ReplyDeleteI don't know if there is any guy reading this post out there but I have two ripstop cargo shorts that I bought at the sample sale for my husband and he doesn't want.
The size is 32W and the colors are kakhi and faded cement. They are in perfect conditions (no holes!)and look exactly as the item 92536.
I bought them for $15 each and I just want to recup the cost. Honestly they are great and I've tried to convince him to keep at least one, but he wants another color.

ReplyDeleteHmmm, I actually made pretty much the exact same bubble necklace and posted it on my blog last Wednesday. I find it interesting that this seller decided to make the necklace that I posted about on my blog and put it up for sale on the 19th.
ReplyDeleteAt any rate for those you that are interested in making a bubble necklace I will have a post on Wed or Thurs this week with instructions on how to make it. It cost about $30 to $40 to make depending on the stones you use.
Why would anyone pay $65 for an astrid boucle jacket, black, 4 to someone on here when it can be had off J.Crew's website for $59.99 and free ship? (and a transaction where you don't have to wonder if the other side is honest, like "patiently waiting" had to do).

ReplyDeleteI think the biggest is the Mall of America store (surprise, surprise ;) and they have consistently helpful staff. I also often go to the grand Ave. store and the Rosedale store. Neither are huge, but the Rosedale store is always surprisingly well-stocked for it's size, I've always found. Also, the Rosedale and Grand Ave stores are not that far apart so you could conceivably check them both if you had a couple of hours. I think the Edina store is good sized, too, but never really go to that one. Maple Grove is about 20 miles outside of town, so I don't think you'd want to try that one. HTH!
Amy - my favorite J.Crew in the Twin Cities is at Southdale Mall in Edina. They always seem to have much more than the Mall of America location, which gets ravaged by tourists and never has very much left. The one in St. Paul on Grand Avenue is nice too, but not as big as the Southdale store. HTH!

FYI, I was at Easton Town Center today and saw some of the new arrivals, including the watercolor skirt that was in Marie Claire.

They also had a tee with similar flowers in a couple of colors. I really liked the white color, but it was too see-through on one side to justify the purchase.

Hello Anon at 3:30: I wrote this back on Jan. 27th for another post here at JCA, but it still holds true if you really want to know about the hammered silk tank.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I should add is that I am smaller in the bustline, maybe 34C on a good day (usually a B)...so use that as a jumping off point. I have lost a little weight since I wrote this, but I still find the tank to fit well. I don't mind it being a tad loose.

I love my hammered silk tank. I have worn it as a glamourous add-on to outfits that would be mundane otherwise. I am tall, but short-waisted, so I bought the Petite 10 and it fits beautifully. I did not want a blouse I had to tuck in which is why I bought it in petite. I have worn it with the merino wave cardigan and it was plenty warm for me (and it was cold that day). If you want to see it in real life, I put in on my blog both on me and as a polyvore set...
I can't make links work (I need to learn) but click on my name and look for the posts: My first superfluity and my outfit...on me...before the party. (This post is from mid-January 2009.)
I got a ten because an 8 usually fits but I have heard when going with petite, always size up.

ReplyDelete@Anon 3:30 - I own both tanks. I have the hammered silk in a 6, and the Amelia tank in a size 4. I am normally a 4 in J.Crew tops, and they both fit me fine, although the 6 was a tiny bit looser. The biggest thing with the Amelia tank is that the straps are really long (for me, I'm short), and the tank sits pretty low in the neckline. I'm going to have to get my Amelia shortened by about 2 inches for it to fit correctly. HTH
ReplyDeleteAmelia runs small in the bust. I am normally a 4 in JC tops. A 6 in this was too tight in the bust. I am a 34/36C. I am not large chested by any means. I also found the straps to be long, and I am 5'10". It is an odd fitting top... I wanted to love it but it did not fit me!
ReplyDeleteI had a hammered silk tank and I got a 6 in that, because the pleats on the front looked bad in a smaller size because my chest pushed them out.

Hi Dina, Jenny, Em....thanks so much for the info on the Amelia and hammered-silk tanks! Wow, lots of hammered silk fans here. So it sounds like the Amelia runs either TTS or slightly small (perhaps individual variation when cutting the tops, the same way there is when cutting denim?). Either way, I'm thinking that if my hammered-silk tank is OK to slightly loose on me, the same size in the Amelia should be OK (and considering petites would be good). Thanks SO much for your advice!

I'm usually a 4 in JCrew camis and found the Amelia to be more fitted in the bust, which was fine for me because it prevented the neckline from sagging down. I'm a 34C. I found the Hammered Silk Tank to be really unflattering in the bust area; the pleats were pushed out by my chest and made the top look awkward, and then it was a lot baggier everywhere else than other size 4 camis that I have. As much as I loved the colors in the hammered silk style, it just wasn't for me. Love my amelia tank and wish I'd gotten more when they were on sale.

Totally OT, but I just returned from the 17th % 5th b&m in NY (yes, I went out in this miserable weather, they were holding a gold metallic Thompson tote for me - thanks to the JCA who posted they had these on the blog yesterday!). They have the watercolor floral pencil skirt (# 14864), $88, which I picked up with my 25% off card, plus an adorable halter watercolor floral beach cover up (#15624), $69.50, which I also got. I didn't see much else that caught my eye, except for a few collection pieces that were close to $200.... a navy blue top that had flowers on it, reminded me of the chiffon rosette tee, but this looks to be of more substance. If I remember correctly it was tagged at $195. I didn't look to see what it was made out of, maybe silk? Definitely new things out on the floor, but not a lot, unless this is just the beginning.

Sometimes things come on and off the site so quickly that a given item might not be available when the seller posts, but might come on briefly later. I definitely appreciate being able to find things here in colors and sizes that I can't get online (at least not without perfect timing and lots of luck) -- thanks to all the lovely JCAs here!

Just to join in the politesse here, I, in fact, ordered the charcoal boucle astrid in a 4 this morning, by phone, among other items & got free shipping.
