ReplyDeleteI am finding quite a few nice things at H & M this season! I recently picked up a caramel ribbed knit poncho from H & M (see IRL pics posted on my blog here). I didn't want to spend much on the poncho trend, so this is perfect. It was only $25 CAD and looks really nice even though it's acrylic. I also picked up a pair of nutmeg brown coloured stretch denim skinny jeans (only $30!) which look fantastic with black riding boots. The fit and quality of these pants is amazing for the price.

Also, has anyone checked out Project Slice? It's an online service that organizes shipping, orders, receipts, etc. using gmail, yahoo or manual information. It's in beta, so it's a little buggy but I think it's helpful in organizing all my online purchases.

ReplyDeleteFFM, I recall that you had the Alexa Chung for Madewell Betty Tea Dress. Can you advise on fit? I've heard that Madewell is afflicted with vanity sizing, too, so I was surprised when the online chat told me that a size 2 had a tiny waist (like around 26"). Thanks.
ReplyDeletekikki cee: The Betty Tea dress runs TTS/slightly large, imo. The waist is elastic, so it will stretch out larger than the 26 inches. I had the size 4 and returned it because it felt and looked a bit too big on me. If I were to purchase it again I would go with a 2, which is my 'normal' J.Crew dress size (at least it was last year, this year I am a 0 in some of the styles). HTH! It is really pretty in person. :)

For those looking for some leopard print calf hair flats, who don't want to spend a ridiculous sum of money on the (kind of ugly anyway) J.Crew ones, the Steven by Steve Madden "Madee" loafers were at my local Marshall's today for $49.99... yeah. I was pretty surprised to see them there, and for such a low price. Unfortunately, I found them to run small and the biggest size they had was 10. They had the leopard and black in all sizes ranging from 6-10. Not a bad deal!

ReplyDeleteSometimes I wonder about the measurements from CS -- like on the Garden Lace pencil skirt -- the CS measurements said it had a 29" waist, while I measured 26".

ReplyDeleteTalbots Signature Fit Black rinse button-ankle jeans are on sale for $46.19. They are very skinny fit. I bought a 6P and 8P and went with the 8P. I wear a 4 or 6P in minnies and cafe capris. I love the wash and the buttons at the ankles are cute!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I got Gap's Slim crop plaid pants yesterday in store for $22.79 ($37.99 plus 40% off). They are still full price online. I took a size 4. As someone else already pointed out, they are a possible dupe for the Houndstooth Cafe Capris which are sold out. These are not wool but for me in So. Cal. it works out better.
The Double-breasted skirt from Gap is also a good deal for $29.99 (plus 20% off online today)

ReplyDeleteEma - I read here or somewhere else that Talbots is honoring the 50% off on Sunday as well due to a lot of issues they had w/the promo. Customer service is aware, so you should just be able to ask for the promo, no code needed.
