This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopped
by a J.Crew store this past weekend
to see what's available (if
anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals
{sigh!} in person, maybe you
might be willing to
share that with us in this post. In
particular, if you could share
with us a few of the noteworthy items
that are available, at what
prices, and potential sizes the
store is carrying (as well as the
store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also, please
let us know if your local store
was/ is carrying an additional
percent off sale. Thanks in
advance!!! :)

Additional 30% off sale, plus the 25% off above in my B&M store today.
ReplyDeleteI didn't pick anything up b/c I was looking for dresses, but the sale section was pretty large.
Local B&M had 30% off sale items. Scored the Spearmint Tweed Jacket (polyvore here) and a Tippi cardi.
ReplyDeleteReviews and pics of the sparkle tweed dress and an in-store only polka dot linen perfect shirt here.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember if I mentioned this recently, but suiting is only available in select stores & online. I heard a SA say it will mostly be available online only. I'm not sure when that transition happened.
ReplyDeleteI believe addtl 30% off has ended in-stores as of today, Mon. I ended up ordering the cashmere mixed-stitch sweater in flax and Martina patent wedges. I don't think the stock pic for dark flannel is accurate. Hopefully the color will be a happy surprise.
I received my Martina patent wedges last week - you're right the photo is not accurate. The color is closer to a medium grey and I think its quite pretty. It will compliment many spring shades nicely.
DeleteCaroline - Thanks so much for the Martina color info! I'm excited to receive mine.
DeleteI didn't actually make it to a store but I did purchase 2 things. The vintage cotton short sleeve pajamas in melon spice. I received them today and the color is really pretty but the the size I ordered is a little too small. The fabric is very soft. I called jcrew and had them send me the next size up.
ReplyDeleteI also did a charge-send for the Liberty schoolboy blazer. I managed to get it for $73 with tax (and free shipping)!
BTW, I just want to praise the Tysons Corner, VA store. I do a lot of charge-sends through them. They always seem to have what I am looking for and ship stuff to me for free!
I am going to try a smaller size in the Lillian wedges. I bought an 8, but I think I might need the 7.5. Customer Service is going to honor the discounted price at which I bought the first pair! Anyone who has tried these, what do you think, do they run a bit big? Or if you kept the bigger size, have they been okay? I don't like sizing down, I sometimes regret it, but in these I might need to.
ReplyDeleteCate, I'm going through the same thing. I just received my usual size in Jcrew shoes but they feel a little loose. The problem is that they feel ok around the ankle strap area but the footbed feels longish and a little loose. I'm worried about sizing down but also worried that I'll get blisters if they're a little loose and my foot slides around.
DeleteI think the style of having only one strip across the foot makes it harder to decide on how they will work out. I still don't know what to do.
Here is a review that Gigi did on her shoe blog: http://www.1060pairs.com/2013/03/j-crew-lillian-suede-low-wedges.html
Deletejan, that's exactly how it is with mine. The heel area is fine but the footbed is a bit long and it's making the toebox area feel slippy. If that toe strip is leather, I think it will stretch a bit. I even have room behind my ankle and heel. It will be a while because they are back-ordered, but I'm going to keep the size 8s in the box until I have the 7.5s to try.
DeleteLauren, thanks for the link, I will take a look!
@Lauren - Thanks for sharing my review link.
Delete:)
@Cate - Do your feet swell when the weather is warmer? I would consider that when deciding between the sizes. Maybe try them on after being on your feet for a good part of the day.
Hi Gigi, no they don't really swell. More than in winter, but still not much. Did you get your normal size in these? Thanks!
Deletecate - I decided not to purchase them, per the current weather. If they're around later when it's warmer, I may get them. I'm 7.5 and take 8 in most JC shoes. The JC shoes I take 7.5 in are the Ceces and some of the sandals like this one. I do think the Lillian runs at least 1/2 size large compared to how most J Crew shoes fit my feet. They tend to have a narrower toe box and my foot doesn't taper into the shape many of their shoes have.
DeleteI am almost positive someone else on JCA said they tried the Lillian wedges and they were running large.
ReplyDeleteCate, here is the review from Elizabeth on March 22nd and what she wrote: "Also tried on the Lillian wedges. Very cute but am I the only one where they ran huge? Like a whole size? I'm a 9 in JC, 9 1/2 in Vivs and needed an 8 in Lillian which were sold out. They're back ordered now and not sure if I care to bother that far out."
ReplyDeleteThanks Shekster (and Elizabeth!). Maybe I should have ordered a full size down instead of a half size.
