J.Crew Email: ENDS TOMORROW. EXTRA 20% OFF spring sale & FREE SHIPPING.

"Thanks!" to Marietta, who shared with us the latest news from J.Crew this morning.

J.Crew is reminding us that customers can take 20% off any purchase from the Sale section {no minimum} and get free shipping {on $150+} with promo code EXTRA20. This offer expires tomorrow, 4/30/10.

From the comments in Tuesday's "Extra 20% Off Sale Is Here {wahoo!}" post, it sounds like many of you are snagging some great items at great prices. Congrats! :)

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? Are there any sale items you are interested in getting?

  1. I just bit. Could not help myself. Got my son a cute tee (it's funny, he LOVES the Crewcuts tees because they're so soft!) and the grand ruffle sjell (chalk) and another linen-cotton henley for myself. So far I love all the summer tees I've bought. I'm still hoping my B&M might have an extra % off this weekend and maybe I can get one of the pencil skirts I've been eyeing (the sunshine peony or the lavender floral). :-)

  2. Yes, I bit and got some Crewcuts for my daughter. I ordered very early Tuesday morning when the promo started and her items arrived yesterday! Super fast shipping!

  3. I noticed today that there are a lot of sale items that aren't listed in the sale section...I mean if you search say, 'cashmere', you'll find the crewneck cashmere tee in many colors, all on sale! This is just one example of many. Do they do this on purpose? It's annoying!

  5. In the "Bags" section, it appears that the Grommet Purse is 1/2 the size of the Beacon Purse and they are actually the same size.

If someone is looking for a great pop of Summer color, I highly recommend the Grommet Purse on sale- It's bigger than it looks and beautiful. I love mine!

  6. In case anyone is interested there's a Watercolor Pastiche Perfect Shirt, size 6 on ebay. I am NOT the seller, and have no interest in this.

  7. I maybe, maybe scored the shimmer stripe cardigan last night on a popback! I say "maybe" because we all know it might not ship. :) I did stock up on Jackie twinsets, which are quickly becoming my warm-weather work staple. Also grabbed the mixed-crystal Colletto necklace and bracelet...probably shouldn't have spent the money, but I just knew they wouldn't be there when I went back!

  8. Yes, they have been VERY quick on shipping with this sale. I ordered a Jackie cardigan tuesday morning and had it by Wednesday afternoon!!! Impressive.

  9. I got my Tuesday morning sale items order really fast--yesterday afternoon.

However, I did place a second order late yesterday afternoon and it has yet to ship--still sitting there released-- so I think the "late" shoppers are not going to get their items as quickly! Maybe things got backed up fast!

  10. mimi.magnolia - I scored the shimmer stripe cardigan last week on a pop back, and not only did I receive it, but it was in pristine condition. I hope you receive yours!

  11. I picked up a Jackie twinset, a slim stretch shirt, the pastel petal perfect shirt and another pair of ripstop cargos. I know some JCAs had issues with the sizing on the cargos but the ones I have fit TTS and are really comfortable.

My order shipped out really fast as well. Nice!

  12. Shipping speed totally depends on where you live. In Ohio it takes at least 5 days. In North Carolina it can be 1-2 days. I'm a little sad... I'm in Ohio!

I may place another order today... but those ridealongs can be so dangerous!

  13. I placed a second order this morning for some CC stuff for my girls.
I wish they'd lower the prices so some of the sale items don't linger on for months.
I'm in California and I think it takes at least a week for me to get my stuff.

  14. Yepyepyep, living in NC is awesome -- once I even got my order within 36 hours. THAT was impressive! I'm guessing 48-36 hours for this one ... only way I could beat this time would be to live in VA. Hee.

  15. I'm in CA too, always take a week at least

  16. WA state is a week too. For 2-3 days my orders always sit in a "billing information received" status at UPS, then they show up as departing Salt Lake City. Is that their departure point for Left Coast orders?

  17. NEXT DAY AIR SAVER? Has anyone had this with $150+ Free shipping offer?

I am in CA and ordered some items (both new arrivals and from sale) on Monday 4/26. They shipped 4/29. UPS tracking says scheduled delivery is 4/30...That's warp speed for JC.

Now lets see if they are MY items and if they'll really arrive.

  18. Elaine, I'm in NC too, Raleigh area specifically. There is a Mother's Day shopping event a J Crew in Southpoint on Sunday. Let me know if your interested. They are opening the store early to allow Mother's to shop.

  19. NC Mama,

Southpoint is in Durham right? Was wondering if it is bigger than Crabtree in Raleigh. I never seem to find much at Crabtree the store just doesn't carry the new items when they first come out/seems slow to get them. Is Southpoint any better?

  20. Kristin, I think the "billing information received" status means the warehouse has printed the UPS shipping label but they haven't actually given the box to UPS yet. My JC orders usually stay there for at least a day.

My orders are generally shipped from Seacaucus NJ, which is right across the river. Once the package is in UPS hands, it's usually delivered the next day. I'm happy to see that my package is "out for delivery" today.

  21. Marietta, congrats on the sweater! Mine did actually ship last night - here's hoping it's in perfect condition like yours!

  22. KristinL: I think so because I'm in OR and I have the same information. Also, I seem to recall them having a warehouse/overstock sale of some kind in UT last year...

  23. Received an "ify" item--worn? or not? with no tag. Just 1/2 of a plastic piece hanging from the inside sewn in tag. Garment had slight odor like spices...aired it out in the sunshine and seems OK now as it is a silk/dry clean only top. Just never know.....

  26. Hey Genny,
I would say Southpoint is hit or miss. They do not carry Crewcuts so the store seems almost the same size. I think the store isn't as picked over as Crabtree so I find alot more goodies. Good luck!

  27. NCMama,
Thanks for letting me know about the stores and the Durham one not carrying Crewcuts. I used to shop JC at Mall of America and loved it but haven't been impressed with the Crabtree store when I have been in it. They are either very picked over like you said or don't have the new items in yet like many report online. I may try the Durham store next Sunday (Mother's Day)as will be at the mall then....Thanks for your help. If you happen to go in the next week or so let me know what you see.
