This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!
Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!
I have some returns to make (the wrong color dress sent to me) but I'm too busy this weekend with VBS stuff. I wish I lived near a JC B&M...
ReplyDeleteCan anyone comment on the sizing of the Factory Printed Strapless Top (Item 12643)? Much appreciated!
ReplyDeleteCan anyone comment on the canvas espadrilles (Item 37725)? Is it comfortable?
ReplyDeleteGoing to make returns (aren't we all?) :)
ReplyDeleteI will not, but I have posted reviews from a past weekend here.
ReplyDeleteDecaf- I found the printed strapless to runTTS. I took my regular 0. If you are larger than a A/B cup you might want to size up. There is a bit of an a line to help the top flow over jeans etc but I didn't find it too boxy. The fabric is nice for summer - a cotton lawn, and the paisley print is really cute. Hth!
ReplyDeleteI have some returns to make as well, but won't be able to make it to the store until the beginning of next week. I'll be looking forward to reports from JCAs who do get to visit though. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks jcbellemarie -- just what I needed to hear before placing the order!
ReplyDeleteOh yes! I'm visiting both a crewlet and retail stores today! Momma has got the day off and is getting her shop on :)
ReplyDeleteToo bad there isn't a warehouse sale today or I would be truckin' up to VA!!
Just to make returns. Sadly, there is nothing I need or anything on my wishlist. Not even in the new rollout :( As I went through my closets these past weeks, everything in my donate pile is from the past couple of years; some items still have the price tags attached. It's been a big wake-up call to review my spending habits with JCrew. It's just so hard to accept that it is time to scale *WAY* back with an old friend.

ReplyDeleteI went yesterday and picked up the cafe capris on sale for $49.99. And I splurged on the Maritime dress in the darker black (dark navy?) stripe. It's really cute and I was told it's selling fast, so I splurged on it FP. Now, I gotta go back and reread blogs for styling suggestions! I also splurged on those beautiful red all leather ballet flats. They are gorgeous!! And there were only a couple pairs left, so I grabbed them. I think I"ll get a lot of mileage out of them.
ReplyDeleteAlexis and everyone,
ReplyDeleteThe Fall Look Book with a short video is on the website here:
http://www.jcrew.com/womens_feature/falllookbook.jsp
What do you think???
Suzy, I got an email titled "VIP look" with that link as well, I posted about it on my blog here.
ReplyDeleteSuzy, thanks for posting that!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I see lots of pointy toed shoes! YAY! I love all the colors although I don't know if I'll be able to wear any of the tweed or jacquard cropped pants in real life. Also love the full, swingy trench. AND the red what looks like knit dress. And that camel fluted midi skirt.
Oh dear, I need to start saving up now for fall!
I have a size 4 of the PG White Jacket I am going to return if anyone is interested, because it is sold out. Unfortunately as pretty as it is, the length is way too overwhelming on my height.
ReplyDeleteellievmc@gmail.com
jruby18 - what color cafe capris were on sale? All colors? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI want that red dress, red striped top (shown w/the trench & jeans) and the camel coat w/the brass buttons. I also saw a skirt in one of the lookbooks with buttons up the front in an olive color that looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteOverall, I have been disappointed in AT's previews and blown away by some of the looks BR had. I have a feeling BR is going to get most of my fall money this year.
Would those of you going to a B&M let me know if the vintage slim jeans in the rustic wash (not the ones with holes) are in stores and on sale? I was going to buy a pair from the web site, but they sold out in my size before I could pull the trigger. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI was the Chicago 900 shops location last weekend, and got some great deals on shorts! A lot of them were clearanced for $29.99!
ReplyDeleteKristin, I saw the cafe capris in the green color on sale at my b&m, but none of the other colors. HTH.
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm a bit of a newbie to this whole Jcrew thing (inspired by DaniBP, who led me here yay), with a mere 3 orders under my belt and only having set foot in ONE outlet store. I am eagerly awaiting Jcrew's arrival in Canada. That being said, I appreciate that there seems to be a bit of a science to getting what you want for close to what you want to pay for it. Hubby and I are planning a little cross border trip this week, and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a rookie. Even something as simple as do we hit the regular store or outlet first?? Hubby needs 36 inseam, can that be easily found in stores? I'm looking for an Infinity Cardigan and Doria dress, any chance one will be lingering in a store? Thanks in advance!
ReplyDeleteHas anyone ordered/tried on any of the Factory Perfect Shirts lately? I ordered a flannel plaid one this winter in a small and I more or less swim in it. It's THE BIGGEST small shirt ever.
ReplyDeleteJust wondering if the sizing has changed or if I should go down a size (or two? has the ridiculous XXS hit Factory yet?).
Thanks, all.
I need to make returns and will look around if I can ever get myself moving today. OT I just saw a woman on the Today Show wearing JC's Blue Jessie dress. She looked great in it. Al Roker was giving her a check for a charity. I want to say it was in Charelston West Virgina. I was only partly paying attention but the dress caught my eye. Also, JC did change the copy of this dress to correctly read that it is fluid rayon and not silk as previously described. Have a great weekend everyone!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Suite B! I'm envious that you are going to a B&M store. I haven't been cross-border shopping in ages, but for me, it was better to go straight to the regular store. The factory store was a bit of a disappointment - the quality is not as good as the regular items.
ReplyDeleteWow Rose thanks for the dress reviews! You looked fabulous in all of them imo and agree your camera made the Boardroom dress look so much better than it does on the website. I was also looking for a review of the Paradiso and you covered it as well. Thanks again! :)
ReplyDeleteDang it! I saw the size 7 Wylder boots on popback several days ago and ordered them, and now the order has been cancelled. :( I had ordered the 7's before and sent them back because they felt too big, but because I'm so obsessed with these boots I ordered the 7's again just to make sure. I am bummed. My only consolation, and it's slight, is that I might have decided again that they're just too big. But I wanted to see for myself. :(
ReplyDeleteOn a bright note, since I've been scooping up Jenna's cardigans (because I luuuuuuv merino) I noticed that there are some new colors. Not on sale, but I might spring for the camel at full price. The free shipping helps.
I also have returns, but not sure I will make it out to the mall. Has anyone seen extra % off sale in stores?
ReplyDeleteI wish there was a way to keep my 6-y-o corralled for just a few minutes so I could actually look at things in the store! Too old for a stroller (duh) and no shopping carts to contain him. :( He isn't bad, he just gets all antsy after like 2 mins. Arrrggghhh.
adding: i looooove bright dahlia, so i'm thrilled to see it coming back in full force for fall, YAY!
ReplyDeleteBibliophiliac - I have a couple of the perfect shirts from Factory and I have found all of mine to be TTS. I take an XS, or 0 or 2 in JCrew and have bought all XS in Factory and the fit seems to be the same.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you just got a bad one??? I haven't seen the weird XXS pop up in Factory yet either. HTHs!
Bibliophiliac: I have also found the Factory stripe three-quarter sleeve shirt and the in-store only solid three-quarter sleeve perfect shirt to run TTS with J.Crew retail. I take an XSmall in both, but I think the perfect shirts at the factory are now better quality than those at retail.
ReplyDeleteKristen, several colors were marked down including the light pink, dark pink and green and maybe few others. HTH!
ReplyDeleteI just got back. I wasn't planning on getting anything, but I just saw too much I wanted. I got the Schoolboy blazer in herringbone (37852) for only $29.99 ($69.99 online)! It was an online return, and I've been stalking it for a month. It started at $89.99. So glad I waited.
ReplyDeleteI also got the chambray tuxedo cami (42147
) for $29.99 ($49.99 online). The elephant, monkey, etc. pins were marked down to $4.99. The Jessie dress (43443) was $49.99 ($89.99 online). I didn't like the way it fit...beware if you're hippy like me. I did, however, love the iPhone cover in Jade (51973
). They also had a polka dot print cover which isn't online.
Sub :)
ReplyDeleteThe Indira Ikat dress in violet arrived today and I love it. Will try to post some photos on my blog soon. Gorgeous dress and much better than I expected.
ReplyDeleteThey had the dark pink and green cafe capris marked down to 49.99 but no additional percent off sale. They also had a light pink scout capri marked to something like 19.99 but of course they did not have my size. They had many dresses, shorts, skirts, and pants. I saw the new version of the Maritime dress and it was really nice looking but I did not try it since I knew it would be too short. They only had one stripe blouson dress in the black stripe left and it was a size 4 I believe. They did not carry the pink. I loved and bought the Jacinta cami in the poppy color which is more orange or coral than red to me. It is definitely not a christmas red or ruby red. I got a size 2 which is insanely small for me but I am very very small on top. It ran wide across the chest but layed flat fine for me. Again, I don't have much to "puff it out up top" so most tops lay flat on me!! Sorry to go on so long. I never get in the store on the weekends.
ReplyDeletexoxo, I returned the Ikat because of the short length on me and bad fit in my belly area, but I really loved the material and the print. I was thinking it would be great on someone "more endowed" than me, which is generally, most people. LOL!
ReplyDeleteHi tamara.chicago,
ReplyDeleteSorry about your Wylders! The same thing happened to me with the Lula flats. I ordered them late in the afternoon here, which would have been evening on the East Coast and had a feeling they were not going to be sent! It is very annoying! We will have to keep looking. :)
Glad a few have gotten great deals. My B&Ms are so picked over it's not funny. Even the crewlet that has been open a month was pitiful.
ReplyDeleteI only ended up scoring a floppy sunhat from retail - 19.99 so happy about that considering it is bigger, nicer , and cheaper than the outlet one I almost bought
I just got onto the J Crew web site, it's 7:11am CDT, and I put an item into my shopping cart and was continuing to look at other items, and now suddenly I can't see anything. 403 Forbidden. You don't have permission to access (insert URL). I can't even see the web site's main page. So I switched from Firefox to IE, now I can see the main page and sale section but can't see individual products. This same thing happened a couple of nights ago. I wish they'd stop screwing around with the web site.
ReplyDeleteI noticed Ann Taylor Loft's web site is screwed up too since their big outage, small problems, but still very frustrating. Sloppy programming. I've seen it every where I've worked.
Update at 7:30am CDT: I can see the web site's main page, sale main page, and sale product listing page 1 with both browsers, but can't sort the sale items, can't access individual product pages, and can't access the account or signin pages. I guess like the other night I'll have to just wait for a while and try again. Rats, I wanted to get this done now.
ReplyDeleteSizing help needed!
ReplyDeletePerfect fit fine rib tees....now that they added xxs, I am not sure how to size myself.
I have one from last year that is a size sm, but in other tees, like camisoles and tanks, I order xs. Things like the new Katie cami or Tessa, I am in a 00.
I think ppl usually size up for perfect fit fine rib tees from their other tees, because it is more clingy. I am not sure if with this new sizing then I should order a xs or my regular sm.
TIA, sorry so long!
@ranju: I feel the espadrilles run small. I'm normally in 7 in many brAnds, and 7 fits well in all jcrew flats. I go up half size in the Peep toes. However, i feel the 7 canvas espadrille is small. I should exchg for 8 but I'll just stick with it. Anyhow I find the shoes sexy, the heels is not too high so they're rather comfy
ReplyDelete@mcshoppy: the exact happened to me too after going through my closets! I have way too many items that are NWT or worn only once or twice. Bc of that I am trying so hard to restrain myself from shopping...
@tamara.Chicago: I wanted to catch the update but I don't see my browser showing the sale section updated. When I can finally see it, everything is gone. I supposed it's messed up on my end?
@pathos: I usually wear xs, but i would size up in perfect fit tee. S would fit just right.
Picked another perfect fit stripe tee (factory)...$10+free shipping. I had last year's tee but it was starting to get too small. I ordered a size up from that size and it fits nicely. Also what is up with the stores using poly and other synth. combined with cotton? I much prefer some of the factory items right now 'cause I can get 100% cotton.
ReplyDeleteJCee Tomato, I don't think it's messed up on your end, I think there's a problem with the site now when they're doing updates. The last time I saw this problem was a couple of nights ago at 11pm CDT which is when they usually do the evening update (new promo, and sometimes new items are available then too). Usually I can shop during the update, but that night I couldn't. Same exact symptoms this morning. Shouldn't they be doing this in the wee hours of the morning when fewer people are shopping? I still can't buy what I wanted to buy and will have to give up soon because I have other things to do. I can't even access my account. They need to get some better programmers. I'm one, and I'm sure there are others here who would join with me to take over their web site programming. :) (Actually it could be due to hardware issues or upgrades or issues with other software...... I offer to help with that too!)
ReplyDeleteAt 8:35am CDT finally the web site is working normally for me again. The shoe count is already down 7 from when I first tried more than an hour ago, which tells me that some people were still able to shop but not me? Whatever. Now I've only got 5 minutes. :)
ReplyDeleteI stopped in to make a return yesterday and picked up some cute sale items: islet paisley perfect shirt (40295) for $29.99, bahia hobo in honey (38126) for $19.99 (totally not worth $78 or even the $59.50 online -- the strap is so short -- but worth $20 imo, as the ribbons make this color different from the typical summer straw bags), tisbury bucket bag (44594) in clay (the other color, natural, looked really washed out) for $12.99, and a cute striped blue/turquoise/aqua/white scarf for $29.99. I also got the sequin-stripe tank (44184) from the new rollout in faded black. $78. Not sure about this as I HATE to buy full price J.Crew... So cute though. Also saw some other cute new arrivals that I did not have time to try on: paisley pencil skirt (44248) is really lovely with nice thick material, and I like the pattern better than the similar salt paisley that is in factory right now -- not as much white/cream. Also the faded foil dress looked cute (44359). But I figured both of those can wait for sale...
ReplyDeleteShekster, I am busty and smaller on the bottom. There was room in the bust and thankfully the skirt was not really full and laid nicely on me. I may have the tailor shorten the sleeves because I don't like how "flouncy" they are but overall the dress works very well for me.
ReplyDeleteAudreys- what a great deal on the Islet Paisley Perfect Shirt! It is back up to full price online but I could have sworn it was in the sale section a day or two ago.
ReplyDeleteOT Can anyone help me with a free ship code for Lands' End? Please email me at onetoomanyclosets at gmail dot com. Thanks in advance!!
ReplyDeletepathos,
ReplyDeleteI usually wear a large in JCrew perfect fit tees and I get a medium in all the sleeveless or perfect fit tanks. I always size down for sleeveless items. I have perfect fit tanks from all years they were made and all are size medium. Just even tried some on last weekend.
OT--I received a "cardholder perk" of a unique free shipping code good through July 2. Nice to see they're doing something for cardholders.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone tried on the Jardin skirt in the store? My waist is two sizes smaller than my hips and I'm wondering whether there would be enough room in my hips if I sized to my waist.
Hexicon: I'm not sure that they are available in stores yet. They are not scheduled to ship for online purchases until 7/4. Hopefully someone will let us know otherwise. :)
ReplyDeleteXOXO: I'm glad that Ikat dress worked for you! I will likely get the shirt since I love the print, maybe the scarf too. The scarf is wool but I felt in store and it is very soft and silky.
I am so happy they are FINALLY giving perks to card holders. I got the free ship no minimum code too.
ReplyDeleteAs long as the sale does not go to final sale I will use it first of July for my birthday.
Please J.Crew no final sale anymore or at least hold off until end of summer/August.
no % off in SF. I posted some IRL pics and reviews of the new pencil skirts (brought the paisley one home) on my blog here
ReplyDeleteWill do a post on a couple new retail-only tees soon. Sale section is filled with the same old same old.
This is really pissing me off. Once again I'm at home checking out the J Crew sale section, I look at a few items and then suddenly I'm getting the Forbidden crap again. I have been looking at products via bookmarks, and I'm almost thinking that they've implemented some sort of code that disallows this, or at least disallows it if you've looked at x products via bookmarks, where x is their arbitrary limit. And now I can't look at ANY products, via bookmarks or the regular way through the sale section. I need to call J Crew now, this is ridiculous. Is anyone else having problems??
ReplyDeletetamara.chicago: Have you tried clearing your cookies?
ReplyDeleteGood morning Tamara! I got the Forbidden03 (i think that is what it was) message before, and emailed CS. They said when the system receives too many hits at one time, it will block users. This happened during a super sale time. They cleared it somehow and I was back able to view the pages.
ReplyDeleteI have noticed that the bookmarked items of mine do not work after one or 2 days. Not sure, but they aren't allowing it I am guessing.
I would call CS. Get them to clear you. And like FFM said, clear cookies!
Closet Crisis, I have a LE free shipping code good this weekend but its $50 minimum:
ReplyDeleteSUMMERSALE
Pin 2176
Hope that helps!

ReplyDeleteOT: Lands' End Canvas now has a *Saved Items* aka Wish List feature on their site, plus their checkout page has been updated, as well.
ReplyDeleteLands' End, too. :)
ReplyDeleteIs anyone going to preorder any fall items at this point?
ReplyDeleteI picked up the selvedge stripe scarf last weekend. I have two pair of selvedge stripe hip slung jeans from JCrew that I love from a (Few) years ago; hip slung were the best fit-Love. The scarf is really lovely in person (doesn't show that way online)and in store only $19.99 vs $29.99 online!
ReplyDeleteI'm having bad J Crew luck, should I take this as a sign? I gave up last night, then went on this morning and everything is fine, put an item in my shopping cart, looked at other stuff but didn't add anything, checked out, got to the last confirmation... and poof, item is gone already. It's a good thing this all didn't happen a month or two ago when I was at the peak of my shoe addiction. I wasn't upset this morning, more like "Oh well". I'm actually not getting up in the wee hours of the morning any more. Maybe I don't need rehab after all. :)
ReplyDeletePre-order fall items?? What???
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome, Shekster. The boardroom dress is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteRe:fall preorder
ReplyDeleteI am definitely making a list. I did this last year and was happy with results.
I can never be sure which items I like will sell out immediately and which will end up in the sale section but at least I get what I want.
Unfortunately some items I like from the style.com pix are not in the official JC cookbook and I don't find any of the PS help to be very resourceful...
Where I live you can wear a light-weight sweater year round so fall is a great shopping time.
tamara.chicago- There is a link posted somewhere on I like the last JCA blog post before this one where you can see the fall look book on the web site and pre-order the items in that lookbook.
ReplyDeleteSorry, some errors in my last post. Here is the link to the fall lookbook.... http://www.jcrew.com/womens_feature/falllookbook.jsp
ReplyDeleteWell, I WAS going to order the black purse with the 'cat print' flap but when I called it was wait for it.....$465.00! I almost spit out my coffee. I asked about the wool camel skirt in the last pic with the denim shirt and was told they had no info on that skirt as it was a Holiday piece. I loved all the cat printed shoes, sorry I can't keep my leopard from my jaquar etc straight. But, I told the rep on the phone the pics were not that great so I could not really tell if I actually wanted to pre-order them. I usually don't like pointy toe shoes.
ReplyDeleteHi All,
ReplyDeleteOT, but does anyone know if the paisley pants (I've seen pics at B&M's - maybe they are minnies?) area available? Not sure if I missed them...
Thanks!

ReplyDeleteSara, thank you! I'm looking at the lookbook now. It's great to see the large images. I'm tempted to pre-order several items but I'll probably just wait, now that I'm confronted with the choice. :) I'm curious to see what other clothes they'll offer for fall. The colors are kind of all over the place, but that's probably a good thing, something for everyone.
ReplyDeleteI bought several things. I got the paisley pencil skirt, paisley candace dress, some sweaters.
ReplyDelete@FFM, Louise and Ruffles: thanks so much for the code for LE. I love this community, you are all so helpful!
ReplyDelete
