  1. I ended up taking advantage of this offer on the Ruched Femme tank. I HIGHLY recommend this swimsuit. The ruching is perfect and hides all of my tummy troubles. This is my first suit with ruching, and I don't think I'll ever go back! I first ordered a size 6 (on pop-back), which is a size up from my regular, and it fits fine. The second suit I ordered is a size 4. It's on backorder though (ugh) so I really can't compare the two sizes yet.

Btw...I received and reviewed the much-anticipated Jardin skirt on my blog last night. It's a winner!

  2. Good morning from sunny California JCA's. I was hoping I could get some help on some swimsuits I was looking into ordering today. First is the Islet paisley hidden underwire ruched bandeau top (37343) and bikini as well as the Jersey Lomellina® mini-ruffle underwire bandeau top (item 43393). I am a very small 34 B and was thinking of ordering the 34 A on both of the tops as well as smalls for the bottoms. The last suit I bought from J crew was really big. I kept it, but no heavy swimming will be done in this suit, as it may fall off. The last suit purchased was the Wildbloom halter top and bikini (item 36291). I ordered the small top, def could have gone XS. The bottoms I also got small (usually wear a medium) and they also could have been smaller. Any words of advice before I bite on these suits. At least they aren't FS :) Thank you :)

  3. Stene,
I bought a few bathing suit items from JC during the last swim promo, and I agree - they run big. The first pieces arrived and I could tell they were large. The bottoms were as you describe - I bought them to wear under the IKAT surf short when I kayak; could never wear them swimming on their own, def. would fall off.
So I had my PS reorder the remaining pieces not yet shipped in a smaller size - and they fit much better.

  4. so... if i wear a size 4 dress, but size 2 pants (very small hips) and generally a small shirt, what sizes should i be looking at for swimwear? (i prefer tankinis.) should i be buying X-Smalls? (my store doesn't carry swimsuits so i can't try them on first)

  5. Miss JR - If you are a pant size 2 def go with the XS if not XXS. I wear a pant 4 to 6 and got the S. My butt is kinda large and I usually wear swim M, but the smalls were actually big on me.

Suzy - Thanks for the info :) I think I am just going to end up getting a bunch of sizes and returning (34A and B of the tops and S and XS for the bottoms).

  7. I recently got the plain bikini bottoms in my normal size of medium, and they are a touch big. Not that they will fall off, but the fabric wrinkles annoyingly. Sigh.

But then I have the polka dot grommet shorts in a medium, which fit fine.

I have three suits coming today... the Liberty Dandie ruffle french top and bikini, the paradis paisley underwire twist bandeau top in my regular bra size (sure to be a total fail), and the cape stripe halter top with bikini bottom. I ordered mediums in everything but the paradis paisley top, obviously. I hope it all fits but we all know better than that!

  8. Just placed my order...and purchased basically 2 sizes of everything. Scary how much the total was, but I am planning on keeping only 2 of the 3 suits ordered. Unless of course I love all of them. I purchased the Islet paisley hidden underwire ruched bandeau top (37343) and bikini bottoms, Jersey Lomellina® mini-ruffle underwire bandeau top (43393) and bikini bottoms in mountain pine, and the Retro dot wide-band halter top (41916) in african violet.

We will see how they work out. If anyone has any comments on these suits I would love to hear them :)

Oh on a side note, I got an email from JC saying that my Mara Wedges shipped...amazing :)

    Love this community!

  9. Ok, I know the available underwire twist bandeau tops are final sale but I just thought I'd share my review. I rec'd the Paradis paisley underwire twist bandeau top and I LOVE IT. I ordered it in my normal bra size (34D, and I've had bad experiences with the special D-Cup sized tops from J.Crew being big enough to hold a cantaloupe in each side...) and it fits so well. It looked huge when I took it out of the package but it fits perfectly. I hate everything strapless and avoid it but this top fits and stays up. I am kinda shocked.

So stay away from the "glamour" style tops since they basically show a little too much boob, and go with one of these, if you're on the fence. J.Crew nailed it with this one.
