Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Visited my B&M yesterday, SA told me that 25% off on everything in store was going on, didn't say when it would end. Lots of puffers, toothpicks and turtlenecks in store, sale section was also large. Very few sweatshirts/pants displayed except for the gray floral that just came with this roll out. Displays looked more classic with nicely styled pieces which was good to see. Also over 2300 items in sale section this morning.

    1. Any JCA know whether the store stacks the 25% off with other promotions (I got a 20%off coupon from a recent order or 15% student/educator discount)?

In the past, I had experience that they refuse to take additional discount if there is a universal sale promotion

    2. Elaine, I asked my SA yesterday and she said no stack with the universal promo. I didn't ask about the student/teacher discount stack (I have one of those $20 off promo codes for trying JC, which just confounds me).

    3. Elaine,

I was able to student/educator stack. Didn't try a global promo.

      Hope this helps!

  2. I'm not sure, but I think some stores might be offering 40 percent off sale this weekend. My VPS just placed an order for me and applied 40 percent off sale instead of the 30 percent that is advertised online, so maybe some stores are differing from the online norm?

    1. I went yesterday, and my local store had 40% off sale. The sale section was decently large, but I didn't see anything worth mentioning.

    2. thanks for the head's up! my VPS did just confirm the 40 percent off. I've been eyeing the COLORBLOCK STRIPE DRESS and MIXED RESIN MEDALLION NECKLACE; maybe I'll finally pick those up.

  3. wanted to checkout the factory store, anyone has any feedback if worth the 1.5 hour drive? I saw a few promos in emails but not sure if worth a stop?

  4. returns.

i bought the DIAMOND DOT TIGHTS (item b1397) and there was a giant snag in them. they're cute tights, but beware and look them over carefully before buying them. and buy them on sale. i have a feeling they might not last a whole season. :/

  5. Just got back from the J.Crew store in Bethesda at Montgomery Mall. Large sale section. Some new markdowns included the pleated lattice skirt in navy and pink, the stitched sunburst skirt in black and white, the zip pocket mini skirt in chartreuse, and the pinstripe excursion vest. The store was also offering 40% off sale and 25% off the entire store. This store was letting people stack the student educator discount with sale items, but not the full price items, unlike the Pentagon City store, which let me stack my student/educator discount with the 25% off promo yesterday. Hope this helps someone!

    1. Marielarue7 -- Do you know how much the zip pocket mini skirt and the pinstripe vest for the new markdown are? I wonder whether my local store is having new markdown for them too?

    2. Thanks, I did the same! Now do you know how to get the best factory price? All I could do was 30% they wouldn't let me stack student I actually didn't even ask. Maybe I should call back and try

    3. The factory store by me has never let me use the teacher/student discount on anything that wasn't full price. Which pretty much makes the teacher discount worthless there.

    4. I was told the student/teacher discount stacks on the sale price, but not on the full price promo! HTH

    5. Elaine,

I can't remember the exact price of the zip pocket mini, but most of the skirts seemed to be around 69.99 -79.99 without the 40%. The vest was definitely 99.99 before the 40% discount.

    6. Shopaholic,

The factory stores around DC always let me stack unless they are running a non-tiered store-wide promo (i.e. 50% off the entire store). I always ask though, so it might be worth the call. I am always there in person though, so they may not let you do it via phone. Good luck!

    7. Marielarue7 -- thank you so much for letting us know the new markdown. I went to the store and got both of them :-) The pinstripe excursion vest being in $50-60 range is much more reasonable than the factory quilted version which is excluded from promotion.

      Have a great weekend

  6. Are B&M stores combining the 40% of sale with the 25% off entire store?

    1. Michele3873,

I don't think so, but they will do the educator discount on top of the 40%. Not the store-wide 25% for full price merchandise though.

    1. I love the navy vest with the brilliant sea flannel Ina! I tried the navy pinstripe vest with it today in the dressing room and that worked too, although I think I like your combination better!

  10. I have the $25 off $100 coupon still to use. Can I apply it with the in store 25% off?

    1. My VPS said no, but maybe if you buy only sale you might be able to. In general if there is a global promo, no stacking.

  11. Just received the new catalog for JCrew and Banana Republic featuring the Marissa Webb collection. All the garments in both catalogs look all the same. Everything is black, white and grey. Didn't see ONE thing I want to even go try on. I did buy the Madewell Outbound Jacket when my size popped back up. Really like it!

    2. Stray Cat - congrats on getting the Madewell Outbound Jacket! I absolutely love mine, and wear it constantly when the weather is cooler. I'm sure you will reach for it continuously this season. :)

    3. Thanks Melissa! I stalked it for about a month and finally snagged it! I like it because it's almost a heavy shirt.....not really a coat. Great for fall!

  12. I will not be able to go, but I did share what's in my shopping bag at Madewell on my blog yesterday, as well as several of my other picks here.

  13. Was in the Cherry Creek, CO mall running an errand and stopped by j Crew and Madewell. Scored the California Poppy Dress (A8245) for $77. This is a beautiful dress, must have been an online return since there was no original price. The print, the design, the material-silk and best part, pockets made me remember why I love J Crew. I guess if I buy one item at a great price every once in a while it will jog my memory.

  14. Does anyone know what the promos are like at the Factory store this weekend? Debating if I should go or not today.

I stopped into the retail store yesterday and sale section was additional 40%. Nothing really stood out, but the lots of pinstripe vests on sale.

I tried on the zip pocket mini, which I've been eyeing. Tts to a tad big, and super comfortable. On the fence...was hoping this had a bit more structure like past wool skirts from years ago, but pluses, looks to not wrinkle and not gather too much lint (compared with the factory shirttail mini I'm eyeing too).

    1. And the zip pocket mini in all colors was full price at my store still. Guess some of these are marked down elsewhere?

    2. It is marked down to $69.99 in my store in chartreuse, but not the black color.

  15. Has anyone seen the pleated lattice skirt in hidden floral in a store recently? I've been looking for a size 4 to pop back online with no luck. Thanks!

  16. Has anyone found the Factory leather ponte dress in size 8? I have a 6, but it's too small
