This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the RESORT & early SPRING sale, or to see some new SPRING arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!
Oooh...my shorts are now 20% off...didn't that sound kinda scandalous! ;)
ReplyDeleteI will be searching for the folded petal cardigan I have seen on a few blogs. Excellent price point and embellished cardis are totally up my alley.

ReplyDeleteWhee, I have 2 pairs of shorts in my shopping cart.. hello excuse to buy!
ReplyDeleteOnly thing, everytime they put up one of these promos, it takes ~forever~ for the sale prices to show.
I just wanted to let you know that I nominated your blog for an award. Check it out on my blog!

I won't be going since I was just in on Wednesday. The sale section had tons of shorts, grand ruffle shells, tees, cargo pants, and other usual suspects. The Watercolor Floral Pastiche pencil skirt was there and marked down to $69.99.
ReplyDeleteI saw a handful of new arrivals including a top that I'm pretty sure is just like the Victoria tissue cami but it has sleeves. I'll put a pic of it on my blog later today.
Have a great day everyone! :)
Hello! I went to the Rockfeller and Madison avenue stores yesterday. The Mad av had a couple of Celosia cardi in the coveted blue color (both in a size S) and two in melon (a size XS and a M). Also tons of shorts, including the pastiche ones (didn't look at the sizes as I had just bought the skirt).
ReplyDeleteVery few new arrivals but they have received a new crystal buttons v-neck cardi like the one that they had last year in very pretty colors.
Happy shopping!
I've given up on saying I won't be stopping by, because essentially if I'm anywhere near the Crew, I go in! LOL. I do actually need some shorts, though, as I bought a bazillion pair at the end of the season last summer and was lucky enough to lose about 10 lbs this winter, and now they're all too big! I could scream. Arrgggh.
ReplyDeleteOT: For anyone interested in seeing the new tee I mentioned earlier, I have a pic of it up on my blog in this post. :)
ReplyDeleteNo B&M for me this week-end. I'm mad at JC right now. Ordered 3 t's on April 10 with the 20% off promo and they still haven't shipped! Also, I'm planning on holding out for the big roll-out at the end of the month.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I love the Victoria tissue cami and will be checking FFM's blog later today to see pics of the version with sleeves. I hope it's not enough to lure me into the stores!
I've got some returns to go today, so I'm excited to check out that shirt that FFM posted on. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd on my most recent visit (two days ago?) to a B&M, there were a lot of watercolor pastiche skirts ($69.99), tissue garland tanks in black and white (marked down to $29.99, not $34.99 as on the site), sunshine peony cardigans ($59.99), ruffle rose dresses in black and cinnamon ($49.99, not $59.99 as on the site), lieutenant jackets (I think they were going for the same price as online - $79.99) and a variety of tees.
HTH! :) Will report back if I find anything on my trip tonight!
There's 3 Tweed Contessa coats at the $89 price in sizes 0,2,and 6 online right now :D
ReplyDeleteI'm making one of my rare trips to a B&M this weekend. I don't have anything in particular on my list but if I see a great markdown I'll allow myself a treat.
ReplyDeleteChristy- too funny!
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to mention that while trawling eBay last night, I spotted yet another Campo de Fiori dress -- the yellow knit long-sleeved one, not the olive-colored one. I believe it was a Medium, there was only 1 bid on it and it was hovering around only $50-ish with I think 2 days to go. However, the listing isn't tagged with the Campo name because the seller doesn't know what she has, I guess ... if anyone wants the item number, please send me an e-mail at elaine dot hamill at gmail dot com. Again, not my auction nor that of anyone I know -- just trying to help out JCA'ers who may be looking for it.
ReplyDeleteI'll stop by tomorrow to make some returns.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend everyone!
Ema - I picked up three of those lightweight crystal button v-neck cardis on Tuesday, in black, tan and teal/green. If I remember correctly they also came in hot pink, champagne (I have that from last summer), aqua mist, and citron. The hot pink and citron were really bright, almost flourescent imo.
ReplyDeleteDYI: OT: On the Today Show they showed how to make a lot of pretty painted tees and dresses. Google Today Show Video Player and go to the Fashion section....
ReplyDeleteMarietta, since you mention it, I also picked the tan (that really looks like desert brown to me but has a different color code). It goes very well with the tie-dyed wednesday and the pastiche skirts IMO!
ReplyDeleteema, are those crystal button v-neck cardis long or short? how much? i will definitely check them out today. work cannot end soon enough!
ReplyDeleteHas anyone seen the Double-Serge Pencil skirt in B&M in the slate color? Is it a light heather gray or more of a dark charcoal gray? Thanks!
ReplyDeletesaw the crystal button cardigan, they are shorter and very lightweight. I really want jcrew to come out with more soft, comfy/cozy cardigans again, like the "rumpled french terry cardigans" from last year........
ReplyDeleteNo JC for me this weekend. I already took advantage of Lands' End F&F sale to order several more of the Canvas ruffled tanks that I love. I also went to Talbots Madison Avenue store after work yesterday with my 20% off coupon and came home with several amazing lightweight cashmere jackie-like twin sets.
ReplyDeleteWent to Flemington NJ crewlet last night. Lots of promotions in the whole store. 20% off clearance items, which was full of all kinds of stuff like solid and yellow Gladiola silk garland tank/capris/skirts and a Haviona-type tank, fresco cotton cardis and dresses, lots of pants and tees and sweaters too. I got a cotton Michelle striped cardi for $20.
ReplyDeleteOther stuff: cotton jackies, michelles (stripes, solids, crocodile and watercolor floral), capris, matchstick jeans, lots of tees, safari-look jean jacket, frances tops, ruffle tanks solids and a print, shorts, skirts, flipflops, earrings in the jewelry section (never saw those there before).
The SA's there are really nice, they said there are new summer arrivals coming next Wed.
Finally got to try on the city safari pants! Love them! Bought the cinnamon color. I don't like the pearl - they're not cream, not gray, not khaki but some mix of those shades. I did size up from the skimmer and chinos. These fit me like (last year's) cafe capris. (Haven't tried on this year's.) Not a lot new: 3 cardis. The featherweight crystal button similar to last year's but easier to button - yay! - I bought 3 last year and will probably pick up another this year. A super long loosely knit cardi (white, gray, or lavender). I'm 5'4" and while it would work as a swimsuit cover up, it's TOO long to wear as a cardi. Then a gray wrap sweater that just didn't wrap correctly on me. I think the super skinny girls are going to have a hard time with this one - it would need to be wrapped 2-3 times and then the pockets would be who knows where! :D Also tried on a new tee, kind of a charcoal brown color. I would buy it on sale - don't even remember the regular price. Sale was a ton of tees, the celosia in navy and gray, several crackled copper skirts and watercolor pastiche skirts, and lots of jewelry.
ReplyDeleteWent to the B&M at the Mall at paramus, NJ. I saw a lot of new arrivals on the floor; there was a linen brown jacket, a mint green tweed skirt and lots of beach dresses that I did not somehow like much. They had some new scarves too. Overall, I am not too excited because I did not find the quality or design too good or unique. I really feel there is a lot of cost-cutting (if any) going on. I have a 10% off coupon and I returned home without using it.
ReplyDeleteThese days I see myself buying Madewell instead. I feel they have less stuff, but whatever there is, it is actually well-made and good to add to a basic wardrobe. Jcrew....hmmm.... quality issues are there for the full price they expect customers to pay; totally not worth it.
I went to B-vue today. I had my antsy non-shopper mother with me, so I didn't really get much of a chance to look around. Sale section was a sea of pastel embellished t-shirts. I didn't bite on anything.
ReplyDeleteEmily,
ReplyDeleteI own the double serge in slate and I also own a few dark pewter pieces (I was big on grey this year). The double serge slate is a mid-grey (not pale), whereas the dark pewter is just that, quite dark but you can tell it's grey not black. One word of caution - the double serge does tend to wrinkle a lot considering its a heavier fabric, so if you sit all day like I do just be prepared.
Hope that helps!

Camille -
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the explanation of the differences in grays. I own a pencil skirt in a darker gray - probably more like the pewter color you are describing - and I've been looking for a lighter gray. My B&M store did not have it in stock so I could check out the color prior... so your explanation was very helpful! I decided to order it and take a chance - worse comes to worse, I can always return if it is darker than I wanted.
Thanks again!
it was my lucky sale day! I found things in store that had been tempting me online. The best find was a Silk Frances Camisole in Misty Lavender. There was only 1 Frances, and it was my size and only $39.99! It is $69.50 online.
ReplyDeleteGray Celosia, the black and white floral cardi (the name is escaping me atm), the Watercolor pastiche cardi, rose vines shorts all on sale.
ReplyDeleteSadly, my store no longer has any of the Rose Vine perfect shirts marked down. If anyone finds one in a 4, please let me know!
