Weekly Share: Other JCrew-like Retailers

This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent" posts), where we can share our finds from other retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew (like LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann Taylor, and the like.)

If you have recently encountered items that are similar to J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

    Big sale at Eddie Bauer on Saturday: everything is 30% off.

    I am eying the Wool Hunting Club blazer - great quality and design details. Online reviews state runs small though, so I will size up.

    Also, really nice down jackets in some beautiful colors. I recently got the 4 season vest that is reversible and comes in a silvery color - receive complements from strangers - kinda a modern retro piece.

    I have to say I love the wool skirts offered by Boden. They have such rich and gorgenous colors. And the wool feels so soft and "expensive." Boden's workmanship is also excellent. I have a few of their skirts from several years ago and they look the same as on day 1. Wish I could say this about J Crew lately!

    Brooks Brothers has a promo offering a free leather duffel bag (valued at $498 US) if you purchase a single men's or women's outerwear piece priced at $498 or more. I admit, it's a pretty high threshold but if people were planning to buy an investment outerwear piece it is a nice bonus.

    Gap is 35% off purchase online and in stores today (goes down by like 5% the next few days in a row) and this sweater http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=8993&vid=1&pid=850546 is my new favorite thing. So comfy and easy for wear to work on top of all black.

    BR 25% off $100, but I think they are due for a 40% off soon...

    Loft and Ann Taylor have big clearance discounts (I think 30% and 40%) but I personally have not found anything too enticing on either website, at least not in my size.

    I have to buy a Coach bag and I was wondering if anyone has a coupon that they won't be using or knows about a sale coming up. I hate paying fp but it is the only bag that I found in tge exact same color that I need. Any help is greatly appteciated!

    Ema - I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Coach had a $100 off $300 coupon over the weekend, but I believe it expired Monday. I'll definitely let you know when I get another coupon!

    Lands End has a couple cute ponte knit dresses that are currently on sale. They had a wide range of sizes at my local Sears which has a pretty big Lands End dept. carrying regular, petites, and women's sizes. This sleeveless one is really cute but my favorite is the 3/4 sleeve one which also comes in that pretty green. So if you're in the mall and they have a Sears, it's worth dropping in. I am glad I tried it on in store first because it seems to run big.

    Are there any Talbots free shipping codes out there? A pair of shoes I recently bought is now on sale for $20 cheaper. Want to return and rebuy but not without free shipping, and they don't carry my size in the store. Thanks!!!

    Just saw these shoes at Talbots, with suspiciously similar colors to the J.Crew cece suede flats. This style did not work for me at all... the point is extremely uncomfortable and not remedied by sizing up, unfortunately.

    Anyone know of another retailer that sells a shirt like the Selvedge Chambray? Really wanting it, but don't want to spend $98! BR has something close....with puffed sleeves. :/

    I chatted with a Tablots rep online and they issued me a price adjustment. It was very easy and I am happy with the outcome. Of course, I haven't even received the shoes yet (patent pointy toe flats in red) and am 90% sure they are going to be too big, but I wanted to try them one last time before abandoning them altogether.

    Ugh, Talbots! They charged me for shipping when I used the promo code for 25% off with free shipping on any order. The confirmation e-mail stated the correct amount and reflected free shipping, but a surprise extra $10 showed up on my credit card statement today. So if anyone else made a Talbots order recently with the free shipping code, make sure you really did get free shipping. I was able to do yet another online chat to get it taken off but I did not receive an apology and he acted like I was doing something wrong. Hello, their mistake! Oh well. It's taken care of and I'm happy.
