A big "thanks!" to so many of you, including Shirls, Jbird, Marietta, Heather:D, Anon at 10:22 AM (in this post), & FREESHIP on $150 (in this post), who let us know about J.Crew's latest promotion.
J.Crew is offering free shipping on orders of $150+ with promo code FREESHIP. This offer expires 4/15/09.

ReplyDeleteNice to see they are lowering the minimum to use the code. $195 was a bit ridic IMO.
ReplyDeleteHaven't bought anything since x-mas, but I got suckered in by the $100 min. on the CREWCUTS code. See JCREW, offer a lower minimum and you drag people back in.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing I want enough to pull the trigger, even if there were FS with no minimum. A few things in my cart, but when I go to look at them it's must, meh.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had 150 dollars to spend on clothes right now, I would totally take them up on the free shipping :(
ReplyDeleteNot bad to see a couple of free shipping codes but 20% off would help me a lot more. I only have 4 things but yikes it adds up to almost $500. Damn me and my expensive tastes. :P
ReplyDeleteOT - has anyone purchased the Milla tank? Can you tell me if it is TTS or roomy at all?
ReplyDeleteI'm usually between sizes and since there are no sleeves I could possibly SD for a trimmer fit in the body and not worry about the shoulders being too narrow.
TIA
yay for a new code!
ReplyDeleteFor anyone who is thinking about getting the Silk Georgette Pleated Tank, here is my review. It's a tank for someone with a long torso. I'm 5'3" and it's so low cut that the exposure is indecent. The top is also a lot longer than other tops of similar size by J.Crew. I wore a size 0P in the Joelle camis last season, and they fit a lot better than the Silk Georgette Pleated Tank in a regular 0. So, my advise to you all is to size down because it is cut a lot larger than you would expect. Otherwise, it's a very nice top. I just need to see if I can get mine altered to take up the straps or else I will have to return it :(
It is very rare that there isn't some kind of Jcrew Free Shipping Code. I am hoping they send out real promos soon like 20% off coupon. It's not like I'm ordering a cabinet or a large piece of furniture to make the Free Shipping really worth it IMHO.
ReplyDeleteWhen I got this email, I laughed to myself because I read it as "Shipping is on the house! .......... if you spend $150." It's better than a $195 minimum, but I don't have $150 worth of must-have-this just yet. (although I do have who knows how much of "really wish I could afford this!")
ReplyDeleteAnon @ 5:43 p.m.--I suggest that you SD in the Milla Tank. I am also between sizes. I SD in the Milla and am really happy with the fit.
ReplyDelete$150,$195, seriously people ... this is so NOT competitive with other online retailers that it continues to be an insulting policy.
ReplyDeleteThe red card was much more motivating to me, personally.
Not competitive how Anon @ 8:25?
ReplyDelete-BR = Free shipping for Luxe cardholders, $100 min. for reg. cardholders and nothing for non-cardholders currently.
-Anthropologie rarely offers shipping free for any reason
-Gap = Gapcard members only $100+ spend (and if J.Crew quality is an issue for you, I certainly don't advise buying from Gap)
-Nordstroms = free shipping with shoe purchase only.
I am just confused at where you are getting these way more competitive deals? I don't see them.
hi all! I wasn't sure where to put this, but I would love some fit advice on the following items:
ReplyDelete- cotton cadeau cardigan, 12439
- cashmere bauble button henley 12526
are they running big as usual, or are they more tts?
TIA!!!
Anon 9:06, I feel you sister (or brother, as the case may be!) Anthro is a complete gyp on promos, some years it's a black friday only type deal. They are way- WAY worse than JC as far as that goes. I think the Gap brands seemed to offer more percentage off plus free ship promos, but that reputation is slowly going away as the time goes on. They seem to be trying to get more off of the website than they used to as far as not having more than one or two promos that apply at once and don't seem to add up as much for the consumer. But if you're like me, and don't mind the ride alongs and the hassle of sending back/ checking CC statements, Gap brands still offer decent deals.
ReplyDeleteJC seems to consistently offer something in the way of a promo like 95% of the time, even if it seems to be an egg on to shop, like setting high amounts for free ship. If they did HOHOHOs and JINGLEs all year, we'd all be alot happier, but it seems like that is when so much of the "inventory moving" talk began. Followed so closely by the TJX/ Marshall's offload, the good promos on not so great, or at the very least not consistently great, product seemed to stir up rumors. We have all seen in print that they're trying to lure back full price shoppers, and are using different tricks to retain us, but I wonder if that is really possible?
There are absolutely deals to be had almost everywhere, but we have to be pickier, and be mindful of where and when we spend. Alot of people talk of boycotts, or only buying at certain times, and it seems like if enough people did it, it could have an impact. Something has to, since all of these companies are in business to have successful businesses, not to cater to what we say we want- especially if we don't in some way demand it.
Anyone have any advice on the Havona Tank? It looks like it runs big. I have been waiting to purchase and am getting nervous that it will sell out in my size.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Twiga
Twiga,
ReplyDeleteJust call CS and get the measurements. Different body types wear different sizes...hard to compare for fit.
Land's End:
ReplyDeleteOffers Free shipping every day if you sign up for their email updates.
THERE IS NO MINIMUM
LLBean: Also has free shipping no minimum if you have their Credit card and their rewards coupons come often!
Free shipping on $150 is not competitive. There are MANY companies with much better deals right now!
ReplyDeleteIf you are a savvy internet shopper, the deals are there for the taking...lots of free shipping no minimums as others have stated....plus extra %'s off.
JCrew will not let you use free shipping and student/educator discount OR free shipping and extra % off sales when other stores allow two codes to be used.
Has anyone tried the silk ripple top (item 12638), and if so, how is the fit? I have been eyeing the tawny olive color. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteI just wanted to mention that Nordstroms does offer free shipping for their card holders. It's very unfor that J Crew won't even do this.
Also no matter how big/small, sale/no-sale your order is in-store if they can't find it for you and have to call another store free shipping as well. Something J Crew also lacks.
Nordstroms by far out ranks J Crew by a long shot in customer service. J Crew should really be taking some notes.

ReplyDeleteAshley,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for directing me to your review! I will definitely be passing on that top and saving my money for something better.
Thanks again!
Yes, that top is baaaad news.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the Silk Ripple Top (#12638) is supposed to be a blouse. It is listed as a Cover-Up in the Swim Shop.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of a cover up made of silk =]
ReplyDeleteAnon @ 8:25. Not everyone got the Mickey card. I didn't. So I have to make do with what I do have access too. I like Free Shipping (like the $100 crewcuts one recently). That way I can see what it is like at home, and if I return it I am not out anything. I do not live super close to a B&M so I cannot go all the time to try stuff on, see what is new. Another example, the shorts I want are catalog only, so I have to order those.
ReplyDeleteI do agree that the Red Card is an awesome promotion. I wish had gotten one, but I didn't, oh well.
This has been extended:)
