ReplyDeleteOT: The 20% off plus free shipping promo on women's tees and knits now includes women's shorts.
ReplyDeletemy only complaint is that the paisley pencil skirt that i wanted is SOLD OUT online :( it was a new release only 2 weeks ago and just appeared in the July catalog! WTF! (i can only hope that the skirt is available in my stores or that jcrew brings it back since it's so popular)
ReplyDeletesigh. that was supposed to be my treat purchase for july.
sub
ReplyDeletesub again :)
ReplyDeleteThe order I placed last Thursday, June 23rd, is still just "released" - this is the longest ever processing time as far as I recall.
ReplyDeletejjc- I'm having the exact same issue. I chatted with an online rep yesterday, saying that I was concerned something would be oos. She said no, everything was fine, and then lo and behold, I got an item cancellation email. Of course... She also said I would have it by Thursday and it takes two days to get to me. Since it hasn't shipped yet, it's definitely not going to make it on time. I wonder what the hold up is??
ReplyDeleteYesterday on FB I noticed that JCrew posted a blurb about their fabulous featherweight cashmere. That started off a chain of comments, most of which were vents on how their cashmere pills too quickly and is sub-par for the price. I have to admit I enjoyed seeing those! Maybe if enough people express their dissatisfaction, JCrew will get it together and start producing quality cashmere again.
ReplyDeleteMiss JR, I'm willing to bet that skirt will pop back in all sizes. JC has been known to show certain items as sold out and then all of a sudden all sizes and colors are available again the next week.
ReplyDeleteWhile I was making a return the other week, I picked up a vintage v-neck t-shirt in white because mine was starting to look a little dingy. I didn't bother trying it on because I have tons of these and always wear an XS. Last night I was pressing out some of the creases (yes, I'm a nerd and iron t-shirts) and noticed that the v-neck looked really deep. I tried it on and sure enough, it is a crazy deep v-neck. WTF??
ReplyDeleteThen I tried on the navy and brick colors I just received on Monday and those were totally fine. Now I'm going to have to wear a cami underneath the white one which wasn't my intent. Teaches me a lesson not to try it on at the store. But it is SO frustrating that the cuts/quality are not consistent!!
I received my Eyelet pencil skirt in Caspian Blue yesterday (from the 30% off promo) and am so disappointed in it! It is NOT the same Eyelet pencil skirt style that was released earlier this year. It looks and feels so much cheaper. I didn't even try it on. The one they released earlier this year (I reviewed it here) is leaps and bounds different and better. Unfortunately I took that one back. I am so, so disappointed! Why in the world would they change it and then give it the same product name?
ReplyDeleteAppGal - That's so sad! I remember seeing an eyelet skirt in store recently and was thinking how much better last year's version was. I didn't see the one from earlier this spring in person, but I do remember you raving about it. This recent one doesn't even look like eyelet. So disappointing to hear the version earlier this year was a "good" version, then they replaced it with something far inferior. This quality thing is really getting serious, it seems.
ReplyDeleteMy vents: Sssslllloooowwww shipping to where I live - the package apparently sits somewhere with a tracking number but no info in UPS's system for days. I never get packages within the 3-5 business days - it's usually at least 6 or 7.
Also, need we say it again, but I keep hoping they'll eventually listen (see the Canada store thread)... THE WEBSITE. Please update the website to something in line with your competitors JC! We've seen it in so many other places, so we know it's possible!!
Received my shipment today. Ordered the lace blouson dress and instead received a pair of shoes. This has never happened to me before. Boo JCrew!
ReplyDeleteI ordered a pop up of the Mirabel dress in size 0 Petite. I've been waiting for a size 00 or 9 Petite to pop up after special ordering a size 0 from a store. The size 0 is way too big for me. The Petite 0 was due to be in stock on July 24th. So yesterday I received an email that it was now available (a month early) and they had put it on credit hold. I called today and they have already cancelled it!! I'm having surgery next week and I spent all day at the hospital so I didn't even read they message until this morning. I've had it. I waited for them while it was back listed and I was willing to wait another month for it but they weren't willing to give me 24 hours. I had no idea they were so strict. I've had it. I've spent thousands at J.Crew and I am done. Goodbye.
ReplyDeleteObviously I meant 0 petite not "9".--but you all knew that.
ReplyDeleteajr, I agree on shipping! I called UPS a couple days after getting a tracking number since there was no update on my shipment. UPS said they still had not received the item from the shipper (J.Crew). I was so mad.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, called CS at J.Crew and they still had my items there. Long story short, when my package finally shipped it was expediated to make up for all the mess. But what an issue.
Plus, the packaging was a joke. :( But thankfully, I liked my items.
This is not my first shipping issue with them..so I rarely buy online...and I don't think I will much anymore. These things happen way too often!
Jane, I'm so sorry! That is awful. I don't blame you at all for being so upset. :(
ReplyDeleteAppGal, I returned my eyelet skirts last night. I did not like the quality or "eyelet" of either; however, was willing to stick with them for the price. HOWEVER, I then tried them on - both my normal J.Crew pencil skirt size....one too small and one too big. DONE ):
ReplyDeleteJust a minor vent, I've been collecting Jenna's cardigans and they've all been identically sized execpt for the heather guava on that arrived yesterday and it's more than an inch shorter than the others and also at least an inch smaller at the bust. So it's going back. It appeared to be factory fresh, not a return. I don't think it's a deliberate design change, I also got the marled camel color and it's fine, sized just like the older colors. It's too bad, the heather guava color is cute and I would have kept it.
ReplyDeleteMy vintage V-neck tee, which I've only had for a month, already has two holes in it. I realize the thin knit is kinda the point, but 1 month is ridiculous. Too bad, I really liked it and would have gotten more. Anyone else have this problem or did I just get a dud?
ReplyDeleteI'm a little surprised that some shirts that previously were on sale, were removed, and then put back on sale at a slightly higher price. A little bait and switch going on? I love their style, but my inner bargain hunter won't let me buy. :(
