This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!
No. Not at all. Got an email from my VPS at the store that a new roll out will be in on Monday. Also got an email from my online VPS with a few pics of coats from the new roll out. So will be waiting for next week to see what's new, and perhaps some more mark downs? :D
ReplyDeleteCan you post the pics of the coats?
DeleteBe happy to post st! Please see them (actually the descriptions are for one coat, one blouse, and one sweater) on my blog here:

i love that pink hooded coat!
Deletethat might be trouble for the wallet.
I LOVE those looks, am really swooning over that first coat! If the new Oct style guide is going to be all like this, then I'm very excited :)
DeleteThanks for sharing your pics, Suzy!
Deletethe cambridge satchels are on promo and eligible for the current discount online...the gold one is tempting me.
ReplyDeletecan anyone comment on these purses?
I don't have the satchels but I do have a briefcase I purchased directly from Cambridge Satchel Co. and it's a workhorse. The leather is very thick, a bit stiff but that helps retain the shape & structure of the bag. Stitches are very even, with no breaks or loose threads, and the hardware is solid. No flaws in the finish or color. Assuming the bags they did for JC are the same quality, they'd be a good buy at the sale + promo price.
DeleteThanks cobalt!
DeleteI have the gold, and love it. Have it with me today; have used it regularly all summer. My review is on the site - I'm 'HB Pineapple.'
DeleteHave the mini in red and I love it . Mine has magnetic closures because I found the manual buckles quite bothersome. Just something to think about
DeleteStarting today through October 5th, take an extra 10% off your order at jcrew factory with code FALL, and an extra 15% off with code CARDPLUS
ReplyDeleteKeep on the lookout for a postcard from J Crew Factory that might come in the mail with an extra percentage off, I received one yesterday. Not sure why but I nearly threw it away when I didn't notice what it was.
ReplyDeleteTeriLynn13 - The FALL and CARDPLUS codes that mimi posted are what was on the Factory postcard.
DeleteNote....the Factory codes don't work on the puffer vests. I tried. lol So it probably excludes all outerwear. I don't have my postcard handy to confirm.
DeleteThanks! That's what happens when I don't read the fine print. I was amazed to just get one in the mail LOL!
DeleteMadewell - Click here to see Boston Liz Pom's monogrammed transporter tote.
ReplyDeleteFactory - I love the mustard grey flannel. Reviewed here, along w/in-store pricing info at the bottom of the post.
ReplyDelete...partying all by myself in this thread...lol
DeleteBe sure to check out Factory reviews by my fit twin, Audreybella. She has a good number of them.
Nope. I looked at the giant sale section and wasn't interested.
ReplyDeleteGot an October style guide yesterday. There are a few cute things. There is a floral print that is on several items that looks sort of cute. Can't remember the name but it is on a sweatshirt and a pair of pants and a sweater. I wasn't blown away but there was also a buffalo check shirt in cream and black that I really liked. The spring stuff looks dreadful but maybe the fall stuff will perk up as the fall season kicks in.
ReplyDeleteWhat ??? The Oct style guide....anyone able to scan....this would perk up a uneventful J Crew weekend. thanks in advance..
DeleteAfter the disasterous Sept issue....I am not holding my breathe. But to be an optimist....I would love a look as well....keeping my fingers across for high waisted trousers.
Deletehttp://www.maisonkmv.blogspot.com/
DeleteGo to this blog and you can see some of the mannequins that are already up in one of the stores in New Jersey.
Thank you for posting the pics! I feel like the store displays and mannequins are way more appealing than the style guides lately. Can't wait to see the new roll out.
DeleteAgreed! Loving the floral sweatshirt & mixed media sweater!
DeleteThanks for the link, Doodle! Nice styling...
DeleteHi JCAs,
ReplyDeleteFor the reasons mentioned in the review thread the Regent Blazer in Vintage Red did not work for me, but because it is backordered online I wanted to to let the JCAs know I'm going to return it to the Southcenter store in Tukwila WA this afternoon about 2:00, so maybe they will let you do a call-send. Size 4. (Sorry, due to recent burn on the JCAX I won't do a direct transaction.) HTH someone.
Hi..bummed out you got burned,,,
DeleteHi...Oct Style guide slowly loading on J Crew pinterest site. They are starting with mens....boo !
ReplyDeleteI hope they finish loading it today....so I can obsess over it during the weekend. That is if there is anything to obsess over, given their boring style guides.... Ha!
DeleteLook on the blog I posted above.
DeleteNice, thanks for posting the link! I am looking forward to seeing everything once the style guide loads on pinterest.
DeleteI don't know why they do it this way. JCAs have uploaded the catalog photos magnitudes faster than J. Crew does it. J. Crew has to be doing it slowly on purpose, can there be any other reason it takes so long every month?
DeleteWow. This seems really early for October Style Guide. I so hope it is better than September. All the stuff on J. Crew Factory is making me yearn for last year's fall stuff. I own a version of like every single new arrival on J. Crew Factory from last year. LOL. I picked up one measly t shirt so far.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan - it does seem quite early! But the "big" rollouts are usually on the second-to-last Wednesday of the month, so the 17th would be it.
DeleteI briefly went in today for the first time in a month. Sale section was stuffed - lots of denim, tees with words, random button-downs. Nothing caught my eye, except the window displays. I like the multicolored envelopes in their fall palette.
Yes, rollout is in stores starting Monday. This is what a kind SA informed me. She wasn't so kind when she refused my request of a catalog.
DeleteWhy on earth would an SA refuse to give you a catalog? How weird! I have seen such a range of SA's at J Crew - from amazing to terrible.
DeleteI'm looking forward to a big fall rollout. But I'll be sad if the offerings are more of the same. Offer me color! Offer me tailoring! Offer me cool prints! Offer me 2-3" heels! I'll buy - I promise!
The whole sweatpants vibe is killing me. And all the boxy frumpy tops. Can't a gal get her sexy on? LOL. I just feel like so many of the looks are not chic. I don't need to dress boyish. Note to J. Crew: I'm not a boy.
DeleteSusan...you don't want to look like Matt Damon? A young, Matt Damon?
DeleteHa ha. LMAO, gigi. I'm so over the androgynous thang. I don't care if looking fabulous is not fashion forward. It's what I want!!!! My first fall purchase was a fabulous Splendid cowl neck in deep red. I LOVE it. J. Crew is just not making me feel anything. Are we breaking up? And the coated jeans at Banana are phenom. OMG. I'm so off topic. Don't ban me, Alexis. Ha ha.
DeleteLOL at Gigi's Matt Damon comment!!!
DeleteSusan - The coated jeans at Loft are awesome. I'll have to see the ones at BR.
DeleteAlexis - Well, but the model does look like him in that shot... :)
Probably the wrong place to post this but... any thoughts on the Factory Gigi pant? I just asked this on my IG but thought I'd throw the question out here too. How do they run size-wise? What is the rise like? Are they skinny enough to tuck into boots? I have tried on the front zip but am looking for info re: the regular side-zip ones. I've never tried on the Pixies either. (I HATE that the closest retail store is 2 hours away! Same with Factory!)
ReplyDeleteI have two pair of the factory Gigi's. They are pretty much TTS. The rise is good. Not low but not too high either. Definitely skinny enough to tuck into boots--I wear mine with boots all the time--OTOH, they are long enough to wear with both heels and ballet flats. A nice, versatile pair of pants, those Gigi's are!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info!
DeleteTaylor - I agree w/Catherine on the Gigis. Mid-rise and not too short. They're a bit long on me (5'0"). I took my usual J. Crew size of 6.
DeleteHola chicas....I ordered the Collection Italian Wool Dress in navy sizes 00 regular and 00 petite. Lovely dresses but they don't work on my figure so I plan to return them this weekend. I paid $245 for each dress during the Labor Day promo. If any JCA wants them at the discounted, holler and we'll see if we can work something out.
ReplyDeleteI sent pics and a review to Gigi at her site (I don't have a blog and am pretty useless when it comes to that stuff). She'll post when she has time.
florapower9@gmail.com
unrelated, but does anyone know if Madewell is having an extra percent off sale items this weekend? Sometimes they do and don't publish on website.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I was in the store today and it's 30% off sale and different full-priced items being promo'd at 25-30%.
DeleteThey are on to the women's side of things on Pinterest. Maybe it will all be up tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteWhoo, hoo. It's nice to see the Guide going up more quickly.
DeleteMy paper version was very late last month. I hope that's not the case for October.
Mine was late too. And then I put it straight in the trash.
DeleteA few Oct images here.
ReplyDeletewell no bling...even the earings are called "minimalist"
DeleteA ''pull on " pinstripe skirt....with a sweat shirt. Not at my office...
Its soooo gray........a really boyish.
so far...that is alot of sweat pants. very boyish is right
Deleteyes so far drapey sweatpants pair with everything and anything. I am too old for this look. But it is cute for younger women.
DeleteWhat an amazing promo: 20% off everything, excluding new arrivals, limited editions (huh?), Collection...
ReplyDelete(shrugs)
Is it just me or did they end the EASYSALE promo early? I thought it was going on through September 14th.....Oh the retail games.
ReplyDeleteMel - EASYSALE is still showing on the sale page. And yes, it's supposed to be good thru 9/14.
DeleteThanks Gigi!! For me the 20% off promo has now disappeared completely from the site. Could totally be my cookie/browser issue.
Deleteit disappeared from my screen, too, and EASYSALE has returned. I think it was a JC glitch. I doubt my iPad could invent a promo and a whole list of exceptions with an end date of 9/24.
DeleteNow EASYSALE applies for 30% off "select" items (you can see this in the sidebar) - or was that always part of the promo? I haven't been paying attention. However, some of the things in my bag got the red "Excluded" stamp overnight, so maybe they're gearing up for that 20% promo.
Delete25% off everything with some exclusions for card members with onmycard
DeleteJust an FYI, try both promos on your items before checking out. I thought ONMYCARD would give me 30% off certain items but it only discounted 25%. I tried EASYSALE and then got 30%. Very annoying!!
DeleteI will probably be going this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI popped into the Factory store yesterday (Toronto Premium Outlets). There was a full complement of puffer vests, toothpick jeans at 50% off, and jewelry and accessories at 40% off. I was looking for the houndstooth sweaters, but they only had one XS in each colorway. They did have a lot of the houndstooth sweatshirts.
ReplyDeleteVery small sale section.
The sleeveless ruffle neck shirts were $29.99, and I picked up the herringbone one, very cute on with grey chinos.
Jewellery at the Halton/Toronto factory store is 50% off now. Lots of new arrivals all over the store. I was happy to also get the grey tee with leather sleeves at 60% off - good quality too.
DeleteFactory - reviews
ReplyDelete* Charley sweater in medallion (retail only, jeweled shell & warmspun colorblock zip sweater - all thumbsup, I believe
* Instarsia heart sweater, colorblock tee & warmspun waffle sweater in stripe - thumbsdown on the heart sweater, thumbsup on the other two
A few pics of the four square scarf, shiny puffer vest and the new maison des A.R.T.S. sweatshirt from madewell n my blog here.
ReplyDeleteI love that lighter color chambray shirt w/those jeans! (which btw I haven't stopped wearing since I bought them, lol). Now, I'm tempted to get that top too. Darnit, I don't neeeed another chambray shirt - why are they always just slightly different, so we need a new one!) Great outfit!!
DeleteI know what you mean, those chambray shirts are like candy. You just cant stop, lol.
DeleteI love the jeans so much, that i got the regular Millers too:)
Btw, have you tried the Keeper chambray in the dark rinse? Highly recommened!
Hi JCAs, I am looking to buy a few shirts in petite off the factory website. I've always bought regular sizes and just rolled the sleeves, but as I recall, sometimes regular sizes at factory don't work for me for the shirts because the overall length is too long. Could someone please comment on whether I should be sizing up from regular sizes to buy the factory petite? FWIW, I'm a pear shape. Thanks for your help.
ReplyDeleteI usually do size up one size (Regular M to Petite L) when purchasing P sizes with both Factory and Retail sizes.
DeleteThis has worked well for me thus far.
OT: Is it just me or is it irrelevant to feature the same Women in 'Girls We Know', wearing the same Bib Popover Shirt, the Stadium Cloth Hooded Coat, the Cashmere Camel sweater, or the Eastwood Jean. It was fine when they were featured on last month's style guide, but on October's style guide, again?
ReplyDeleteHow about featuring women in different sizes (tall, petite, size 2 to a size 8) wearing these shirts, coat, sweater and jeans? To me that makes a statement. All these women look like they're the same size. It doesn't do anything for me....
I do not want four pics of the above items mentioned either ....and give us more color and maybe throw in some femininity while your at it J Crew....
DeleteI'd love to see models in different sizes and shapes, too.
DeleteI read on JC's blog that Saada Ahmed is 5'2". It's really nice to see how the clothes look on a petite model. I hope JC does this more often.
That was a waste of catalog space. It's as if they are trying to promote these individuals rather than the clothes. It would be one thing if they showed all their offerings in the style guide, but they've already pared it down quite a bit in terms of showing the clothes. With this kind of feature, they show even less of what they're selling.
DeleteI just took a look at the October style guide on Pinterest, and have to say that the women's section looks incredibly boring so far. The men's section looks fantastic as usual though. I really do hope that there is more to the fall collection than what they're showing in the style guide, and that the next large rollout will bring some pretty fall items (ones that are wearable in everyday life) for us.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, there is a lot to love over at Madewell, IMO. I have close to $2000 worth of items in my shopping cart right now, and have shared many of the items I'm loving in this post and in this post. I'm hoping they'll offer another 40% off promotion again soon, and add some more markdowns to the sale section, too. :)
Wow I just noticed on the pinterest pics that the STADUIM CLOTH HOODED coat I liked has another lighter color on the back...? this just ruined my day
ReplyDeleteGilt City promo code shoppers, here are more Factory reviews. The flannel in acropolis blue, tweed-front sweater, dark rinse jeans, slim-stretch wool trousers and those $29.50 Frankie tuxedo chinos.
ReplyDeleteI went to do a return today. Sale stuff is take an extra 40% off. Got a good deal on the Merino Wool Leather-pocket tee plus another 15% off using my student discount. I obsessed over the sweater when it first came out but lost the love for it. Till I decided to try it on...and thought it looked cool. For $61 w/ % off and tax, can't beat that!!
ReplyDeleteIt's the same merino leather-pocket tunic as the one that came out last fall that sold out. This one is cut shorter and boxy.

ReplyDeleteFactory - A few reviews, incl the floral print buttondown that nets $20, in this post. The wool pencil in heather pine is in there & what I ordered from Altuzarra for Target.
ReplyDeleteI didn't go to J.Crew this weekend, because I was saving up for Altuzarra for Target. I shopped online and then went in store this morning to check out the clothes in person. In case anyone is interested, I reviewed some dresses from the collaboration on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI reviewed some more items from the Altuzarra for Target collaboration. This time I focused on tops and bottoms, including my favorite piece from the collection. See my Part II post here.
DeleteAny reviews of the wing tip oxfords in the burgundy color? They look so lovely and I can see them with all of my gray dresses and many other options. Just wondering on fit, quality, etc.
ReplyDeleteBecause the Gilt City promo codes expire tonite...more Factory reviews here :
