Always hate to see a promo go, but I'm ready for final sale to be over. Also, if they weren't going to re-stock, at least drop the price on some of those old, old items lingering!
The only things I was interested in were the Meander pants and the Perry peep toe booties. However, FS really turns me off, since I haven't been able to try these items in person and they can't be returned. Nothing for me!
Like others I will be happy when Final Sale ends. I feel like the breaks between Final Sales are getting smaller and smaller. I hate that some newer sale items I'd been hoping for are considered final even though they just went on sale.
I hate that crewcuts are FS too. All the items I used to get before were always returnable. The colors are so inconsistent from my monitor to irl. And I am so over FS in general!
Can anyone comment on the Factory crochet sweater, particularly the length? I'm petite so I'm afraid it will be too long on me and then I won't be able to return it... I've been doing well with the length of this year's retail sweaters (i.e. fisherman, fair isle) but typically JC pullover styles are way too long on me and look really silly.
Have a few things in my cart but still not sure whether I will be taking advantage of this promo. Cannot wait for FS to end. May again stop by my B&M at lunchtime to see if they've added anything to sale, given that I've been getting much better prices in store lately and at least I can try things on!
Argh, I was in the middle of checking out with the Clipper cardigan in black (item 50507) and it disappeared from my cart! :-( Has anyone seen it in their local B & M?? I'm looking for a size Small.
I keep checking to see if the portia pants pop back. Other than that, there is nothing in the sale area that interests me, especially since I will not take a chance on final sale.
JenLyn, I had the white screen trying to check out new arrivals too. I'm taking it as a sign that there's nothing interesting there :)
I got the cashmere boyfriend sweater and it is lovely--the cashmere is super soft, the color is actually darker and more purple than on my monitor. It runs tts (it's supposed to be a little loose). I love it and wanted to share here as it is a catalogue/internet only item. But I don't like the $8.95 shipping and wish they'd lower the shipping threshold to $100.
FYI, they added new coats to the website in very bright, crayon colors. For example, the Majesty Peacoat everyone raved about now comes in yellow, deep purple, a maraschino cherry colors and is back in stock in the pink peony color.
I actually received the Majesty Peacoat in the heather graphite color last night and am disappointed in it. I ordered my usual size 2 in coats, I like to layer beneath. While the coat is very soft, I found the fit quite masculine and shapeless. I am afraid to even size down to a 0 because I know in the long run, it won't fit for long. Also, the lapel/collar is quite large.
Does anyone have the Stadium Cloth Elements coat from this season or last winter? I am thinking of trying that out.
I bought two pairs of petite Capri pants. Love them. However, I'm getting the slightly shorter length (23" instead of 25"), so hopefully I will love them. I have loved the fit of all J.Crew pants so far ...
i got my sale order in record time... ordered monday, delivered yesterday... AND everything was good... was sweating it out a little because of final sale and all... i thought that would be the end of ordering stuff for a while, but new arrivals popped up today and my budget is once again screwed. (sigh)
Visited my B&M last night. (Park Meadows, CO). Tried on a couple of items: Vintage cotton baseball tee Tried S...too big XS ok but decided no. Fair Isle sweater ACORN CHAMPAGNE..XS. Color too blah. Finespun embroidered henley. XS was only 9.99 with 30%off..but too small. But did want to mention what I did see there in case someone is looking for sale items. Streetscape cape - believe price was either $69.99 or $99.99 Blythe shirtdress Poppy and Navy in sizes 6 and below $99.99 Silk Polka Dot Tee Origami mini in peony Pipe dream hoodie Can't remember prices on 3 above but they were on sale, plus 30% off.
Can anyone comment if they have seen the lady lace popover in a certain store? Looking for a L in gray or champagne...thinking the in-store price is better than online :) Thanks so much!
The Keynote dress in deep lagoon is stunning! Why oh why are these gorgeous suiting dresses always catalog/online only? I feel like I'm always between sizes and need to order 2 just to find one that fits right...
love some of the new items, but waiting for them to be on sale. has anyone noticed that the royal paisley pencil skirt shows up as a dress when you click on it? I actually like both, but wish they'd fix it.
Feel like a sucker, but I couldn't resist the Schoolboy blazer in herringbone ($35 + ship). It says it should ship in January, which makes no sense to me if it is FS? Ah, well. Hope it isn't as wrinkly as it looks in the pic...
Has anyone tried the Clifton Booties? The additional 30% off is really appealing, but I would prefer to get these booties home for a "test run" before I commit. I hate this final sale stuff.
Any of you ladies have any luck/disappointments/other experiences to share with JC's We Will Find It service? I was bumming hard about missing the Wool Cowlneck Poncho after it went on sale, so I figured I'd take a chance and beg the folks at WWFI to track it down for me-- even though I known they're only supposed to deal with FP merch. To my immense shock not only did the rep promptly offer to locate it for me, she cheerfully informed me that she was showing inventory in my size, and that I should expect an order confirmation via email within the next 48 hrs-- *with promo applied!* Call me a pessimist, but does this sound too good to be true to anyone else? What do you think the chances are that I'll actually see this poncho?
Lizzy, that sounds optimistic! I've had mixed luck with WWFI... last year I had them search for a number of items they didn't find but popped up online in the sale section in my size less than 2 weeks later, however this year all of my WWFI orders have been successful. The representatives are usually pretty upfront with you about what they're showing in terms of inventory so I have faith that you'll get your item. Good luck!
Just popped by my B&M to see what's been added to sale (I swear, having a B&M around the corner from my office is both a blessing and a curse). Picked up the flair skirt in plaid, which appears to be FP online, for $53 after the 30% and my student discount. I didn't think much of this one on the hanger but it is stunning on. Otherwise, didn't see too much that wasn't there on Monday. I did ask when the 30% discount is ending in stores and the salesperson said he didn't know.
One thing I forgot to say - my B&M (45th & Madison in NYC) had about 8 of the telegraph skirts in heather elm which are supposed to be online only. They were marked $89.99 I believe. Saw a size 2 and a few 8s, 10s and 12s.
Trying to decide between the Dream Open cardigan and the Dream Cardigan. Open one..looks like it runs big, so wondering if I should go with a XS...any thoughts/comments, thanks.
beware the Merino pencil skirt item number 48712. I asked CS how long it was over chat and they told me 20.5" for an XS. The No 2 pencil skirt is about 2 inches longer in a size 2 for comparison.
Online it looks like the Merino skirt would be longer and the CS rep was surprised too. It saved my self from a bad FS purchase.
I'm so jealous! They did a WWFI search for me yesterday but within 2 hrs they had already emailed saying they were unsuccessful. I called today to do it and the guy said he couldn't.
Just out of curiousity - please tell me you were not looking for an XXS!!!
@OperaRach-- nope, a small. The woman I got on the phone was insanely friendly, so maybe it's just the luck of the draw. That's been my experience too with getting promos applied retroactively and such-- some CS reps are willing to go the extra mile, some aren't. Either way I will let you know. @Dara-- thanks, you have given me hope!
Josanne- I have the Dream Open Cardigan in my regular sweater size small. I like this sweater alot, but I can see how some will think it odd. It is kind of cocoon-like as it wraps around the front. but it drapes well on the front edges by lying flat. Overall it is sized to be "oversized" vs a library cardigan style; but the arms are not oversized rather just normal bandwidth.. HTH! (I got the black and love it.)
Nicole - I got the stadium cloth elements coat in black last year. I love it!! I have many of the Double Cloth coats, which I love, but I was very impressed by the stadium cloth. It's warm and very soft. I liked that the elements coat had a hood, which I used often. I love this coat so much that I am looking to get it in another color this year - I am excited to see it back this year. Let me know if you have any specific questions!
Thank you, Elizableu! I always get black coats so I am leaning toward the Elements coat in heather graphite, still a neutral, but not black :) Plus, my casual North Face coat is black, so this will definitely be a great addition to my wardrobe. Now, if we could just get a darn outerwear promo......
I was able to grab the Fisherman sweater for 59.99, a few satin headbands 9.99, a grommeted hook closure belt that is 14.99 in store but FS 29.99 online, a pair of sweatpants/leggings kinda situations for 49.99, all with the additional 30% off.
@Dara are they back to allowing you to use student discounts on sale items and on top of promotions?
Dear J.Crew Aficionadas & Aficionados: Please feel free (and encouraged) to share your thoughts and opinions. :) However, please note that this is still a personal blog. So comments that are considered inappropriate (e.g. obscene, racist, homophobic, personal attacks, rude, and just plain mean) will be removed.
No FS for me. I hope it changes to Fall Sale soon!

ReplyDeleteLate update today. Not much...
ReplyDeleteLike others I will be happy when Final Sale ends. I feel like the breaks between Final Sales are getting smaller and smaller. I hate that some newer sale items I'd been hoping for are considered final even though they just went on sale.
ReplyDeleteNo update, no returns, hidden items, $9 shipping. These FS + additional % off sales are totally not worth it.
ReplyDeleteI hate that crewcuts are FS too. All the items I used to get before were always returnable. The colors are so inconsistent from my monitor to irl.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am so over FS in general!

ReplyDeleteanyone having issues online viewing anything but sale items. I'm trying to check out the new arrivals but only get a white screen.
ReplyDeleteJenLynn - me too. I had to keep refreshing the page.

ReplyDeleteNew arrivals updated on website!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know when the new arrivals will be in stores? I called one store and the SA said she didn't know if it't tomorrow or next week.
ReplyDeleteAlso, is the November catalogue out yet?
Thank you!

ReplyDeletewebsite seriously messed up. please fix, want to see new stuff!

Providence, RI (401) 243-0250

Also, Fisherman Sweater, lots of sizes and colors $59.99 plus 30% off. Back to $98.00 online.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone comment if they have seen the lady lace popover in a certain store? Looking for a L in gray or champagne...thinking the in-store price is better than online :) Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteI was able to view the new arrivals online by hitting the refresh button (after getting the white screen). Really lovely rollout!
ReplyDeleteI have no problem viewing new arrivals in Firefox, maybe you can try switching your browser.
ReplyDeleteQuite a few things I like...
The Keynote dress in deep lagoon is stunning! Why oh why are these gorgeous suiting dresses always catalog/online only? I feel like I'm always between sizes and need to order 2 just to find one that fits right...
ReplyDeleteDara, it's a stunning dress, It might even coax me into working full time again so that I'd have somewhere to wear it!
ReplyDeleteOT - Talbots is having a big sale -- up to 60% off.
ReplyDeletelove some of the new items, but waiting for them to be on sale. has anyone noticed that the royal paisley pencil skirt shows up as a dress when you click on it? I actually like both, but wish they'd fix it.
ReplyDeleteKendra: that's what xoxo was talking about in the "Style Me" post. It is the skirt paired up with the top in the same pattern! LOL
ReplyDeletei'm surprised at the pricing of the new items...the coats and sweaters.
ReplyDeleteFeel like a sucker, but I couldn't resist the Schoolboy blazer in herringbone ($35 + ship). It says it should ship in January, which makes no sense to me if it is FS? Ah, well. Hope it isn't as wrinkly as it looks in the pic...

ReplyDeleteLooks like they did a warehouse count and there is a bunch of new stuff on sale in the last 10 minutes.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, major restock! Mickey must have wandered into the warehouse and freaked at the state of inventory.
ReplyDeleteTrying to decide between the Dream Open cardigan and the Dream Cardigan. Open one..looks like it runs big, so wondering if I should go with a XS...any thoughts/comments, thanks.

ReplyDeletePathos, thanks for the FB. I needed to place the order before I had to go out for the evening and ended up picking the regular dream cardigan.
