This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
The new code is free shipping on orders $150+ Use code HOTDAYS
ReplyDelete...boring. I'm ready for some new items and a bigger online sale.
I went to Bel Square (WA) this weekend. They were offering an additional 40% off sale but the sale section was smaller than usual and very picked over. The front half of the store was also pretty sparse.
ReplyDeleteSome new Minnies in bright flame, yikes! Pretty shade, but those pants in that color would take a LOT of self-confidence!
Also--this may not be news to those who are able to get to the stores more often--there is a wool scarf in the same blue-orange-white paisley as the very popular pencil skirt.
ReplyDeleteSubscribing. :)
ReplyDeleteElaine,
ReplyDeleteDid you make it to the Durham store?
I went in to return, and this store had the extra 40% off. Although I swore not to buy any more summer, I did take home a few items that transition nicely from summer to fall. The Delaney dress in copper dust ($18 w/40%), canteen pants in copper & utility green ($12), and LS sweatshirt tee in utility green ($12). Things were quite picked over. I did try on the orange Minnie pants, but couldn't think how on earth to style them -- they are quite bright! Impatiently awaiting gorgeous fall clothing...
ReplyDeleteHey Genny, sadly I didn't, but I may toodle out there today -- I have a huge load of alterations I need to pick up there anyway. If I go and see anything noteworthy, I will post! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, I hadn't realized how many bizarrely ugly pieces J. Crew had offered this season until they were all put together in the sale section. I haven't been in a B&M lately, and was excited to see 40% off sale prices. I came home empty handed -- didn't even try anything on.
ReplyDeleteSame thing at the Gap this season. I walked away from their 40% off sale shaking my head at the offering.
I think both stores should take notice that their classically shaped pieces sold very well, especially the nautically inspired items, (none were left in the sale section). But their darker colored, drapier fit tops and super short shorts and skirts were languishing on the racks -- even at rock bottom prices!
At least that's how I felt about the selection at my local B&M.
Just bought the wonderful paisley skirt last Thursday at FULL PRICE. If anyone happens to see it on sale this week could you post here so I can get a price adjustment.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!!

ReplyDeleteDitto JCK--I was so excited about the extra 40% off, and then came away with nothing, didn't even bother to try anything on. The Annapolis store had stacks and stacks of sack-like dresses and shapeless, see-thru silk blouses and not much else.
ReplyDeleteWow, online women's sale section has over 1500 items. Never seen it that high. They are going to have to do another extra % off and/or remove final sale if they want to move that merchandise.
ReplyDeleteOnly 30% at both my B&M stores and the selections weren't too great. Tried on a few pieces..but eh. Even though it is a 100 degrees here and will be hot until October, I’m so ready for beautiful fall things. I was told yesterday the first fall items will hit stores July 26, so I can wait.
ReplyDeletePlus..if I'm going to buy now..I want 40% off...like Banana Republic was offering across the way! :)

ReplyDeleteJ Crew just announced a store opening at West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada for Summer 2012. Yay!
ReplyDeleteThe fall rollout should be online this Thursday the 21st. :)
ReplyDeleteThere are some great deal at stores if you can fined inventory. My store had 40% off and I just got Cecilia dress in blue for $42, Glenplaid suiting dress for $36 and superfine cotton 1035 trousers for $24. I saw some other goodies with good prices like linen perfect shirts in blue and navy and No 2 cotton pencil skirts in mauve and black, cafe capri and maddie linen pants etc.
ReplyDeleteI was on vacation and hit the store in the Freehold (NJ) Raceway Mall. (This is DH's home town, but the mall is new). With 40% off I got a navy beach type knit dress (don't know this year's name), the neon pink silk sleeveless henley, a light tan double serge pencil skirt (my first, yay) and for 9.99 a pair of matchsticks. All came to 100.00 and no sales tax in Jersey! Much better selection than the stores I usually hit in St. Louis and KC.
ReplyDeleteI went to the Canton CT store near my sister's place as there is no B&M here. I got the Ainsley black rattan clutch for $21, navy linen Caravan pants for $30, and the Leslie lace shell in natural for $33. Extra 40% off the sale price. Nice sales people, small store not in a mall(dislike malls).
ReplyDeleteHey Bobster when I was in Vegas this past Easter the gals working the store told me there were two more stores opening in the West. So West Ed and I bet the other will be in Van. Here's to them following the smae shipping model that BR does. No more nasty tarrifs or taxes please.
ReplyDeleteSince BR began shipping in Canada my shopping there was really gone up; paying in Cdn, free shipping and free returns have really made a dfference for me.
