J.Crew Email: SPRING SALE: new styles added

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Marietta & Desert Flower, who shared the following email.

J.Crew announces that the Sale section (click here to shop online) includes additional new styles! I did notice a few items were included. Although there was not a big update today (or maybe I just missed it).

I plan on holding off. It just feels like another "percent off sale" promotion will come around soon, and so I will wait until then.

Will you be checking out the Sale section? Are there any items you are interested in? If so, please share. :)

  3. The zebra cardigan I paid full price for last Thursday is going back.

  4. They probably did all the markdowns in order to get ready for the new arrivals that should be online soon.

  5. i picked up the garrison tote.

i have been dying to see a review of it but haven't had much luck. they knocked 50 bucks off the price, so thought i'd give it a shot.

  6. The honeyclover ruffled romance perfect shirt is marked down. I bought it fairly recently, at full price but using a 20% off coupon. I'm tempted to reorder and return to get the lower price, but I'm just too lazy. It is a lovely shirt, with nice details on the cuffs and collar.

  7. Do the stores price match the online sales?

  8. Caprice Jacket is on sale in all colors now. I am considering getting it, but I think Alexis is right and I should wait for the %off.

  9. I ordered a necklace & dress a few days ago that just went on sale & just called for a price adjustment on those badboys. SA Valerie was a peach to work with.

  10. Leader Girl, I'd print out the web page or a mock check out just in case, but they should price adjust for online at the B&M.

Still holding firm on my ban. I did get my waitlisted merino larkspur cardi in pale blossom yesterday, so I'm not entirely JC-free. (Withdrawal is making me a bit twitchy, though.) The cardi is really pretty, and I like the thicker hem and cuffs and the full sleeves. The flowers are sewn to the knit, rather than embroidered into the weave, so it may prove to be a bit fragile. I had been worried that the strips of silk that make up the flowers would be just poked through the sweater, since it looked a bit like last spring's Gondry tee, but luckily that's not the case. The darker color in the embellishment is less brown and more mauve/light raisin than it looked on my computer, but it looks perfect with the light pink of the sweater. I noticed it's down to 49.99 on the website, luckily I got it for 48 + chance with the last percent off, so I don't feel cheated!

  11. SJs mommy: I'm holding out for a % off promo before ordering the Caprice jacket, also!

Got my eye on the cashmere rolled sleeve sweater as well..

  12. I caved and ordered two pretty skirts I had to try: the Sunshine Peony Pencil and the Watercolor Garden Pencil. I also snagged one of those vintage slub v-neck tees I've been eyeing, to get the free shipping. I'm not sure how the skirts will look on a curvy gal, but I had to try.

  13. I plan to wait for extra % off. I'm glad to see more mark downs though!

  14. OT: for those of us craving longer, swishy skirts:) that are fitted at the hip and then flare out--perfect for summer and staying cool--I just got my Boden summer skirts that I preordered and they are wonderful:) Also, they come in regular length and talls. Beautifully made and fit very well. Plus, free shipping and free returns and 20% off at the time I ordered made it risk free.

  15. I have been raking in the deals of late and am sitting here right now, sleeves scrunched, in my new sale priced drapey-wool McKenzie jacket, which I bought a few weeks ago for $59.99 (reduced from $198). Love it! It's comfortable and lovely. I also bought the Delancey camo pants reduced from $85 to $49.99. Haven't gotten them yet, though. I also ordered the weekend sweatpants in the only decent color they had left: natural- and I intend to wear them to yoga. I wish there were more nice tops on sale. I don't think $35 for a t-shirt is reasonable.

  16. The American Observer,
I agree with you on the tee price. I have trouble paying anymore than $15 for a tee shirt no matter how embellished it is!

  17. Also, just noticed some cute tee outfits from JCrew on Slastena's blog and she mentions the chains falling off one after two wears so for the poor quality JCrew's tees are recently-- not worth the price!

  19. American Observer --> I've been wanting a black blazer and had my eye on the Mackenzie and the Studio versions... After reading your comments about it I bit the bullet on the Mackenzie! Great price too...

  20. I ordered the Frances Stripe ruffled tuxedo shirt in Hazel Blue in a P4 and 4 just to be safe and the Ribbon Raindrop Necklace to get free shipping :'(.

  21. Anyone have experience (ie. quality and fit) of the Gabriella dress?

  22. JenLynn, I bought the in-store only slate color when they first came out. I think it's pretty TTS, maybe size down if you're on the smaller end of a size. I bought an XS, and I'm normally an XS/S in knit dresses at JC. It's a substantial knit and drapes nicely.

  23. I am going to try and wait for a % off, unless my items start selling. I really want the forget-me-knot cardi and if my b&m still had it in stock, I'd get it now. Instead, I'll wait for a % off online and keep my fingers crossed.

  24. math teacher,
I bought the cardigan online when it first came out in the blue (my store only carried the pink I found later so I am glad I ordered online.) It is really pretty and I have worn it at least once a week since it came out...Hope you get one. I would love to get the pink too if it got marked down further.

  25. Oh, the flora paisley lily shorts are marked down to $39.99 now! I just ordered these Sunday with the short promo for $47ish, darn.

  26. Summer, I waited forever to try it on b/c I wasn't interested. My b&m only had the pink and I waited until there was only 1 left (in my size) to try it on. Surprisingly I loved it! Now that it's gone on sale, it's gone in my b&m. Of course. I called my ps and he's going to visit his sister and said if her b&m has it, that he'd pick it up for me. Awww, how sweet! I hope they have it so I don't have to pay shipping. I'd order it now, but hate the extra cost.

  27. Someone mentioned quality issues with t-shirts, so thought I would mention that Eddie Bauer has a bunch of nice embellished t-shirts this season. Saw some styles in store that are not on-line. EB quality has always been great, I think. Some of the t-shirt styles come in both petite and tall as well as regular sizing.

  28. OMG...where do I start. currently my shopping bag has:

    2 Ruffled spring Celosia cardi(s)
    1 Palmera ruffle cami
    1 Flora paisley lily short
    1 Sunshine peony pencil skirt
    1 Lone leather heels
    1 Merino larkspur cardigan

But like everyone else, I'm waiting for a coupan!! yay!

BTW, can anyone provide a review on the sunchion peony pencil skirt and the lone leather heels?

  29. was just in the B&M. There were new colors in the "vintage slub v-neck tee", several new fabrics in that romper (I think it's silly but my niece will think it's "super cute") The chambray blazer is not on sale in the shop, only online.

  30. FYI, the Sunshine Peony Skirt was also marked down in the store this afternoon.

  31. Hi JCA's - I need some sizing suggetions. I took a 4 in the Frances, but was wondering if the Palmera cami was fitting true to size or should I size down. TIA for all your help. Again, thanks so much! :)

  32. Jcrewcrazy - I tried on the Palmera in this post. I liked the 2 in that and in the Frances. I tried on the Frances in this post. I would say go w/4 in the Palmera.

  33. Stacy - I'd love to hear what you think of the Garrison tote when it arrives!
