  1. I was up early and I ploughed through the women's and crewcuts sale sections for about half an hour. I tried - I really did - but not a single item seemed like a must have. Yikes.

  2. Agree. Usually when a batch of new items get marked down one or two things on my wishlist get marked down and then I throw something else in for free shipping. There is one dress I want that is 50% off but it is white and linen and the ship has sailed on that one. Sitting this one out too.

  3. Looks like most of us are not interested in all of the final sale rejects. Like the other commenters, I looked briefly through the sale section but thought, nah. I'll just get stuck with another item I can't return and won't wear. So much of the stuff has been sitting in sale since last holiday season. I just don't understand why J Crew doesn't want to get rid of it all already!!!

  4. If J.Crew wants their merchandise to move, they need to get rid of final sale. I think there are some goodies that are worth trying out but only if you can return the duds.

  5. No love for petites or talls, apparently. The no. 2 pencil skirt in double-serge wool was marked down in several colors, but only in regular sizes. No way I'm going to pay $53 more for the same item just because I'm short.

    1. I know! In reality it's less fabric too. Makes no sense to me.

  6. I decided to try the schoolboy in graphite (like $138 after promo) since I've been needing a gray blazer. Also ordered 2 merino v neck cardigans-- at least none of it is FS.

  7. Danbury, CT had 30% off this weekend, but it was...boring. Went specifically to try on the quilted boyfriend fatigue jacket, but the sizing was off. XS was a little too snug, and the Small's sleeves were puffy. Anyone else run into this odd issue???

  8. I have a Madewell $25 off of a $100+ coupon code for an online order. Expires 9/28/14. I won't be using it. If anyone wants it, please email me at elizabethsibsmith@gmail.com. I'll post when it is gone.

    1. Hi Firefighter Wife - did your MW code come in an e-mail? Just wondering if I should go through my spam. ; )

    2. No, I received it in a Madewell catalog that came in the snail mail today. I have never requested a catalog and I probably have not ordered from Madewell in over a year. Guess they miss me! ;)

    3. Thanks for sharing, Mel. I think there are a few interesting pieces. The whole thing has a very different vibe. Lots of white, blue and yellow. If J Crew is trying something new, I'm not really against it. I think they need to (they have a tendency to get stuck in a style rut). But it's too early for me to think about spring, and I don't know if these clothes will appeal to me in 6 months. But above all, I wonder if the quality will finally improve?

    4. Thanks for the link Mel. I love all the blue, especially the denim pieces. While I do not really care for many of the looks overall, there are a lot of individual pieces that I'll be interested in seeing.

  10. Can anyone comment on the Downtown Field Jacket (shown in Alexis's original post)? It is very tempting!

Thanks for the info on the MW code, btw!

    2. I love mine!! I have it in the mossy brown color. It's not lined, but I still love it as an early fall jacket.

    3. Thanks for the link love, silver_lining!

Firefighter's Wife - The downtown field layers very well w/the exursion vest, fyi. I wear both together thru the cooler weather. It's a great combo when you need to add/remove layers thruout the day.

    4. I have the downtown field jacket in mossy brown & navy. It is a chic jacket and goes well with a lot of items in my closet. Like Gigi said, it layers well with the excursion vest. The navy looks great with shorts for cooler summer days. For reference, I take a 2 in JC Schoolboys and XS in the field jacket and I can still wear a cashmere sweater (12 gauge) or excursion vest underneath.

  11. I really wish they would have continued to offer the free shipping on all orders like they had yesterday. There is one shirt that I would like to get but I really do not want to pay for shipping...even if it is just $5. If they insist on continuing with final sale, they could at least ship the items to you for free.

  12. New Factory rollout! There was a time when I would track new releases from J. Crew like a hawk. Now, it seems every time I turn around there's something new. You can see the new factory items here.

  13. If anyone does plan on shopping the sale, there were a lot of new markdowns today and yesterday, as well as new promo-priced items. I've updated the J.Crew Promo-Priced Items & Markdowns list with the new additions. Included in the new markdowns are numerous cashmere sweaters, the utility vest, patio skirt in sunglass print, and camden calf hair sandals just to name a few. See the List Here.
