Just thought I'd post an update for those of you who may be wondering about my Weekly Exchange transaction where it seemed the seller was ignoring me after receiving payment.
ReplyDeleteThe seller emailed me back last week and explained that she had to go out of town suddenly because her mother was ill. She said that she would be back home this week and would ship my item when she got back.
I'm not exactly confident that will happen, but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt for one more week.

ReplyDeleteIf you paid via paypal, you can go to resolution center in your account and file a paypal dispute saying that the item hasnt been received.
Paypal will take out the amount you paid from the sellers paypal or bank account and place it on hold till they provide paypal with a tracking number or paypal will refund your money. The hold on the funds will clear only after the the tracking number shows that the item has been delivered at your address.
I had the same problem with another JCA and she shipped my item atlast.(I hope its not the same seller we both are dealing with)

Anon 11:26, my transaction was $25 and I doubt the police or my bank are going to have much interest in pursuing it. I'm not sure I do! I would still really like the item I thought I was purchasing, the hammered silk tank in yellow, unfortunately this seller is no longer answering my emails. I haven't seen her posting in quite a while, I assume she made a few bucks and moved on. I'm truly hoping there is a reason and she has a family problem or illness that prevents her from communicating but I think I have to face that I've been scammed. I've lived and learned. I'm definitely not doing anything unless it's through Paypal in the future since at least then I have some recourse.

I shouldn't be looking for anything right now, not after a big purchase after the site updated this morning, but I just wanted to say thanks to Alexis and ask: Not to turn your blog into a forum, but would it be useful to have a post maybe once a month where people could discuss fit issues with specific items? I've been trying to research the sizing and cut of the items I've been considering, keeping in mind how variable J. Crew sizing can be, but don't want to litter posts with off-topic questions about items that haven't been reviewed. So a post just on this topic could be really helpful (especially because a search on posts doesn't always seem to call up items in comments).

Well, I guess it's time to name the individual who has my money but hasn't sent me an item. I believe she posted as an anonymous, her name is Michelle Wypack. It looks like I'm not the only person here to send her money and not receive the item after many weeks. As I mentioned before, she said she didn't have Paypal so I mailed her a check. It has been cashed. I'm only out $25, fortunately.

Yes - I agree, there are many wonderful and honest JCA's on this site. Since, you sent the check and money orders by mail it is mail fraud.

To me there appears to be a pattern since two JCA's are being ripped off - there might be more people that this person has scammed.

A longshot from several months ago, but any hammered-silk tanks or Amelia tanks out there in an ivory or similar light neutral color, 6 or P8?
ReplyDeleteAlso, if anyone has a Thermore/Thinsulate peacoat (PS or PM, black or gray) to get rid of, let me know! I just got one that I ordered final sale, but it turns out to have a small cut in the fabric in the front. :-( J. Crew would let me return it, but of course they don't have any more in stock to let me exchange it, so I'd still be in the hunt for a peacoat. Alternatively, they'd pay up to $50 for me to get it repaired, but I'm not sure I want to go to that trouble to have a coat with a patched/stitched spot, especially when I think it's a little big for me. I'm sad -- I love their peacoats and had finally decided to replace my much-loved, much-used one from ages ago, so I was thrilled to catch this one on sale for $99. Oh well.
TUMC, I love the peacoats too so I completely understand. Call your CS now or go online and type in 99729 in the search. It looks like there's a PS in black available. Good luck.

Hi, I thought I had this item yesterday on Spring Sale but it was gone before I had the chance to snag it! It was marked down to $24.99 and I was going to have an SA place the order with some other items and use my red card.
