This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to take advantage of what's available in the Spring Sale or to see some new Spring arrivals in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!
I just went by the store in Tucson. A lot of items had been restocked since I was last there on Monday. The manager told me that most stores restock on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which is good info to know.
ReplyDeleteMonday I went in to look for a ruffle v-neck tee (not online yet). They had very few out in each color/size. Tonight they had tons.
I did not notice an additional percentage off sale items.
jcrewaholics.com is doing a giveaway. she's also encouraging people to download "gadgets" through her site. i did some research on this and every time you purchase something via jcrew by going thru her site, she makes money. she's so shady, i swear. i feel bad that someone like her has such a bad character. oh, and recently, she's changed her name from ebay id: rapunzel1921 to windowshop*online
ReplyDeletealso, windowshop*online WEARS her clothing prior to reselling them as nwt, nwot, new new new. so buyer beware. she's a rotten egg!
ReplyDeleteI am going to the Beachwood, OH store tomorrow... I'll let you all know if there's anything good!
ReplyDeleteI went to my B&M today and a few items were marked down or marked down further. The garland cami in white sand was on sale for $59.99, the saturday pants were marked down further to $39.99. Some stretchy bracelets were marked down to $14.99. Solid 3/4 sleeve stretch shirt in pewter down to $39.99. Cafe capri in warm blush down to $39.99. The crewneck, ring spun T-shirt (sorry can't remember style) with the blush or lavender and gold foil print down to $19.99. Some scarves marked further to $19.99.
ReplyDeleteanyone been to the Boston/North Shore area JCrews lately? I think Im going to make a trip this weekend
ReplyDeleteSeen in WC & Pleasanton
ReplyDeletefrench terry cardi in all colors - $29.99.
gateau skirt - $59.99
bronzed twig charmeuse pencil skirt - $59.99
(Pls only, I think)
deco dot shorts (gray) are $39.99.
* Critter shorts
* mahali dot (?) print 3" shorts
* Frenchie slicker
* walking trench
* deco dot sweater in pink only
Don't recall those prices.
Who cares if the other site is trying to make money. Why not.
ReplyDeleteThe site is ridiculously ad heavy and slow to load because it has so much junk. Not to mention that it doesn't provide any info or insight unavailable here or on the other great blogs started because of this one.
The site lacks soul. Best of luck to her.
I probably will be going to pick up a suit for my cousins wedding in May.
ReplyDeletehello ladies! If you happen to find the Large Thompson Metallic Tote in guava, silver, or gold, please let me know...please!!!! Thanks!! Just message me k. good luck ladies!

ReplyDeleteI will returning some spring belts I bought early on, not knowing what I needed. I haven't been to my B&M in weeks- so very excited to see the new merch.
ReplyDeleteMy Factory store had a special event last evening and I picked up some belts for $16. Apparently, there was a coupon available to those on the Factory mailing list? I thought I was on it!
Jeff- lucky you.... A wedding! I don't have any planned for this summer yet. Maybe I'll plan my own... :-)
TGIF Everyone. Whew! What a week.
Deni
Oh!
ReplyDeleteAnd I bought the Pique Pavilion Shift yesterday in navy to wear around my pavilion this summer... :-)
Does anyone have this little number?
thx,
Deni
Thanks to everyone for the deals already mentioned - now I have some idea about what to look for when I do returns/exchanges from the DC JCA outing tomorrow. will report back if there's anything fabulous at Montgomery Mall
ReplyDeleteHi Deni,
ReplyDeleteyes, I bought the orange pavillion shift last week for $39.99, will post pictures later today. I love it but it needs some fixes.
I saw a new tee VERY pretty yesterday at the Madison Collection store. It's a soft cotton tee with a cascading ruffle-flower around the neck (same cotton). They had it in lavander and aqua, I'm going tomorrow to check if they have it in other colors because they told me that they were just unpacking them.
BTW, the store was PACKED, probably as a result of Michelle Obama wearing the JCrew outfit during the G-20.
Tons of cotton v neck sweaters in navy, mint, and bright melon colors (all sizes) $19.99, French terry cardis all sizes (no light beige) $29.99, several mahali dot shorts the other dark gray dot shorts $39.99, Coralie heels (Daffodil and light eucalyptus) for $69.99/$99.99 respectively, travel trenches, Michelle merino cardis in lots of colors $39.99 at Westport...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Soon to Be PhD....what store location are you talking about?? Looking for the Coralie pumps and would love to get them for 69.99 to 99.99.
ReplyDeleteAlso, went shopping at the Destin JCrew yesterday and found the Frenchie Slicker is only on sale in the light khaki color. If you need that color, it is on sale for $99.99
Anon thanks for the heads up on the ebayer/blog owner that wears stuff and says its new. I was checking out some items from her recently. I am glad I did not bid. As for her making money on her site that is not a bad thing in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteCECE of GA,
ReplyDeleteCheck the Georgetown, Wshington, DC store. I think I remember seeing one or two of the colors up in the store lately.
Anyone going to the Asheville/Biltmore Village b&m this weekend? Would like to know how much the French Terry Cardigan is going for there...TIA! :)
ReplyDeleteKendra - do you live in the Boston area at all? There is a Boston JCA group if you can make it! (http://jadorethesestores.blogspot.com/search/label/Boston%20JCAs)
ReplyDeleteAs for the stores, we went to Copley not too long ago and they had a pretty decent selection.
Yes, online was super busy. Esp. special occasions yesterday b/c of Michelle wearing JCrew in London this week.
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if rapunzel921 posts here on the weekly exchange? And if so, what name, account, email etc she uses? It'd be good to know when I'm "shopping".
Thanks
CECE of GA- The Mayfair Mall store in Milwaukee, WI had several Gold metallic Thompson totes 414-302-0800
ReplyDeleteSuper nice SA's
Ema,
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing your photos and "fix" suggestions on the Pique Pavilion Shift!
Thanks so much,
Deni
I went to my Florida J.Crew store last night and I have to admit I was not impressed by their new arrivals (which is odd because I usually coo over their things)...but nothing really tickled my fancy at the store. Plus, their sale section was rather small :( I am hoping their next roll out of new arrivals is more to my liking (and perhaps comes in petites!)
ReplyDeleteHello everyone! I am going to try and stop by the Georgetown (DC) store tonight in search of a couple of meringue sleeve tops with my 25% off card. :)
ReplyDeleteA question for all you JCAs with a boucle astrid (i.e., the floppy flower jacket)-- has anyone attempted to remove the pockets? I pretty much despise them and am thinking about taking them off. I don't think it will be noticeable b/c of the nubby texture of the boucle, but perhaps another JCA out there knows for sure-- or has a more expert opinion than mine? TIA! :)
Thanks for the heads up about JCrewaholics. I used to subscribe on Googlereader to that one as well, but it was just so BORING. So I unsubscribed.... I get all I need here!!
ReplyDeleteGoing to the outlets today...so excited!!

CECE of GA - the NYC Prince St. store also had a few large Thompsons in the metallic colors.
ReplyDeleteWent to Columbus Circle last night. Pretty good deals (everyone else has covered the items and prices in this post that were noteworthy). I overheard a couple of SAs speculating on whether they were going to start 20% off sale merch today. Anyone been to a store today to see if it's true?
Thanks for the heads up too about jcrewaholics. I think she would compromise her first born to make a buck on jcrew clothing. I don't care that she's making money off her site, but to resell something as nwot, come on! We already know she wore it out to dinner!!
ReplyDeleteYay! I get to participate this weekend - I am going to the Hershey Spa this weekend so I'll be hitting up the Hershey Outlets. Any PA guys/gals been there recently??
ReplyDeleteGold metallic Thompson totes seen at Pleasanton, CA. At least 3 of the large and 3 of the small. Either Pls or Walnut Creek had one random tall pink tote in leather (non-metallic).
ReplyDeleteSherbie: Went to Rock center store just now and no 20% sale. And the sweater sale is also inconsistent with today's email (saying online and in store). If someone sees anything different, please give a shout.

ReplyDeleteHi, I'm searching for a pair of opaque tights in a m/l in dark fog (the dark gray color). If you see them at your store, please let me know. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteAnd my email...Thanks!

So forget Ms.Jcrewaholics and get miles for YOU while shopping for yourself. If you fly Delta register at www.skymilesshopping.com (its Free).

jackie from dc: Please let me know if you find anything good at the Georgetown store! I won't be able to stop in this weekend, but I'm hoping I can either Monday or Tuesday. Have fun :)
ReplyDeleteAnon @12:47 - thanks for the report. When I asked the cashier about the sale last night he had no idea whether it would happen, so maybe it was just bored SA musings:)
ReplyDeleteOT- I missed the weekly thread but
ReplyDeleteI have a pair of size 6.5 black Juliets that I am looking to swap for a size 7.
Mine are in perfect condition, never worn out of the house and I am looking for the same

anon @ 2:48 -- THANK YOU for the tip that you can get Delta SkyMiles for using their portal for J Crew. I've been missing out, but no longer! :-)
ReplyDeleteLEXIELOO, ANON@9:42, SHERBIE, BAYAREAREPORT:
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your help! I was able to get one for me and my mom! She will be soo happy! She's been wanting one since it came out and I said it was too gold but when I saw pictures of some Jcrew ladies carrying it, I fell inlove =) thanks again!!

anon at 8"04 am: the location was at the end of my post- Westport, CT.
ReplyDeleteHope you find them!

ReplyDeleteYES, i finally got my new catalog & want to check out a few things in person!
ReplyDeleteOFF-TOPIC...any vineyard vines fans? I want to order a fleece from them and not have it be baggy/bulky or too small. I wear a small in JCrew tops, got a small in my shipley coat this winter...wear a 2 in jcrew dresses...do you think i need a VV XS, S or M? if anyone has input i would really appreciate it!
thanks & enjoy the wkend!
THE rockefeller store has a few of the coralie suede heels plus a bunch of the cate patent slingbacks in pink and the brown. otherwise the sale section was pretty blah.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletei stopped in Canton, CT and picked up a french terry cardi for 29.99 and portland cardi for 29.99 and those cute lavender zebra shorts. all 25% off too :)
ReplyDeletemaybe going to check westfarms tomorrow.
25% off was with the red card... no additional off sale items
ReplyDeleteI went to the Pleasanton, CA store this week, and they had tons of sale stuff, the pique ruffle scoop neck dress in pink, and navy for $19.99, but, even the S looked way huge, so, I passed. They had lots of the twisted cotton trench $99, the tan frenchie trench on sale, lots of belts. I didn't get anything. I don't understand NWOT, bec. if it were 'new', why are tags gone? I'm always suspicious of that.
ReplyDeleteHi! I just came back from the Center City Philadelphia Jcrew and noticed the sale section grew from a couple days ago!
ReplyDeleteSaturday pants in all colors and the striped ones are $39.99
Mahali Dot shorts $29.99
Various belts and headbands $9.99
Swim tops and bottoms (forgot the price)
Linen lame bermuda $29.99
Various minis and skirts starting at $19.99
Chino 5" shorts $29.99
Deco dot cardigans $59.99
Prices all similar to what's offered in the sale section on the Jcrew website.
Monica,
ReplyDeleteI was just at the jcrew outlet in hershey on tuesday. i was pretty disappointed -- especially since I had the coupon for the factory store and I was ready to buy. They had a lot of cotton sweaters, but they just didn't seem like the same quality that you can get in the catalog or b&m. Plus, the fit was different -- the vnecks were longer and just not cut the same, and the cardigans were smaller. They had a decent selection of graphic tees which resembled last summer's collection (pink flamingo, banana, etc.) but were not identical. Hopefully they'll get some more stuff in before this weekend. Enjoy the hershey spa-- LOVE that place!
Has anyone tried the cropped matchstick jeans in the vintage fade wash? I'm wondering about the length on someone who's not a 5'10 model...
ReplyDeleteJust returned from the J.Crew 45th/Madison store in NYC with reviews:
ReplyDeleteDressy jersey ruffle dress - I had been eyeing this for a while on the website, so I was extremely pleased to find it on sale in my size in the parsley color after it had sold out online. I would be curious to see this dress on someone else because I did not feel it was flattering on me. It was really low cut so I'd have to to wear a tank underneath, and with the flowy shape and ruffles I would've liked it more form-fitting on top. That said, I loved the jersey fabric and found it extremely comfortable, and I loved the way it was paired with a belt on the mannequin.
Cotton-cashmere bouquet cardigan - Very cute. Found it ran a little big but I did not try on a smaller size to compare. I will probably be kicking myself tomorrow for not buying this with my red card - it would've been around $37! (I may be back...)
Stretch chino Frankie short - These were adorable and ran true to J.Crew sizing. I'm waiting for sale since I can't wear them in NYC for a few more months anyway.
Crocodile cocktail cardigan - Really soft, lightweight and pretty. Loved the colors and the print. Waiting for sale.
Skinny patent-leather double-wrap belt - The belts were coiled up in a bin on the display table, and as I was taking them out, I could already see ripples in the patent leather from having been wrapped. They were extremely lightweight and felt like they were made of foam. Disappointing.
And now for the 2 dresses I bought, neither of which have hit the website yet (some names and colors have been improvised):
Strapless cotton voile eyelet dress - OMG this is soooo nice. It was shown in 3 colors, slate with white contrast stitching, white with almond stitching, and navy. I originally wanted the slate but when it was sold out in my size I decided to try on the white just for fun and fell in love. It is form fitting on top with side pockets and a slightly a-line skirt, and it was extremely slimming and flattering. Even at $128, I had my red card and my size in my hand and could not rationalize putting it down.
The Sanur dress - 3 ways to wear it: (1) as a midlength strapless dress, (2) as a short strapless dress or swing top, as (3) a skirt. Ok, I soooo did not know that until I just looked at the tag. I tried it on as a short strapless dress with the top folded over as shown on the mannequin and it was stunning. Shown in (similar color names) guava, bright peacock, dark fog and black. Very reasonably priced at $68, and fits TTS. Form fitting on top with a loose, flowing skirt that hits at the knee.
Hope this helps my fellow JCAs!
Has anyone seen the Jayne dress in Tea Rose in an 8? Would love to snag it with the 25% off.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen the seersucker suit (women's) in stores? The seersucker pants from last year or the year before were so W-I-D-E at the bottom, so I was hoping to try this year's. I know it's early but still, I know summer will come at some point!
ReplyDeleteGood to know about the JCrewaholics site. I recently signed up for a free retail cash back program with BofA: If I use my BofA rewards credit card I get 4% cash back on all J Crew online purchases! I just go thru their site to access the J Crew site. It helps to offset the exorbitant shipping charges!! 4% is only one percent different than J Crew's credit card.
ReplyDeleteAlso- Got my red card today! Yay! Hit my B&M in Scottsdale and picked up the slub cotton cottage dress in Garden Green. It is super cute and very comfortable! I love the green. I did not like the gray - its just too much gray for one dress.

ReplyDeleteHas anybody been to the JC store in Fashion Valley or the one in Mission Viejo? Last time I was there the sale section was almost empty.. thanks!
ReplyDeleteGOLDCOASTGAL: I Really wanted the silver as well but I think its sold out! If any of you ladies find the Metallic Guava colored Thompson tote Large, do put it on hold for me and let me know pleasssssseeeee!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks a bunch! Have a great weekend ladies!
CECE
Went to the Charleston store. There wasn't a ton on sale. Did get a good deal on shorts I had wanted. The 5" chino shorts were on promo for $29.50. With my red card that were about $22. I got them in dark ochre. Get staple for the summer.
ReplyDeleteCECE OF GA,
ReplyDeleteThe large metallic Thompson tote in metallic guava is back on the website if you're still looking for it!

ReplyDeleteI cried yesterday! I went to Baltimore J Crew Harbor Store ( which I frequent since I work Downtown, but incidentally, b/c of my shopping ban, I haven't been to in a while). Guess what? It's CLOSED!!!So do other stores in the mall. The reality of hardship times is creeping on me. We do live in a semi-protected bubble here at DC Metropolitan area, but I can {finally} see how it's affecting the country. Soo sad!It was sucn a neat small store.Ahhhh!
ReplyDeleteSlastena-
ReplyDeleteThat news is depressing! I can't believe the Harbor store is closed... now, I really have no reason to venture downtown! On the news the other night, they were talking about the owners of local malls- GGP, and how they were considering bankruptcy. Guess the tenants are getting scared off... it's sad.
Hi, Jacquelyn, I'm in Tucson as well! I was there on Wednesday, agree that there are a lot more items now. I placed an order with the red phone using my 25% off card since the things I wanted were not in stock in the store.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking for the ringspun cotton rosette tee, item 13126, the one that came in shell and natural (not the famous rose tee!). If anyone sees that in the sale section of their B&M in XS or S, please let me know!
Dara, I tried on the ruffle jersey dress you mentioned whenI was in the store on Wednesday. I also found it to be far to low cut, and the way the V was spread out, it wasn't even possible for me to pin it up higher. It's an adorable dress on the hanger, plus it was on sale and I had my 25% off card. I really wished it would work on me!
ReplyDeleteheading to union square store tomorrow for the 25% off in store offer! looking for a few tees and maybe the white eyelet mini, and of course to browse the sale section. rockefeller store did not have that much on sale when i went on wednesday afternoon - also the staff there was very rude! it was the first time i ever went into a jcrew and didn't have people offering to help me find sizes, colors, or to put together an outfit. although one sales girl did tell me how bad a top looked on me, lol!
ReplyDeleteSlastena you cried because a store closed? I hope your kidding.
ReplyDeleteThere is 1 sequin zebra tee (grey) in Emeryville as of yesterday afternoon, size XL
ReplyDeleteDara and Desert Flower--
ReplyDeleteI also tried on the dressy jersey dress in Parsley. It's a no go. Loved the color, and did one of those things where you just stand in the dressing room staring at yourself in the mirror, willing the dress to look better than it actually does:)
It was way low cut, but the bigger problem was how wide the V was. Even with a cami on underneath it just looked awkward. The fabric was nice, but a little clingy in the rear on me. I wasn't a fan of having to think about what undies to put on for a dress that only half fit anyway. Big sigh though - the idea of the dress is so great!
Someone asked why something would be NWOT -- new with out tags. I'm not a seller, but a least twice in the last year, I've removed tags from something, but once I've had it on I've realized that it just didn't really fit or flatter me.
ReplyDeleteOne was a final sale shirt. The other was a pair of jeans that looked and felt great until I tried to sit down in them!
I've thought about trying to return, but both items were relatively inexpensive. If I tried to sell these things, they would definitely NWOT. I think it is OK is you've had the item on for less than 15 minutes, but I imagine some people may abuse the term NWOT.
^ totally agree. There is a big difference btwn taking tags off & then promptly realizing something doesn't fit vs. having worn the item. I don't know how somebody knows that a particular seller actually has worn the items she is trying to sell, but under any circumstance, heck, it's even possible to buy something in a store without a tag on it, as it may have fallen off. Usually sa's just use the style number for reference when ringing up the item.

ReplyDeleteI am a creature of habit! I like to live in one place long enough, I love to have realtionships with people working in a small grocery shops and markets I frequent. I like going to the same doctors, who knows my entire family. The store at Harbor was very nice. Martese, Patricia, Kelly were super sweet and helpful adn I enjoyed going there very much. Yes, I am VERY sad: to see them lose their jobs(granted younger ppl will find a substitute faster, but what about older employees who have been with company for awhile?), to see empty windows with a sticky tape across stating space available. Hope you can understand!
11:32, Yes Slastena has a heart, and she also knows when to use the contraction "you're", unlike you.
ReplyDeleteTake a moment to do some online research on "your" and "you're", and learn to use them properly.
Slastena-
ReplyDeleteNo need to justify! The SA's there were pretty great. A lot of them left the Towson, MD store to work downtown. I will miss it too!
PS- Don't feed the trolls (aka anons who have nothing better to do). They keep coming back if you feed them!
Anon @ 11:48 a.m.--that the blogger Jcrewaholics sells used clothing as NWOT tags was well documented a couple of months ago on this blog. In a nut, she "out-ed" herself by writing about purchasing and wearing certain items and then posting the exact same items for sale under her e-bay name "rapunzel1921" and describing the item as NWOT.
ReplyDeleteThis blog is getting crazy and I do not mean it a good way, it is dying a slow death.
ReplyDeletei always use ebates.com to get cash back when purchasing online
ReplyDeleteI purchased the ruffle dress in black earlier in the week. I am very petite and for me the dress fit nicely. I do have to wear a tank with it. But since its a casual dress I don't mind.
ReplyDeleteI would cry too if my local store closed. Like Slastena I am a creature of habit who likes to get to know a place. I am a regular in my JCrew. They know me and my children by name. This week they called me to tell me about the red card. If my JCrew closed I would be sad too. Good customer service is hard to find.

ReplyDelete^Look it up.
ReplyDeleteI'm just reading about the Baltimore Inner Harbor store closing! I can't believe it. It's been there for many years. This is sad news. I don't think Towson has to worry too much. They seem to sell out of everything so quickly. It's scary to hear of other store's at the Galleria being closed too.
ReplyDeleteI would cry if Towson closed too! I don't want to run to Columbia when Towson is so much more convenient. I used to go out of state as it is for JC.
Support your local businesses!
Beachwood, OH... no additional % off. They had tons of stuff though.
ReplyDeleteI got the fresco mini for $29.99. They had the same stuff other are reporting... saturday pants, twisted trench, etc.
They had one large thompson tote in gold. I think someone was looking for this.
I am going back today because my mom sent me her red card and I want to buy more, so if there's anything specific anyone's looking for be sure to mention it and I will look.
Loving the new painter tees that have ruffles at the neck and a placket.
Just got back from the Cambridge store... they had the Metallic totes there both large and small.
ReplyDeleteCropped Chinos only $19.99!!!
Bunch of Headbands with flowers...
Lots of Michelle Merinos in different colors
I can't remember everything too well but their sale section is worth a shot.
Also, if you're look for a colorblock necklace they have 1 in their case.

ReplyDeleteIf anyone is looking for a light pewter gateau skirt in size 6, the Montgomery store (Bethesda, MD)has about 10. Seriously - up front and back in the sale section. I was trying to find an 8 for comparison, but I kept running into all these 6's!! Also quite a stash of Merino Michelle's.
ReplyDeletewent to the store here and tried to return and re-buy a cardigan that's now on sale plus use my 25% off card, was told i couldn't, and that it was against company policy to do so. i just returned it. i don't want a sweater at full price when i know it was $30 less plus 30% off online. @@ so i went across the street and used the money at anthropologie instead. :)
ReplyDeletei did exchange a pair of socks i bought as a "ride along" for free shipping that i didn't have anything that matched for two other pairs on sale.
Lynzeeroo- thanks for the tip! I hate driving to LA though, but the card is burning a hole in my wallet, lol.
ReplyDeleteSlas- I'm with you! I only have one JC store here in SD, I hope it remains here!
Lynzeeroo: You are overreacting, chill a little bit. There was no harm intended with that comment you just took it that way.
ReplyDeleteLynzeeroo-we only have one J Crew in Tampa at the International Plaza near the airport. The SAs are all helpful. Thank goodness for the I mall.
ReplyDelete1madscientist: re rude staff at Rock center store
ReplyDeleteI agree. They used to be better but I've noticed service deteriorated recently. They give you a hard time even for exchanges, sometimes not even wrap up with tissue paper unless asked.
Columbus Circle is a hit or miss - some SAs don't even acknowledge you when you walk straight towards them, let alone helping with finding sizes.
For the NY'ers out there: I've found the SA's at the 5th ave/17st store to be the friendliest and most helpful...at least upstairs in the men's dept.
ReplyDeleteThe Short Hills, NJ also has some great people working there, though I have come across 1 or 2 SAs with a bit of a tude. Robert, in men's, always comes over to shake my hand and chat for a few mins.
I agree...Jcrewaholics.com is a dirty little site. The owner of that blog has some serious ethical/mental issues. Someone with a keen eye caught her taking pictures of an item and then posting the same picture with a watermark "rapunzel1921". I see she changed her ebay id to a different one, is this another way to dupe her readers?
ReplyDeleteI also remember her asking her loyal readers to "find and locate" certain jewelry pieces. Once she found them, she thanked them and then ebayed them for something outrageous. I don't know how she sleeps at night, perhaps on 1000 sheets that she'll probably sell next week, NWOT.
CECE of GA:
ReplyDeleteThat tote you're looking for is also at the Stonestown location in San Francisco. Just saw it!
FYI:
ReplyDeletePetites, if you see some pants in your retail store that are on sale and you want them you can order them on the red phone and get the SAME price.
I bought the cropped chinos online during the promo and just saw that in store that they are only $19.99 now! But since I was a petite the store rep wouldn't let me get a price adjustment. I called the store back once I got home and spoke with the manager and she let me know that I SHOULD HAVE gotten the adjustment and YOU CAN get the sale price for petite pants. So now I just need to go back into the store and say ___ the manager said to let me have the adjustment!
It's only $7 back in my pocket but $7 is a lot!
natick collection has a giant jar full of the tri-band metallic headbands for 14.99. bought one in the rose gold a while back and have been searching for other colors...they're perfect for making an icky hair day look not-so-icky.
ReplyDeletealso picked up a super cute lightweight scarf, black with metallic silver for 19.99.
I am sure all the Anon are not trolls. Assume and you make a ass out of yourself everytime. LOL
ReplyDeleteI asked Slastena a question. She answered it. I am glad she elborated and now I understand why she was so emotional.
It seems a few of you have issues. Don't reflect your nasty attitude and hostility onto others.
Just came back from jcrew Pasadena. Was able to grab two boyfriend cashmere cardigans, a garland blouse in the light beige color, and a cotton dress - all for under $220 with the red card discount. Certainly very happy with my purchase today.
ReplyDeleteWent to Southlake, Texas bought the following:
ReplyDeleteWaterfall cardigan: snow, light pewter
Cashmere bouquet cardigan: putty
Silk linen v neck sweater: shell, slate, and champagne
Tissue boyfriend tees: shell, dark slate, white, cream.
9:18--You misused "you're". In that sentence. You should have used "your". Now get to work on your grammar.
ReplyDeleteNo silly you have someone that types fast on her mini computer, crackberry and laptop at random in her free time. This is simple entertainment. LOL Your you're and plenty more typos and grammatical errorrrs will be here to piss you simple sallys off. LOL I'l do anyythign you say when your statr signing my checks. LOL
ReplyDeleteANON@6:39pm I just read your message, thanks so much! I will call them tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteJENNIFER: I tried to check the website but it was gone by the time I did. Thanks for keeping me in mind. =)
Hope I find the guava! Fingers crossed!!! lol
When people start complaining and getting nasty about typos and grammar they really do not have much of a life.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone considered the Anons have a valid point? The way some of the regular posters respond to the posts is just as mean spirited, talk about being two faced.
robert at the short hills store is great! i usually go to that store, and find that they have a lot of selection - sometimes stuff that is catalogue only, sometimes stuff i dont even see on the website. but i thought i'd give the nyc stores a shot, just for a change of pace :) plus its so much more fun to shop in new york
ReplyDeleteVisited the New Canaan, CT store this weekend and they have 4 gold Thompson metallic totes (the short one, not the long one) for $89.99. No additional store discounts, but you can use your red card. I remember some posters looking for metallic totes, so I hope this helps. Their number is 203 966 5127.
ReplyDeleteIt is really silly to engage in snarky behavior on a public blog. I guess some of us do not have real lives to enrich on a more personal basis. Keep the nasty attitudes and English instructions to yourselves. This is not a ESL class. It is a blog not real life nor a exclusive country club!
ReplyDeleteAnon 6:00am I noticed!
ReplyDeleteBad grammar isn't a typo - it's sad when people don't know the difference between "your" and "you're." There's nothing wrong with pointing it out - it doesn't speak to anything other than a good education. Proper grammar is always in good style - and isn't this a blog about style?
ReplyDeleteCECE of GA, as of yesterday afternoon there is still a large metallic thompson tote in guava at the philadelphia liberty place store: (215) 977-7335. $89.99 + red card discount
ReplyDeleteThere was also a beaded zebra shirt in XL if anyone's looking for that.
HTH!
If anyone sees Cotton V-neck Sweaters on sale (19.99) size XS in colors mint, navy, or melon please let me know, or email me

TIA!!

anon 208: my goodness! those ebay prices are outrageous!
ReplyDeleteLeigh is a conniving little freak in my opinion. I asked her once if her nwot was worn and she said NO! Can you believe that? Especially after she blogged that she had worn it out to dinner.
ReplyDeleteHer blog is so boring too!
There is a time and place for good grammar and spelling. This is a blog and who cares if people misspell words and make typos.
ReplyDeleteYes, I am a real life English teacher too....but who cares on a blog! Have fun and ignore the typos and errors. This is not a formal paper or letter by any means....
Ashley -- Thanks for the great tip on petite pants! I never knew that jcrew would price match for petites. thanks again!
ReplyDeleteI bought the lobster beaded tee and the gondry tee in cream( i dont see that on website) from jcrew this weekend. They both are CUTE. Especially the GONDRY tee, I love the fire works
ReplyDeleteI got the Gondry in cream last week when I did the personal shopper, and I love it, too! She told me it was inspired be the impressionist painters. Also, the PS experience was cool, and I got a handwritten note from her later this week thanking me for coming in and saying she'd keep an eye on a certain item for me. Quite a snazzy touch!
ReplyDeleteThats sweet Anon !
ReplyDeleteI could apply my student discount on top the 25% jcrew red card discount which was an awesome deal !
Desert Flower: I was at the Orland Park, IL J Crew yesterday. They had 2 of the natural color rosette t-shirts in size XS.
ReplyDeleteI just got back from the factory stores in Westbrook and Clinton, CT. They had the Trastavere print shorts in both the "retail" version and the "factory" version. I compared them side-by-side and there were alot of differences. I ended up getting the retail version. They were both $29.99 (I think). Just thought I'd share that!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, they had alot of nice shorts, and alot of yucky stuff. But it was worth the trip, although it was pretty crowded.
Anyone go to the Cambridge, MA store today?
ReplyDeleteKendra,
ReplyDeleteI went yesterday. I posted above what I remember seeing. Are you from the Boston area?
Anon at 8:02, I bought that same black scarf with silver the other day and they charged me $29.99. The stores need get it together with pricing.
ReplyDeleteFor all the Canadians reading, I saw a pretty close facsimile of the stone bead ribbon necklace by Joe Fresh for $22. It only comes in black, though.
ReplyDeleteOh, and Le Chateau had a version of the pearl cluster necklace for $19.
ReplyDeleteHi all - I somewhat agree about Rock Center store. I have never had great service there. However, I blame the traffic as much as anything else. The store is always so crazy that it would seem like an enormously dificult place to work. Not an excuse. Just something I have realized when shopping at all the NY stores.
ReplyDeleteJ Crew changed their policy regarding wrapping items in tissue before Christmas. They are now supposed to ask customers before doing so. My SA told me, as I am a longtime abstainer from wrapping things in tissue. Unless an item is delicate, it is so unncessary and wasteful. Sure, it is a money saving tactic, but it makes me happy nonetheless
I visited and bought several items with my 25% off card! :) I went to the St Paul, MN store. I was surprised by how few shoppers were in the store! I like it less crowded but still I want the store to do well so it stays open.
ReplyDeleteaww.....so sad about inner harbor, MD store. i, too loved pat. i always shopped there because it was convenient, but i will say that i have always received great service in the Columbia store...
ReplyDeleteCan I vent about the library shawl cardigan and the French Terry cardigan?
ReplyDeleteThey look fine on those ultra tall models but the proportions just don't work on more ordinary women.
I've seen lots of IRL pix and haven't seen a one that looks good. They are all tooooooo long. The Portlands and Michelles, on the other hand, are long, but good loooking.
I sure wish J. Crew would have a secret bunch of IRL models to test the designs on a few larger-breasted women and short people!!!
Anon 5:34, thanks for the tip on the rosette tee! I will call tomorrow morning. I hope one of them is still there.
ReplyDeleteI was looking at a necklace on ebay and saw that it will be shipped from hong kong. I wondered if Jcrew has a store in hong kong and typed 'jcrew hong kong' in google and found this interesting article about jcrew
ReplyDeletehttp://coopamerica.org/programs/responsibleshopper/company.cfm?id=244
Has anyone read about this before ??
ANON@12:55pm Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteI will give them a call tomorrow!!! I hope its still there!!! youre an angel!
To those of you who have helped me, hope you also get what you're searching =)
CECE
Anon 3:12 I totally agree! It is really sad people have nothing better to do with their time.
ReplyDeletePiggly Wiggly! LOL Oh my there are some country bumpkins in this place for sure.
ReplyDeleteI had a English college professor that was also on the board that set english standards that could not spell a lick. LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy: I read the info about JCrew on that website. There didn't seem to be anything shocking or any worse than any other large retailer has done or been accused of. I think that any reader of this blog who thinks that JCrew's clothes are made in anything other than sweatshops or near-sweatshop conditions are very naive. That's called capitalism and it's how the world works, unfortunately. Having said all of that, I still love and wear JCrew!
ReplyDeleteThere's my "soapbox" moment of the day! And I haven't even had my coffee yet...
Anon 8:02pm
ReplyDeleteI do recall occasionally being asked whether to wrap up but in the case of rainy weather, the cashier just throwing a linen jacket in the bag without wrapping it is not the customer service one would expect at a JC store.
If it's H&M where you pay a fraction of the cost, it's a different story altogether.
Besides, I for one don't see tissue-paper wrapping as a waste. It's rather dreadful, is it not, when we all have to come with WF style recycle bags to shop?
This is a long shot, but... if anybody sees a snow leopard cardigan (not the tartine one) in their local stores in a Small, please let me know @ mjr001@gmail.com. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI also read the same details about J.Crew and the sweatshop/pollution. In fact, I believe someone posted the article link here some time ago. Fact is, no matter how hard you may try to be ethical, and I don't know if they bend over backwards or what, when you are sourcing goods from half a world away you can't always control how things get done. We've all heard about melamine in pet food and then baby formula. Those corporations sourcing the product in the U.S. are not likely in on the fraud, they are victims of it too as it affects their bottom line losing consumer confidence and they could also face legal liability.
ReplyDeleteIt's true that other retailers have suffered the same deception and I believe most American retailers would try to get the lowest-priced, quality items possible. It's a competitive world we live in and PR is so important too as new travels fast and ultimately lasts.
