DeleteLink!
I am really into some of the coats - especially the new one in the dublin green colorway, it's gorgeous! As far as everything else - anything I like I already own the retail version. Oh well, my wallet thanks me. :)
I have two online codes for 20% off of $125+ at Factory that I will not be using. Expire Oct 31st. Email sibleyelizabeth@hotmail.com.
ReplyDeleteJust sent you an email. :) That would be great for that coat I mentioned!
DeleteBoth codes are gone!
DeleteI am super curious about that last one pictured -- the ruffle collar dress coat. May have to run down to the factory store tomorrow to see in person! An hour away, but I have no idea what that coat looks like on a real person.
ReplyDeleteI like several of the flannel shirts and pjs. Has anyone seen the factory flannel items in person? I'd really appreciate any thoughts on quality, fit, etc. TIA! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa! I own the flannel shirt in the grey/mustard colorway. It's very soft but on the thin side which I don't mind because I plan on layering it. I am a standard 8 in tops & the medium fit fine - shoulder seams slightly off but not to the point where it was an issue. I know Gigi reviewed the same shirt on her site. There's also a pic of me in it over in my IG feed from a few weeks ago after I received it in the mail to try it on. HTH!
DeleteThank you Taylor! The shirt looks so good on you! I was contemplating the hthr grey/red combo, but now I really like the mustard/grey combo you bought, too.
DeleteMelissa,i saw last years flannel pj pants and they were nice.
DeleteI tried their flannel pjs a few years ago and was not a fan, but I didn't like the retail flannel pjs either. They all wrinkled up after wash/dry and just didn't look nice after the first wash.
DeleteTry Boden's pj bottoms, they wash up and hold up very nicely. If you're tall, you may not like Boden's as well, but I'm 5'4" and they're perfect length for me. They aren't as flannel-y as J. Crew's flannel, but they are almost flannel. They're a nice weight for winter (I don't wear these in the summer, a bit too heavy).
Thank you ina and cate! :)
DeleteMelissa - If you are looking for flannel shirts, you may want to take a look at Uniqlo. I bought one a few weeks ago on promo for 19.90 (they are running the same promo currently) and am very pleased with it. The material is very soft and about as thick as my grey check flannel shirt from 2012 JC retail, if not slightly thicker. It fits TTS, but fitted like a Perfect Shirt. What impressed me the most though is that it's completely finished on the inside with French seams - even my JC retail flannel simply has served seams. Like Boden, Uniqlo provides measurements for the actual garment on their website under the Fit Guide on the product page, so although I hadn't ordered from them before, I was able to get the right size on my first try. Hope that helps!
DeleteThank you Paula! That is really a fantastic price, and I love that they are completely finished on the inside. I will definitely take a look at them. :)
DeleteI am so sick of the cheap knock offs at Factory. I haven't shopped there in almost a year. Also, the website looks horrible. Why can't they picture the items on models like the J Crew website? That might help! I just wish they would come up with different stuff for the factory store. If I do go in, I just look around and say that's cute, but I already have it from last year or the quality looks so bad.
ReplyDeleteModels and REVIEWS.
DeleteHas anyone seen the excursion vest in the bohemian red color? Is it really red or more coral-ish? Thank you! (I really want the herringbone on sale...)
ReplyDeleteElizabeth Wei - bohemian red has traditionally been an oranged based color at J. Crew. IThe vest is likely more coral than red. I reviewed a cotton pencil skirt in that color in this post.
DeleteThe puffer vest on sale, I thought my good eye deceived me. I'm glad I waited to buy it.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone comment on the fabric of the city coat? I am guessing it's no where near as warm as the retail stadium cloth cocoon, but just thought I'd see if anyone has any thoughts.
ReplyDeleteI have it - it's quite thin. It's definitely a fall/spring coat for where I live (we get snow early here and it hangs around until April). We spend Christmas in the pacific north west and I plan on bringing it with me then. If you have a mild winter, I think it would be fine.
DeleteThanks injanuity. I am definitely looking for something warmer. I am always freezing, so I am thinking this coat isn't for me.
DeleteI ordered the plaid heels - they're backordered until the end of the month though. Other than that, nothing I needed to have immediately and holy cow on the last year repeats, several of which I already have.
ReplyDeleteThe Ruffle Collar Dress Coat reminds me so much of the Bella Jacket/Coat/Sybil Coat it *almost* makes me wonder if the powers that be are actually listening to those of us that yearn for old school J. Crew? Hmmm?
ReplyDeleteIt is probably most like the Sybil, but that one was a lot like the Bella, so there you go. Sybil coat in yellow--still my hands down favorite coat ever made.
I agree. Would like to see it back in retail quality. Don't like factory version of outerwear fabric--significantly cheaper looking.
DeleteAgree also. I have two factory coats from many years back; the fabric and style were almost identical to retail back then. Now, not so much.
DeleteI have a Stadium Cloth Elements coat from retail and one from Factory (different colors) and can't tell any difference between them. That was a few years ago. Last year I tried the Factory version of the Cocoon coat and noticed a difference between that and the retail version. I think they have downgraded the outerwear fabric at Factory.
DeletePSA: for those of you who bit on the new arrivals yesterday, make sure to check today's prices! I noticed that the items I bought are priced lower today, so I used live chat earlier to get a price adjustment. (Sorry about the double post; I already posted in today's thread but thought I'd also post here in case anyone missed it.)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up! So what is the point of Factory First then? Since the prices consistently drop the next day? Grrrr...
DeleteThe pricing games are pretty frustrating. The only time Factory First was actually useful was when I got the herringbone vest at a discount on the first day. After that it was backordered and then went back up to full price.
DeleteAnyone have a 20% Factory coupon code? I would love one. gigiofca@gmail.
ReplyDeleteI got hooked up with a Factory coupon from a JCA. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteAnyone has an extra 20% Factory coupon code? thank you in advance!!! omona.soheechul@gmail.com
