phone?
Ashley,
ReplyDeleteI didn't get the Maisey. It was a little big in the chest area, plus I don't have a red card, so I wasn't ready to fork over $90 for it since I just placed a big order online! It was cute though!
Has anyone seen the ROLLING RUFFLES TANK in an XS in their store?
ReplyDeleteI've just called the stores where it was mentioned above, but no luck. If you see it can you let me know or put it on hold for me?
Thanks!!
Neverenoughcardis-
ReplyDeleteSacramento Arden Fair Mall had blush and natural rolling ruffle tanks in XS on Weds..you can give them a call. HTH!!
Cardmembers Sneak Peek:
ReplyDeleteGot an email in my inbox about the Fall Preview. Cardmembers get a week's jump on the new roll-outs. Included: A very cute clutch...the ubiquitous Pearl Cluster Necklace...and some VERY do-able peeptoes! Love them, and may have to indulge if my rewards card comes (last card statement promised it was on its way...). Wonder when stuff will be in-store...
I am glad other are enjoying shopping. I just have lost interest due to the economy. It just gets scarier everyday and I don't NEED anything. There will always be cute items out there....
ReplyDeleteThank you to EVERYONE for all of the info! Does anyone know what stores have the Merino Michelle Cardis in size M? I already have the beechwood & dark charcoal colors so any other colors would be fabulous! TIA!
ReplyDeleterec'd an email this morning from JC...for "cardmember's...."
ReplyDeleteHELLO GRAMMAR!!!
they should be so embarrassed.
Hi Anon 12:59,
ReplyDeleteSorry to be OT. I just recv'd an email from Banana Republic offering 20% off their suiting. I know it's not the same as JCrew, but it might be helpful for re-entering the workforce.
http://bananarepublic.gap.com/?redirect=true
Also, I've noticed that the SF (415 546 6262), Palo Alto (650 462 1190) & San Jose (408 984 5440) B&Ms often stock suiting. One of them may have the 120s.
HTH,
Heather:D
JCrew in Oprah's mag!
ReplyDeleteTwo of JCrew flats are featured in O Magazine this month--don't have a scanner, but hope someone else can share.
Can anyone comment on the Tissue pleated top? (Has 3/4 sleeves, ruching around a rounded V Neck)...
ReplyDeletePlease let me know, thanks all!
The Asheville, NC store has lots of michelle cardigans - all colors all sizes $19.99. And lots of french terry cardigans $29.99. Hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteCancel the glowing report earlier on the cotton modal cardi's.
ReplyDeleteI tried one on in the store, it fit but I did not like the color. So, silly me, I picked up the 3 colors I liked in the same size. I just pulled them out of the bag and noticed they looked very big. Yep, each one was larger than the other and much bigger than the one I tried on in the B&M. I will return them and not look for the right sizing. I am not going to go through a stack of merchandise to check for size consistency - not my job.
Jodi: The same thing happened to me at the Gap, and a BR, different colors = different sizing. Everyting was made in China.
ReplyDeleteTwo quick questions for all of the helpful folks on this board:
ReplyDelete(1) Has anyone tried washing the perfect-fit cotton tees or silk-linen sweaters? Any shrinkage? (I am actually debating keeping them depending on whether or not I can get them TO shrink).
(2) When you make an online order with multiple final sale/non-sale items, is there anyway to tell which items were final sale based on the receipt? I'm trying to remember if I can return the Marjorie suede flats but the receipt doesn't seem to say anywhere if it's final sale or not.
Thanks in advance!
Those french terry cardi are sooo long, you have to be tall to pull it off. I sent mine back it came to my knees I am 5'4.
ReplyDeletePerfect fit tees do not shrink, they have to be put in the dryer to go back to their original size.
ReplyDeleteYour invoice will tell you which items are final sale. Usually the final sale items have an asterisk next to the item and at the bottom of the form (the return portion) final sale items will be listed down there too. HTH!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to check out the wedding gowns and maybe see if they still have the tan travel trench anon 11:29 posted about.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous at 2:37 - thanks for the dryer tip because I've always griped that the Perfect Fit tees stretched out of shape, or stretched enough to look messy on me.
ReplyDeleteNeverenoughcardis:
ReplyDeleteSaw a few XS in natural and shell at the NYC Columbus Circle B&M today at noon. The number is (212) 823-9302.
Never mind. I will not be going to the store. You have to actually buy the dresses you want to try on and make an appointment at the store to try them on?!?! I thought they actually had a few in the store that you could look at.
ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone who posted about the Michelle and Portland cardis. I shop almost exclusively online--the nearest B&M is very small. When I found out about the promotion, I called my store and was told they would only put ONE sweater on hold for me until Saturday. Thanks to the posts here, I managed to get cardis from White Plains, Orland Square, and Asheville, with my extra red card discount! So take that, snotty SAs at my local store!
ReplyDeleteI won't be going until Monday. Here's hoping it has something colorful to offer with the new roll out.
ReplyDeletethe elusive, ORIGINAL rose tee is listed on ebay...size xs, for those of you who were looking for it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the preview Ashley!
ReplyDeleteTo Anon @ 8:48am:
ReplyDeleteYes, my order history disappeared too. I placed an order a few evenings ago and the CSR said that they were updating the system and she couldn't find my profile, so she had me make a new one. Presto, when I went to log into my account online and track my order later, I had to reset the password and then discovered that only the order I just placed was listed. I did talk to CS later, who said I could send them an e-mail to ask if they could link my old order history to my new profile, which they'd forward to IT. HTH!

ReplyDeleteAll,
ReplyDeleteI am in a JCrew crisis! I have been eye-ing the Michelle Cardigans for a month, but do not have a JCrew within 5 hours of Tallahassee, FL! Would anyone be willing to pick me up a few at their store? I will pay promptly through paypal! Any colors, seriously! Size Small. Let me know if you're interested in helping a fellow JCA out?
Thanks!
Emily
emilyqschuman@gmail.com
Emily,
ReplyDeleteIf you call the store directly, the store will ship the cardigan to you (assuming you are able to pay w/a credit card). I did this with a J.Crew store out-of-state for an item that was difficult to find.
J Crew is also in this month's Martha Stewart Living. There is an article on handbags, and models are wearing the cafe capri, merino cardi, and a leather sandal.
ReplyDeleteMy account was locked and when CS helped me get in my order history had disappeared. This happened after I placed a Find It order over the phone. When CS unlocked my account the linked my order history back up right then and there.
ReplyDeleteLizPoms:
ReplyDeleteI purchased the Tissue Pleated Top in a small, my regular size, and the v-neck was too deep for me. I think the v-neck is lower in real life then on the model in the photo. The front of the top is two layers and was not see through in the Pewter color. It was extremely flattering on though, a bit sexy actually. I purchased when it first came out and returned it as it wasn't worth the price. HTH.
Hi All -
ReplyDeleteI just received an invitation from my PS telling me to go to a special preference customer event in which we will have the first choice of all their summer items. The event is before the store opens next week. Call your PS at your local BM and see if they are having the same event!
Has anyone seen the Coralie (suede) heels IRL? I really like the mint/pastel green color but am wondering if they are cute irl or if they look matronly? opinions? thanks!
ReplyDeleteHey, I saw a cute summer Jcrew cardigan i guess from the upcomming summer collection in Instyle check it out at jcrewobsession.blogspot.com
ReplyDelete"online only, select women's FLIP-FLOPS JUST $10*
ReplyDelete(summer is almost here...)
*Prices are as marked on select styles. Does not include J.Crew Retail or Factory stores.
Limited time offer and subject to change. Previous purchases are not eligible for this discount."
the aforementioned flip-flop email
I was shopping at my J.Crew store today and I forgot my red card. My personal shopper told me it was okay because she could look up the code for me. It turns out that every store got a list of all the customers who received a red card in their area. It very helpful and I was able to pick up a few cardigans with 25% off.
ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone for the info on where to locate the Michelle Cardis! I really appreciate it! I was able to call a store and get 2 Michelle cardis & 2 rolling ruffle tanks in my size shipped to me AND I was able to use my red card discount! One of the stores that I called mentioned that they would NOT be able to honor my 25% off w/ the red card because I was not on "their store list"!? So there must be an official "list" out there w/ names of who received these cards & which store(s) they shop at!?!? *Happy Shopping*
ReplyDeleteHi Anon 1:16 am and 11 am,
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for the rosette tee in Medium in shell. If you're interested in selling, I would love to buy from you via PayPal. Email me if you're interested at love2shop4bags AT yahoo DOT com.
Thanks!
Hi. I just want to second the comment about the selection at the Brea CA store. I just got back and they had a lot of stuff. A bunch of Michelle merinos, mostly XS, S, and L. Lots of Saturday pants, embossed dresses and other cover ups, lots of travel trenches, about a dozen khaki ones and two navy (one was size 2). They also had a lot of the chiffon trim cardis, cashmere argyle cardis, small gold Thompson totes, large Thompson totes in the light tan color, oodles of shorts and skirts, including bunches of Wendy skirts, fresco skirts, sateen skirts, charmeause skirts, and an ivory gala clutch. Plenty of sale jewelry too, including the birdcage necklace and the pearl and chain bracelet.
ReplyDeleteHope this helps someone!
quick question about the michelle cardigans. i stopped by my local store today and they had the striped michelles for $19.99 but none in my size. i called another store which had them in stock in my size but they were ringing up $39.99. can anyone verify whether they really are priced differently?
ReplyDeleteAnon 805:
ReplyDeleteThe Michelles aren't striped, only solid colored. You probably encountered the "Merino MICROSTRIPE Cardigan." Those are currently $39.99 at the stores last time i checked.
Anon @ 8:05, I bought the striped michelle-esqe (the difference is the striped version has pockets) today for $19.99 before my red card. HTH
ReplyDeleteAnyone seeing a micro-stripe cardi (either color) in a medium - if you let me know I would appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteMarymoo
marymoo86@live.com
FYI - the micro-stripe were 19.99 @ my local store (Crabtree, Raleigh, NC)but had several XS and S in the putty stripe color. Just no medium!
ReplyDeleteMarymoo,
ReplyDeleteRaleigh Jcrew has some beechwood color micro-stripe cardigans for 19.99 before red card. Not sure if there is M but pretty sure that there were S and XS around 7pm today.
Does anyone have a report from the Cambridge, MA store? : ) I'll be heading over there tomorrow and will post an update.
ReplyDeletepakcola, i'm not sure of the exact sizes but the sales associate told me that their sales section was pretty packed. sorry for getting back to u so late! oh and yes, i was able to use my red card to buy those. hth!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking for the Danielle's, if they're on sale. Any leads are gratefully appreciated. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteApparently my B&M (new haven CT) has a 30% off final sale items promo going on, no idea how long it will last though. Strange thing was it wasn't advertised at all in store the way it usually is (bright red signs and all), I didn't even know about it until all the sale items I was buying rang up 30% off during checkout. Maybe this is going on at other stores too though...
ReplyDeleteAnon 10:06pm--
ReplyDeleteThe 5th Avenue, NY location had a pretty stocked shoe section, so they might have the Danielles. Worth a call:
New York Fifth Avenue
91 Fifth Avenue NY 10003
212 255 4848
Good luck!
For the Raleigh/Durham JCAs out there:
ReplyDeleteI hear there are some merino microstripe cardis in beechwood locally. Has anyone seen the cardi in breeze, in xs/s? I like the beechwood, but like the breeze better, but it's a great price either way...
Thanks!
Sarah R.
Bluenana:
ReplyDeleteHave you seen any microstripe cardis on sale in NYC?
Slightly off topic, but I was at Jeremy's in SF today, and I was surprised to see a bunch of tops from this season -- silk garland halters, hand-cut applique tees, victoria ruffle camis, the tissue tee with the large chiffon circles all over. The tees were going for $19 and the nicer tops were $34.... definitely worth a look if you're in the SF bay area :)
ReplyDeleteJust checked my mail and received a handwritten post card from the manager at my nearest Jcrew store! He wanted to make sure I received the 25% discount card (which supports how other JCAs found out there is a list of customers at each store) and asked me to go to meet with a personal shopper. He also states that they'll be getting their summer line on 4/20.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice personal touch!!!!
OT ... Could someone, please, tell how is the fit for the spectator Mary Jane peep toes? Thank you!

ReplyDeleteOT (and completely unrelated):
ReplyDeleteThought this was interesting:
12 Major Brands That Will Disappear By 2010: http://tinyurl.com/d2grkvGap (GAP) Old Navy and Banana Republic. Gap is a three-brand company living in a two-brand body. In March, same-store sales for the Gap North America flagship brand were off 14% following a 14% drop in the same month in 2008. Sales at Old Navy were flat for the same month but dropped 27% in March 2008. Sales at Banana Republic were off 16% this year and 8% last year. Gap announced that year-to-date net sales were $2.08 billion for the nine weeks that ended April 4, 2009, a decrease of 9% compared with net sales of $2.28 billion for the nine weeks that ended April 5, 2008. Old Navy has more stores than Banana Republic, 1,067 compared to 573. In the fourth quarter of last year, Gap had less than a 6% operating margin on $4.1 billion in revenue. In other words, if same-store sales at the company continue to drop 15% month after month, Gap is going to run into problems. Old Navy is still the weakest brand of the lot. Gap will have to close it down.

ReplyDeleteBeen to both S. Point and Crabtree and neither had the breeze.
If you are looking for XS/S you need to go ASAP to Crabtree. These were the only sizes left in the beechwood microstripe, beechwood, pecan, champagne, maybe blush (these 2 combined), slate, and black. No 'fun' colors.
Good Luck.
Wishing (and my wallet not wishing) there was a Jeremy's here! Sounds like some great finds.
Slight OT - Need some fashion help!
ReplyDeleteHave a wedding that I am going to in June and had planned to wear the sharkskin skirt in buttercup (finally snagged) b/c the color online looked as if it would match these Liza printed heels I have (the blue/white print with yellow bow). Well the skirt was nowhere near the color onscreen nor color descriptor as it look more green. DANG!
Anyone have any good ideas for something simple for a 4pm wedding that I could wear with the Liza's? I didn't think trying to match the yellow as it is a true yellow would be this difficult.
Appreciate any ideas/suggestions (even sales pitches- size 8 ;)!
Marymoo (marymoo86@live.com)
I have shopped at ON more than JC in the last few months. Their quality has been pretty good, the tees wash great, cotton sweaters you can throw in the washer and sometimes the dryer unlike J Crew.
ReplyDeleteBR styles have really been a turnoff in the last couple of years. The decline of the Gap does not surprise me, they have been going down the tubes for awhile.
What does B&M stand for ?
ReplyDeletePic of the Liza's:
ReplyDeleteClick Me
B & M - Brick and Mortar; actual store, not internet
ReplyDeleteI hope ON doesn't shutter - I like their tees a lot - for between $5-10, they hold up well, and they wash without getting holes in them. I much prefer them over J.crew's tees, which are poor quality.
ReplyDeleteAll retailers - even a stalwart like walmart - are hurting. I would think Gap's cash reserves are deep enough they can survive the recession. I agree with another poster, BR doesn't do much for me any more, though occasionally I'll find a suit there I really like. They do edgy chic skirts suits much better than j.crew. But on the whole, I don't spend much money at BR. Then again, because of j.crew's decline in quality, I've bought maybe three items from them so far in 2009.
1:26, IMO the spectator peep toe MJs fit like a dream, if we are talking about the same pair of shoes! The ones I have are the past season's, the patent that came in dusty rose, dk. grey, and flame (red/orange.) The heel height is very comfortable for wearing for long periods, and the toe box does NOT restrict my rather wide foot. Lengthwise they fit TTS, too, unlike another JC pair I tried recently that seemed extra long. HTH!
ReplyDeleteKristina, can you tell me which Jeremy's location you saw the garland camis? I thought they had several stores in the bay area. Email me at mrsnonia@aol.com. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi JJC--
ReplyDeleteI love this sweater! I was actually looking for it when I went to the Fifth Avenue and Columbus Circle locations, but I didn't see it.
I bought two of them about six days ago at the Garden City (516 741 2739) and Huntington Station (631 424 1900) locations. Worth giving them a call!
HTH!
Can anyone comment on the fit of the Short-sleeve striped stretch broadcloth shirt in blue? And is it in stores?
ReplyDeleteMy size is sold out in blue online so I would like to do a find it as they are still full price.
TIA
JCREW WEBSITE ISSUES AGAIN! I cannot log-in to my account and when I clicked "forgot password" - even though I knew my password was correct - the password they sent me would not work!!! I called JCrew and after trying to stonewall me that this was not a sitewide issue, the rep admitted that they are having issues. Now I have to email JCrew directly to fix my account or check-out as a guest. I am SO done with JCREW.
ReplyDeleteAnybody else having a problem this morning?? ARGH!
I really like Old Navy. The quality of the items I have bought for my entire family has been very good for many years. I also like BR a lot. I have had more quality issues with JCrew than the other two above.
ReplyDeleteJCrew's continued website problems are such a HUGE headache. I understand people being OVER them for that reason alone.
ReplyDeleteagree w/ anon. Old Navy is having some cute stuff ~ I never use to shop there, but have found some cute basics, for way cheap. Its worth it to check it out, gap ok, Banana, sometimes they have some cute things, esp. dresses, and love, love Banana jewelry, better, IMO than JC.
ReplyDeleteOT: Can anyone comment on the fit of the Alessia crackle peep toes? I tried the Claudia crackle pumps, but they were so tight around the toe box area as soon as I stood up I couldn't handle wearing them beyond 2 minutes. I don't know if they would have stretched, but I didn't want to risk it. The Alessia are almost twice the cost of the Claudia, but if others have had positive experience with the Alessia's perhaps it's worth the price--even with the cheesy man-made insole and sole?! Cole Haan, unfortunately hasn't made something similar to this. Thx!
ReplyDeleteThings are going to change over the next couple of years. It's going to be quite a dramatic shift and we will look back at the days before 2009 with fond memories. Inflation is coming soon, mark my words. The average consumer is going to feel the pinch more than ever, job or no job. A lot of retailers will be forced to close, merge or make drastic changes.
ReplyDeleteKristina, where is Jeremy's located in SF?
ReplyDeleteMarymoo -
ReplyDeleteThanks for your help! I was debating whether to hit Southpoint (closer to me) or Crabtree, but will definitely steer towards Crabtree. :)
Thanks a bunch, Bluebana. You're all over the place! Will given them a try. Good weekend!
ReplyDeleteanon 9:46
ReplyDeleteYes I'm afraid your predictions will come true.
This little blog is a bit of an escape from the current realities and, I really love it.
JCrew is executing so poorly, it looks like they are scrambling to keep it going with promotions such as the red card targeted to high income zip codes. Their PR machine is working overtime promoting S. Lyons and Mrs.O. I think the promos are not going to help because they are "old economy"where celebrity and exclusivity was the buz. People are looking at everything differently now. Quality, value, customer service are the essentials for retail going forward. Let me not forget style - I have loved the JCrew preppy with an edge style - hope they turn it around.
If anyone is still hunting for the Dazzling Dots skirt, they're available online in sizes 0, 4, 6, and 8. I stumbled across it and was shocked to see them in stock.
ReplyDeleteI do not live in a high-income zip code--I live in the urban center of a NE rust belt city. I got a red card, I expect based on the amount of money I spend online. If my store, which I use mainly for returns, got a list with my name on it, they certainly aren't treating me any better for it. Why my B&M thinks that "rude" means "exclusive" is beyond me. I'd probably spend more there if they were nice and helpful.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone comment whether they have seen the Short-sleeve striped stretch broadcloth shirt in stores? It is item # 13325.
ReplyDeleteThanks much!
love2shop4bags, I sent you an email about the rosette tee.
ReplyDeleteanon 11:20, I cannot figure the rudeness angle either. Last month I worked with a PS and last week I went back to the same B&M said hello to her and she looked me as if I was from Mars - I re-introduced myself and said she had worked with me previously, still vacant look. She made a pitiful excuse about not having her book with her to know what I had bought to coordinate and then avoided me until I checked out.
ReplyDeletedoes anyone have the item # for the striped michelle-esque sweater?
ReplyDeleteJeremy's in San Francisco is at 2 South Park, near the ball park. It is on a corner of South Park and 2nd street I think. They have a website, www.jeremys.com.
ReplyDeleteHave fun!
Can anyone give an opinion about the Cate Patent heels? I love all colors - stone, twig and seashell. Also, what about fit of the Deaville patent peep toe flats? I love the seashell there too. Finally, it seems as though people have had luck using Red Card on the phone?? Thanks in advance!!!
ReplyDeleteAnon 1:35,
ReplyDeleteI also liked the Deauville patent peep toe flats in soft seashell. However, when I tried them on at my B&M, they were incredibly wide. They just didn't look right on my feet due to the width.
They are incredibly marked down online, though.
There is also a Jeremeys in Berkeley on Telegraph and Ashby (I think that is the correct address).
ReplyDeleteHas anyone tried on the Premium stretch bistro pant? I would love to read a review! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAnon @ 2:05, I have the premium stretch bistro pant and the superfine cotton bistro pant too. I'll talk about the premium stretch bistro as that is what you've requested.
ReplyDeleteFirst, let me say that some posters on this blog have expressed dissatisfaction with the results after washing the pants, apparently due to color streaking. I've not had any problem with washing mine. I use the hand wash/delicate cycle on my washer with dreft, not regular detergent. I tumble in the dryer for 15 minutes on delicate then hang to dry on a pant hanger, after smoothing out the pocket linings. There has been no shrinkage in length or width of these pants after washing using the above method. Inseam is bang on 33".
The pants fit TTS to slightly more fitted. They are not roomy on me in my usual size, they are close-fitting, but not tight. Very comfortable to wear all day, thanks to a bit of stretch. The stretch also helps them keep their shape, no sagging. The front pockets lie flat against the pant, they don't flare out like some trouser pockets. I have the black so can't comment on the opaque factor for the lighter colors. One drawback for me is that there are no beltloops. I would like to wear a belt but it won't stay in place without the loops.
Overall I like these pants quite a bit and would consider buying another color if they go on a significant discount.
HTH
Marymoo - What about the slub cotton silk lattice dress (#12945)? It comes in either navy or a light yellow that probably match your shoes. With a little cardigan (maybe in a pink or red) it could be super cute!
ReplyDeleteI also think those shoes would look cute with a complementary color like light orange color (aka JC's cantaloupe), which you can get in just about any of their special occasion dresses or the Edie dress on sale. And if you had one of the navy flower tie belts from a few seasons ago (you can find them on ebay), that might be a nice touch.
Good luck!
@Heather.D
ReplyDeleteYou shouldnt even care about the Anon who was making rude posts. They dont even have the guts to post the comment with an id . I am pretty sure that its just one person who made all the remarks about long posts, delete comments etc.
Just dont care. I suspect its the same person who whines all the time when others write about them not receiving jcrew red cards and who corrects grammar as if this is an editorial .
This is a blog, there are no limit for length of the posts. Just ignore the Anon. Alexis wouldnt delete the posts, because they are not 'inappropriate ,obscene ,racist, homophobic, or personal attacks'
Take it easy !
(@ANON : By the way, my first language is not english and if the anon has no better work to do than point out my mistakes, go ahead !)
Anon @2:21: Thanks so much for that review of the bistro pant! I was thinking of getting the black, so your review is great. I also have had problems with the JCrew pants in size 0 being too big or stretching out and being too loose, so it sounds like maybe the size 0 would work for these pants. I think I'll try them, especially since they are on sale, but not final sale.
ReplyDeleteI tried to find reviews of the pants by searching the blog, but maybe the search engine doesn't search through comments.
Thanks again!
