Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new FALL arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  2. Went to the Bellevue Square store. The sale section was quite picked over. Noticed a couple of new coats (reviews on my blog). Also the metallic boucle pencil skirts arrived.

Visited the Crewlet -- it now has the Factory version of the Timber Tweed skirt. I have the original one, and can tell you I couldn't see any difference. I would have to check the fabric content to be sure.

They also have an imitation of the yellow Sunnie skirt. This one is not as good as the original one, as that was pure wool. Also the fabric pattern is close, but not identical, although not really noticeable from afar.

  4. Rose, the Factory Timber Tweed skirt - same length as regular retail. I usually take the petite length

  6. Does anyone think there will be a sweater promo soon? I want to get 2 or 3 but I'd love to get 20% off, especially since it is going to be 80 here today and I don't need them yet.

  7. JS-- i think there's a select sweater promo online today... up to 30%

anyone know anything about the "gimlet tweed skirt" show in the looks we love section with a camel coat, pink blouse and mona pumps? i emailed customer service and they said both colors are already sold out... but i don't remember seeing it and the pencil skirt with that tweed material just came out... very confused.

  8. MissJR, I haven't seen it online yet, which makes me think that it'll probably be out in the next batch of new arrivals in two weeks. Sometimes they tend to just show up in between rollouts so I'd keep checking the website.

  9. Maybe more of a vent, but I found it odd that a pair of crewcuts shoes for my daughter were 50% off in the store this weekend but not on sale online.

On the plus side, the SA got me the size that I needed on sale (not in the store) and will have them shipped free - and they are returnable if need be.

But it undermines my confidence in both my in-person and online shopping experience at JCrew. Each time I shop there I wonder if I'm getting shafted.

  10. ok... so as luck would have it, the gimlet skirt i asked about before just popped up online (in the wrong size though)... i decided to just take a chance and have CS do a we will find it for you even though i think more sizes will pop up online soon enough... i guess we'll see what happens... (sigh)

  11. The only thing I tried on this weekend was the wool cafe trouser. I know this style has been around for a while, but this was my first time to try it on. Of course, I loved the cherry color, but the fit is fabulous! I wore my normal JC pant size. They are slightly higher waisted, like the flare jeans. I did have to have them hemmed since I'm 5'4" and they don't come in short. I highly recommend them. I hope to pick up more on sale.
