This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new FALL arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!
Yay! Crewcuts have been added to the factory online! Woo hoo!
ReplyDeleteI am hoping to visit this weekend, yes!
ReplyDeleteyup - returns. And I'd really like to try on the Majesty pea coat for fit.
ReplyDeleteherringbone shirtdress is on sale at $89.99 with additional 30% off and student discount, it was a steal!
ReplyDeletealso, the plaid flair skirt was marked down to $89.99 as well.
cable knit fishermen sweater down to $59.99. in wide array of colors!
100% merino wool camel colored with black colorblock cape marked down to $99.
polka dot tee (navy with white dots) down to $59.99.
plaid cafe capri pants at 89.99 and 99.99 depending on store at corte madera and stonestown, respectively.
oops, one more. kind of off topic, but madewell's leather archive boot had extra 25% cut but is final sale. snagged a pair in english saddle, size 6 at corte madera, CA store with additional student discount. out the door price at ~190 before tax.
ReplyDeletealexa chung for madewell's ruby cardigan is sold out in xs at sf downtown and corte madera stores. =\
Subscribing. :)
ReplyDeleteI am making the trek to the Willow Grove PA store today. Girls, I'm so confused. This probably belongs in the vent section, but here goes. I'm interested in the maisie dress. It's online for $178 and backordered until december. I called asked for a store search- and was surprised when they found one for me. Imagine my surprised when I checked my credit card and the dress is 62.00! Don't get me wrong, I'm happy about that price, but why is it 1. on back order until december when it's available in stores and 2. On sale?
ReplyDeleteI know the price differences between the website and stores has been an issue, but wow. It makes me feel like a fool for ordering online. I should do store searches instead!

ReplyDeleteOh yes, I sure will! I put a board together today of SOME of the things I love! http://chiccoastalliving.blogspot.com/2011/10/fall-in-love.html
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend Alexis!
Probably not, but can I just say how bizarre it is that someone's selling old J.Crew catalogs on ebay for $60 a pop?
ReplyDeleteNo visit for me - I'll sit home and wait for a cardholder promo. :)
ReplyDeleteM, I saw that! All of a sudden, there are a glut of old catalogs on eBay. I'd love to see some of them, but not for $60 apiece!
Ethan (Encore) trench, Winsome dress and some othets all on sale on the website.
ReplyDeleteSome cute factory new arrivals too, in particular the Blousanna silk blouse in bright dahlia.
i need someone to talk me out of making an online purchase. thinking of just getting the paisley pencil skirt since i missed out on the last version (and it sold out before it really went on sale). i was going to get the elsie floral skirt but i believe someone posted it was cheap (like H&M cheap) so i crossed that off the list.
ReplyDeleteanyone know about any possible cardholder promos coming up or when the rewards cards ship?
I am thinking about it if the new arrivals are in stores but I highly doubt that.
ReplyDeleteI would also love to see a cardholder promo.
Has anyone seen the Fisherman sweater in an NYC B&M in the champagne color, size XS? It's the one item I've been stalking that I haven't been able to connect with yet. Wondering if the extra 30% off is still going on in stores... I asked yesterday and they didn't know.
ReplyDeleteWearing the plaid flair skirt I picked up yesterday and I love it so much! Wouldn't have thought it was my style at all from having seen it online, but it really pops once you try it on. I'm pairing it today with brown knee high boots, a brown favorite tank, a cashmere cardi in snow and a necklace with big brown chunky stones which I can't recall the name of, and anyway I feel like I just stepped out of a '60s film! Really great find for $89.99 in store with an additional 30% off.
allyson, I totally agree! I was just telling a friend yesterday that JC is the one store where you find much better deals at the B&Ms than you do online. I've made it a habit to always check the stores before placing online orders, just because there is often such a vast price differential for items that may be FP online but are deeply discounted in store. If I didn't live in NYC with access to several stores, I would definitely be looking to the JCA community (even more than I already do!) to know what prices items are being offered at in stores.
ReplyDeleteLast week I did ask a salesperson why there is often such a huge difference in price from the stores to the website and he said he believed it had to do with the inventory at the warehouse. That doesn't clarify much for me but it's one explanation.
Just a quick update for ladies who may be hankering for some hard-to-find sale items-- We Will Find It came through for me big-time. I had called them yesterday on a lark, hoping to talk one of the reps into tracking down the wool cowlneck poncho for me on the last day of the promo, and was pleasantly surprised when she said yes without further discussion AND said she could apply the promo no prob. Now I've just checked my inbox to find the best email ever- poncho found, promo applied, item on it's way! I know that some JCAs have had problems getting WWFI to work with them on sale items, but I just thought I'd share the good news that there IS hope! JC just won some serious loyalty from me (though, let's be real-- not like they didn't have it already).
ReplyDeleteFigures that the black Clipper cardigan that I was about to check out with *yesterday* comes back in stock this morning! Grrrrr! I bit the bullet and ordered it now. What a bummer about not getting the 30% off. I will try to stay away from the website this weekend!
ReplyDeleteDara, I got mine at the Madison @ 46th store two days ago, isn't it the store where you usually go? There was another one on the floor and they usually have more in the back. Did you ask a SA?
ReplyDeleteDara, your outfit sounds lovely!
ReplyDeleteI just don't understand the factory items. They used to be from past years, but now it seems they're from past rollouts.
I'll pass on going this weekend, since I just went to a B&M this week for the 30% promo. And yes, the B&M prices are usually lower than online. They had all colors of the Lucinda blouse on sale, as well as all colors of the Boy Shirt in Crepe de Chine, AND the sale prices for these were lower than the ones offered for the colors on sale online.
ReplyDelete@ Ema: Thanks for the info about the factory Blousanna in dahlia. I love that shirt but the factory version seems shorter than the regular version. Also $78 is still pricey for a factory item! Back inside the wallet my credit card goes...
ReplyDeleteWent yesterday to check out the sale section and it amazed me how many new or very recent arrivals were there. Tons of Lucinda blouses, Fisherman sweaters and Plaid Flair Skirts as well (in Northbrook). Also Ballet Flats, didnt catch prices on everything but quite a few sizes. I got a Silk Boy Shirt, and a Dream Fair Isle Vest which came to 11.89.
ReplyDeleteDara -- if you can make it downtown the South St Seaport store just got a huge sale shipment in from the city stores and NJ, and they have lots of the Fisherman sweater upstairs. (I picked it up in navy myself last nite). The 30% off sale ended there last nite though.
ReplyDeleteEma, thanks for pointing out that the Encore is on sale! I looked through the sale stuff this morning but somehow I missed it. Kind of surprised at the price reduction... but wow, I've wanted it since it came out. Will have to consider it now...
ReplyDeleteI won't be going to J.Crew this weekend... but maybe early next week!
Thanks, Ema and Roxy! I cannot believe I didn't think to check the floor when I was at the Madison Ave store yesterday - amateur mistake! LOL. There was stuff all over the floor with all the customers rummaging madly through the racks and I'm sure there were many good finds down there. Gonna check there first today at lunchtime and then hit the Seaport tonight if I'm unlucky. I've actually never been to the Seaport store and I know it's the first ever J.Crew so I'm dying to go!
ReplyDeleteAlso, thanks silver_lining :)
Did anyone notice the factory mini check cardigan? I did only because I have a double serge wool pencil skirt in that print that I got at a sample sale in 2009. So random that it's now on a factory cardigan. If they'd have made the skirt, I think it would have flown off the shelves!

ReplyDeleteThe Blythe Shirtdress is on sale for $99 with additional 30^ off at the B&M in Pentagon City but they didn't have it in my size (and only the red colorway was left). I might pop into the one at Georgetown or Friendship Heights here in the DC area to see if I can find one.
ReplyDeleteshopwithm, I find it hilarious that someone has been selling (or trying to sell) J. Crew shopping paper bags on ebay. The last one I saw had a $15 bid.
ReplyDeletesilver_lining, I noticed the outlet I usually go to sometime has end-of-season merchandise from the regular retail store as well. A couple of months ago they had loads of Bermuda shorts in chambray and I even found a long-sleeved cashmere tee in a bright purple (dahlia?). Unfortunately it was to small, otherwise I would have grabbed it.
ReplyDeleteAnnie, I used the red phone and had a navy blythe shirtdress shipped to me from the warehouse. My cs said they can do that if it is in stock. Got the 30% plus teacher discount plus free shipping. Total cost for the dress was about $63.00.
ReplyDeleteOld catalogues and shopping bags on eBay?? Next we'll see items sent to customers with deodorant stains and the like being advertised as one of a kind for a grand a pop!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI might toodle down to my B&M to see if they're offering extra 30% off, but if not, probably won't be picking up anything. Still smartin' from the warehouse sale haul ;) and will be cleaning closets yet again this weekend. Sadly my weight is yo-yoing again so I need to make some adjustments *sigh*....
ReplyDeleteAnnie, I know they had a couple of the Blythe shirtdress in Navy at the Park Meadows, CO store on Wednesday night in size 6 and couple of other sizes. Maybe worth a call. I am going to swing by the Cherry Creek store tonight and see if there is anything interesting.
ReplyDeleteRose, I saw that too! Hm, I think I might have an old one in my garage somewhere if anyone wants to buy it from me. lol, kidding.
ReplyDeleteI'm back from my Willow Grove PA Store voyage. I found the darn Maisie dress in all sizes on the final sale rack. Sadly, I didn't like it. I'm sure the one from the store search is marked final sale. UGH! Anyway, I was underwhelmed with the selection. At least I only paid 68 bucks rather than the online FP. I've learned my lesson. If I really want an item I'm going to call the store and check the price. J.Crew really needs to correct this issue. It's hard to be a loyal customer when you feel like you've been cheated by ordering on line.
ReplyDeleteLast week at the Fashion Place store in SLC, I purchased the Maisy dress for 89.00 on sale. This was confusing to me because that day, it was full price and backordered. It was a surprise to see on sale so I snagged it because I loved how it fit and the store lacked anything that was worth looking at. I also feel like you have to go to the store to just check if an item is on sale before buying online and I hate doing that travel...why can't the online and stores be consistent? Also, anyone purchase the Blythe Shirtdress in Dahlia yet??? is it worth purchasing now at $178 or waiting???
ReplyDeleteThanks.
I'm really interested in ordering the majesty peacoat in red. I haven't bought a J Crew coat before. Do you guys advise I buy now? Do you think this color will sell out in 2 weeks?
ReplyDeleteI totally agree Shariyu! I hate to think of the money I've spent on FP on line items vs. the prices at the stores. I'm going to be checking the stores before I order on line. I also question their inventory management. How can an item be on back order until December when the stores clearly have lots of them? Willow Grove had one in every size! The darn dress is even on ebay!
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen the majestic purple and dark eggplant colors of the double-cloth metro coat? Any reviews on the fit?
ReplyDeleteWhy is the boy shirt in quincy tartan on sale online and still full price at my store?
I called my store and the 30% is over.
Just to confirm, the 30% off sale was over at my store as well. Did find the Fisherman sweater in champagne which I couldn't find yesterday, and while it hurt to lose the 30% off incentive, I picked it up anyway. The sale section appeared half as plentiful as it was yesterday; I'm wondering if perhaps they shipped some of the inventory back to the warehouse. Tried on the Maisie dress, and while I thought it was a very cute dress, it looked quite drab in solid gray. Would've liked to have connected with it in the abstract floral print which was marked $89.99 (versus $99.99 for the solids which I found odd) but they did not have my size.
ReplyDeleteIn terms of new merch, I was pleased to see that in addition to the felted mini in red which I spotted yesterday, they also had an ivory version today - I've been hoping they would offer it in ivory given that my felted wool mini from '09 is looking pretty dirty by now yet goes with so many items in my wardrobe! Also picked up some tights with the 25% promo off 2 or more pair - I still think JC charges too much for their tights but I get sucked in by the gorgeous colors, patterns and textures.
No extra % off sale in my store and nothing good left anyway, so I boogied. The state fair is this weekend and I'd rather spend my money there, lol!
ReplyDeleteNo visit for me this weekend. I was able to get quite a few items from my wishlist this last week during the 30% off. I have an wonderful dh who picked them up for me while on his business trip in Detroit. :)
ReplyDeleteShopwithm- Aren't the prices for the catalogs amazing? I lucked out last spring and bought 2 lots of old catalogs (not terribly old, 2009/10) but at .99 cents per lot!
Elaine is that at the Durham store? Sounds like I won't be going as well (which is just as well as I have the cashmere tee dress and polka dot blouson dress heading my way!). I think the hubs and I will be heading to the fair this weekend as well, four years here and we still haven't been!
ReplyDeleteHerringbone shirtdress marked down at my store to $89! I have been stalking it for a month. I was so thrilled. I probably could have stood to go down another size but I didn't want to have to pay shipping and all that and it was a little tight in the shoulders. I am going to belt it anyway and wear layers underneath.
ReplyDeleteSO CUTE! After my student discount I feel good about buying it.
OT: I just noticed a "gimlet skirt in harvest tweed" on the looks we love page. Not released yet as far as I can tell. Anyone know anything about it?

ReplyDeleteThere was an extra 30% off at the Crabtree Mall in Cary, NC. I ended up getting the plaid Flair skirt for like $55 with that discount + my teacher discount. Such a score!
ReplyDeleteI also tried on the blouson dress in polka dot and LOVED it. You can see pics here.
I am reviewing the Foundry pants on my blog here. I give them two thumbs up!!! Wanted to give everyone the heads up, in case there were still some to be had at an extra discount at some B&M store!!
ReplyDeleteDara, my store in Las Vegas, Nevada had the Maisie dresses in abstract floral. I'm not sure of the prices or sizes but can't hurt to call if you really want it. Nothing at the store for me. They NEVER carry anything I really want! So depressing to hear about all the great sales everyone is getting out there, but I am happy for everyone as well!
ReplyDeleteIf anyone sees the merino pleated skirt in saddle in xs, would you please let me know? kikkicee at live dot com. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteIt was the Crabtree store I was at, and I didn't see any signs for extra 30% off, boo hoo ...there were afew Crewcuts tees I might have bought if I had known. Ah well.
ReplyDeleteI got the new catalogue last night and outside of the polka-dot blouson dress and the polka-dot popover, I didn't see anything I had to have. I guess polka-dots are the new stripes?
There might be a stealth sale at the B & M store at Crabtree. I was prepared to pay FP, but I got a discount on a perfect tee, bootcut cords, and a beautiful scarf. I think it was a 20 percent discount.
ReplyDeleteI've been waiting FOREVER for the Cashmere Shawl Collar sweater in Heather Camel to pop back in my size and today I noticed all the colors went on sale. If anyone sees this in a size SMALL can you put it on hold for me and let me know, you can post here or email me!
ReplyDeleteThank you so, so much :> karenturk1@gmail
Seems like they keep adding new markdowns to the sale section - today I noticed the sidenote sweater, camel cable sweater, marching mini, and others.
ReplyDeleteVisited the Cherry Creek, CO store last night. No 30% off but still a huge sale section for a small store. They had so many shoes, lots of Maisie dresses in floral print, some nice bags. Also, some collection Trench Coats not sure the name. I did notice that the Bootcut Cords were on sale and the Boatneck Ts. They also had the Poppy King lipstick which I did buy and do love. I did try on the Majesty Pea Coat and the Boulevard Trench. I thought the upper arms were a little tight since I only had a tee on. None of the new colors, just Navy and Camel. I think I will wait for the hopeful outwear discount and purchase a petite coat.
ReplyDeleteWhat colors cashmere are people loving and buying? Did you like Plum Orchid? Are Bright Dahlia and Vibrant Flame too much of an eyesore? I feel like buying cashmere this weekend :>
ReplyDeleteElaine: Bummer! I was there on Thursday, so maybe that ended with the week's end? btw, what a lovely mall that is! It was a nice reprieve from my conference :)
ReplyDeleteYes, the promo at the Crabtree mall in Raleigh ended on Thursday.
ReplyDeleteWell, I made the trip, tried on the maraschino cafe trousers and fell in love. sigh Have to have them hemmed, though - wish they'd made them in short. This was my first time to try on the cafe trousers in any material and I really love them. The cherry is a really pretty red, no pink tones at all.
ReplyDeleteSo, I visited my local SLC downtown store this afternoon and actually walked out with the vintage slim cord in cream (backordered online until forever).
ReplyDeleteNothing really new out and no CHERRY colored capri pants...just tan and black....what stores have the cherry? Online it's backordered until 2012!
Any help would be great. Thanks.
I went to the Warehouse sale again (second trip) today in Chapel Hill. They marked down prices and I scored some awesome finds today. Cece studded ballet flats in warm taupe for $20 (currently $138 online). I got a lucinda blouse ($98 online now) for $10. I got a beautiful black starburst strapless dress for $15 that i think was just online for $275 and a ton of other great stuff. Good finds still there- just need to dig and take your time. I had a coddington pump in olive in my hand but could not find the match in my size so expect stuff like that if you are in the area and check it out.
ReplyDeleteOn the fence about making the trek to U Village by Seattle. Any extra % off? How's the sale section? Any new arrivals? Would appreciate any info to help me decide if it's worth the drive! TIA!!
ReplyDeleteCompletely OT but I have question that only a JCA would be able to answer. I ordered Blythe blouse and it came in the mail folded, of course. It has creases where it was folded and I want to wear it to a party tomorrow. I don't own a steamer and I don't have time to bring it to the dry cleaner. Anyone know if using an iron on "silk" setting will damage the blouse? TIA
ReplyDelete@crewgurl: use the silk setting on your iron but layer a thin tee (or towel) between the iron and the silk shirt and you should be good to go. Also try hanging it in the bathroom as you're taking a shower. For the ultimate Macgyver solution, try hanging your shirt over a boiling kettle (the plug in ones are good, you can put in on the ground below the shirt if you're hanging it over a door). HTH.
ReplyDeleteI picked up the plaid flair skirt from Country Club Plaza {Kansas City} ... great quality & it's super cute ... Will pair it with a gray pull-over style sweater ...
ReplyDelete@Closet Crisis, Wow! those are great ideas. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteCrewGurl,
ReplyDeleteI know you need your blouse looking nice ASAP but for future reference and anyone else interested: Jo-Ann Fabrics makes a see through pressing cloth (view it online) that is amazing b/c you can see where you are pressing and have some protection for your clothing. I could not live without mine. I bought a second one to have on had just in case.
OT: Old Navy is now selling a pair of capris similar to last year's Wool Lolli pant and the Café Capri in 'Bright Dahlia' from this year. It's the Cuffed Dress Capri in 'Pink Euphoria' for $15.
ReplyDeleteI keep reading about the Lucinda blouse in sale in all colors in the stores but I have actually never seen it in the spice gold color. Is that one on sale too and has anybody seen it in a store (specifically in NYC?) TIA!
ReplyDelete@Dara ,
ReplyDeleteIn addition to South St. Seaport (such a cute J.Crew, and one of my favorites!) you should check out the one in SoHo too. It is usually not that busy because it is not on Broadway, it is on Prince Street, between Mercer and Greene.
All of the sales items are downstairs in the corner, they usually have a decent selection, and I can tell the sales prices at that B&M are phenomenal compared to online, especially with the shoes I was seeing there earlier this week.
Speaking of phenomenal, they have a shoe room, and have these crazy amazing wingtip sparkly oxford pumps. I didn't think to grab a picture/name of them and I don't see them online, despite going through all the shoes...anyone know what they are?
Pathos--the plum orchid is a lovely color and it is so soft (unlike some darker cashmeres which use the dark, rougher hairs). It is more purply than it looks on line but has a touch of maroon. I love it.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen the gilded tweed mini skirt in either a 2 or a 4? I have been trying to track this down for a couple of weeks without too much success. Please put it on hold for Jen or let me know if you see it!
ReplyDeleteSome reviews on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI see JC site had a restock, and the Garden Lace Pencil skirt in 2 sizes is available.
Jen | Our Life Accounts, the JC in Charleston, SC, had several of those skirts yesterday afternoon. I didn't look at the sizes, but it would be worth giving them a call. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteShout out to my amazing PS, who gave me the extra 30% off on the black Clipper cardigan!!! Now I'm saving my pennies for the Blythe shirt dress in that bright dahlia colour...
ReplyDeleteMoya-thanks for the feedback! :>
ReplyDeleteOT: The older version of the Icon Trench is back in the sale section HERE for $198. :)
ReplyDeleteEma - I've never seen the spicy gold Lucinda in stores, but it is on sale for 59.99. Since my store didn't have it, the SA called online from the red phone and ordered for me and requested a price match, which they did no problem. HTH!
ReplyDelete
