This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!
A few of the umbrellas were marked to $14.99 in-store. A couple of the watercolor and the vintage zebra. I purchased the zebra umbrella and on the receipt it said mismarked ticket, so perhaps it wasn't supposed to be on sale.
ReplyDeleteFlip flops are 20% off if you buy 2 or more pair. I'm not messing with any of the ones that have the chiffon flowers. However, the beaded ones are so sparkly and pretty.
I've heard new arrivals are in as of Monday or Wed. I think the teams come in on Mon and Tue nights, but perhaps it depends on the store. My core store said Wed.
New Arrivals will be in my store on Monday. I'm going to try to head over next week so I won't be going in this weekend.
ReplyDeleteBummer...I was hoping new arrivals would be in stores this weekend since I'll actually be able to go to one on Saturday. Anyone in Charleston have reports on sales/inventory at the King St. store?
ReplyDeleteI'll be going next weekend to check out new arrivals.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
I was told that my store would have everything out Monday night. Jean- thanks for the heads up the Blakely I was able to snag for $99!! hoping it fits:)
ReplyDeleteSlightly off topic....
Wanted to share a fabulous and unexpected e-mail I just got from Boden (Probably my #2 or #3 favorite retailer- esp. for my kids) I placed an order a week or so ago and here is the e-mail I just received:
___________________________________
We're writing to apologise to you for the delay to your Boden order.
Unfortunately our excuse is the geological equivalent of 'The dog ate my homework'. Because, as you may have heard, a cloud of volcanic ash recently grounded all flights in and out of the UK and northern Europe. Although flights are now getting back to normal there is still a shipping backlog to clear, and while there wasn't much we could do about the volcano itself, we're very sorry that we weren't able to stop it affecting your order.
After all, nothing should come between you and your Summer wardrobe, least of all an Icelandic volcano with an unpronounceable name.
So to thank you for your patience, we'd like to credit your account with $20 to use against future purchases (and there's no expiry date to worry about).
Now that flights have resumed we're working overtime to deliver your parcel. To make life simpler we've slapped on FREE 'VOLCANIC' RETURNS on anything returned from this order. So if you're not completely satisfied when your order arrives, please remember to take advantage of this 'emergency' offer.
Yours sincerely, and with big apologies once again.

J crew take note! This is some serious customer service:) I received 3 yes 3 e-mails from J crew this week about an order I placed last week and 3 of the 5 items ordered are no longer available. All J crew sent me was an e-mail:(
ahhhhh I missed the blakely dress again! And they finally had my size...if a 0 doesn't work for anyone please let me know!
ReplyDeleteKate Spade 30% coupon on anything- 2 days only:

Twiga,
ReplyDeleteYes, Boden's customer service is top notch. I love their clothes and that email you got from them is proof in the pudding!
Twiga: Thanks for sharing that witty and thoughtful Boden customer service email. That's what quality customer service sounds like.
ReplyDeleteAll I get from JCrew is the "Sorry...we wish we had enough" email. Not even Free shipping offer (w/ no minimum) or a gift card. Even stingy BR will send me a 10% off next order when they have to cancel an order.
Sorry Alexis for the off topic.
I adore Boden. Haven't found anything great last 2 or so years (I wish they'd make Mini Boden in adult sizes, ha) but have some GORGEOUS items from 2007-2008 that I've worn literally hundreds of times. They wear SO well and near everything is shockingly flattering. And of course their customer service is wonderful, the website and their emails are so entertaining.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of sales, anyone aware of the store Jeremy's in Berkeley? My favorite. They sell samples and remainders of several great brands but LOTS of J. Crew. Practically all my favorite items are from there. I wish I could get there more than once or twice a year.
Arghh, "the dog ate my post", literally.. it just disappeared..have to retype anew
ReplyDelete-Appliqué flower art tee $29.99
-Metallic dot scarf and tie-die one $29.99
-Tissue garland camis are $19.99
-Merino etehreal cardis are $39.99
Has anyone tried on or seen/felt the new favorite tank? The online description saying new thinner knit. It sounds worse not better....
ReplyDeleteI really like the ones I have bought from years and years past and don't need one but always like to look at the new colors...and maybe pick one up on super sale end of season.
I received a card from my store letting me know new arrivals would be in the store on Wednesday, so no need to go in this weekend. I did buy quite a bit off the website yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see anything in the new arrivals that I had to see in person so I won't be heading to a store anytime soon. Was a disappointing roll out as others have said yesterday....
ReplyDeleteAppGal, new arrivals are due in Charleston on Monday. Sorry. :( And, my favorite ps Billy, is out of town this weekend. If you go in and you need/want help, ask for Ashley. She usually works on Saturdays and is really great to work with. As for inventory, I haven't been since last Saturday so I have no idea what they still have, but it was well stocked last weekend. Hope you have a great visit! The weather is suppose to be great tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteNo B&M for me here in Canada but I did receive my Jaipur linen tunic today. PS was so helpful in tracking it down for me but I wish I would have gone with my usual size 10 instead of letting her talk me into "it's a tunic so you should SD to an 8" because it is tight across the bust. This is SO online so I'm loathe to return it and may end up having it let out just a little. Or... anyone have a size 10 they would like to trade for a 8?
ReplyDeleteOT-Questionable item:
ReplyDeleteLightweight cotton beach pant item 26554 in white...can you say THIN?
If you wear a thong..you see it, if you wear nothing you see..lots of skin. The model is definitely wearing nothing. Nice pocket-lining, though=/
These should end up about a $1.00 and languishing in Final Sale or perhaps they will run a "gift with purchase" and insert one pair (whether you want them or not) with every pant bought until they are gone:)
Hello! I was at the Indianapolis B&M store today 317-848-2739. I quickly perused the sales racks as well as the regular floor. I was told the newest rollout will be out on Monday.
ReplyDeleteHere are some things I saw that I think others may be looking for:
NOT ON SALE:
Jaipur mini skirt only saw 1 left in size 10.
I also saw 3 jaipur tunic dresses left in small sizes.
There were still at least 5-7 each of the grey and hot pink striped bateau 3/4 sleeve tees. Didn't look at the sizes, though.
SALE:
1. Blossom jackets, green utility jackets of some sort (caprice??), watercolor pastiche shorts, cargo drawstring pants, denim minnies.
2. Navy and neon accent (pink or orange??) string bikinis. I only saw size small and medium bikini bottoms and size small triangle string tops.
3. There is only one Celosia aqua cardigan left in size XS. It is located in the room just past the front registers but before the shoes. It's the small room on the left side if your back is to the entrance to the store. Inside that small room area, there are racks to the left of the table of sweaters. Top rack, next to fitting area doorway. There were a whole batch of other similar colored aqua sweaters that were not Celosias. But if you have the SA look about 5 inches to the left of those other sale aqua sweaters, she/he should see it. Sorry for the lengthy explanation. Since there's only 1 left it may be difficult to find.
4. There were two contessa jackets left in small sizes (hmm, can't remember if it was 0, 2 or 4, though).
5. There were ballet flats recently put on sale that look like the Sayre but the ones I saw in the sale section were either gold or beige. They had a bow and fringe. Again, I was trying to see everything quickly.
6. Umbrellas: watercolor and stained glass for $14.99.
7. Tons of headbands some as low as $4.99, tie dye scarves and jewelry in accessory sales area.
8. Watercolor striped (zebra?) tunic (maybe 2-3 left for $49.99).
9. Off white canvas jacket for $119.99 only two left. They had huge buttons, but I don't know the style name and I don't recall the sizes.
There were many more sale items, but too much to remember in terms of sizes so I just tried to memorize things I've read people are looking for.
Best wishes.
Does anyone have any thoughts on the silk Frances cami? I am thinking I love the Orchid Shadow color - have seen all the IRL pics and reviews on the blogs - but am wondering if it's worth the $. Any thoughts?
ReplyDeleteHad to return something to the South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa CA store today and ended up picking up a Sunshine Peony skirt at the sale price. They had quite a few left of these and the watercolor floral pastiche skirt. Lots and lots of sale tees that have been languishing in that store for a while. There's also a whole table of denim minnies with zippers at the ankles and I believe some of the faded black minnies.
ReplyDeleteEarlier today, Genny asked about favorite tanks, and that reminded me of something I've meant to post.
ReplyDeleteI bought an organic cotton tank, white with thin stripes of black and a vertical seam in black down each side, and I love it. It puts the fave tanks to shame. It's ribbed and in a slightly heavier fabric than the fave tank and looks great. There were solids too.
And it was $3.50 at Wal-Mart. I can't tell you how great it looks! And the price!
OT, but I have a Liberty of London Isis print (peacock) bathing suit in xs. Unfortunately too small for me :( if anyone is interested email me asap at musingsonmtn@gmail. com. $35 + $5 shipping.
ReplyDeleteOops... Forgot to mention that the bathing suit is LOL Target and is nwt.

ReplyDeleteSnagged a navy spring Celosia for $69.99~ very excited!
ReplyDeleteStopped at the Crewlet in Jeffersonville, OH today. Didn't spend a ton of time but saw:
ReplyDelete-Jackies in tons of colors, for $39.50
-Mint deco dot pencil skirt for $74.50
-Frances silk tops for 25% off $69.50
-Perfect fit T's in v neck and crew neck for $8.99
-Perfect shirts for $54.50
-Saturday pants in all the standard neutrals plus a pretty grass green for $44.50, I think?
-Lots of Sanur dresses, can't remember how much
I ended up with a cute pair of capris in this WILD print of purple, fuschia, pink, turquoise and yellow.
I wish they would have crewcuts stuff in the Crewlets!
Amy, some of the outlets do carry crewcuts. There's even a crewcuts outlet in Orlando! Wish I had a JC outlet of any kind close to me.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone sees an XS in the pink stripe bateau neck top in their store, please put it on hold for Martha. I bought a S (my usual J Crew size) and now I realize it is too big. CS has been no help trying to find one for me :(
ReplyDeleteMartha,
ReplyDeleteCall Doris at Galleria- Ft. Lauderdale, Fl - That is my PS. I just returned it because it was too small. I want the size small. Please tell me where you returned yours! Thanks!
thanks Milljcrew, I just called and spoke with Doris and she didn't seem to know what I was talking about - they don't have it in an XS. Maybe someone already bought it. When did you return it?
ReplyDeleteMartha - try calling the Walnut Creek, Emeryville and Pleasanton stores. All in California. I definitely saw them in Pleasanton the other day. This is a regular priced item so you can always use We Will Find It For You.
ReplyDeletethanks Gigiofca, I love your blog too! I called to request a We will find it for you on Wednesday and have not heard back from them.
ReplyDeleteMartha - Thanks! If you decide to call the CA stores, ask them to please check the displays. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gigiofca, I will try to call later. Damn time difference. Now I am off to my son's little league game! :)
ReplyDeleteHi JCAs: This is totally OT but has anyone ordered any of the spring line items from Talbots? I have never shopped there before and am wondering about fit and quality.
ReplyDeletePS. they have a great promo on right now!
stella - I reviewed the Talbot's floral pencil skirt in this post. The floral cardigan is also pretty. Their white jeans are pretty good, too. I ended up not getting them, but I liked the fit.
ReplyDeleteThanks gigiofca!
ReplyDeleteI'm tempted to look for the $39.50 jackies in NYC that Amy saw in OH, but I really don't need them. I was just looking in my closet at all the beautiful cardis I already own. I have to keep reminding myself that there are only seven days in a week and I can't wear an unlimited supply of clothes.
ReplyDeleteStella, I find that I need to size down in most Talbots styles. I recently bought several lightweight cashmere twin sets. They're on clearance plus I was able to use the 20% off "best customer" code that's going on right now. I LOVE them. The fit is similar to a jackie cardigan. They'll be my go-to for work this summer on all but the hottest days. Here's a link to the cardi: Talbot's cashmere cardigan
I also lost a few pounds in the past month and now I fit in some of the JCrew 07/08 shirts that have been languishing in a box under my bed. Hooray! Another 5 pounds and the BR fitted shirts will be back in closet. One more reason why I don't need more new clothes.
Stella, this spring I have ordered from Talbots for the first time ever! Many of their new offerings are very cute. Contrary to my concerns, I was not sized out in some items. Of the items I've seen in person or purchased, I'd say quality is as good or better than JC. The real comparison test of Talbot's quality IMO would be the cashmere, because cashmere is my main beef with JC quality.
ReplyDeleteJeanne and Hexicon - thank you so much for the feedback. I am going to go ahead and place an order. I'm a 0P with JC, so I will try the 0P with Talbots. They really have some beautiful pieces and I'm happy to hear about their quality!
ReplyDeleteI'm in search of the Applique Flower Art (25138) in sz Small or Medium. If you see one at your B&M please let me know. Thanks so much!
ReplyDeletejcrewphd @ gmail.com
Jeanne,
ReplyDeleteExcellent post. I too just need to walk in my closet and look around and all the beautiful things I own and think the same: only 7 days in a weeks and the seasons change and sometimes (well--mainly always) I never get to everything to wear! I too need to loose about 5 lbs. to fit into some of my JCrew skirts of old instead of buying new:)
Martha,
ReplyDeleteI returned it Thursday but I noticed it was the last one. It is probably gone. Sorry :(
I went to my B&M for the first time in months today. It's the one in Beachwood, OH.
ReplyDeleteI got the dizzy floral frankie mini dress... in pearl, I guess. At first I was like, UM, NO THANKS. But I tried it on and it was pretty cute. I'm 5'9" and it is NOT inappropriately short on me like it is on the model in case anyone was worried about that. But alas, I will not be wearing it with a long cardigan and strappy heels, either. I never ever buy full price but this seemed like a reasonable price for basically an entire outfit, especially with 15% student discount.
There were approximately 100 sale t-shirts. I hate their t-shirts so I didn't look at the prices. But there were alot.
The bright seaside color of the jackie cardigans was on sale for $39.99, I found one in a medium folded on the table with the full price jackies. Score. There was also one XS.
They had lots of ripstop cargo pants for $19.99. Not my style normally, but I took a chance on a pair in dark slate.
They had lots of the flower printed pencil skirts, and other skirts.
Really too much to remember!
Cute pair of the abby toe cap ballet flats in size 10 for $79.99, I resisted.
Lots of great items on sale at Crewcuts today (regular price on-line). Some really cute new stuff too. There is this unbelievable sequin tank that is store only right now. You small ladies who can fit into a size 14 should seriously check it out. Maybe the new Crewcuts will be on-line soon.
ReplyDeleteMy mom is a sweetheart and picked me up the Alpansia Swiss Dot blouse for $19.99--it's online for $49.99...yikes!
ReplyDeleteWish I had access to the store as it seems like things go on sale for lots cheaper there than online!
Do all stores selling Merino Ethereal cardigans for $39.99? If so which ones? I would love to get a price match :)
ReplyDeleteAlso anyone seen Perfect Fit Cascade tee in XS at their JCrew? Looking for White or Plum.

ReplyDeleteGot pair of matchstick jeans for $29.99 in the store! I wanted another pair of these jeans in larger size and found 'em!!
ReplyDeleteI popped into the Lake Grove, NY store this pm. Bought a hand cut flower art tee - still $29.99 at the store but they matched the online price for me.
ReplyDeleteTried on a sunshine peony skirt ($64.99), Watercolor garden pencil skirt ($69.99), Zoey blazer ($59.99 - $10 more than online), Medallion foulard skimmers ($49.99) - all sizes 0. Also tried Corwin cardi ($39.99) in XS and S - they have lots in various sizes and colors.
Also saw: zebra shorts, black blossom shorts, chambray popovers, tuxedo shirts, striped 3/4 sleeve shirts, and lots and lots of painted / embellished tees. The place was quite packed so I didn't linger.
Karen,
ReplyDeleteGreat price on the blouse. I know what you mean...I only get to my local store about once every 2-3 months so I miss out on some of the "deals" and buy online (at the higher prices) more often.
i am looking for some of the shorts. i would like a few of the bermudas. My southpark store did not have a great selection..and i am hoping they will be marked down soon if not already!

Stella - Sorry, I know I'm a little late with the Talbots feedback, but I just received my first order today.
ReplyDeleteA 3/4 slv cotton tee ran a full size large, as did a silk/cotton cardie. I'm very pleased with the quality of both.
I also bought a spring weight cashmere l/s sweater. The cashmere is gorgeous, more substantial than Crew's. It ran 1/2 large.
