ReplyDeleteI was still able to use a 20% off full price merchandise code at Garnet Hill (Google "Garnet Hill promo" and click on the retailmenot link). The Cascading Knit Tank Dress is really cute, and I'm going to try the Scoop-neck Maxi Tank Dress (striped). The Eileen Fisher Viscose Jersey Scoop-Neck Dress is nearly a maxi and a nice length for a shorter girl who wants a maxi that doesn't drag on the ground. The Eileen Fisher Organic Cotton Ballet-Neck Dress in Blue Neptune is great too. The Boxy T-shirt dress is adorable in theory but they aren't kidding when they call it Boxy - it is literally a big rectangle. Going to try it in a size down and see if it's better. The colors/stripes are great.
ReplyDeleteTalbots has an extra 30% off sale stuff with code SALE30. Also, another 10% off "red card savings" was taken off automatically at checkout when I placed an order. I just have the little talbots card they scan to get points, not a credit card or anything. That promotion is not advertised on their site, I don't know what it's all about, but it is worth checking out.
ReplyDeleteI purchased this dress, which is right up my alley. Super flattering, nice heavy knit, gorgeous pattern, APPROPRIATE LENGTH (can't say that about more than 1 or 2 of J.Crew's current offerings). It came out to about $62.
I also bought this beautiful silk charmeuse top in the fun bright lime color. Talbots' silk charmeuse tops are amazing for the price. Can you tell I am ready for spring??
J.CrewJD - Thanks for sharing the Talbots code. I haven't purchased lately, but always look around there. Good deals, esp w/the code. This etched pencil skirt is like a skirt version of JC's short sleeve lace sweatshirt released last year. And the skirt is cotton.

DeleteYes, their vanity sizing is worse than J.Crew's. I bought a pleated, a-line skirt at Talbots in a size 4, and probably could have gone down to a 2. I need a 6 at J.Crew!
DeleteI will say that their pencil skirt sizing is comparable to J.Crew, though.

I've probably said this before but Bauble Bar has become somewhat of my mistress on the side for costume jewelry. It started with their blatant J.Crew knockoffs. Now I check reguarly for fun, trendy pieces that won't break the bank and that I won't feel bad about wearing only a handful of times.
