J.Crew sent an email reminding customers to take an additional 30% off all sale items (no min) with promo code SUNSHINE. This code expires April 7, 2013.
According to the email, over a 100+ new items made it to Sale. What am I {delightfully} surprised to see on sale already? The Elbow-Sleeve Tee in Stripe with Anchor ($48.00, item 40200) now $29.99. I feel like this tee came out relatively recently.
The only downside is sale is still Final. I feel like this is around the time J.Crew would remove the ban against returns. I am hoping regular Sale will return soon.
Will you be checking out the Final Sale section? Are there any items you are hoping to see or to get?
My husband is going to kill me...I've have shipments coming in daily! I picked up a couple of iPhone cases for gifts, the Sera/traced medallion and a tiered ruffle dress. The promos are so good lately, I may max out my card.
ReplyDeleteI'm new here, quick question....are there any reputable resellers/blogs for J.Crew. I'm hating eBay and tired of getting lowballed. Thanks ;-)
On Monday check out this blog for the weekly exchange (looking to sell).
DeleteThis offer is tempting, and I keep throwing stuff in my cart, but always talk myself out of it when I can't find $175 worth of stuff to get free shipping.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Alexis. So tired of the Final sale. A lot more things would have made their way into my cart if they weren't marked as such.
ReplyDeleteI was also so suprised to see the Contessa snakeskin-bow pumps appear on sale. I thought that was sold out.
Just an FYI- I just got the elbow-sleeve stripe tee in an order and it is both very short and cut funny. I made me (size XS) look pregnant as it belled out in the waist somehow.
ReplyDeleteI reviewed the elbow-sleeve tee on my blog,i agree with rebecca. It is short and boxy.
DeleteYou can see it here.
HTH
Definitely agree. I am pregnant and tees are typically fine, but this was way too short, and not something I would wear not pregnant even!
Deletei wish the Jackie cardigan and shell would be on sale in navy and mint.....
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody know how the Factory Clare cardigan and shell compares to Jackie: quality, sizing etc
The retail Jackies are made of cotton blend (66% cotton/29% nylon/5% spandex) and the Factory Clare is 100% cotton. The both fit TTS.
DeleteI like the Jackie A LOT (and own quite a few sets) for the colour- and stretch-retention, while others who prefer 100% cotton knit favours the Factory version.
If you'd like to get the Jackie twinset, look for FP promos or sweater promos. The navy seldom goes on sale, while the mint does go on clearance at the end of summer.
Hi Closet Chris,
DeleteThanks for the advice. It's good to know that I may be able to buy the mint on clearance. Especially as I'll be on vacation in the US then and won't have to pay the € price which is about 1,5 times the $ price. Yet another reason to look forward to summer;-))
I just got my first Clare over the weekend and think it's very comparable to Jackies. The buttons are exactly the same, and honestly I don't think you could tell the difference up close. The Jackie feels a tiny bit thicker, but both are quality pieces. J. Crew has really stepped up factory quality with regards to this piece!
DeleteThe mint got marked down yesterday in stores ;-)
DeleteHope it gets marked down online as well! I'll be watching the update tomorrow, luckily for me that's around 11 am my time;-))
DeleteHi, I new to your blog and I hope you can help with my question. What is the best number to call ,when looking for an item on sale if available in stock. I am interested in the pixelated houndstooth skirt, but it sold out online. Thanks for your help.
ReplyDeleteRhemmy
Hi Rhemmy, customer service generally won't do a 'we will find it for you' for sale items so you would have to call a store yourself. If the store doesn't have the item they can look up which store may have one and then you could call that store and do a charge send. (Since it is a sale item you'll have to pay shipping.) I've had stores offer to check inventory of other stores before although it seems that not all SAs like to do this.
DeleteYou can also try a JCA WWFIFY - post what size you're looking for on this blog and if a JCA sees it they could email you with the details. :)
HTH
I saw lots of the pixelated houndstooth skirts at the Lenox store in Atlanta on Monday.
DeleteThank you Jan and Emily. Will call Atlanta tomorrow for a size 00 or 0. Jan what is JCA WWFIFY? Thanks
DeleteRemi - WWFIFY = we will find it for you. That's what J Crew calls the service you can use to find regular priced items thru the company. Some of the salespeople call it WIFFY.
DeleteJCA "WIFFY" is when a J Crew Aficionada will respond here on the blog with location of an item, as Emily did for the houndstooth skirt. FYI, JCA WIFFY is much faster than J Crew WIFFY. lol
HTH :)
So true, Gigi! :)
DeleteRhemmy, I hope you find one. I just received it myself and am very happy. I saw some in store that were frayed so I wasn't willing to pay full price. I'm ok with the sale price in case it doesn't hold up that well. I'd ask customer service for measurements as I actually sized down in this skirt but I know other JCAs took their 'normal' skirt size.
Thanks Emily, called the Atlanta store and they had the size, I wanted. I agree with you Gigi, I agree with you totally. I hope so Jan, it looks very lovely.
DeleteAwesome, Remi!
DeleteFor anyone looking, SF Westfield had a size 12 pixelated houndstooth skirt earlier today. 415.434.2739
Last year Spring Sale officially started and final sale ended on the 21st of April, so if history repeats itself, we still have a couple more weeks of final sale to go, unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteI am still stalking the swimsuit section for popbacks in my size. Love that the shipping is free, they get the extra 30% off, and they are not final sale. :)
Also, for those interested, I've noted the new promo-priced items & markdowns from today in this post on my blog.
I loved that about the swim sale section too, but apparently now they are also final sale??? I just looked in my shopping bag and saw this... But it doesn't say anything about that in the free shipping and returns fine print! What's up with that??
DeleteThanks for the heads up Alexis. I love that tee. Keeping my fingers crossed that it fits.
ReplyDeleteNot to be a thread hog, but I have been eyeing the button back factory dress in bohemian red. What color is it exactly? Red or orange? Any help would be appreciated.
ReplyDeleteMore of a red-orange than a red. Not as saturated as I would have liked. I got the blue instead.
DeleteI stopped in today just because I was nearby; did not see anything new, but sale section was fairly large with lots of colored denim and cafe capris. Also the Indian Voile Popover (33768) is marked down to $20 in store ($30 online) and had a full range of sizes in colors fuchsia (is that the hardest word to spell???), neon rose, pagoda blue, and a green. 100% cotton, nice and light and breathable. With the 30% off, at $14, I got the fuchsia, rose and blue; I am sure I will get my money's worth on those this spring and summer. Also saw the Janey Calf-Hair Flats (98541) for $200 before 30% (versus $248 online) in sizes 7.5, 6.5, and 6. Very cute, but my calf hair cravings are completely sated...
ReplyDeleteLol Audreys- I always mis-spell fuchsia!
DeleteWhich store had the popovers Audreys ?
DeleteAudrey so weird. In my store in NYC they are marked 39.99! I paid $27 for it!
DeleteI got excited when I saw the Collection Glimmer Top marked down to $199.99. Its selling pretty fast, hopefully I can score a size 2 on pop-back, someday...
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen it in IRL? Did it look cool?
Updated Irl Pic guide for sale items in this post.

ReplyDeleteManaged to snag a lady day coat for $90 with the promo price! I have been lusting after a red one all season and am so excited to get it in - even if I won't be wearing it for a while! :)
ReplyDeleteI bought a coat and pj pants in the sale this morning. Another nice update!
ReplyDeleteBut I thought it was odd that neither the coat (Lady Day w/ thinsulate, $91) nor the pj's (flannel sleep pants, $13) were final sale.
It definitely got me to buy...
I actually would love to find something I wanted. I swear, 80%+ of my purchases have been returned. Kinda irritating.
ReplyDeleteFor those interested, there are a lot of new Promo-priced items today and some new/recent markdowns, too. I've note them in this post on my blog.
