Make a Bracelet from J.Crew's Shopping Bag!

A big "thanks!" to Lisa {of the amazing "sideoats and scribbles" blog}, who shared a creative way to reuse J.Crew's shopping bag handles to make a rope bracelet!

To learn how to transform the bag into a perfect-for-the-summer bracelet, check out her "DIY rope bracelet from a J.Crew shopping bag!" post. Honestly, I think the bracelet is adorable! It has a great nautical vibe to it (and I love me the nautical-theme).

I am going to call it J.Crew's Shopping Bracelet. (Maybe all the JCAs should have one and wear it while we are out shopping to distinguish ourselves!)

I am going to make this darling bracelet and add a little charm or two at the end (like a cute sailboat or something). It will look great with the Vintage Bateau Top (Item 24484; $36.00). Kudos Lisa!

Will you make your own J.Crew shopping bracelet? If so, please share! Do you have any more Do-It-Your self projects with J.Crew?

  1. Too cute! I am totally making this! I love DIY projects. And now I know why I've been saving all my shopping bags for years. I probably have enough from various stores to make one in every color of the rainbow!

  4. Very nice and thank you for sharing! I don't have any J.Crew bags which is a really weird thing for me to type. All my purchases have been online or at the J.Crew outlet...but I know I have shopping bags around with those types of handles. Will have to teach my daughter to make one when she "tracks out" for summer (year round school here)

  7. Thanks so much for your kind comments, Alexis! And thanks so much to all of you and all the JCA's -- can't tell you how many times I've come on here and found something I didn't know about! :)

    I went shopping at J.Crew this weekend and got another bag (and some great shirts for my sweetie, yay!), going to have to make another one and put some charms on it -- that's a great idea! Or maybe sew on some beads!

  9. This is simply genius and like Natalie Would said..very sustainable. You could make more than one and then dye them different colors too.

  10. Awesome!! I can't wait to make one. I'll have to go dig around in my messy cabinet full of shopping bags and see if I can find a JC bag!

  11. It is funny you mention this because just a few weeks ago I dicovered that J crew shoppping bag handles are excellent for hex nut braclets;
    see:

    especially, if you are useing larger nuts. Sometimes I take the core of the bag handle out becaue it is less bulky that way.
