This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!
If anyone sees the philo eyelet blouse in size 4 in the white color in your store, please e-mail me. TIA mjr001@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteIf anyone sees the
ReplyDeleteSilk taffeta belted short item 20103 please let me know!! ecnobelle at gmail.com
I don't think I will visit this weekend. With new items expected on the website on May 6, I plan to hold onto my rewards card and do some shopping then.
ReplyDeleteOT, I got an email from AT that they are having 30% off everything for students this weekend. You just need the coupon and your student ID. If you would like me to fwd you the coupon, email me at femme55@hotmail.com.
ReplyDeleteOT, but I recall someone was looking for a JC lobster skirt -- there is one on eBay that is white or ivory with black lobsters on it; it's item # 220597868740. Not my auction and I have no interest in it.
ReplyDeleteAlso spied a citrus paisley skirt, which I believe someone else was looking for. HTHs.
I was at Bellevue (WA) last night and there were several tweed jackets in the sale section--I didn't pay much attention at the time, but I just realized it was the Contessa jacket, which I know some of you are looking for. Sorry, didn't check sizes or price.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, the sale was just ratty-looking (IMO) embellished tops and tees.
I had to return something this week so I stopped in. I saw an adorable chambray full skirt which has a wearable length (I am 5'9 for reference) with dark blue embroidery along the bottom. It also has a tassel drawstring closure (Similar to the Cozumel top) I wonder if it will show up online? Other than that I think I am avoiding shopping for awhile. :)
ReplyDeleteOT again,
ReplyDeleteI know several JCAs have mentioned liking cork-ease sandals, and they are very similar to many JC styles right now. Smartbargains.com has a ton of corkease styles on sale for $48-52 today, and there are also usually extra coupons to be found for this website. Just wanted to let you all know!
Sheil-
ReplyDeleteI saw that skirt as well, my store had a coral/pinkish color as well. Very pretty, but I decided a little pricey at $78
I'll be stopping in tonight, just to make a few returns. Picked up the madras button down yesterday (which I am wearing today, love!), there is nothing else that I am interested in picking up.
ReplyDeleteI went yesterday to make some returns. The Liberty cardigan was a disappointment - too thin and unlined. Cozumel tunic was thin and sheer and the shoulders stuck out. Sale section was a bunch of cargo pants in sizes 4 and up @ $19.99, lots of tees which I didn't bother to check, perfect shirts, mostly larger size dresses and some skirts.
ReplyDelete@ Marietta: that madras shirt was cute!
I was at the Mission Viejo store in CA on Tuesday they had a pretty stocked sale section for a change. Two notable items (to me) were as follows:
ReplyDeleteSuper 120s cropped trouser size 10 in espresso and heather flannel $49.99. $118 online (item 15713).
Skimmer pant in soft terracotta (all sizes but size 8) for 44.99 which is a few dollars less than the current online sale price.
Would love to see IRL pics of the in store only madras button down. If someone has photos please share. TIA!
ReplyDeletejcrewphd, I completely agree about the Liberty cardigan. Despite the fact that Target just pushed their line at 1/4 the price, I was excited about the Crew version and had my manager/PS pull it for me the day the new collection hit the floor. It was cheaply thin and the way the cotton lawn was cut/placed on the sweater made it extremely unflattering and boxy in the shoulders. Such a disappointment! I had no problem filling the void with other lovelies, though. ;)
ReplyDelete@Wendy - you can see pictures of the madras shirt over at Summer's blog, Sum Sunshine (http://summerilla.blogspot.com/2010/04/lots-of-new-arrival-reviews.html)
ReplyDeleteI am headed out tomorrow morning. I have the flower mosaic tunic, skimmers in orchid, and ruched v-neck dress on hold to try on. Of course, I'll try on lots of other new goodies as well. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marietta! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI had a quick browse today, and didn't buy anything. I saw a cotton Collection dress in the sale section that was about sixty dollars and came in alpha sizes that I hadn't seen online. I think someone posted that they were looking for it? It's strapless, made of gauzy cotton, comes in light blue (BLU) and light pink (SCA). The top was bandeau-ish, the body was many small ruffles. The style number is 24528, and several sizes in both colors were in stock today at the Ann Arbor store. Hope this helps someone!
ReplyDeleteOT--my catalog just arrived and no special shipping discounts or offers. just curious--is that just for card holders? or 10K club or something?
ReplyDeleteI agree with the other posters about the Liberty cardigan. Talbots had some similar cardigans last year, but with printed silk instead of the Liberty cotton. They were also cute in the catalog and thin, boxy and shapeless IRL
ReplyDeleteI was in today and bought a few things... I love the linen-silk cargo pants they are very flattering. I agree with the others about the Liberty print sweater... although most of the sweaters in the store were very lightweight and pricey.. definitely wait for sales.
ReplyDeleteI bought a pair of the city safari pants. They fit TTS and I didn't think they fit really low on the waist (although I am short waisted). They are a bit rumply because of the linen but look pretty nice overall. The pockets on the back are a bit big but they lie really flat.
ReplyDeleteOnly negative is that the sizing is very inconsistent. I tried on three pairs of the same size and they were all different. If I ordered them online, I would get more than one of each size to get the best fit.
SE Mom,
ReplyDeleteEven the pencil skirts are different in the sizing. I bought two size 10's. One in the lilac and one in the peony print. Both came this week and the lilac one is bigger in the waist....
Sorry, this is OT, but is there JCAs out there that are still waiting for their reward cards? I haven't received it yet!! I'm wondering whether it's time to call CS.
ReplyDeleteWon't be stopping by at JC this weekend. Was there earlier this week and purchased the madras shirt. Can't wait to wear it this weekend. Tried on a few items, but nothing really stood out. It happens all the time...I may end up loving an item that I overlooked at first sight. :)
Thanks!
I went in tonight to my B&M in Beachwood, Oh. The madras shirts were really cute. They definitely stood out to me. I'm getting to the point where all the embellished T's and ruffles are kind of like white noise to me and I've learned to just zone in on what I want. They had all the new Jackie colors, which I really wanted to see. I got the Light Pineapple, which is a very pretty pale yellow. I've been looking for a nice yellow cardi and Light Citron was too much yellow! Light Pool is also beautiful, just the perfect light blue.
ReplyDeleteThe Sequin Stripe Henley Tank (in gray & tan) is $68 in stores but only $59 online.
ReplyDeletenewyork0311,
ReplyDeleteI just got my rewards card today. Be sure to check the space under your card, mine has a free shipping code on it. HTH!
Just noticed that a few items I ordered earlier in the week when the 20% promo started are back to full price? Crewcuts Peony Flip Flops- were on promo for $9.99 +20% and now are back to $16.50. Also the Metallic beacon tote in pale gold was $199 + 20% and now is back to $298. I noticed this as I was going to order another pair of the flip flops for my daughter as she LOVES them and realized that the price has gone up $10 since I purchased them on 4/27 Why does J crew do this? arghh
ReplyDeleteTwiga, I hate the random price ups. Some of the Jackie colors, like buff pink, were 29.99 on sale months ago, before any percentages off, so they were like 20 flat after. Now they're 39.99 before percent off. Same colors, much later, more expensive. What gives?
ReplyDeleteAmy, good to hear the light blue in the Jackies is so pretty! I'm still shaking my fist and asking "why" about missing the blue Celosia. The Celosia had two seasons, and it looks like the bling button cardi is getting another too. Does anyone know what other simple cardis will do repeat seasons?
Hey JenLyn --
ReplyDeleteDid you try on the sequin henley? How is the fit? Is it as cute as it looks online?

ReplyDeleteMy rewards card did not come with a free ship code. Maybe you need a really big amount to earn one like the normal $150 for free shipping??
ReplyDeleteNewYork0311,
Sometimes it takes a while for the rewards cards to get to everyone. When I lived in the Midwest it seemed mine took over a week longer than most...maybe they go out in seperate batches. I would not panic yet.
Waiting for new arrivals, and for my other 20% orders to arrive to see how the ridealongs work out.
ReplyDeleteShouldn't be long with the speedy shipping this time. My popback Ryder Satchel in Golden Amber arrived in 2 days AND in perfect condition! Sad that I would be surprised by that, but I was!
I got my 20% orders yesterday and they all went back. I was sad to see that the chiffon forget me not was incredibly thin and the flowers way too delicate. I had the feeling that it was not going to survive the first wash. Same with the other cardis. Way too thin (tissue paper thin).

ReplyDeleteMight visit one this afternoon, but what I'm really excited about this weekend is the package I just got from my favorite guy in brown: The Ann Taylor Vintage Lace Dress. Oh, but it is pretty. Just absolutely darling.
ReplyDeleteBeen a great week for deliveries: First the Dauphine tweed jacket, then the lace dress :-)
OT:
ReplyDeleteAnyone have a 40% off Banana code they aren't using? Please email jcrewjunkie @ sbcglobal.net TIA!!
I've got the Vintage Bateau top in striped pink in Small if anyone is will to swap for an Extra-small!
ReplyDeleteemail me @ quyen.t.pham@gmail.com
I've got the hot pink striped Vintage Bateau top in small if anyone is willing to swap for their xs in the same color. email me at quyen.t.pham@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI tried on several items today. Some were likes, some were loves, and one was horrible! :) I liked the cayla ruffled shell (white). TTS I will hopefully pick this up on sale. I liked the flower embroidered tunic (gray) but didn't love it. The sleeves make my broad shoulders look even broader. That said, I'd still pick this up on sale. Sized down. I hated the impressionist cami. What were they thinking! The style of it is terrible. I have no idea what shape can wear this. The sa in the dressing room said she hadn't liked it on anyone yet. My guess is that it quickly goes on sale. Sized down. I liked the morning glory art tee (salt). It's a little sheer in the back. I'll pick this one up on sale as well. TTS The ruched v-neck dress didn't work on my larger chest and broad shoulders. :( TTS I saw the ombre paillete cardi and don't like IRL. Didn't do anything for me. I liked the sequin stripe henley tank. TTS This is another piece I'd like on sale. I loved the bead strand tee (not online). It was way too much for a tee, but I bought it anyway. It's neon coral and has purple and gold beading around one side of the neck. Not a good description, sorry. TTS I also bought the skimmers in orchid shadow. I love these pants and this is a great color - kind of a gray dusky purple. I plan to wear it with the bead strand tee for now. I also bought the watercolor garden pencil skirt. Sized down.
ReplyDeleteBtw, the skimmers are $10 off in stores even though there's no sign stating that fact.
Thank you rynetta & genny for your feedback on reward cards!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't going to go in, but I had a return to make at Anthropologie and J. Crew is just below it, so I stopped in.
ReplyDeleteThere are plenty of pastiche, garden and peony pencil skirts on the sale rack, and about 4 of the contrast pencil skirts. There are also a fair number of peony and pastiche cardigans. There were tons of Grand Ruffle shells and I don't know why these are languishing on the sale rack because they're great. I have it in three colors. Every size and color was there. Quite a few palmera camis. Lots of utility jackets (not sure the style name) with a little neck ruffle in army green and light tan.
I picked up a vintage zebra broadcloth tunic. I wanted one during the 20% off sale promo and couldn't snag my size. It was the only one in the store and rang up lower than the tag price so I was happy.
Saving my rewards card for the new items that hit the website May 6.
If anyone sees Ruffle Jersey Dress can you tell me if it runs big? Thanks. I love this dress and I think I'm going to snatch it but I have stuck myself with so many casual jcrew dresses because they don't have petites or size 0 and I'm too lazy to return.
ReplyDeleteI was at the store this afternoon (despite just saying I couldn't shop anymore) and found the Zipper Denim minnie's on sale for $39.99-style27080. Online they are under new arrivals for FP-$98! Glad I scooped them up. Tried them on and LOVE them. Truth be told-I'm wearing them already!!!
ReplyDeleteoooh, and a lot of Alice Ruffled Tanks in Warm Fig, Pearl and Faded black for $29.99 vs. $49.99 online. I picked one up for me and one for my mom at that price!
ReplyDeleteI'd also be interested in hearing about the ruffle jersey dress and/or seeing some IRL pics! It is so cute.
ReplyDeleteI went to the outlet today and saw a few items of interest, a white eyelet skirt (short), the navy blue eyelet pencil skirt from last year, cotton bling button cardigans--just like the ones that are currently in stores now but in different colors and stripes, pants just like minnies except called "the winnie", and they also have the monterey skirts from last year in all the same prints and colors.
ReplyDeleteI called Customer Service and they claimed that the actual chest measurement of the Pretty Ruffled Dress is 32" which should be okay for me so I am going to snatch one up. I'll let you know what I think. Once of the reasons I was so hesitant is I guess it's all viscose so it will be soft but completely unshrinkable. I count on shrinkage if I can't get a 0p or a pxs. I know this will make a lot of you shudder but J. Crew cashmere always runs too big for me so when I get any sweater I wash it in the washer and then dry it on hot until bone dry. I have to say that one thing I love about JC cashmere is that it is still soft and beautiful after this harsh treatment. It is really lovely stuff. I must own 50 JC Cashmere sweaters. How is it that they still get me every year by heathering this color or brightening another one? This year I love Sepia and Lagoon. They've just got my number.
ReplyDeleteI did a ton of direct returns today and had the most delightful SA helping me . . . what a nice change!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to put in a positive word about the Liberty Floral Daze cardigan. I got one on the spot. So it seems a matter of taste. The thinness didn't bother me, and the print was exquisite. I thought it was well worth FP (but then again, I'm not buying anything else from this rollout).
A great weekend to all!
I have a 15% off code for Boden if anyone would like it. It is a one time use code.
ReplyDeletemrsnonia@aol.com
Has anyone bought or tried on the blakely wrap blouse? I'm a petite girl and often have trouble with fit at JCrew, so I'd appreciate any insight into how big (or not big) this is running. Thanks in advance!
ReplyDeleteLaura
Corry,
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your report on the sweater. I ordered it this week and should get it Monday...with all the negative reports it is nice to a one positive one. I don't know how I will like it but I just wanted to see it in person.
PS
ReplyDeleteCory and others....how many items have you ever made in a direct return at one time? I have a lot and am wondering....
savvyshopper: Ebay item 390180548572 for a size 4 white philo blouse. I have bought from this seller before and they are reputable and very fast shipping. Buy it now $39.99 free shipping.
ReplyDeleteThis is totally OT, but I purchased a cashmere men's hoodie during the 20% off sale and I am happy to report an improvement in JCrew's cashmere, at least in that style. It is substantial, soft and does not appear to pill even after one entire day wearing it. I'll keep my fingers crossed...
ReplyDeleteDropped by the outlet store today... saw many of last year versions merchandise and even some of the current patterns like the neopolitan in a cotton cami style and a similar style to the flower mosaic embroidery tunic.
ReplyDeleteThere are different versions of the frances cami - solids and 4 different printed patterns. Bought the printed ones and they're $39.99 (orig $69.50)! There's also this same version of the brynn poplin dress from last year. The printed version is super cute! There are a few of very nice printed shirts... also some patterns are exactly the same as last year. They have the famous dotted dress from last spring; it seems to be very famous too at the outlet as most sizes are already gone. Jewelry & belts are 30% off. The sale section is extra 40% off if I remember it correctly...
I have taken picture of what I bought... I thought I'd share it with you guys since many of us don't go to outlet often or live near one... overall I'd say I'm quite impressed with what I saw during this trip to the outlet.
http://picasaweb.google.com/Jeancintamu/JCrewOutlet#
Does anyone have a free shipping code? I saw a pop back but shipping is too much... TIA!
ReplyDeleteJean - Thank you for sharing your pics of your outlet purchases. I wish I could get to the outlet easily bc your description of their current offerings kind of made me want to sit through public transportation hell in order to see the stuff in person (and it would involve some serious use of public transpo to get from NYC to the nearest outlet for me). Did they have the pink burnout floral pattern in black? I missed out on that print in a dress last year.
ReplyDeleteI went to the Rockefeller Center store yesterday and, while that location is super crowded, they had everything including the cutest cashmere hot pink striped sweater with three buttons on the shoulder. It also came in a navy stripe. I totally would have bought it but it's JCrew cashmere and still full price and I don't buy JCrew cashmere without a % off or on sale. So cute though.
I found a bunch of cute new summer items at the concept store in paramus nj that aren't on the website! I provided product ids and pictures here: http://isnotfashion.blogspot.com/2010/05/jcrew-summer-purchases.html
ReplyDeleteStephanie- I ordered that stripped cashmere sweater on the redphone yesterday! Glad it looks really cute in person!
ReplyDeleteCari - I may have to ignore my JCrew cashmere rule for this one. It is too cute and I'm obsessed w/ neon pink right now. Can't wait to see your blog review.
ReplyDeleteSnuck in a visit yesterday afternoon - I wonder if Jenna & Mickey & Co. ever look at sale sections, see how many sad-looking tees are stuffed in there, and wonder why they keep contributing so copiously to an excess of unfinished-hem, super-thin tees ... Saw a watercolor leopard skirt, size 10 or 12, on sale, as well as lots of shorts & the camo jackets.
ReplyDeleteWasn't overwhelmed by any of the new offerings. The one item that had caught my attention in the catalogue, the impressionist skirt, was not for me IRL - don't like the colors used at all.
I bought the coral embroidered gauzy skirt for $74.50 that is not yet online -- yes a bit pricey, but really pretty and so easy to wear. Also bought the floral antibes skirt (24653) in a color not online -- burnt orange with black-outlined pink flowers and a pink lining -- so cute. This skirt is VERY short, however (and I am only 5'2"!) so I sized up to a small (I am a 0 or 00) so I can pull it down a little lower. Also a very comfy, easy to wear skirt.
ReplyDeleteHi - There is a silk wool watercolor leopard skirt in size 6 on sale for 99.99 at the Willowgrove PA store. I can't remember for sure but I think someone was looking for one.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteHi Stephanie, I don't think they have the black color version of the floral pattern. They do have the solid black though. They have a lot of dresses from last year...
ReplyDeleteYea, I hear ya... I know Port Authority has buses going to the Woodbury Outlet. If you already know what you want to get, you can always call up the store to place the charge-send order but of course it'd be great to check out all the stuff in the store in person. I think it's worth the trip especially with the discounts that are currently going on... I was just surprised that the frances cami is $39.99 and you still can use your educator/student discount on top of that! I don't think the dresses are on sale... as I bought mine at full price - $98.00. Hope this helps! :)
Jean, does the outlet have a black frances? And, do they fit like the b&m frances? I don't live close enough to an outlet to make a trip, but I would be willing to call and have one sent out. TIA
ReplyDeleteHi math teacher, yes I do remember seeing the solid black color frances cami! I bought the frances from the catalog in size P0 and bought size 0 at the outlet... it fits me and not too big. I'd think the sizing is about the same or slightly smaller. They also have the solid plum color for the frances cami. I went to the Woodbury Outlet in NY and they seem to have all the sizes... you can try calling them.
ReplyDeleteJean - I have done charge sends in the past but I'm also guilty of taking NJ transit and then a shuttle (didn't know about the PA bus then) to Woodbury Commons just to grab the abstract print Victoria as I had to make sure the SA and I were talking about the same cami. We weren't so I'm glad I went and could get the correct one myself. Plus I got to check out all the other items and discounts and buy even more! I think I'm going to have to make a trip bc the deals are pretty good right now. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jean.
ReplyDeleteGenny - last week I made a large annoying return and the SA was very nice about it. It was two orders, but it was 4 shipments so he had to do each invoice separately. It was one bag - the Gabby satchel in seahorse beige - I did not like the color and I think 6 tees.
ReplyDeleteGirlification of Jules,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reply. I have lots to return and am going to feel bad for anyone behind me:) so was just wondering what quantity others return. I think I will have 5 orders with several items from each to return this weekend. I only get to the store about once every 2-3 months.....
