This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this post) says it best, "You know, that thing you bought because you love it and you keep pulling it out and then putting it away without wearing it?"
Please share your J.Crew item (either that you own or are thinking about getting) that you would love help creating an outfit with.
Also, please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel free to include links to your blog (where you incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance! :)

ReplyDeleteI recently purchased the "salute skirt" in black pictured here:

I love it, and I want to wear it casually, but most t-shirts don't look right tucked into it. Any suggestions?
Kari: this reminds me a bit of my canteen pants. I took out the cord in the waistband because it was adding too much bulk to the front of the pants and now wear them without it. Now I can wear tees over them or tucked in. Not sure if that is something you could do with your skirt.

ReplyDeleteHi everyone, I recently scored the Retro-dot mini skirt circa 2007 and I'm having a bit of trouble styling it. It's beyond cute and I've been wearing it mainly with a Kelly green cotton gauze button up. But, I'm kind of stuck on what else I can do with it. It seems an easy style, but the yellow dots have been throwing me off of my stride.
ReplyDeleteHere's a pic of the skirt: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_f5QOsChTHI8/RctAvCqmhVI/AAAAAAAAAss/8wa96e6u5O4/s1600-h/jcrew.jpg
Thanks!
jlcl119: simple tops in yellow, white, and the navy blue in the skirt are pretty safe choices.
ReplyDeletejlcl119 - How about a purple...or the purple thistle color that J Crew offers. Maybe a V or Crew neck cashmere sweater of this color. Then maybe some fun jewelry to spice things up.
ReplyDeleteRose: Those are safe and good options. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteStene: I don't have any of J. Crews purple thistle merc. but I do have a split back tank from GAP that's a dupe of J.Crews purple dawn color. Maybe I'll try that.
Thank you both.
