J.Crew Email: Shop it first: new fall arrivals & FREE SHIPPING

"Thanks!" to many of you, who shared the following news from J.Crew this morning.

J.Crew Factory (click here to shop online) is open for the weekend. There are some new arrivals that made it online.

As JCAs know... if you live near a Factory Store, check them out first. The B&M Factory Stores tend to have better promotions and sale prices.

What are your thoughts on J.Crew's Factory offerings? Will you check them out?

  2. I'll probably go to hell for saying this, but I think I'm over Factory items. Once in a blue moon they do something that's on par with its retail twin, but overall I am just meh about all of it. Maybe this is because I now have 2 Crewlets within an hour of me? Maybe it's sadness that they make a lower-level product specifically for these stores instead of sending overstock items there to sell through at a deep discount?

The 'treasure-hunting' aspect of outlet shopping is missing for me at the Crewlets. I think that might be it. No treasures to be found, really.

  3. The Tulalip outlet store has the following promos in the store:
    Knits 40% off
    Graphic tees 40% off
    Outerwear 30% off
    Knit tanks 50% off
    Shorts 20% off
    Cardis 30% off
    Dresses $10 off

Sale items 60% off. I got the crops I blogged about here before for a mere $15. They are a great summer casual pant IMO.

They also introduced a rose print in many items: prefect shirt in silk/linen that looks like a really good quality. Also a cardigan, a pencil skirt, a dress, a tank top. Hope to have some photos on my blog this weekend with this print.

  4. ITA w/ you Elaine. I have one outlet an hour away from me but I'm not even motivated to check it out since I know they don't carry overstock items from retail/catalog. I've asked the SAs there several times and they said they rarely get them anymore and if they do they're gone pretty quickly.

Thanks Rose for letting us know the promos and what maybe at crewlets.

  5. I live near a Factory store and have found many items that compliment my Retail sets. It's nice to have a better price point on some items that are maybe a bit more trendy.

I hate the 30 day return policy however! You blink and miss a return date if you life is the least bit busy.

I especially like their cotton versions of past retail pencil skirts (fine fabrics) for summer. They make great everyday outfits. I also like the Crewlet Jackies!

I don't have kids, but they just added a CrewCutlet section at my store. I'm sure many Moms are in heaven getting J. Crew style for less as the children grow so fast.

  6. I stopped by my local Crewlet this weekend and walked around aimlessly for about 10 minutes and then walked out. The only thing that even remotely caught my eye was a cerise/navy striped tee, but it was too expensive for the quality, so I just put it back.

I agree with you Elaine. I've always felt that way about the Crewlet but keep going back *just in case* they've upped their game. I'm disappointed every time...I wish the outlet stores would go back to being true outlets where their merch. was not a separate brand from their retail store.
