J.Crew Wedding Trunk Show & More!

"Thanks!" to Jean (in this post) who alerted us to J.Crew's Wedding Trunk Show. Over at J.Crew's wedding page (click here), they let us know about the wedding trunk show "featuring styles from our 2009 collection".

The location for this event will be at the Rockefeller J.Crew store located in NYC. The dates for this event are April 25th & April 26th (from 9-11AM). If you are in the area and interested in attending, just RSVP by April 22nd, by sending an email to J.Crew's bridal expert Ashley, at ashley@jcrew.com.

J.Crew's wedding page (click here) also shares with us the good news that some of their wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses are now available to preview at select J.Crew locations. On the "Store Locator" page (click here), there is a new category in the key called "wedding collection preview". I think this is wonderful- both having the dresses available in select stores and also indicating which stores they are in. Now only if they could create one for which stores have shoes... ;)

Will you be attending J.Crew's Wedding Trunk Show? If so, please let us know! Also, if you could add a category under the "Store Locator" key, what would it be and why? (My vote is for shoes, so I can know which stores are carrying them). ;)

  1. The categories I would add under the "store locator" key are "friendly SAs", "really good sale section", "convenient parking" and "public bathroom inside". ;)

  2. That trunk show sounds like a nightmare. I can just imagine a few thousand "bridezillas" (both locals AND tourists) all squeezing into that already over-crowded store! It would make that annual bridal gown sale at Filene's basement look like a tea party. Yikes!

  3. I agree with you Alexis, definitely would be great to know where to find the most shoes, especially with some of the inconsistent sizing.

  4. This would have been nice when I was debating a J Crew wedding dress last summer. I went to 2 different NYC locations asking if they had any to try on, and if not, would they get them for to try on. The answer was NO. So I went elsewhere after buying two online and returning them, it was just too much time and hassle to go online. So good for them that they finally realize it's better to try on a bunch at one store than order/return, order/return!

  5. I think having bridesmaid dresses available at some J Crew locations will be VERY helpful. I have a friend who is getting married soon and she would have considered J Crew dresses more seriously if she could have seen a number of them in person before buying.

  6. If you are planning a wedding, you should definitely try to get to the bridal trunk show! I wore a J.Crew wedding dress for my own wedding (my dad had a j.crew suit, my mom a j.crew dress...) and I loved it. I felt so elegant and beautiful...but yet simple. I think if you are even considering the possibility of a J.Crew wedding dress, you should go see them in person! Gorg :)

  7. Wow, I think the trunk show sounds pretty amazing. I love several of J.Crew's wedding dresses. Hopefully they are organized enough about it to do something appointment-style, otherwise ITA with Anon that it could be bridezilla extravaganza.

  8. Since you have to RSVP for the event, I imagine it is organized and limited to a certain number of people. I love trunk shows in general, a J.Crew bridal trunk show would be awesome.

  9. I wish J Crew had made wedding dresses back when I got married!!

While I do admire Anon@7:38's list, I am right on board with the "shoes" category!

  10. I was married in J.Crew's ivory tulle cascade skirt and a pale pink silk cami with hand-beading. We traveled to Bali and China for our wedding and honeymoon so I wasn't going to haul a delicate gown around Asia, just to wear for a few hours. I wore the pieces again separately on our honeymoon and since we returned. The skirt is a beautiful piece. I satisfied my romantic and practical sides with that outfit. J.Crew's wedding dresses are a lovely choice though, if you're getting married close to home.

  12. I don't know about my dress, but when I get married, I'm seriously considering J.Crew for my bridesmaids!

  13. I think the trunks how is a terrific idea, however I already got married! I might have picked a J.Crew dress if I had been able to try them all on in store.

OT, I was at Garden State Plaza in NJ store this weekend, and they get shipments in advance - they had a full summer rollout and it was amazing! Way more excited about it than anything they had for spring. Brighter colors and cute jewelry! I got a new scoopneck beaded tee and white jeans with my red card. So excited for the rest of summer now!

  14. I wonder if there will be any junk in the trunk...

  15. I would never consider ordering a wedding dress online. Too much hassle if a return is needed.

  16. Great. Rock, Michigan Ave and the Grove...no where near me.

  17. Not a huge fan of their wedding dresses - a litte too plain for me...though it's nice that they are featuring them in the store. Maybe they look better on than in the catalog.

  18. I went to the trunk show a few weekends ago in DC. It was awesome. I went on the Sunday. It started at 8am, but we got there around 9:30. It was really relaxed, nothing frantic like people might have imagined. I got to try on all the dresses I wanted to. Even some of the bridsmaid dresses for sizing. They had their entire collection of gowns & dresses. All dresses were size 8. We had to RSVP before the event, but didn't even check our names at the door. I ended up ordering the Erica Gown. I recieved it in the mail at my house (free shipping) in 2 days!!

Its a beautiful dress. It was perfectly wrapped and preserved, came with a silk hanger and hanging bag. The box is flat so it can be stored in the future under our bed.
