"Thanks!" to LaurenPhD, JCrewJD, Irina, as well as jbird (in this post), who shared some news about an email sent to J.Crew credit card holders.
All JC cardholders get free shipping (any order! no minimum!) with promo code JCCC. Just make sure you use your J.Crew card as payment. This offer expires Sunday, July 17, 2011.
The email (shown above) also featured the not-yet-officially-released-online Cashmere Cable Sweater (Item 46703; $228.00). I totally agree with LaurenPhD about it being so hot, that we cannot even think about sweaters of any kind right now. ;)
As for the free shipping code... Love that this promotion is available exclusively for J.Crew card holders. There are not enough perks for this group, so it is really nice to see this one!
Did you get the card holder email from J.Crew today? If you are not currently a card holder, do you think this promotion will entice you? Please share!
D'oh!
ReplyDeletethere goes my willpower.
:)
Hooray, it's great to see some cardholder perks! I spent my shopping budget for the month at the Nordstrom sale (on a single item, LOL!) but I may pick up the tortoise resin necklace now that I can get FS.
ReplyDeleteI don't get any of these card holder emails but I am a card holder. I do get my bill though. Any thoughts?
ReplyDeleteSame here, MegCrew - I am a cardholder, did not receive the email, but JC has no problem sending me my bill every month! Did I mention that I don't get catalogs, either? :/
ReplyDeleteI am cardholder and no e-mail. I also get my billing statement like megcrew...hmmm
ReplyDeleteNot sure if anyone else has seen them in stores yet, but my SA let me peek at their new jewelry line book and shoes book. These are some sort of in-store books- not for clients. I found some fabulous looking patent wedges-WOW! they looked like the Mara wedges only patent and came in black and taupe-LOVED them. The jewelry was awful! Lots of bright colors and what appeared to be hard plastic yikes! Hopefully it will be better in person:)
I'm not even a cardholder but I'm stoked for you guys. It's about damn time! :)
ReplyDeleteDid any of y'all who don't get the emails or catalogs opt out of receiving them at some point? That might explain it...
If the new jewelry is plastic, then I'll certainly be resting MY plastic this fall. Ick. :( It's like the Crew *wants* me to keep my money!
ReplyDeleteI didn't get the e-mail, but tested it with a mock order and it worked. I might even use this if the item I want will pop back in my size.
ReplyDeleteMegCrew and patmosjd, I also wasn't getting any e-mails or catalogs, even though I have a card. So I just went to the JC web site and signed up for e-mails (again!) and requested a catalog. It's a hassle, but the bonus was they sent me a free shipping code and my catalog actually had a coupon in it.
ReplyDeleteHexicon, I'm eyeing that necklace, too! I also may get the confetti pendant neckalce, since it seems to have sold out in stores.
I'm a cardholder and I did get this e-mail. It was kind of hidden since it was at the bottom of the e-mail about the cashmere cable sweater which they are apparently showing to cardholders first.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a great perk! I think I might have to pick up a necklace. :)
Some new cuts noted at the top of this post.
ReplyDeleteI'm no longer a cardholder, but it's about time for those that are!

ReplyDeletenot a cardholder but where I live that sweater looks perfect for the temperature! Wish I could trade with some of you sweltering people.
ReplyDeleteLooking at those cable sweaters maked me want to wear that fisherman cable sweater i scored on final sale last week. Unfortunately it's like 99 here right now, so it's gonna be a while, lol!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestion Lauren PhD! A catalog with a coupon in it is worth the hassle of signing up...again. :)
ReplyDeleteElaine - nope, I never opted out of catalogs or emails before. We'll see how long I stay signed up before having to do it again. :)
This is great for cardholders to get a perk and a preview. While I was on vacation I got the email on July 5 previewing the animal-print edie and free shipping on my account until July 18. I didn't check but I'm sure it was discussed here. That's two whole weeks of free shipping. Wondering why FS in that offer is so much longer than the 4-day free ship cardholder offer. Doesn't seem right IMO.
ReplyDeleteJust called my neighborhood B&M, the 30% off in store was extended. No 40% off. The Walnut Creek location, did not get the memo to extend the sale, but Emeryville is still has it.
ReplyDeleteGreat for cardholders! :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's kind of a joke to say cardholders "get it first" since anyone can plug in the magic word in the search engine to locate the item.
Oops, forgot to mention, the skirt the model is wearing w/the sweater looks really cute w/the front buttons and cuffed pockets!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping for new, straight, but not pencil, skirt options to wear w/boots for the fall.
XOXO, evidently the July 5 e-mail about the Edie bag was only for very special cardholders, because I did not receive it, even though I've been a silver cardholder forever. (And I receive cardholder e-mails at multiple e-mail accounts, so I know it wasn't an e-mail glitch.) That might explain the lengthier free shipping perk.
ReplyDeleteWolfy, I just came from my B&M and it was 40% off. With my 15% teacher discount, I was able to score a Cecilia Dress for $20, the blouson stripe dress for $50 and a double serge pencil skirt for $35.
ReplyDeleteBonnieMac,
ReplyDeleteWhere is your B&M? I called the two near me and they said only 30%
Wolfy, My B&M is in Marietta, GA. SA told me the 40% started yesterday.
ReplyDeleteHexicon, I received the July 5 Edie preview / FS email but I am NOT a J.Crew cardholder and have never been one, which is why I said it didn't seem right.
ReplyDeleteI know you have commented in the past that J.Crew *never* had promos for cardholders so at least they are doing that recently and hopefully they will keep them coming and make them good.
I did get this email. I think since I'm on the west coast I get it later. Now if only I could get the catalog! I have requested it before and will do it again...and again.
ReplyDeleteBIG yeah for this promo. I like seeing some perks for holding a card.
I saw this sweater last weekend. I liked it - was nice and soft and thick, a number of pretty colors available, and I liked that the neckline looked to be a little open ie not too tight but not a boatneck and it had three quarter sleeves, making the overall style quite different than cable cashmere sweaters from years back. There was tulip (basically the color of candy floss) a cream - not alabaster - not sure what it was called. A nice pastel heather pale greenish blue, then a pretty fuschia type color, then the standards navy etc, sorry I don't remember the other colors. I am an XXS and it seemed the fit would be good ie not too boxy.
ReplyDeleteSaw this new cashmere cable sweater IRL @ Manhattan Columbus Circle store last weekend. VERY nice. Good weight, soft, lots of fun colors, the poppy/modern red color was a stand out. Didn't try on as dressing room line was super long due to sale.
ReplyDeleteStrange though that JC says only offering to card holders but it is in some B & M's already?
Ooh, love that sweater! This is one that I really DO want in every colour. Reviews, anyone? Wondering about the sizing in particular.
ReplyDeleteI know I'm nuts, but I'm already looking forward to fall. :)
IRL - I noticed that skirt too. It looks similar to a trench skirt Anthro recently released, but I like the style of this one just a bit better. You're so right - how cute would that be with boots! Hoping it's not too short.... ;)
ReplyDeleteajr: unfortunately, the name may say it all: Marching "Mini". :(
ReplyDeletePer cs: "The skirt the model is wearing is the Marching Mini, item 47324, in Nutmeg. This skirt has not yet debuted on our website, but is available to be pre-ordered."
Well, that figures doesn't it. I was afraid of that. You know, it just amazes me, because I haven't been seeing minis anywhere else for fall this year. Just JC. Hmmm...
ReplyDeleteIs the Marching Mini the dress uniform of the Military Pixie? Who thinks these things up? No, don't tell me, I know. No wonder it " has not yet debuted." It's embarrassed.
ReplyDeleteI was grateful to see this post today (not having received the e-mail, not being a cardholder on principle: 20%+ APR, no thanks!) to remind me to save my pennies for fall and not to get sucked into 1) final sale or 2) the inevitable popbacks from the previous fall and winter that always seem to entice me in July.
ReplyDeleteClicquot, this, too, is one of my must-haves and I am having a hard time choosing a color. I heard from another JCA (who saw it in the NYC Collection store) that it is "swoon-worthy." I'm willing to pay FP, I think! :)
The Garden State Plaza store has an extra 40% off sale, but the selection was super picked over...
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with the positive reviews. The sweaters come in bold, delicious colors. The fit is TTS to a little bit slimmer than the loose and boxy cashmeres of the past two years. These remind me of the old classic Jcrew. Price is steep though at $225 and already available for sale at the Prince St store in Soho.
ReplyDeleteLove the cashmere cable sweater, but not at over $200. The cashmere has been so hit or miss over the last 2 years...some of it is super soft and other times it feels like it is mixed with scratchy wool :( I will probably give them a whirl when they go on sale. So excited about the patent wedges that Twiga talked about. I am going to ask the girls at my B&M today if they have that look book :)
ReplyDeleteWell, the coveted item popped back this morning and I got sucked right back in.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad JCrew is finally offering perks to its card holders. Now if it wasn't final sale I would use this promo. Since final sale is in effect; forget it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Rose! I'm glad you got your popback item. I don't understand why we cannot just put in a request for an item and have JC ship it once they get it in. They need a more sophisticated system, or maybe just some organization. Personally, I think they would make more $$ that way. If I REALLY want an item I would gladly pay more for it so I would not have to get up at 2:30 am waiting for a popback!
ReplyDelete(original)Genny: I found a few items in the SALE section that were actually NOT marked Final Sale but not many. You have to do a fake checkout to be sure. If they end in .00 and not .99 they are not final like the Attache dress.
I never get any e-mails from J.Crew, ever. Not even in my spam folder, even though I have tried signing up, multiple times, have a credit card and an online account. Anyway, thanks to JCA, I did use the cc code to get a pair of sale white matchsticks and a final sale black linen tee. Thank you!
