Thanks!" to Holly Tara (in this post), as well as dancerb & Minah, who shared the following news.
The latest J.Crew catalog sent to customers may have a unique promotional code (for something like 20% off on any order, free shipping with no minimum, or $20 off a certain amount). The offer expires July 4, 2011.
So double-check your catalog to see if you got a unique promo code too! :)
Nothing in my catalog unfortunately.

ReplyDeletenothing in mine either... (sigh) i never get a catalog code
ReplyDeleteNever going to get a catalog! Stupid Canadian postal workers strike!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you teeny84! My catalog is somewhere wasting away while our postal workers strike!
ReplyDeleteI haven't even gotten the July catalog mailed to me, let alone with a "surprise" inside. Had to pick one up from a B&M. :-\
ReplyDeleteI never get them-- i shop too ofen. *snort* My mom got one and gave it to me. I think i'm going for the popy flats. Has anyone tried the pastille tweed skirt?
ReplyDeleteI never get a catalog and I'm kind of offended. I can't help but think I spend enough for them to at least mail a catalog!!! I look month after month and swear each time Im just not going to shop with them unless they send me a darn catalog!
ReplyDeleteGot my catalog at the beginning of the week and no 20% off. The last time I received one of those was when I wasn't shopping a lot. I think it is all a grand plan for them :(
ReplyDeleteTotally off topic, but for any Canadian JCAs there's an interesting article in today's Globe and Mail (including the online edition) about their Canadian expansion. Gives some new details, for example: the Yorkdale mall location is going to be women's only. Also gives some details about where their next stores will be. I don't know how to send it to Alexis, so this is the best I can do!
ReplyDeleteI am so un-psyched about the colors and styles in the new catalog--hopefully some of you ladies will find it more appealing and suitable for you than moi did!
ReplyDeleteHey Teeny, I thought that was a good article too. I sent the link to Alexis, but here it is for anyone who wants to read it now:

Interesting to note he acknowledges the mistakes they've made (too short skirts and too many ruffles for example!).
@Mia: I thought it was funny when he said that they don't bother with market research. Pretty sure it's because they can read this site for free haha.
ReplyDeleteI got one in my catalog! The fine print says that you cannot use it at the J.Crew Factory Store, but I just bought a dress online that is factory, & when I entered the code it gave me 20% off & Free Shipping!!! WooHoo!!!
ReplyDeleteI NEVER get catalogs either...and I've requested them numerous times. What's the deal???
ReplyDeleteI have not received my catalog yet, but I see my neighbor in my building received his, so maybe mine will come today. It's bad when the catalogs come late and they have a time-limited promo in them. Why does J Crew put the promos in the catalogs anyway? Seems very wasteful and expensive. Why not send them via email? They could be just as selective.
ReplyDeleteI FINALLY got my catalog but no free shipping. My dad was getting them but has not received the last 2 catalogs. Of course, no code for me. I KNOW I spend too much and they have me in their mighty grasp already!
ReplyDeleteAnd, OT, UGH I just paid for shipping. I feel so unclean! The Verona jacket I just got has a ripped seam in the back and it looks like a fix was already attempted. So, they finally had my size back in stock and I caved. At least the jacket is priced less now than when I ordered it and I have been ordering a lot on JC's shipping dime. We call that RATIONALIZATION. Now if only I don't get the dreaded "We wish we had enough" email!
shopwithm: I tried the Pastille tweed skirt. It was more of a body-hugging skirt with a straight fit on me, which I did not like on my body type. I think I have put on a few pounds too which did not help. I can wear a size 6 in the No.2 pencil but needed at least an 8 in the Pastille tweed. I have found that lately the Collection pencil skirts are running smaller. The tweed was pretty with pastel colors but the ivory background seemed to stand out more to me. I really did not like the waistband on it. It felt kind of cheap to me for such a pretty tweed. Judging from your pictures on your blog you could pull it off nicely. Try it, at least you can return it, right? Here's to LOVING NO FINAL SALE!
ReplyDeletenothing for me. :(
ReplyDeleteBoth my DH and I have received emails for June/July Codes but have yet to find any catalogs in our mail. Called CS this a.m. and after some "verification," I was able to get a code applied to my order. No free shipping but still thankful.
