Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new FALL arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I don't have any plans to go, but look forward to hearing reports from the JCAs that do get to visit. :)

  3. Looks like there are a handful of new (FS) first markdowns - coastline stripe tee, bundle hoodie, a bunch of shoes.

  4. OT, there's 25% off "sale" at madewell. Just checked the site. I have seen better pictures of Alexa Chung than today's. She looks like she's casting a spell. Seasonal?

  5. I want to exchange a skirt for a different size. I originally got it as an even exchange for a skirt they sent me in the wrong color. I don't have a receipt for the new skirt and my jcrew cc only lists th original purchase not the exchange ugh.
I don't think they will help me out. I called customer service and he said most likely the store won't do anything.
    I would appreciate any advice.

  6. @A, if your store SAs are as nice as mine, then you'd get your exchange. Explain your situation. I'm sure they will help you out. I have nothing but positive experience at J.Crew. Good luck.

  7. I went last night and got the Deck Stripe Boater Tee (51423). It's super cute (and like I need more stripes!) but be warned to size way down. I normally take a size S in JC t-shirts, and I got the XS and probably could have fit the XXS (none in stock to try).

But it's great cotton, thicker than their usual tees, and the button detail on the sleeves is sweet. Love it!

  8. Bought the cowl neck poncho and somehow there was still a prabal bow top in my size online this week. Just found out about the student discount and they said they will retroactively award the discount as long as I bring the item in within 7 days. Awesome! Which means I get to go into the store!

  9. Westfield San Francisco J Crew is wrapping up the store expansion. It will be closed Oct 3 - 10 and re-open on Oct 11. They're adding Crewcuts and bridal, from what I was also told.

  10. @gigi -- great news! I had been wondering why SF was missing out on the bridal collection!

  11. I'd be curious to know if the Sherpa Zip Hoodie fits the same as the ones last year.

    TIA!

  12. Probably no J.Crew for me this weekend.

  13. Hey, any other Parks and Recreation fans recognize the Hacking Jacket on the lovely Amy Poeler during last night's opening scene? If my eyes do not deceive she's wearing the gray/ black tipped version. This might be the straw that breaks my self-control's back...Have a feeling this wknd will find me scoping sizes/colors at my B&M!

  14. I went last night to see what they had as far as new arrivals - there was nothing. I ended up ordering the hacking in bright berry through the phone - everyone was raving about it and saying I better scoop it up quick.

I spoke with one of the SAs and she went on and on about how it seems like JC didn't make enough of the best sellers to go around. She spent the whole day calling other stores for the hacking in midnight blue - it's backordered until January. It's good to know we're not the only ones that feel it!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hooray!! My double-serge pencil skirt in vibrant flame just shipped! It's been backordered for weeeeeeks! Now just waiting on my veridian green one...

  16. Does anyone know if the Cece Tweed Ballet Flats are available in any stores? I'm looking for the gray version in size 7 or 7.5.

    ReplyDelete
  17. This is a bit of a vent, but has anyone noticed slower shipping since the free ship over $175/flat rate started? My orders always used to ship the same day if I placed them before 10 a.m. PT. Now it is taking one to two days. It isn't a huge deal, but it feels like forever when you're way up here in the NW corner of the U.S. *sigh*

  18. I just got back from the store in Durham, NC. Here's what I saw:

Solong Sweatshirt Tunic 51224 $29.99 (in a lighter grey...full price online)

Plaid Bayou Tunic 49905 $24.99 (full price online)

Boatneck Painter Tee in Stripe 48054 $19.50 (full price online. there weren't any signs for these, but it rang up as $19.50)

Dream Fair Isle Vest 49106 either $19.99 or $24.99 ($54.99 online)

Perfect-Fit Mixed-Tape Cardigan 29176 (full price online)...I saw navy, henna, grey, and an olive green

    Hope that helps!

  19. Oops! Sorry. The Perfect-Fit Mixed-Tape Cardigan was $29.99 in those colors.

  20. @Gigiofca- Thanks for the info about the Westfield JCrew I love going to the store, I'll def look into it when they reopen.

  21. Amy, thanks for the sale update. I'm definitely stopping in this weekend to check out the mixed tape cardigans. I'd love to have a navy one.

  22. Picked up a couple of sale items at J Crew - Park Meadows.
    Zip-cable sweater-47171 in Vintage Champagne $ 29.99
Vintage cotton rugby-stripe henley-48079 in wave crest -$24.99
And yesterday while doing some returns purchased from Cherry Creek - Perfect Shirt in Off-White with Blue Flowers - $19.99 which was still $49.99 at PM.
Tried on the Fisherman sweater in Deep Plum but was not in love with the high acrylic content, it was on sale for $59.99

  23. AppGal, not sure what size you are looking for in the double-serge pencil skirt in veridian green but I noticed they had some at the JC Park Meadows, Colorado store.

  24. OT, but are any JCA's watching this 2006 catalog lot auction on eBay? Hopefully some of them will end up on the Archives!

  25. Shannon, I was actually super-impressed at the fast shipping on my SHOPNOW order. I ordered the Emmeline dress (factory) Wednesday night and it was here today. It never happened before (even when I paid for overnight shipping). Anyway I reccomend the dress, one of the first dresses in ages that hits my knee as state in the description. It is on the roomy side, if you are a 00 the 0 won't fit you.

  26. Saw tons of Jardin skirts, dresses, and pants at the Copley J Crew in Boston - all marked down 50%. All sizes. Did not work for me but they are lovely.

  27. The Hacking Jacket in Berry is $228 in store.

    Other items to come:

New skirt, blouse and dress in the paisley shirt print. The pencil skirt is cotton I think but lined (in purple lining). The blouse is similar cut to boat blouse but a substantial fabric. They had it tucked in on the mannequin with a belt, which made it look like a dress and I think you could actually wear it this way.

The majesty peacoat in new colors, TDF purple (jazzy purple?) and citron yellow.

Boulevard trench in camel and charcoal. I got last year boulevard in sandstone but this year camel is prettier imo.

Some very pretty red shoes, classic looking, all leather with flat bow in front but the heels seemed high for me, I can only do 3" and under.

New tweed pencil skirt, in black and white, I did not care for it.

Oh, and new shade orange shade of wool capris.

  28. ajc, thanks for the info on the paisley pencil skirt. I love button-ups, but don't find them comfy. Love the look, but hate the feel. :) Anyway, I think the print is beautiful, so I hope the skirt works and is reasonable priced for JC. Can't wait to see it!

  29. I was at the Houston Galleria store and also saw the mixed-tape cardis for $29.99, including a mauvey pink color with code LBE (light berry?). I picked one up on Thursday night, forgot to get some hair clips so went back to the store this evening and the SA said they were all sold out in that color. If you like the mixed-tape and you like light berry, keep an eye out for this one. I recall someone posting that they wanted everything they could find in that light berry color...

There was no sign but perfect-fit LS tees rang up $5 off at $19.50.

There were lots of the sundrenched sweatshirt in dahlia and poppy, a few in the light green color as well. Quite a bit of sad-looking sale merch.

SA David was super helpful picking all the things I wanted for my husband and offering recommendations. For myself there was very little of interest and overall things seemed cheap but I dropped enough at Neiman's and other stores and I still have tomorrow to shop before heading back to Canada with an overloaded suitcase. I sure hope the men's line stays decent, my husband is really starting to like J.Crew.

  30. I have a question for people who are going into stores to try on different sizes.

Have you sized up in the Toothpick Cords? I tried the 26 as an online order, which is my normal jean size and what I wear in the matchstick. But they are soooo tight!

Has anyone had luck sizing up for a more comfortable fit? Or does the fit get all off with sizing up?

    TIA:>

  31. Can't wait to see the paisley pencil skirt and blouse, I hope they are not in store only

  32. I prefer the Maggie Double serge wool jacket that came out a couple of years ago. Brought it in every color-all when the sales were super that year. I like the unique detailing esp. at the collar. The hacking jacket just seems too basic for me. I just like pieces with more of an unusual accent. That said if you are in the market for a basic blazer or missed the Maggie it is a good one to get.

  33. I was at the SLC Gateway store yesterday...

I noticed the painter boatneck tees were on promo for $19.50 but the color selection was pretty picked over.

There were quite a few mixed-tape cardis there -- if anyone is having trouble finding a specific size/color, you might try calling them.

  34. Plenty of sale items, but not much new. My ps said new arrivals will be out on October 4. He also said the paisley pencil skirt is part of holiday, so I don't know when it will show up. I did get the sequin zig zag top for $10 and a black bangle for $5. I tried on and really liked the blackwatch capris, but I didn't love the price. Hoping these stick around for some markdowns or a good promo.

  35. AJC, where did you see the new colors of the majesty coat? Do you know when they're coming out? The purple sounds fantastic! Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  36. (original) Genny, I agree, the Maggie was a beautiful jacket, so well-made. I tried it but had to return since it didn't work for my figure. I so wanted to love it but it was not to be.

I do have two Bellas that fit me wonderfully and I'm happy with them, another special jacket that gets a lot of love here.

  37. silver lining, I *was* watching that lot - did you see it sold for $150!?!?
Someone REALLY wanted 2006 catalogs, lol!

  38. Lauren PhD, I saw a preview of the new collection in Paramus NJ, which is a concept store and receives items ahead of time to test customer response. I have to say that I already got the Majesty Peacoat in navy, but the purple was so pretty, I started having second thoughts, and I am not even a purple person.

It looks like there is a lot of purple in the upcoming collection.
I also saw a new purple shade of Blythe blouse. It is a jewel tone dark and deep true purple.
    I am talking this purple

To get an idea of the skirt print you have to zoom in on the paisley blouse, they colors are very vibrant but cheerful and warm, in full shot picture the button down looks much darker and muted than it really is, at least on my monitor.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Thanks AJC! I'm really into purple right now (it's actually getting excessive), so I'm so excited for the coat and for the upcoming collection.

  40. I popped into my store today, just b/c I haven't been there in a while. I took home the lace-over tank in poppy, which is cheaper in store. It wasn't final sale, so I can always return if it goes rock bottom, haha. The Maisie dress in floral was marked down to $90 (not sure that's been mentioned yet). I tried it on again, and it still didn't work for me, alas.

  41. I love the look of the Double Serge Hacking Jacket...but I can't believe that the most recent release is the only one not available in Tall Sizes...both the herringbone and the smaller-batch tipped one are, why not the serge in solids? Bummer. I will of course still order to check it out:)

I stopped in a store quickly today and didn't see any of the newest arrivals, but maybe I wasn't looking hard enough. I am looking forward to seeing more outerwear and cozy sweaters soon.

I am on the hunt for the embroidered stripe henley in large in the olive color...they were 9.99 in the store today but missing my size:)

  42. I went to the store in Emeryville where there were quite a few items on sale.
Fair Isle vest $19.99 both colors
    Calvary Twill skirt $49.99
Perfect fit t-shirt $19.50 or certain colors from summer are $14.99
    Lace popover tank $29.99
Mixed tape cardigan in variety of colors for $29.99
    Pintuck t-shirt for $12.99

HTH. The SA from Emeryville said that they get their sale items from the SF store which is interesting since the JCrew in SF doesn't have sale items.

  43. I was at my local B&M yesterday and I asked the SA if he knew if they would be offering the "Mickey" discount cards this year. He mentioned there was a fire at the warehouse and quantities are very limited. He said the new arrivals would be Oct. 23rd and not to expect any sort of discount card until after then because they were low on quantities of most things.

  44. I am looking forward to seeing the paisley pencil and new blouse. That fabric is lovely. Thanks to the posters who let us know that is coming soon.

    ReplyDelete
  45. The color resin necklaces were all $9.99 at my store. Also, the pilling Double-breasted sweater jacket was in the sale section (I think marked $80?)

    ReplyDelete
  46. There is an awesome retail-only color in the No. 2 double serge wool pencil skirt - its called dark peacock or something like that, a very deep blue. Darker than the Nordic blue offered last year. It's beautiful and I caved and bought it at full price.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Decided to order the silk boat blouse, hopefully it will be here by next weekend

  48. Anyone review the big-stripe leggings (51107)? I was interested in sizing. Thanks!
